I have two dogs that shed a lot and roll in the lawn (and eventually smell). I used to go to fancier, private, smaller grooming places but they kept my dogs in cages (crates ) for hours and my dogs are not used to that. This place needs to be shut down. We walked into buy a dog brush and immediately saw 30 beta fish and half were dead. They were kept in individual containers right next to eachother with no blinders, which is why I'm sure half were dead. Male betas display beautiful colors as a defense mechanism when they feel threatened. This is why evil stores like this will keep them next to eachother with no blinders because the males will feel threatened by eachother and often lead to death from stress. My household (many, MANY creatures) are big fans of this location. We are in multiple times a week and we've always gotten great advice and service. Just switched dog food for the third time, and got several great recommendations to start with. I've got just two very minor issues with this location - the lacking number of cat toys (possibly not the fault of the store itself, but its distribution center) and the behavior of a couple of the employees this week. I understand the gentlemen are young, and I am NOT faulting them for that, but that's when it falls to supervisors to correct and coach them to maybe stock more, and joke around less. The two young men I have in mind were blocking one end of the aisle, goofing around, and in the entire time (5-8 minutes) I was in the aisle choosing three or four items I saw just two individual pieces of merchandise get stocked. And saw lots of animated silliness. And one of them left their beverage on the shelf too. I wonder if just one of them had been stocking, would the cat toys have been better filled by the time I'd gotten to that section? read more

I am very disappointed with my recent experience with pet supplies. I have groomed my maltipoo here various times before and they had done a great job. However, I brought him in recently after his neutering since he has some knots near his neck due to his cone, but he was well groomed otherwise with no other knots. The groomer told us that he needed to be shaved but "would leave as much hair as possible", so we assumed only the two areas that had knots would be shaved while the rest would just be shortened, but that was not the case. Our maltipoo was shaved completely, and there was barley any hair left on his body and even his face. It honestly feels like they just didn't even try to keep some of his hair, and just shaved head to toe to get it over with it. Our pup has been irritated with his body ever since and has been acting depressed for the past 2 days.... It feels like we have another dog... :( It's so frustrating to see how no hair was left in areas that did not need to be shaved (i.e. his face, head, paws), and not enough effort was put it in to keep a maltipoo's best quality, which is his hair. We will not be bringing our dog here anymore, especially after seeing how a proper haircut looks like for maltipoos with matted hair, which is not like this. read more

I give the grooming salon negative 0 stars. I called in advance to inquire about my dogs grooming needs. They assured me they where familiar and experienced in what I wanted. My dog is a powderpuff Chinese Crested. Long story short. They handed me back a dog I didn't even recognize! I was in shock and could barely speak. The groomer Renee shaved the crest off my Crested. She handed me what looked like a naked boiled chicken. After the shock wore off I cried. I then noticed how badly botched the rest of his cut was especially the bald chunk under his chin. My dog is very mellow and well behaved. His hair was not matted. I spoke with multiple staff/management and they first offered me 10% off my next visit. A district manager kindly offered a free service but I will never trust these groomers with my dog. Renee obviously lied to me and truly had no idea what she was doing. I love the store tho. They are so friendly, helpful and super knowledgeable Unfortunately I don't shop there anymore but the store is awesome however buyer beware of unskilled groomers that are quick to tell you how skilled they are. I go in this store several times per week, as they have a great selection of high-end dog and cat food and treats, as well as the bakery cookies that my dogs seem to be addicted to. The sales people are very friendly, they know our names, and are always helpful. Their prices are also very good and they will offer to order something if its not on the shelf. The aisles are really narrow - way too squishy, especially if you're trying to navigate a cart in the same aisle that has a dog in it. I love animals and always check out the hamsters, rabbits, etc. I have noticed that most of the hamsters are just labeled as "dwarf hamster", where some were actually Roborovski's - a very tiny breed of hamster. For people that are into buying pocket pets, the breed is important. They are not all the same. Some are winter whites, some are russians, etc. I dont know if the store owners just don't know the different breeds, or if that's just how they label them. I would like to see them labeled properly. Also, one day I was in the store and there was a small group of kids that were asking to hold pretty much every single animal in the store and the manager was letting them. The young girl was walking all over the store holding rabbits, lizards, and finally, a tiny roborovski hamster. Robo hamsters are nearly impossible to hold - they are very squirmy. I was getting very worried watching her try to hold this hamster and she did drop it, and the manager finally put it back in its cage, but I felt really sorry for that tiny hamster being mauled and dropped. I do not think children should be allowed to just hold the animals like its a zoo - they were clearly not interested in buying any of these pets and were just having fun. Pets are not toys. Just my two cents. I am happy to see they are now fostering a homeless cat in the store and helping them find homes for one of the local shelters. read more

