I did speak to her husband and was told they were busy and that he would get back to me , but never did. I continued to call, leave messages and text them, but no response. I was a regular customer from when they opened (and a good tipper). The good news is that I got much better service at WHO's YOUR DOGGY in Milford. Ashley, asked lots of questions and was highly professional and courteous on the phone. She also told me that she would have an assistant to work with her because of my dog's blindness. When, Bootsy exited the groom room, he was not panting nor stressed in the least. Which was a nice surprise for me because at One Pampered Pup he was always so stressed and couldn't wait to leave. Melissa was top notch. Gizmo is tough tiny rescue. Melissa owner went outa her way to pick up gizmo and drive her home. She was treated like a queen. I'm so happy because her right paw was badly matted and her left paw and belly had a few mattings. I could not get to. Gizmo is my heart and soul and not having a car presented issues. I am forever grateful and will be a forever customer at whose your doggie. This review is strictly for grooming as we have no used their boarding/ daycare services. I was referred here for grooming from a Facebook group. Come to find out those who recommended only have their dogs bathed and not groomed with a haircut. The haircut my dog received looked like an amateur did it not a professional charging $90 (overpriced to begin with). There were clipper nicks/ bald spots on my dog in several places. They also said they cleaned her ears but when she came home she was shaking her head (she was not doing this before she went) like her ear was bothering her. Ended up having to take her to the vet for an ear infection because she got water in her ear during the bath. My dog is 7 years old and has gone to the groomer multiple times a year since she was a puppy and never had an experience like this. The old groomer we used in the town we used to live in charged $55. My dog is 23lbs. If you are looking for a groomer for a haircut keep looking! read more

Your staff NEVER stated this was an issue. After the Initial report of him jumping and humping a "smaller" staff member according to your worker upon me coming to pick him up, there was NEVER any other communication by your staff that he was continuing this behavior. My husband began coming with me to pick Aquila up and we ALWAYS asked your staff how he did and they ALWAYS said he did "good". It's so disheartening when a business owner who is barely ever at her establishment because according to your staff member who stated "she does have kids you know", will not take ownership when there is a gross lack of communication amongst her workers that she claims comes first. Yes I agree that their safety is definitely first, but you house all types and temperaments of dogs that you have failed to properly train them to handle. We know our puppy and we can bring him ANYWHERE and people approach him with NO issues of aggression. You've never been on site when he was there but you trust your staff's report even when they are clearly wrong. In regards to my friend's poor dog's ear, the issue was not that it happened, as things do, it was the fact that your staff denied knowledge and tried using tons of surgical glue and you did not contact the Vet for examination as also stated in your waiver. We also found out that a dog passed away at your establishment and the coldness of your untrained staff who called the owner and did not even know the dog's name is another representation of your judgement in choosing staff. Just stop Melissa. We've accepted that your business is not up to par and moved on and you should also. Perhaps shutting down before a tragic accident happens due to irresponsible workers is best for you. Every time we went there the dogs were all together with no staff and my husband even had to tell your worker that a dog was humping another dog and they ignored it. Aquila probably learned that behavior going to your daycare. Quick lesson though, when puppies are excited...THEY JUMP! And btw, our puppy is doing great in his training and responds to those who do not pose a threat to his well being. Maybe you should also consider enrolling in some character training , conflict resolution and business management classes and you won't have so many legal issues hanging over your head. Brought my newly adopted hound here for his first day of doggie daycare last week. He's very social and energetic, especially around his fellow pooches. He seemed to have a full day of fun, staff reporting that he played/barked/ran around all day. They have a webcam in each of the two daycare rooms, which were recently adjusted, so you can see the majority of each of the two rooms where the dogs spend their day. He did his first "overnight weekend" here this past weekend and the same scenario occurred...totally exhausted after arriving home. I was worried about him not sleeping or eating, but staff seem to have a good handle on each of the dogs and how they were (behaviors, sleeping, eating habits). I purchased a daycare package of 15 days, so I plan to bring him once a week or as needed. They don't need to know ahead of time if you're bringing your dog in, so it's helpful for me if I decide last minute to bring my dog in that day. Once in a while, they offer a couple of free days if you purchase a daycare package, so check their FB page for announcements. Another bonus is that they have pickups until 8pm during the week, so I am able to work late or have plans after work and pick him up on my way home. They have a groomer on site and even have staff who sleep at the facility overnight (in a regular human sized bed with your dog, if you want) which is really what sold me on this place. read more

I have been coming to this facility for over three years, for both daycare and boarding. This place is world class. I have two rescue dogs and I travel hours anytime I need to board to keep them at this facility. They offer TLC packages (which I highly recommend, if your dog has separation anxiety like mine do, so worth the extra money) The staff is trained by their amazing dog trainer over Melissa. And the staff takes each and every special request for your dog very seriously. I have one rescue who takes time to warm up to new men and one who also takes time to warm up to new dogs. My dogs THRIVE here because the staff cares. Special shout out to Melissa, Maddie, Dallas, Will and Sarah. So many not mentioned but these five are amazing. We love this place read more

