An associate named Melissa accused me of stealing roaches. She was extremely rude and accusatory. I was so very surprised and confused. The staff at this location have always been so helpful and friendly when I buy insects for my reptiles. This woman owes me an apology and needs to be educated on how to speak to people in a respectful manner. I have never stolen anything nor do I need to. I walked over with my family to look at the roaches because last time I was in another staff member and I were discussing how to breed the bugs. At that time there was one container of very large adult roaches that would be perfect. I simply looked and it appears they were gone. I don't think I will be returning to this location so long as Melissa works there. very disappointing. She is a nasty human. read more

I've been bringing Skipper to the South Bend store for several years now. Skipper always comes out perfectly clean and soft with nails trimmed well. This is important to me as Skipper's nails are black and I'm scared that if I tried to trim them I would hurt him. I'm very disappointed. Had great experiences before but went in today and they told me they couldn't cut my dog's nails due to him acting up. Told me to take him to the vet, which is what they seem to say to most people now after looking at reviews. I warned them before that he didn't like his nails being trimmed but was better with the drill and that the other groomer we had (from here) said he was a bit stubborn for it. I paid for a bath and brush and it looks like that didn't happen because he has a stubborn area that likes to stick up when he hasn't had a bath and it's still standing up. I feel like I paid $60+ for nothing to get done. The only thing I feel like got done was his teeth brushing because I can't smell his breath anymore. Oh and also, I paid for a scent spray and as I was leaving the girl said " oh my gosh I forgot the spray" and came over and sprayed him a couple times. I was impressed with the veterinarian coming out and talking with us about our two boys when we found out that they need their teeth cleaned by our new groomer. They did a nice job and I asked if they could be neutered at the same time. He said sure. They called and checked on our boys then asked us if we wanted to bring them back in so we didn't worry the entire weekend. So very thoughtful every step of the way! I have been a customer of your store for almost 20 years. I order online frequently. I try to support smaller businesses, and PSP has been one of my favorites. Twice now already this year, I have had a hard time finding the food we normally buy. Natural Balance LID Chicken and Sweet Potato in the 24# bag. Last delivery order in mid-January, there was only 1 bag available. On Saturday, none were available. Which, okay, I get that things happen. I specifically asked the cashier, by brand name, if there was any more in the back. She calls the "manager" up front, and I ask my same question again. The "Manager" walks to where I have just been, looked, and said "Yeah, we are out". I just told 2 people that! I wanted to know if there was any in the back! I was curious WHY they seem to be out lately of that particular flavor and size, but I got nothing more than "We are out." No one offered to see when more might be coming, why availability has been off lately. So, I went out to the car, logged into CHEWY.com and ordered 2 bags of food from them, AS WELL as the Pet Honesty product we buy. So, PSP lost a $200.00 sale. We normally spend at least that every 2 months for our dogs. I called Corporate today, to see if there was a way to make sure our dogs' food is in stock, and was told that is a store issue, not a corporate issue. I had an issue with the same "manager" last fall, when I ordered the wrong flavor online. I couldn't find the receipt. She refused to even exchange it. Did she think I walked out with a big bag of food on my shoulder with no one noticing, only to bring it back to exchange? So, we donated that food to one of the local rescues and spent another $75 to buy the right flavor. This bad review isn't because you didn't have our product. This review is because there doesn't seem to be one person at Pet Supplies Plus who wants to even listen to a customer's issue, without looking for a way to make it NOT their issue. read more

I would leave no star if I could. I basically walked in then out. My son and I were seeking a guinea pig for our one at home since his bonded mate passed. I am disappointed. Their guinea pigs look sick to me, and one is missing a chunk of hair on the front of their face. I dont know the history, but personally, that guinea should have Care away from the others until fully well to go home. I hope my impression is wrong and they are taking care of, but I've heard other things about some of their animals so maybe they need to try to keep up with better care of animals. read more

