If I could give this store zero stars, I would. *This is a warning to those looking to adopt a cat or dog from this store.* PetSmart was in a partnership with Halfway Home Rescue for 17 years up until recently. Halfway Home is a well noted rescue with high standards who values the care and placement of cats and dogs. PetSmart had an area where you could see adoptable cats from Halfway Home in the store. PetSmart decided that numbers of animals moved in and out of the store were more important than the well being of the actual animals. Halfway home always takes the time to make sure to check references, vet history, home environment, and makes sure each animal has the medical care they need. Halfway Home was asked to leave because PetSmart wanted cats moved every 22 days out of the store. For anyone who has ever adopted an animal, you know this is a slower process to ensure happiness for both owner and more importantly the pet. In short, PetSmart is more concerned with the all might dollar and ultimately corporate greed. I along with many others will be boycotting this store in all locations. read more

I purchased an online order for science Hill diet food for $97.99. I did same day delivery and received propane dog food which is a value $40 the receipt taped to the box states my name and it also states science Hill I called the store the lady was very friendly. She said that she was a team leader And asked if I can just come to the store and she can switch out the product. However I was not home and the distance between where I was to where the stores location was the store would've been closed leaving my dog without food. I then called customer service to see if the food can be shipped out first thing in the morning the worker originally told me yes, and he would contact the store to see if they had the item still what he didn't know was that I was actually on three-way and Heard Him and the workers entire conversation. He then came back on the line and told me something completely different. I asked for a Supervisor in which a supervisor named Liam came on the phone His condescending tone was very rude and because of this, I will never shop at PetSmart again. He got on the line and basically told me what he was going to do. They wanted to issue me a refund however I explained to them that I would have to wait five days for that refund to be processed back to my account and I would be out of $100 for a couple of days due to negligence on the store behalf if they can just re-ship the food out and I will bring back this food. He was extremely rude. I am referring to Liam. I asked him his title he said team leader I said I wanted to speak to a supervisor. He chuckled and said I'm basically a supervisor long story short he ended up hanging up the phone. I then called Back and spoke to another worker and which I asked him to speak to a supervisor as well. I also explained that I did not want to speak to a supervisor named Liam. He told me that he was transferring me to his supervisor Joseph I said OK great then the phone was transferred and Liam got on the phone and started to laugh and said this is Liam David. I have always loved PetSmart, and it has always been my go-to, but not anymore. We purchased a snake last month from this location that we've since discovered is infested with mites. Mites are notoriously dangerous and difficult to irradiate, so we are in for a long struggle, meanwhile out ball python is suffering. The obviously don't quarantine their animals prior to selling, and if ours was infested, this means that all their other reptiles are most likely infested as well. We are absolutely disgusted and will not be back. read more

The place sells cats that are stuck in tiny cages, with only one side open to air, not even enough room for them to stretch out. I have been bringing my dog here for years and only had a problem once when we noticed our dog had a rash in two odd areas near her stomach a few days after getting her groomed, but it was because the soap hadn't been thoroughly washed off of her feet and when she laid down, she got the rash. We notified the PetSmart groomers once and have never had that problem since. I usually ask for Jaime B, she is the best and our dog, Cabo, loves her!!! But there are other groomers there who are great, as well. I always have pleasant experiences when checking out with different cashiers, too. read more

CAT LOVERS BEWARE: This review isn't so much about PetSmart as it is about the Animal Shelter (Halfway Home Rescue Inc) which they choose to support at this PetSmart. I went to adopt a cat today (I have owned cats my whole life, and have spent thousands on Veterinarians, etc. etc.) I went in on Saturday, a day early,to fill out the application, no problem. When I came back on Sunday, the only day the shelter people are there, I was immediately treated like I wanted a cat in order to eat it or something. I didn't get the persons name(some skinny white woman with an attitude), because she didn't offer it, and she didn't wear a name badge. Apparently I was the only person who had filled out an application for a cat this day, yet instead of trying to do her best to get a cat out of that little cage and into my home, she continued to find reasons why each cat wouldn't work for me.("Kittens have to go in pairs" "That cat has to live with other pets" etc etc) Like I said, I have owned cats my entire life and know what a cat can, or can't handle. I ended up getting sick of her self righteous tone, and snide attitude, so I left. I don't intend to return. This absolutely breaks my heart that some of these cats will eventually be euthanized (or other cats who have to stay in shelter and not seen) all due to these ignorant humans. (BTW "Kittens have to go in pairs", this would cost around $400-$600 to get 2 kittens from these morons. Basically they want them to grow old in that little box until they are worth less and can be sold individually. You can get a pure bred for that price.) It sickens me to think PetSmart allows this type of behavior on their property. I'm sorry I couldn't save you cat. May that (insert bad word) get whats coming to her because of your continued suffering. I will save another cat, this I promise to you. read more

