We were cycling another aquarium for Cychlids and went to Keepin It Reef, best decision we have made in years. In the end Reisa asked if we really wanted Cychlids, because our desire and discussion was really better suited for a change to Saltwater. Reisa and Joel patiently walked us through the pros and cons and that afternoon we had drained our aquarium and we were cycling Saltwater. We visited several times for free water checks and to pick their brains as we "patiently " waited for the tank to cycle. Well today is my wife's birthday and we visited again with hopes that our tank had cycled to a point where it was safe to introduce the first fish. Reisa, Joel and Alexa confirmed that the tank was there and we are so excited to welcome our first pair of Clownfish. If you are looking for a well stocked store with a knowledgeable team that have the patience of a Kindergarten teacher, but the expertise of a professor...then look no more. It seems like there are so many independent pet stores in Denver (I just moved here) and this is the first one that I checked out. I have a handful marked already on my googlemaps and so now I have added this one as well! Anyway, Zoey's place was full of high-end, unique and locally made finds. I got a couple of peacock feathers for my 2 cats which they loved chasing and munching on. I also got them some dried animal organs (forgot what they are exactly and it's not exactly clear by looking at them) which they were momentarily interested in (as cats do...). I also took a pic of some more expensive healthy food that they were out of the smaller bag of to remember it. Maybe they will have the smaller bag next time I am in Littleton. I love the stores in this area!

What I really liked was the vast choices and quantities of frozen raw food. A food type I feed my dogs as often as possible. The staff were exceptionally nice and the shop dog made me smile. She was very friendly and super interested in what I was buying. I left with a few new toys and some fish skins my dogs absolutely love. I don't live especially close to this business but if I did, I'd sure stop in to shop the raw foods. The only reason this isn't a five star review is the prices. We now have a fishtank with 2 frogs and 5 fish and we got everything from this store (moss balls, tank decorations, the animals themselves, food, chemicals, filters, etc.), I come here once a month for dog food, and we even did a beginner dog training class with Andrew, who I'm not sure is still there but he was excellent. Do your own research on fish. Some of the staff are very knowledgeable, others will just try to get you to buy something. They sold us a single neon fish that was actually a schooling fish and the salesperson said it would school with the other types of fish in our tank, which wasn't true, and I think that neon died of loneliness after a few months. I started out with one frog and specifically asked, do I need a pair, which they answered no, but turns out frogs need friends so I went back for a second and they are doing fine. Anyway, it's what you would expect! Staff are friendly and helpful but please do your own research.

I had an appointment set up to have my two little dogs groomed. I was called at the last minute to…read moresay their groomer had some sort of an issue and wouldn't be available. They told me they would call if there was a cancellation. They finally called after weeks of waiting. The new groomer didn't seem interested at all about my dogs. After picking up my dogs, I found the groomer never even washed or groomed their faces or trimmed their nails. I was not pleased with how they turned out. The owner did refund a portion of the bill, but I will never use their grooming services again!
