This is a great local store for dog food and other dog supplies. They do have limited brands which kind of sucks because they didn't have what I wanted so I tried switching my dog over and he wasn't a fan of what I bought so I have to go to other pet stores for that. However, they have a great selection of other items. They have marrow bones in the freezer that my dog loves. One thing they don't have is the smoked femur marrow bones. I wish they had those. Pet X is THE place to get everything for your pets. The staff is nothing short of WONDERFUL. They have guided us through so many minor and not so minor challenges of having a dog for the first time in many years. While I admit we have supplemented our toy supply with some bargain basement toys but that's because our dog is a masterful chewer! And yet we've gotten all our dog food and most of our dog snacks from Pet X. They carry great brands - gluten free and foods that meet other high quality dietary specifications. Service was terrible. We called ahead (less than 2 hours before) to see if they accept walk-ins for dog nail trims. The lady said yes as long as they are not busy and told us they weren't busy today. When we arrived the lady at the counter looked at us like we broke into her house and said they are closed and just come back. This was the same lady that we had spoken to on the phone. OMG!!!! Absolutely LOVE this pet store! Seriously, they sell top of the line product for our fur-babies. They have everything from organic bison bone broth to free dried meats! All your generic pet stores have pet food n treats packed full of bad preservatives and chemicals! But not Pet X! I'm up visiting family (currently live in SC due to military orders) and I wished they had a Pet X in Beaufort, SC. Would be a huge game changer! Highly recommended for any pet owner, because they're not just a pet, they're family! Also the customer service/employees were super nice and helpful the 3 times we've been in the past month! I had a disastrous first experience with the grooming salon years ago. This summer I desperately needed to get my dogs grinned and this was the only groomer I could get into on time. I'm SO glad I did! The job they did last summer was impressive but today they did the near impossible! My 100 pound Anatolian Shepherd Dog was blowing his coat in a spectacular way. Here looked like a toy with the stuffing coming out all over. The groomer returned him to us perfectly bathed, brushed, and with clean ears and trimmed nails. And he smells great! His Boxer mix brother is also perfectly groomed. Whatever changes they made over the years has paid off. They're fantastic now! read more

This is a VERY STRESSFUL place to take your dog!!!! Your pet is already stressed out to get groomed and then all I hear is the staff arguing and cussing in the back while the poor Lil' animals are trying to stay calm while getting groomed. read more

While this is cute little pet boutique, they are really bad at keeping items in stock. The employees are also anti-vaxers and that also extends to pets. Don't bother asking about certain things when it comes to your pet's vaccinations, you'll get a whole lecture and it's just not worth your time read more

Took my small dog in there who is extremely timid and frightened but very sweet. And then immediately upon taking her from our arms they said "come here you little brat" and if I had heard that I would have absolutely flipped out! Nobody ever disrespects me or my dog that way!!Since I didn't hear it, they shaved her down and it was quick, thank God. But we saw them dragging a big poodle or some dog across the floor to put them in the cage and it was so frightened and they were not trying to comfort the poor dog whatsoever. Now my dog had blood spots different places probably from being nicked or her nails were too short. I'm just so livid I'm shaking. We are going back to Noble in Howell because they may take longer to get an appointment but everyone there has been so kind and professional and genuinely love dogs and my dog is my life and they do not want to mess with me when it comes to the safety and common courtesy to my DOG! She's only 9lbs and sweetheart! If you don't like working with dogs or have compassion then leave the profession!!!!! read more

I can't speak for the grooming part of this place because I've never used their services, but I absolutely love this store. They have a HUGE selection of treats (including all kinds of natural, grain free, organic types) and toys and a great deal on the dog food I buy. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that it is absolutely impossible for me to get in and out of here in a timely fashion because the cashiers never stop talking. Yes it's great that they're friendly, but I'm quite often standing in line holding a heavy bag of dog food while they finish chatting with a regular customer. The last time I went in, the cashier tried to keep engaging me in conversation as I was trying to walk out the door, it was super awkward. Overall though, awesome store. It's so nice to have such a great alternative to the chain pet stores. read more

