We brought our 10-year-old cat to Pet Wow in Florence, KY for an exam and vaccinations at the recommendation of a friend who brings her two cats here. She said she has been very happy with their service over the years. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were very happy today with the friendliness of the staff as well as the veterinarian.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She was kind and knowledgable, and we felt that she enjoys what she does, loves and understands animals, and was happy we chose their clinic. We will bring our cat to their groomer on Monday, and she said she will check in on him while he is there. I have used Petwow in this area for the last 5-6 years, mainly at the highland heights location. I recently switched to the this Florence location for convenience sake and after enjoying my visits there with our new dog. I took my older dog in this week for a dental cleaning, which he has had before at the other location so I knew generally what to expect. I dropped him off around 7:30am and called during my lunch to check on him which is when I was told he had a couple teeth pulled (the first time this has ever happened). He is a 7 year old Chihuahua, so that wasn't completely surprising, however [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was told this by a receptionist or tech who had no further information. She didn't know why or which teeth. I was never called by the vet or tech that presided over the cleaning that day to explain which teeth and why.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]At the highland heights location, the vet personally calls you regardless to even tell you that their teeth were in great shape, let alone if one had to be pulled.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They called me later to tell me he was finished, and still didn't know which teeth were pulled but told me they would give me the paper the vet/tech filled out during the procedure that would show the teeth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So this was disappointing in terms of communication but I was willing to let it go since overall it seems they did an acceptable job.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A couple days pass and my chihuahua is finally back to his normal self enough to where I notice now that he has a decent sized bald patch at the back base of his tail. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was very shocking because I did not know what caused this, I initially even thought it was my new puppy that attacked my older dog.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Thankfully I have a close friend with extensive vet tech experience and they explained that the vet did this and for what reasons.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This had never been done to my chihuahua at his other handful of dental cleanings, so I was completely clueless and terrified before I found out what caused this. There's something special about people who work with pets for a living. They're always kind, friendly, and understanding ... and the folks at Pet Wow are no exception. My fiancé and I have been taking our pup Kody to Pet Wow since we adopted him just over two years ago. We'd been to the Highland Heights location several times -- but this was our first visit to the Florence office. It's extremely easy to make an appointment - the people who run their phone lines are informative and quick. I called last Thursday to make an appointment for this week and had zero issues -- which sometimes isn't the case for other pet-related services, like grooming, or even doggie daycare, that book weeks in advance. The parking lot is a decent size - although I was there in the morning when the neighboring Blind Squirrel Restaurant is not open. I can imagine the lot fills up pretty quickly when they're open - which is why it's great that there's designated spots right out front of the vet that say "No Restaurant Parking Until 6 p.m." I will say - their Highland Heights location has some grassy areas for dogs to relieve themselves, but this location only has rocks with some sparse bushes. Not something the vet can control, of course, but something to keep in mind if your pup likes to mark their territory. Checking in for your appointment is smooth. The vet technician got me right back into a room with a very short wait. She was sweet, and gave Kody lots of love throughout the appointment. They took him back into the back for some tests, and then brought him back into the exam room for a few minutes before the vet stopped in. She was also extremely kind -- and they both doted on my dog while checking him out and giving him his shots. The vet said they'd finish up those test results and then come back in shortly to get us on our way. Somehow, something must have gotten lost in translation, because we waited in the exam room for 40 minutes before I finally went out to the front desk and asked if it would be much longer. Apparently, there had been a mix-up, and they apologized profusely. I assured them that no harm was done, and it won't impact whether we'll come here for our veterinary care again. It was just a little inconvenient to be sitting there waiting, thinking someone is going to come back in and see us out. They did take a small discount off of our bill for the trouble. This office is exceedingly clean, the people are great, and you can definitely tell that they all love animals. We'll certainly continue to trust Pet Wow with our pup's wellbeing. read more

This place is terrible. I would not recommend. Not much expertise and not very professional. I hear great things about the Alexandria location but would definitely not recommend this location. The pet care we experienced was mediocre at best. Very disappointed with our experience. I will never again take a pet to Pet Wow in Florence. I have been coming to Pet Wow for my dog's vet care for over 5 years now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I used to be so convenient to be able to get dog baths and vet visits in the same day/drop off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Since I have had up to 4 dogs at one point, it was great that if they had baths the vet visit was free. I made a visit for this morning-bath and vet visit for my Freya that has an abscess, and they informed me that they no longer do the free vet visit with bath. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is not the first time that I was not informed with policy changes that effect cost until after I arrive with my dog...or after receive the bill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A few months ago my lab Troy got sick. They missed the diagnosis. I have a couple co-workers who are vet techs and they both asked me about blood work, and I said that he had never had any. I asked Pet Wow to do labs and it came back as an infection-and later as multiple drug resistant-after weeks of visits and $2000. He never recovered. I love Pet Wow, I've been to both locations and used their mobile vets as well! They have taken care of all my pets through the years with kindness and attention to detail! I love the Florence location, the Dr's and staff are so kind. My fur children feel right at home when they walk in the door, they are always greeted with a smile and lots of belly rubs! Couldn't recommend Pet Wow more, plus their prices are very fair and the convenience of multiple locations and vets that come to your house is wonderful! read more

Incredible staff and vet! I brought in my cat who was much more critically ill than I realized and the staff at Petwow acted so quickly getting her stabilized and truly saved her. Dr Hillary Calland was phenomenal in both her swift action and knowledge but also her compassion. Helping me through an extremely emotional week with my kitty but also helping me get her the best care possible. The office went to great lengths to make me feel comfortable amidst everything and allowed me to see Poppie before I went to work. They just shaved my dog after I said do not shave my dog. They absolutely will never touch my dog again! Had a couple area around her neck that were knotted as she is a Newfoundland/Poodle mix, and shaved her whole body! ABSOLUTELY AWEFUL read more
