I'd give zero stars if I could. I brought my senior dog in for a routine nail trim, and from the moment Carol took him to the back, he was treated poorly. She placed the leash tightly around his neck and dragged him toward the grooming area. The door hit him in the face as she walked through. Watching this was shocking and unacceptable! Once on the table, my dog was visibly distressed, shaking and drooling. Despite this, she raised the table while he tried to escape and ignored his obvious fear. A restraint was placed around his neck, and he began violently whipping his head back and forth while she did nothing to comfort or calm him. My partner couldn't continue watching because it was so upsetting. I eventually had to ask staff to console and soothe my dog something that should never have been necessary!!! When they finally returned him, only about half of his nails had been trimmed. I left feeling like I paid for my dog and myself to be emotionally traumatized. I will never return to this location and will be warning friends and family with pets to avoid it as well. read more

Disappointing comes to mind based on today's experience. Yes, I ordered ahead online and the order was ready for pickup in less than 20 minutes, that part was great. What was frustrating was getting here, only to feel like I'm at the DMV or some other place where you as the customer are clearly not the priority, and the person "working" at the counter isn't ashamed of hiding that fact! I stood by the "please wait for the next available cashier" sign for a good while watching this cashier kibitzing with a colleague for several minutes, how special! At least their colleague got a hug, that's sweet. Am I somehow out of line for believing that type of thing should wait for the break room, or at least a time when people aren't standing around waiting for service? At least I didn't waste time actually shopping inside the the store before needlessly standing in line witnessing this spectacle. I'm sorry to have gotten in the way! Next time I'd suggest acknowledging the waiting customers, if there is a next time. read more

Special shout outs to Debbie at the Street Rd Bensalem location. I found out my cat had Chicken, Turkey, and Beef allergies. She spent a significant amount of time helping me find a limited ingredients canned food that I would be able to feed him. We had a great in depth discussion about nutrition, always excused herself to help out her teammates, and would come back to see how I was making out! I was disappointed in discovering there was a limited selection of food offered but made due with what they had. I'm glad I was able to buy cans instead of committing to cases since the prices are quite high to be stuck with food he may not eat. For those dealing with allergy issues, I will post the selections I found were the best options. Reading labels thoroughly matters. I do not feed fish products and after reading labels out of desperation, I discovered there are beef and chicken added to those as well. Sigh. Thank you for your help Debbie. Update 2/22/2021 For anyone who knows when your pet has a cast you have to keep them dry and clean..especially being a puppy you need to watch a little more to avoid the puppy getting an infection. I had 2 trips planned that i would usually have him go to my friends house and her daughter would play with him all day but to make sure his bandages stayed clean during both trips and that he was able to eat and not rip at his bandages i had to book an actual sitter and also to admit his antibiotics. Petco was aware of all of this and the general manager Debbie stated that it should be a problem for them to refund me..she contacted the district manager and he/she stated them paying for the ER visit is the best they will do! So here's an update to say nothing got better and i will be looking into legal action i suggest if you love your pet you don't take them there! Matter a fact this reflects on all Petco locations! They all need to be shut down! What i posted on IG December 18th 2020 - I'm pissed and sad everytime i look at Dior i just want to cry. My puppy is under 6 months old. This was his second visit to petco for a grooming service. His Stylist is Danielle R Fyi I took him December 14th,2020. This is the week of the snowstorm but i wanted to get him on a grooming schedule for every 3-4 weeks. So i dropped him off and switched my initial selection to a puppy bath, nail trim, oral care and trim around the face, genitals and paws. He was scared but i just figured he was stressed because there was a storm coming less than 2 days later. I dropped him off at around 5:35 to 2 ladies i assume would hold responsibility for grooming him. I was called roughly around 7pm to come pick him up. During the call i was never told that my puppy was being difficult or anything. When i get there they placed a purple bandage over his paw they invite me in to the space where he gets his paws trimmed and fur trimmed i assume and show me his paw. Explained that he was a bit more aggressive and there was an accident. I didn't realize how bad the accident was until i took my puppy to VSEC right after. They showed me but I'm not a medical professional so i just stated i will take him to get seen. The ladies at petco stated he didn't need to go right away because it was just a little nip and he will heal fine. I got to VSEC and one of the attendants stated pets come in injured all the time from the same Tech! So now I'm upset because it seems this individual is not trained or just doesn't give a damn. Now my 5.5 month old puppy is on antibiotics and I have to take him to the VSEC to change his bandages every couple of days..not only is he affected but i now have to worry about PTSD. The amount of time it's going to take his injury to heal means the injury was more than just a little accident. There's literally a chunk of his paw missing that can't be stitched together. So the skin has to take its time and harden in that area!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO PETCO. Not only is my puppy affected but now my routine is also affected. Stay away from Petco. read more

Absolutely love this Petco! When I first got my dog, I asked them questions about what a good diet was for him and so on. They gave me a lot of information as to what was best for him and just in case I chose to change his food, how to change it without hurting his stomach and so on. Today I took my dog Charlie to the groomers and the staff there was super friendly. They listened to Charlie's back story and were very understanding when it came to him. They saw how scared he was to be on the table, so they put him back on the ground and sat there taking care of his nails and ears. I am coming back here! We need more people like them who are compassionate, kind, and understanding to an animals needs. I highly recommend coming here. read more

For the pet grooming service. You have to pay extra so that they don't crate your dog. So even if you are the only person there and have a scheduled apt. They can still decide that they want to stop your service for your dog. Crate them. Work on another persons dog. And then take them back and finish up. How does this make sense even if you had a scheduled apt? I asked they do not crate my dog bc they are not sanitary and at another location my dog got laryngitis when they did so. Won't go back there or any petco location. read more