Don't take your babies the these groomers! I scheduled an appointment for my cat to be washed and groomed, a dog to have her teeth brushed and another dog to have a cut and grooming. As I was walking out I heard a groomer exclaim "I hate brushing dogs teeth, I don't want to do this" And it appeared they didn't My cat when groomed elsewhere will not shed for sometime. After a visit to pet x she still has mats under her neck, she is losing hair all over the place as she was not even brushed out. And I actually had to wait two weeks to post this to calm down after seeing the butcher job they did on my Brussels Griffon I asked that her legs and head be kept long and just trimmed and the body be cut shorter. My poor dog was shaved between the eyes... All hair is gone, her body was all shaved thick and short Her legs were all cut short It's horrible I barely recognize her These very young girls did not listen to my requests at all Did not do anything to my cat or brush the other dogs teeth. They have no business advertising as groomers I do a much better job with zero training The store has a nice selection of raw food. read more

The groomers were so rude. I took my cat in to get a bath after she had been lost outside for a while. I wasn't sure how she would react since she was older and had never had to go to a groomer before. I told them her story, how she had been lost for a while then found and brought back to me and I wanted her clean because she was full of dander and wasn't well taken care of while she was away from me. They said it was fine and there would be no problems. I went back an hour or so later and asked to talk to the groomer to see how she had done. The girl at the front went to the back and was back there for a while then came out and said the groomer was busy and wouldn't talk to me. I couldn't believe it, a paying customer and the groomer refused to talk to me. So I asked the girl up front how my cat did and she was like "Fine, I guess". The first and last time I ever took any of my animals there. As for the supply part of the store......the prices are completely ridiculously inflated. I found a collar for my dog that was $30 at Pet X and at TSC it was $15. The same exact collar. I will never go back to this place, go to TSC or order off the internet and get the exact same product for way less. Edit: I did try to contact the owner on many various occasions and was told she was busy or out of the office so I left my name and number and reason for calling and not one time did I ever get a reply from anyone about anything. I can support local businesses and don't mind paying extra to help them out but with being treated so disrespectfully by everyone involved, I don't feel the need to support this place. read more

I was blown away by the experience I had today. I have a two year old St. Bernard who was having trouble gaining weight due to picky eating habits. I really wanted to find the right food for him that would help him gain weight the right way, the healthy way. The diet the vet gave us failed as he was disinterested. LINDSAY was the first to offer help. I told her what I was looking for and she took me on a tour explaining all the products and how to use them (even if pairing raw/dry food and how to portion it). She took me through the different treats and what they are and how they are made. They carry so many things I have never seen before. Their treat/rawhide/natural stuffed bone section was amazing. The knowledge she shared with me was so in depth I asked her how many classes she had to take to work there lol. The answer was NONE. I was literally floored with how knowledgeable she was (with cats as well-I have those too). It was obvious she was a scholar digestive health of both cats and dogs. What impressed me most you might ask? When you get into having a companion you have paid a lot for and love like a child, you don't think twice about getting them the best nutrition. They showed me top of the line food and treats and sent me home with a giant bag of samples and they also offer the brochures for the foods. She took the time to educate me on the samples individually as well as instruct me on which brands offer frequent buyer rewards. On check out, AMANDA was friendly and informative as well. She also took the time to give me teaching and invited me to a free seminar they were offering on pet nutrition from a well known animal nutrition expert (I didn't know him, buy I did google him and he is a pretty big deal). All in all I don't think I will be hitting another chain store anytime soon. Super impressed with this customer service. You can tell they care about animals and they have a ton of knowledge. LINDSAY talked about different allergens and things that don't pertain to my dog, however it didn't fall on deaf ears. I happen to have a friend who has to get allergy shots for her Newfoundland. When I return, and I WILL return, I am going to ask for some samples for her and get her a gift card to go in. I really loved my experience there. I would highly recommend this store. read more
