Once she was done with everyone in line, she wiped down the top bag with a regular paper towel. Two bags underneath were left with pee on them. We signed up for dog training at PetSmart with Jonathan, also known as JO. We have one on one…read moretraining for about an hour weekly for six weeks before starting a second series of lessons. More than halfway through this first series, we are so pleased with the results, which are helping keep us and our dog safe. JO is a very skilled dog trainer. More than once I've thought of him as a dog whisperer as our one year old rescue dog responds almost instantly to the new commands he teaches her. My husband and I then immediately practice them with our girl to ensure the lessons are sticking. We practice in the training area and around the store, which is always full of distractions to test our dog. The lessons have stuck and we use them regularly at home and when we are out and about. Recommended.

The permanent damage to his trachea, his knee and front leg/shoulder cannot be seen except on X-rays. The emotional damage and PTSD is an everyday thing and I'm still working at a snails pace, gentling him back into grooming. He doesn't shake as much as he did at first but it's still awful for him. These people are monsters, and the 'groomer', Cassidy...I don't know this person, never met her before, but I do know that she has absolutely no business dealing with animals. Shame on you people! Dropped off my Pom for basic grooming with Cassidy. Instead of a well groomed fluffy happy Pomeranian, I picked up a very quiet little Pom with The entire bottom half of guard hairs cut off, you can see his skin through the undercoat that is left. He was abused in a manner that caused his trachea to partially collapse with improper use of the grooming loop. Cassidy caused his front right leg to no longer have full range of motion, and a luxating patella (his right rear leg), repaired with no issues for ten years, is knocked out of place as a result of the 'grooming' he received from Cassidy. The owner was rude, accused me of lying. Cassidy lied. Another employee there lied. Owner was physically very threatening, approaching me quickly several times stopping inches from my face, so close his spit got on my face as he yelled at me. The staff at Southern States are very nice and always willing to help you. By far my favorite part about shopping here is they load your car for you. Almost every other feed store in the area has you loading your own car, which I do not have a problem doing but it is very nice to have help every once in a while. I buy grass hay and I can say the bales are always cut very well, the flakes come apart easily, and the hay seems fresh. When feeding any type of animal you should be cautious of the food your giving, this is even more important when feeding horses because they are so sensitive. I trust the hay at Southern States to supply my girls with what they need and to keep them happy. I highly recommend Southern States to anyone who needs live stock supplies, gardening or farming supplies, or even domestic pet foods and supplies. The place was clean and well kept. The shelter has separate areas for the cats and the dogs, I also like it that they have a lounge for anyone who wants to meet and get reacquainted with the animal. While I was at the dog area, I noticed blankets covering some cages. It's really a brilliant idea since some dogs seemed to have reactions with another dog. It helps the animal calm down I guess. I had signed up to foster a couple dogs... one of the dogs did not work out. It needed a lot more attention and care than I realize I could handle. I had reached out at four in the morning, almost 5 stating that I don't think I can keep this dog another night because of said issues... the coordinator then pretty much told me that maybe fostering isn't for me. If I can't handle a few more days with the dog then I shouldn't foster. Which initially I was thinking about trying to push off a few more days, but like I mentioned, this dog has a lot more to him than I had realized. So I texted her and let her know that I was in route and on my way. And essentially, since I decided to bring this dog back, I am now blacklisted and can no longer adopt any dogs or foster there. And I had to bring the other one back too even though I mentioned I could keep him still multiple of times. This was not my understanding of what fostering is or how it works or how it's done... I was trying to open up my home. And do something good. And clearly it backfired. Just thought I would warn people that if you decide to foster, and if you decide even after a day that a dog is not a good fit for you and your family that you will no longer be allowed to foster or adopt.

Then there is the real star, the dog biscuits. They are handmade from spent grains (at the end process of beer brewing) from many local breweries.