This pertains to the GROOMING SALON not the store-- Which carries Quality foods Petco and Petsmart don't supply. Unfortunately due to the groomer named Teresa, (Who assured me that she of course know how to do a Bichon TRIM----my dog is practically bald. Huge red rake streaks down his back, uneven patches---he literally looks worse than he did when I brought him in and he now has no fur for the month of November. LOTS of exposed pink skin tho!!! I was suspicious when I walked in to the grooming salon on Sunday and found it completely empty. I should've followed my gut and turned around and walked out. I was happy using the rewards program online shopping until TODAY! First, you could not use the REWARDS program offered unless you ordered online --other pet stores dont have this problem! Then today OUCH you cant get anything added to any online order because the ability to do so upon phoning the store is DOWN. The very young person advised that they could put in a TICKET as I suggested how about an alternative phone order to pick up until your store is UP again. She had a great attitude when I advised I would just start shopping somewhere else in other words no cares about that issue..LOL! A fully satisfied customer, all around! This will be the only groomer we use for our Sadie. Jenn does a great job with her, especially managing our dogs anxiety. She takes her time working with her so that she is comfortable with her. I have never felt worried or uncomfortable when leaving my baby in their care! We cant wait to start bringing our new pup once he is a little older :) As far as the store, I've always found it to be clean, and staff to be extremely helpful & friendly! Very nice staff and clean store. They have a great selection of dog toys, treats, and food; especially organic food. The one time we went there and found a limited selection was for dog storage...they only had one container. They had 5 ferrets and I found one i absolutely fell in love with, the staff told me they could not be sold until Thurs. (today) March 18th, I offered to pay for him and I would pick him up today was told there was no EXCEPTIONS!! it was a first come, first serve, basis. No EXCEPTIONS!! , I got to the store at 8:00 am this morning. Thurs March 18th to purchase my ferret. Doors opened at 9:00am and as I walked toward there cage I noticed the one I had chosen was gone. Took my poodles here to get their hair cut, when I returned to retrieve then one was still being cut, almost 5 hours later. When I walked in my dog was happy to see me and was wagging her tail and smiling at me. The groomer said in a really snotty tone "I can't continue if your going to stand there and make the dog misbehave". I went back outside where cats were in cages and I sat and played with them for 10 minutes while she finished the hair cut. When I informed the manager of how I was treated, she just shrugged and walked away. Never do business with these assholes. read more

Great pet store. I'm from where pets supplies plus got its start, and was surprised and happy to see the SE Michigan company in south bend. The prices are a lot lower than, petco and petsmart and they have the fancy dog foods as well as cheap ones. I get Lucy's (my dogs) nails clipped here. The taller blond girl is the bomb at doing my pups nails, so happy when I go there and she's available. Tuesday is $5 nail clipping day! Personally I don't need much help with buying dog food, but I suppose staff aren't super attentive, but still it's a small store so you could totally ask. All dogs supplies, such as treats, collars, harnesses, toys are very reasonably priced. Whenever I happen to stop into the other dog stores in blown away with how expensive they are. Well I took my 6m0s old cocker spaniel for his first hair cut mind you he was the first appt of the day, when I arrived they didnt even know he was coming the groomer was late, she did absolutely nothing and charged me 25. Now the company has my email and I did notify them of my experience still haven't heard a word, also the young lady wasn't experienced enough to be by herself she blamed my puppy for being the reason she couldn't groom him, to playful, took him right to PetSmart where Jenna did a fabulous job on my Teddy, they'll be getting my 65/ plus tip from here on out. read more

You have a great store but your tags are worthless ! You get no credit for using them, no special coupons for having my information or email so why bother having the tags? I have shopped at your store for several years. My receipt shows this site for" My Opinion Matters" a chance to win a gift card but it only takes me to your home page. This place is great in that they allow you to take your dogs in, as long as they stay cool.I have been buying dog and cat food , and sometimes bird food too, for at least 12 years. Its' only about 6 blocks from my house, and the staff have almost always been very helpful and nice. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 id because they don't have one single really generic brand, the kind that is 2.99 for five pounds when you don't want to spend $20 on a bag of cat food, just enough to get one thru til the next paycheck. The range of products they sell is amazing. They even have a machine that etches out dog and cat tags. I love this place. read more