On Monday I went to Pet Supplies Plus to pick up some dog treats. I found the store to have a good supply of dog toys and reasonable prices. They have significant discounts on many items if you sign up for their rewards card. BUT on the way to the register, I ran into the betta fish display. Uh oh! I LOVE betta fish. I am an experienced betta fish owner and was appalled by the conditions of the bettas in this store. They were in dirty cups with cloudy water and uneaten pellets rotting at the bottom of the cups. One little guy was dead. Several had white spots indicating ich infections, several others had SEVERE columnaris infections and were covered in fuzzy gray patches of bacteria. It was heartbreaking. I checked out the store's selection of fish medications. They have a fairly good selection, but do not carry Maracyn, Maracyn 2, or Aquarisol, the three products I would have liked to use to treat a sick betta with columnaris and ich. The employee I asked was unable to recommend a similar product, but offered to read labels with me. I ended up taking pity on a beautiful little crowntail and decided to bring him home, figuring I could at least give him medicine and a nice, big, warm tank to make his last days easier. I dosed him with antibiotics and anti-parasitic medication, but he was too far gone and died after two days. When I brought the dead fish back today, I was offered a refund or an exchange for a new fish. The employee was very kind and sympathetic and told me she had just cleaned out the betta cups. They did, indeed, have clean water and the dead fish had been removed, but I examined the fish and many had several small white spots (ich), others had "cotton mouth" columnaris patches on their bodies, and none of them looked happy or healthy. All were overfed, bloated pellets were disintegrating in the cups. The employees did not seem very knowledgeable about fish or fish diseases and didn't seem to know how to prevent them from occurring in the first place. I chose not to exchange for another unhealthy fish. Honestly, if it were not for the conditions of the betta fish, I'd give the store 4 or 5 stars. As a fish fanatic, however, I have a hard time spending money where fish are being neglected. read more

Yesterday I placed an online order with delivery same day. That was at 9am. At 2pm I received a call that they were shortstaffed and could not get my order out. I explained that I was house bound due to surgery and needed the order to be delivered the next day. I called to follow up as we did get a storm. Confirmed that it would go out but was looking for a time frame as I am now out of food. Did I need to find someone to bring me a small bag etc. Becuase it would be delivered late. Miranda, kept saying : It would be delivered today" I tried to clarify what I was looking for. She repeated the same phrase 2 other times. When I asked to speak with a manager, she hung up on me. I called back with no answer. I waited 20 minutes and got another rep who happily let me know that order go out around 2-4 and then try to have all orders delivered before dark. Perfect! Was that so hard??? I have 3 dogs and frequent this store often. Most of the time everyone is super sweet and helpful. I have looked for advice for both puppies and senior dogs and have always been pleased with the customer service. The grooming is fantastic etc. I will continue to shop here but needed someone to coach up Miranda on how to communicate with customers. Disconnecting a call on a customer should be frowned upon and taken seriously. read more

I bring my dog here to be groomed, and have for the past 1.5 years. Their prices for her have risen, despite the fact that she hasn't changed at all in size. Grooming started at $30 or $35, and has risen to nearly $50, which is a bit of a large jump for such a short period of time! The quality of the grooming is average, and I do not have any specific complaints, aside from the rising price. However, what makes me refuse to give this store anything above a single star is their fish and rodent sections. Starting with fish: I understand tanks being overstocked for a store, but they have double the amount of fish in their tanks that should ever be in there, even for a temporary situation! For the longest time, their fish always had ich, which is not even a difficult disease to cure. When the tanks were clear for a while, I finally purchased a few fish. I'm glad I quarantined them, though, because of course they became sick (with ich) within a day or so. I have been keeping fish for years, so I knew how to cure them, but given that they were new fish straight from the store, I should not have had to. Since then, the fish have only gotten worse, with every tank always having some dead ones (how hard is it to scoop them out?), Or fish with clear ammonia burns (a result of the overstocked tanks and decaying fish). Do NOT buy fish from here, unless you can somehow rescue them for free, because such a practice does not deserve any support until they fix their awful tanks. The rodents are not doing well either, with most cages containing a wire wheel (despite the fact that they have been proven unsafe years ago) and some sort of fluffy bedding that always makes the rodents sneeze. I have adopted two hamsters from PetSmart, and would never try to do so again. The first one died in just over a month, due to what the vet diagnosed as cancer. The second died in 13 days, despite vet care, from a respiratory​ complication, which was suspended to have been caused by the fluffy, dusty bedding in the store cages. Ultimately, unless you'd like to watch an animal suffer, do not ever purchase any living creatures from this awful store. read more

We take our dog here to have his nails trimmed every 6 weeks. He gets nervous around a lot of dogs, and the staff here has always been very sensitive to that.
