I stopped here on the way back from Santa Rosa. I wanted to get some gas, use the restroom, and check out the store. The gas prices were fair for a station next to the freeway. Not cheap, and not really high. The restroom is outside the building. You get a key from the friendly clerk. The restroom is simple, but clean. The store is lightly stocked, but has all the essentials. I didn't see any beer in the coolers. The place was brightly lit, clean and organized. When passing thru Petaluma, this is where I stop for gas. Hwy 101 ramps are close by. read more

Saw this milk mustache little guy up for adoption on the Santa Rosa animal shelter website and had to jump in the car and snap him up asap. Was on the way to the shelter way up north. Usually before a road trip of this type I would fill up the car and kick the tires but this guy was too cute and I couldn't risk somebody else snapping him up. I thought I could make it but then maybe 10 or 20 miles away my car went on "E." I felt like Kramer from Seinfeld when he did his worlds longest test drive and wouldn't stop till the car would stop from lack of fuel. I couldn't risk getting stranded and deal with AAA bringing me fuel - that happened once in the middle of the desert and I had enough of that, enough. To play it safe in the best interest of Mr. Mustache I stopped to get fuel here. I was in the mood for some midgrade idk my aunt said that is the perfect one to get. With her ancient Japenese wisdom I rarely question. The gas station itself is super convenient to the freeway. So close. It couldn't have been closer. That was my initial draw to the place - I saw it was directly on route and valued the time saving advantage over other better stops. Also fueling up were lots of people taking roadtrips to somewhere. Lots of big trucks and campers. I'm not sure where these people were going - I didn't ask them and since I was in a hurry I wasn't about to chat it up. I think mid grade was $5.05 a few days ago when I went. Prices were a little higher than the cheapest especially considering this is non top tier fuel. I like top tier fuel. I like milk mustaches on cute little furry friends. What more can I say? read more

I filled up premium plus at the station yesterday ad my car was on reserve. And right after this my car was missing, loosing power when cruising at 60 to 70. I looked at my fuel filter which is a clear bowl and I could see milky residue. When pumping this out of the fuel filter to a separate container the water absolutely separated in to 2 mediums. Oil and water. I called them and got a helpful but apologetic employee that said later in the day they got a fuel delivery. I asked for a call back ad apparently the AM crew is the management. I just moved to the area and stopped in for gas. While I was pumping a worker came out to change the trash bags by the pumps and such. She said hello and had the nicest conversation with me. I don't think I've ever left a gas station feeling happier than when I arrived, but today I did. read more

I stopped here while driving because I was having a really bad time. I was in the middle of a panic attack and went in to get some water. An employee, Ashley, said that she really liked my shirt. Ok, I've read some of the harsh reviews for this gas station, and I can't defend them against all of them, but I will say, that for propane, if you get there between 8am and noon, they have two people on staff and getting propane is not an issue. I filled up 6 tanks today without any issues. I spoke with one of the guys and according to him, it wasn't their fault that they couldn't sell propane when they were there alone, it was the owners decision. That rule has changed, now, if there is only one person working, they can lock the door and come out and fill your propane tank. If someone comes to the door, they will finish filling your tank, (if you only have one tank), then go help the store customer. If you have more than one tank, they will come back out when they can. It makes sense, since the profit margin on propane is far less than the drinks and snacks in the store. It's just business people, get over it. As for the rest of the reviews about slow pumps and workers making out with their significant others, I've never seen it, so I can't comment on it. read more

Very helpful gasoline station I don't usually have allegiances to gas stations, but this Valero station is an exception. By chance, I happened to fill-up at this station, and upon starting my car to leave after filling the tank, the attendant RUNS out and tells me the air filter in my car sounds like it needs replacing. I thought I checked the thing recently (I know some basic auto maintenance), but HE WAS RIGHT! I appreciate that kind of customer service. My car is going to have Valero gas in it for now on. read more

This gas station is the closest one to my home so I kept going there despite several disappointing experiences, but I'm done. I've tried to buy propane here three times and was told they weren't selling it that day. The first time the guy said they didn't have the staff. The second time there were two people working yet they said it was unavailable. The third time the clerk was more interested in making out with her boyfriend behind the counter than selling. Again I was turned away. There is a sandwich board on the curb stating that they sell propane. Another time I tried to key in my zip code after swiping my card and found the #9 key didn't work. I went inside and told an older woman (I presume is the owner) and she proceeded to argue with me saying nothing was wrong with the keypad. Why argue with a customer over something like that? They also don't maintain the window washing supplies; the squeegees are all completely falling apart and useless and the water smells like sewage. read more

Had a nightmare of a experience here but not due to the store staff or anything you would think. I was filling up some fuel heading northbound HWY 101 and like an idiot left my wallet at the counter. The attendant there didn't get a chance to stop me before leaving (there was a long line behind me) and when I finally noticed I was just getting on the freeway which means I had to drive all the way to the next off ramp then turn around all the while thinking about the sentimental photo, the pain in the arse it will be to cancel the credit bank cards and request and wait for new ones. Go to DMV and get a new DL. Oh man I'm reliving the PTSD just by telling the story. Needless to say the attendant saved it for me and everything was there. Also said one of the customers in line tried to snag it and they stopped them short of taking it. Thank goodness for humanity & kindness. Much appreciated Valero Petaluma. Even though they have the facilities don't go here expecting to refill your propane tanks. Every time I've stopped in hoping to fill my tank they say "sorry there is no one here to refill propane"... Why do they even have a tank and signs advertising they perform the service if they can't? False advertising in my book. read more

Not a big gas station, but it was the most convient for the direction we were heading. The attendant was busy on her cell phone, and I was an inconvenience for her when trying to buy road snacks and drinks. Also the gas pumps fill latch was broken so I had to stand there and hold the lever the entire time when I should have been washing my windows--- ohh wait, there wasn't any window squeegies to clean my windows with.... find another station read more

I have to say petaluma valero is an excellent gas station. one guy came in gave the chick a hundred thought it was a twenty, cashier ran out to give him the eighty dollars. Ok! Honesty...honesty is quality. Lets see they dont do debit inside because no cash back duh!! Most the customers there come there because the cashiers are so friendly. some people have bad days, People going to get gas are usually in a hurry and can be so rude whatever.
