I chose these groomers after another local grooming facility left a 2 inch gash in my 3 pound poodle and did not even notify me of it. I saw it after bringing her home. I called and was given excuses but not not any type of apology. My dogs never returned to that facility. My only concern is that the time they are going to be there is not consistent, ranging from 4 hrs to 6 or 7. However I do understand that there are many reasons it would be difficult to keep a consistent schedule. This concern however does not deter me from taking them there. We have 2 mini goldendoodles and because there are not many groomers in Bar Harbor Maine we had to wait quite a while to get an appointment. The front desk staff was very friendly and efficient. I was checked in quickly and they said they would give me a call when they were finished. I dropped them off around 8:30am and was able to pick them up around 1:30pm. They listened to what I was looking for and did a great job with their hair. They could have went a little bit shorter on the head but overall they looked great! Would absolutely come back when we visit the area again!

The staff is so kind and cares so deeply about each pet. My family always gets so sad when we have to go on long trips away from our dog, but we always feel so comfortable leaving our pup in Carden's hands. When we ask our dog, "do you want to go see friends?" he knows that means he's going to Cardens. He gets so excited, hops up on his hind legs, and tries to jump in his travel bag. We know how much he loves Cardens and Cardens loves him!

When they called to say he was ready, they said nothing about any surgical work. When I arrived, I was shocked to learn they had REMOVED 16 TEETH. They did this WITHOUT CONSENT. The vets response when I asked for explanation was "we normally do call that's my bad". They are very clear about not having dental X-ray capabilities, so removing teeth was purely on feel not at all based in data or scans. I'm now filing a formal complaint with the Maine State Board of Veterinary Medicine. I haven't slept well since knowing I put my darling cat through that I completely feel helpless and so distressed. This was my experience. If you come here, be extremely clear about what you do and do not consent to.

You always have the sense that she is treating your pet as though she is treating her own. I have not only been impressed with the care that we receive but also the practice itself. The Lucerne Veterinary Hospital is a state-of-the-art clinic (which is not always easy to find in Maine) and all of the staff express as much warmth and concern as the Vets themselves. We travel quite a bit and even when I need remote advice or help after hours they have always been extremely responsive and caring. We have taken our cats to many different clinics over the years (in many different cities as we have moved around a bit) and I have never received care like I did with Dr. Monk. I have strongly recommended this clinic to everyone I know.

When we got our 12 week old puppy Lido, we were eager to bring him to Your Dog's Inn, and really…read morehad no idea how much he'd need the type of program that Elizabeth provides. He was a rescue puppy from a foster home in Georgia, and we had never met him before picking him up at the transport drop off. His foster mom had told us that he was a bit of an Alpha and he was very affectionate. Well, once we got him we learned he was more than a bit of an Alpha, that he hadn't been properly socialized with other dogs, he was dominant, and high energy. Elizabeth determined this during his assessment but said she would take him. On day two Elizabeth confirmed suspicions that my husband and I had that Lido was not the Lab mix that the rescue told us we were getting, that he was indeed a Pit Bull. I don't have anything against Pit Bulls, but the news did have an effect on how I felt about the whole situation. After five days of going to Elizabeth's, Lido was a totally changed pup. By using exercise, discipline, and appropriate affection, Lido was listening, he was calm, and sleeping through the night without any accidents. Elizabeth was very informative, caring, and really teaching us how to raise our puppy. It's clear that she's passionate about her work, and she does it very well. Sadly, Lido was sent back to Georgia after having him for two weeks. Though he was behaving, I had a sense of unease around him and I knew eventually that would transfer to him and possibly make him aggressive towards me. I didn't think waiting to see if that feeling would go away would be good for either one of us, so my husband and I made the really hard decision to send him back to the rescue. Elizabeth was wonderfully understanding when I told her, and really helped in making me see there was nothing wrong with me, that he just wasn't the puppy for us. We'll get another puppy someday, but we'll take our time and research breeds that would work for us, and make sure to meet the puppy before bringing him/her home. I was so impressed with what spending two weeks in Elizabeth's care did for Lido that we'll definitely return when we get another puppy.

Originally she was only going to go 3 days per week, but the owner and Pack leader Elizabeth quickly observed that Lucy might be more suited for the puppy program which would be 5 days per week. I can't thank Elizabeth enough for allowing Lucy to be part of her puppy program, after only 2 1/2 months, the difference is amazing. I have a wonderful dog I enjoy spending time with and all of my time is not spent having to discipline her or correct her over and over. She comes home tired, she greets visitors at the door like a lady and her habit of stealing everything that was not nailed down has almost completely stopped. Elizabeth is upfront & honest right from the beginning when she meets you for the first time and observes your dog. She tells it like it is and I find that very refreshing as it helps to alleviate any misunderstandings concerning her expectations and what she can offer her clients from her program. Your Dog's Inn is a clean, safe, interactive place where your dog can learn how to interact with other dogs (big and small) in a positive way. Elizabeth often videos and posts the antics of her "pack" which allows us to see and enjoy their progress on a regular basis. We recently came in for his annual shots and exam. I lugged 2 kids and my 100lb boy in luckily with the help of my husband who took a few hours off work to help. We came in got his shots and a very very lazy exam. I paid $89 for her to listen to his chest and try to talk me into getting him extra shots. My dog is a healthy boy so we paid the amount she asked and as we left the ladies up front talked to us and wished us well. 2 hours later I get a call that they didn't charge me enough and the lady demanded I give her my card number over the phone. I said no I will need to look at my receipt and I can come in person if needed. I asked for her to explain how I was not charged enough and she said "I don't know the girl was dyslexic with the numbers. She charged you 120 and it was supposed to be more and you need to pay the remainder now". I told her I will come in and pay it when I'm able to since i will not be giving my card over the phone. I'm fine with paying for my services but the way she talked to me over the phone she acted like I walked out without paying. I wasn't able to get my kids out again and go in so my husband did the next day to pay the remaining balance. They made a mistake and instead of apologizing and trying to be nice about it I was talked to like I was a criminal. I was going to be brining my other German shepherd and get them neutered here but after their mistake and the way they treated me over it I will not be bringing either dog here anymore.