I was very unhappy with the older woman who cut my Buddy's nails on 11-17-19. She was very unfriendly and looked very mean. She really looked like she did not like her job or our dog either. Our dog looked scared of her as well. Lastly, she did not say anything to us when she was done trimming his nails. We thanked her and she turned around and walked away! I didn't even get in there to take my dog for his "Spa Day" and the woman who answered the phone sounded as if I bothered her. If she is that bothered by answering the phone how nasty will she be with my dog. So.....I've been a customer for few years. My pup had an appointment literally right before COVID 19 shut down grooming. I was assured I would be the first called once stuff reopened. I pleaded that my pup would desperately need grooming by then, again they assured me I would be first. So NEVER GOT A CALL, and I finally called them on 7-23 to ask when they will open and told, oh they've been open and the earliest my overgrown pup can be seen is end of July!!! Will never take my dog back to this location. I get a call that my dog was done with his bath/cut and when I get there the two younger female groomers must've not heard as I walked in. I stood there for a couple of minutes hearing them yell at my dog to "shut up" "your barking isn't necessary shut up!" I had enough of it so I walked over to the back door and knocked to have them give me my dog back. It's disgusting and unacceptable to talk to MY dog in that manner. He is a dog. He is going to bark in an unfamiliar place. The 15 yrs of owning him makes him a very important part of my family and hearing them yell at him in that manner broke my heart and I immediately burst into tears. I'm appalled by this situation and will never go back to that location. I wanted this trip here to be a good experience . I'd just gotten a 9 week old puppy from another place and was so excited to shop here (I spent almost $500 dollars btw . Not including what my family had spent .) and it was far from that . While finishing up my shopping , I could over hear the employees talking about locking the doors (notice how I mention finishing up .) they had done NO previous announcements within the store but at the VERY last minute for store closing . I heard all of them laughing and being very unprofessional saying "can people not hear?" Not even a minute went by from the first LATE announcement and they were already ready to talk crap about their customers . Going back and forth I heard "I guess it's just going to be one of those nights" all while I stood there quickly grabbing a dog tag for my new puppy . Maybe 3 minutes goes by and this older woman tells the two younger employees while I'm being rung up "well I'm going home ." She leaves , comes back in , and right before leaving again says out loud "good luck ! Have fun with the crazies !" I couldn't believe I'd heard it much less that it was done right in front of me and my two family members that had just come up to the registers . So unprofessional ! If they wanted to get out SO bad they should have done an announcement earlier instead of one at the very last minute and expect everyone to start running to the doors . Ridiculous !! Brooke in grooming is the best.. My dogs always look perfect - and they aren't there for hours on end.. She is so sweet and kind to all of the dogs, I feel very comfortable leaving my furbabies with her. I highly recommend her. It amazes me how rude employees that work at this location are. When a company hires adolescent unprofessional insolent cashiers to do a simple task, help a customer and arrogantly reject assisting, this is what happens. I had such a disgusting experience at this Petco location. The two gentlemen (older man and younger man) that were working on the floor helped me to the best of their abilities. But the young girl cashier was rude and her attitude was very distasteful. She must not grasp what exactly Customer Service entails. Her nasty attitude is not one of her responsibilities as a Petco employee, correct? Also the store manager was "too busy" to come out of their office. After going to several grooming salons in bucks county we've found the groomers who actually love our kids! Groomers are very courteous and friendly. Even making appointments is never problem they have flexible schedule and very understanding in case if you're running few minutes behind or need to reschedule. I myself drive 35 mins to come to this location but it's so worth it I highly recommend this place to all pet owners who are looking for some great grooming with friendly service. I was there about a month ago buying my puppy some food, treats and toys. I had my puppy with me and it was hard to hold his leash along with the 20-some pound of dog food, the treats and the toys. I grabbed the food, left it at the counter and shopped for the other items. When I got to the counter, I still had my hands full. The young girl working the register came out from behind the register and took all of my items out of my hands because she seen that I was struggling. Then she brought over a cart and after ringing me up put all of my items in the cart. She noticed that my puppy was young and playful and has a bit of a listening problem so she gave me great information on their training classes. When we were finished I thanked her and thought I'd be on my way, but she took the cart out to my car then LOADED my car for me! She insisted because my puppy can be a handful and I never tried walking him while pushing a cart before, especially across a parking lot. She seemed genuinely concerned that we got everything and everyone safe and in the car. It was one of the best costumer service experiences I've ever encountered. We just started the training classes this week (with Buck) and the classes seem very informative so far. Buck has a lot of experience with training and is very helpful. The classes seem like they work if you apply the methods used and the information that is given to you. I'm very confident that these classes will help and can't wait to start seeing some differences in my puppy thanks to petco. read more

This review is for the grooming department. Our dog needed a good grooming, and due to the cold weather, he had some dry skin and paws. The friendly staff helped us pick the right package so our pup could be really pampered. So we dropped him off and went on our way. The staff member said she'd call in about an hour to an hour and a half when the dog was ready. Her call came right at an hour and 20 minutes. When we went to pick him up, the groomer had nothing but nice things to say about our dog and how pleasant he was. We were unsure how he'd handle the situation, being that we adopted him as a stray from a shelter, and he takes some time to trust people. Well, he came out happy as could be! They even gave us a sample of the paw cream they used on his cracked, sensitive paws. Another thing I liked about this place was there were only 2 dogs there, our dog and 1 other. I think one thing that makes dogs hate grooming is all of the other uncomfortable strange dogs in the same room in the same stressful situation.
