Just picked up some shampoo for my dog. After being rung up total came to $16.11. I asked why so much price on the shelf is $12.99? After confirming product was in the correct location $12.99 tag was removed and guess what? Price was still $16.11 after tax. Staff were nice. As a result I just checked Amazon and I found I can get 128oz instead of 16oz for just over 2x the cost. An item was priced for $6.99. I tried to buy it but they were extremely rude and wouldn't sell it to me because they said they put the wrong price on it. A different of $6. When I asked to talk to the manager they said she was at the store but unavailable. I can't believe 1. how rude the associates were, 2. That they won't let a customer speak with the manager, and 3. That hey were willing to lose a long time customer over $6. Bad business all the way around. I will not be shopping there anymore. read more

The prices are good/decent and the customer service has always been superb, until today that is. I am regular but never before had I seen Sarah. Poor customer service does not even emphasize her obnoxious, bad attitude. I was standing near (about one foot away) the check out counter just to see if I wanted any last grabs before checking out. Sarah approaches and aggressively says, "Are you done or do you need something." I replied, "Oh, no thank you. I'm done. I'm just deciding if I should get this treat or not." "Well we're closed," stated Sarah. It was 7:55. I have worked retail so I understand wanting customers to leave, but I was standing in front of the check out not on the other side of the store shopping. I took a step forward to the register and placed my dog food on the counter. I left the treats, clothes, and toys which probably would have been $50 in the basket and asked the gentleman behind the counter apologetically to please ask Sarah to put these back, I no longer need them from this store. My advice, if you see Sarah when you walk in, just leave. I will never support that kind of personnel. Someone should let her know she works in sales, then get her training or fire her. I buy my dog food from Pet Supermarket. I found their prices are competitive and it's conveniently located near my house. Parking is never an issue, the store is clean, and the staff is good. I haven't used their restroom so I can't comment on their cleanliness, but everything else is fine in the store. I dropped in to check on some prices because I thought I had been in here previously and don't recall seeing Blue brand. I see that they do have it and am having to purchase some extras for my boys and was comparing against other pet store prices. They have a decent selection and found that pricing is better at this store for some items and better pricing exists at other places for other items. I didn't really look around much at the rest of the store - I'll do that on my next visit....but that said, I'll be back because the main food source is cheaper than my normal pet food store. I like Pet Supermarket mostly because it's the closest option I have for buying food and treats for my dog, but nothing is truly remarkable about this particular location. Sure, they have quite a few options for food, bones and treats, but there's not much else going on here. Sometimes the check out process can be a hassle since there is usually only one person working the checkout line. I do like Pet Supermarket's pet food loyalty program where if you buy 10 bags of a specific dog food, they'll give you a coupon for a free bag. They often send out $5 off coupons as well, which can be really good if you're trying to save a couple of bucks. read more

This is a small to medium size pet store with a poor selection. I have left empty handed more than once because they didn't have the product I needed. The prices are also above average. 4/11/2021 You have a bacterial infection in your fish tanks. I told an employee who said "that is not possible because the tanks are all connected and we have a filter with UV." She also said the water was cloudy because we just cleaned it. I asked her why there were so many dead fish if you just cleaned it. Why not remove the dead fish? The Florida Aquarium has a better filter than Pet Supermarket and still has to deal with bacterial infections. It happens, but do not lie to your customers and try to cover it up. You never know who you are talking too. read more

I walked and told them about a batch of worms i got that were all dead... asked if he could look up my account to prove i just bought 3 days ago. which he did. he then told me that i needed to drive home to get them to get a swap. Ugh. Of course not great customer service for three bucks. Considering i spend hundreds there each month! I drove home to het the dead worms and when i returned he had major attitude wITH ME! I said aren't you even going to look at them, he said no. and walked away from me. he then said to me in front of other customers that he was leaving and quit this job because of pompous entitled customers like me. Pet Supermarket is an alternative to other 'big box' pet stores - you will find standard brands of food and pet supplies. There are limited specialty items - call ahead to see if they have what you need. Prices on most food is competitive or less - specialty food may be higher than what you would expect (I assumed everything here was discount). I did find the price for treats - even more unique brands - cost effective. My motivation was to save a few dollars and shop out of convenience - I was able to accomplish both tasks. Dog beds and mats are generally not high quality - however, if you are looking for something less expensive and don't require much sturdiness, options here are just fine. The staff is friendly and outgoing - while one staff member was not fully knowledgable on certain dog products - she was genuine and willing to look up what was not known (refreshingly honest!). Do not buy tropical fish at this store. Bought 5 fish 4 days ago. Asked about the return policy. A male clerk, aka Mr. Policy, stated that I could return within 7 days if any died, just bring the fish in. Well 1 died today and I went to return to get a new fish, and was told by Mr. Policy that I needed to bring in a sample of the fish tank water, that its their policy. He did not tell me that when I bought the fish. Did not bother going back home to get a water sample for a $1.99 fish. All the other fish are doing great! read more

This was my first visit to this location and I have to say that this is one of the nicer pet stores I have been into. The store is brightly lit, neat/tidy and the shelves are stocked. Another major plus for me is that a lot of the items I usually purchase are priced competitively and in some cases lower priced than most of their competitors. Clean store. Great pet adoptions. Much more dog items than any other animal. Decent selection of birds. Employees are nice, but management fails to properly train the staff. Most times I'm in the store several, if not all, of the employees are behind the register area joking around or are playing on their phones.