I called this PetSmart on Tuesday morning and made an appointment for my dog to get cut & washed.. I wanted an appointment ASAP since he had gotten sprayed by a skunk the previous night. The earliest appointment, I was told by the grooming MANAGER, was that Thursday at 2:00. We showed up on Thursday at 2:00 and there was no record of our appointment. The same woman who I spoke with shrugged it off and offered an appointment for Saturday morning. NOPE. What horrible customer service, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

We've liked every visit we've had to Petsmart. HOWEVER.... We took our dog to get groomed, and Kim was very rude. I don't know if she's new to the job, but she didn't handle herself in a professional manner, and seemed unhappy with her job. From the outside it looks closed and not inviting. Dark windows. Probably to protect the hamsters with poor vision. Right next to Best Buy and behind McDonald's (no jokes about their meat). Lotsa free parking. Inside its easy to find what you're looking for, but what's interesting is that they don't have dogs. Except on Sundays, and they are rescue animals. Probably good if that's your thing. Its not our thing. We looked at turtles, and spoke with a young guy with a beard. He and other employees were very available if you needed help. Good thing. But not oppressively overbearing. The guy was very helpful, had lots of answers, and did not try to sell us anything. In the end we decided to not buy the water based turtle...too much work, but if we had, it probably would come from there. Seems a lot of their pricing is reasonable, and they seem to a decent selection. read more

This is our second time having problems with grooming Seems they can only do small dogs. Our first problem was with a Rhodesian Lab Mix 12 yr old dying on cancer. when we went to pick him up after grooming we saw him being pulled and yelled at. He could barley move. After he died he brought an 10 week per Rhodesian. These dogs are strong but not unnecessarily aggressive. The groomer assured use that she had four Pit Bulls and could handle it. Seems not, They would not let me muzzle him or get vet sedation. Go to Zoe Girl up the street the are better trained with dogs. Our Rhodesian does not need sedation or muzzling there. They know what they are doing! And they are humane to all animals! read more

Normally I wouldn't go further then saying something at said specific store but PetSmart store #2286 in orange has two awesome employees, Doreatha and Connor, that deserve recognition! I went in to exchange a bag of dog food for the right one, naturally I grabbed another unnecessary toy for my dog, some pill pockets & a new leash.. get to the food section and they didn't have what I needed. Doreatha offered to check the back without me even asking, had a bag and to top it off it was scanning at half the price I normally pay which is a little over $80! I was in shock and probably embarsssing myself with my excitement but oh well. She then offered to get me how ever many more if I wanted them AND extended me a discount if I bought in bulk. I walked out of there with 2 35lb bags of dog food, a nice big toy for the brat, a retractable leash & pill pockets for only $32 extra with my original credit, all occompanied by excellent customer service and genuinely nice people! The worst customer service I have ever received !!! I have literally spent hundreds of dollars in this store and got nothing but attitude from their store manager Gregg. When I asked for customer service is number he told me go ahead and call they're just going to call me and I'm going to say the same thing !!! BEWARE!!!!!!!! My Family has been taking my dog to petsmart grooming once a month for a year, these past few months we have noticed that our tiny dog has been scratching a lot so we inform the groomer and he told us it was just dry skin and all he needed was an oatmeal bath, so we took them at their word, after all they are the "professionals" or so they claim. After last months visit we decided it was time to try a new groomer cause pet smart wasnt helping. When we took him to the new groomer that told us he had fleas and they had to have been there a couple months. Because of the fleas and the constant scratching scabs were starting to build up under his coat, causing him pain. Due to a few compications and some allergic reactions we had to take our dog to an emergency vet appointment where he informed us that the red dots on his belly and under his coat were becuase he is allergic to fleas. on a couple of his visits we even dropped off a flea treatment that they applied after the grooming service, upon arriving at our new groomer they told us that applying it directly after being groomed put our dog in serious danger. The grooming staff should have known better then to put it on directly after, again we knew no better they were the professionals. If you care for your pet do not take him to this petsmart. They are lucky no permanent damage was sustained to our dog. they are clearly neglectful and Incompatant!! BEWARE read more
