I was on the store about a month ago to purchase 2 replacement gold fish for my grandson who's 3. My cat got to the original we bought at Meijers. You were closer and on my way home. The man working refused to sell me 2 goldfish because I only had a 3 gallon bowl. It has a filter and pump. He must have told me 5-6 times he would not sell me them to me. They would not survive more than two weeks. They are happy and healthy living the life. You keep 50-75 in your tank. I would not have held you responsible for the death of 2 fish under a dollar. i went in to get my cat groomed. this was my first time ever taking a pet to get groomed so i didn't really know what to expect. i get in and bring my cat to the grooming area and they asked all the usual questions like, "do you have your vet records" "do i have any reason to assume your pet is aggressive" etc. the groomer then tells me to give her a few hours and she will call me to come and pick him up. i leave and 15 minutes later as i'm pulling up to my house i get a call from petsmart. the groomer says that i need to come and get my cat and that he is "freaking out". she tells me that she got him fully shaved and that she got his nails clipped but she could not give him a bath or finish the rest of the services because he would not allow her to. i get there to pick up my cat and he is not fully shaved at all, she's only shaved his back and part of his tail, he's not even shaved down evenly for what she did get done, and his nails were partially clipped, as if she started to do one paw and did not do the rest. she claims that when she turned the water on my cat started to go crazy. my cat loves running water he thinks that it's the most interesting thing ever, he will even get into the water as long as it's only touching his paws, he only freaks out when you force him fully into water. he was not wet in any way so she did not put any water on him. i asked her if there was a problem with his behavior and she told me not at all. when i asked her why she did not finish the other services before trying to give him a bath and she gave me the same answer which was "he freaked out". she told me that she would not be trying to finish the rest of the services and that she would only charge me for his UNFINISHED haircut and nothing else. i had to pay 30 dollars for a half shaved cat. mind you, when she asked me if i wanted him shaved down, i said "a litte" and she told me that there would be no guards on the blades and that i get the choice between bald shaved or not shaved at all. as i was leaving she also continued to recommend me products to buy so that i could give him a bath on my own at home as if i was going to give them more money to finish what she was supposed to do. i went home and gave my cat a bath myself without any of the professional equipment they have and had no problems doing it. thanks a lot petsmart "groomers" and i will not be retuning. read more

Purchased a guinea pig here. Well, late last week he became ill. We called petsmart to see what they suggested. The manager told us to bring him in and they would do a return. He told us that in order for them to send him to a vet they had to have ownership of our guinea pig. We expressly told them that before any decision was made that we wanted to be in the loop. We were reassured by the manager that we would be called with an update as to what was happening(had our names/phone #'s). Friday passes.. all of Saturday passes without word. So, being that he is a member of our family we call. The lady that answers transfers me to the person that is in charge of animal care at the Elkhart location. I explained the situation to her.. explained that we were waiting on word about our pig. She then abruptly tells me that he was the property of petsmart and that they had him put down because the vet did not believe that he had a chance to survive. That was our decision. Per our conversation with this "manager" we expressly told him that we wanted to be in the loop and that we wanted him back. Period. We were only doing this off of the recommendation of him. They murdered our animal. Our family member. Those of you that have animals understand what I am talking about. He was family. If he was going to pass, he should have been with family. Period. That decision to put to sleep was ours. Something that the manager promised. This facility is disgusting. Cannot fathom how people like the animal care lady can work in there with such a callous attitude towards pets and the people that love them. She needs to find a new line of work. To the manager. In the future, tell the truth. Your lies disgust us. We will never return and will spread this story as wide and far as possible so that another family does not have to deal with a situation like this. Shame on all of you. read more

Very friendly in here. I'm actually a fan of Petsmart. Nice employees, good selection, nice prices. Seems very clean and safe. Dogs are allowed (which everyone probably already knows). Came here and got Christmas photos with Santa. That was cool. If you haven't been, stop in and give it a look. Always some kittens for adoption to play with and it's the cheapest place for us to get our dog food. We like it much more than Pet Valu. read more

Love Petsmart south bend....the groomers there are Awesome and do a great job. I take my dog here for grooming every 6 weeks.

I have two dogs. One is 5 pounds and the other is 7. It cost me $45 for each to have them groomed! I was told initially that it would cost $40, then was given an extra charge for each because one's ears were matted and the other dog kept rolling over and showing his belly during grooming. I felt the initial charge was steep! Then I got whacked for another $10! They provided a service. They did a good job. The dogs smelled great for days afterward. But the cost...just too much for my little guys! read more

I have taken my dogs to Pet Smart Grooming for years. It is always hit or miss with the groomers. About the time you get a good one they quit or get promoted within the store. This last grooming was the worst ever. The toenails were not even trimmed. I called to give management a chance to rectify the situation and was put on hold for 10 minutes. When I hung up and called back was again placed on hold for 5 minutes. I hung up the second time, totally frustrated. I have since found a local groomer that does a fantastic job. Thank you Pet Smart for being so consistently bad I was forced to find someone else. Plus my local groomer is cheaper by about 25 dollars. read more