I brought him home and after realizing how traumatized he was in the car I found out why when I got him into the house. Im so glad I found this place. When I picked my dog up from Whose Your Doggie after being gone for the weekend he was calm, happy, and exhausted. Instead of being stressed about leaving him next time I have to go I'm excited for him. We couldn't be happier with the service. And the cost - not having an add on menu like so many places means the pets get attention more often and I don't have to worry that if I didn't pay and extra $20/day for turn down service and a belly rub that he's being neglected. Update: Melissa, thank you for the return call after several weeks which was only promoted by the public posting of an accurate review. I know you advertise your love for animals and, honestly, that was initially what drew us to your business. Unfortunately, our experience did not prove that love to be true. For all that might be questioning the integrity of my review: on Who's Your Doggie Facebook, I posted the video "aggression," note that no action was taken on the owner's part other than throwing our dog in a kennel for hours and letting her sit in her own feces and urine. The pup is only a year old. The new daycare has staff that supervise, separate and assist in teaching dogs that other pups need a break. They also don't abandon a dog in a kennel and let them soil themselves for the day. It is also unfortunate that you spoke negatively about your "wonderful" staff on the phone indicating that "he shouldn't have told you when I would call you back, he doesn't know my schedule." However, your staff are great and never expressed any issues with my dog other than her being just "a puppy and not knowing when enough was enough." I can certainly post the picture of the feces on my dog and the urine that saturated her undercarriage with date stamps if anyone would like to see those as well. Best of luck to you. Initial review: We did not initially realize how poor our experience was with Who's Your Doggie. INHUMANE TREATMENT. The dogs are not supervised throughout the day. However, the owner went out of her way to send videos of our puppy playing with other dogs and not realizing the dogs were taking a break from playing. The owner just watched and did not intervene, instead placing her in the crate for the duration of the day. When we asked the owner to call us back to inquire about training, our call was not returned. On multiple occasions our puppy has been left in the crate with evening staff unsure of how long she had been locked up. Our poor pup was covered in feces and urine on each of those occasions. We asked again for the owner to contact us and, again, no response. So disappointed in the maltreatment of our pup and the lack of care and communication from the owner. I have requested twice that you contact me to at least explain how my dog got a chuck bitten from his ear and I have heard nothing from you, why not? You say that you will pay for the vet bill but you will not return my requests to contact me, you have my contact info. Your response to my review was a total lie, there was no flipping out or cursing, just genuine concern that my dog had a serious injury and nobody that worked there seemed to know what happened, and I would warn anybody using your facility to beware of the experience my dog had in there. As you know, I have begun an investigation by the CT animal control and licensing authority who are trying to find out what happened to my dog!! We Love Who's Your Doggie, When we go on vacation the dogs go to their favorite place, Who's Your Doggie. They run around and socialize, dip in baby pools and get loved by the staff. Love this place. Needed an alternate to my regular boarding and read great reviews. They did not disappoint. Doggie day care, boarding and my dog loves it. Right near the Petco plaza in Milford and easy drop off and pick up. Its secured, you have to be buzzed in and large dogs and small dogs are kept separate (I have a small one). they even required shots to have her there that my vet didnt so they make sure the dogs are safe and not getting each other sick. I've boarded there 3 times. And I got what I paid for. I've worked with animals for years and completely understand a few mishaps but the last visit was irresponsible on the part of the staff. First experience, my coonhound came home with the start of a massive skin infection along her back. The second time, I asked them to be mindful of her sensitive and she had the same reaction. When I called, they assured me they did use sensitive shampoo. So I figured she must have been allergic to something in the facility. After she passed. We tried them again- even after the rumor that they lost a dog from their facility (which was confirmed by the owner "he was small"). I measured out the exact food for the stay and instructed WYD to add water. My dogs came home with over 2/3 the food I sent them with. The kid at the front desk said "sometimes they don't eat." I understand that, but there's no way a 5 month old puppy didn't eat and he would have eaten his sisters food. The woman owner called and said "they were definitely fed." Well then tell me WHAT FOOD they ate?!? Because it certainly wasn't the food I sent them with. She somewhat apologized but offered nothing to keep me as a client. Poor business attitude. A side note- they claimed I picked up the dogs early, even though it was exactly the date I told them on the phone AND at check in. They both reeked of urine, I didn't even want to put them in my car. But the whole place smells soaked in pee so I guess it's my fault for not requesting a bath (for fear of more skin infections.) read more

This was our first experience with day care and boarding. We were going away for the weekend and were very nervous about leaving the dog. Who's your doggie was great, they did a trial day care session to make sure our dog Candy was comfortable there. When it came time for her weekend, we dropped her off on Friday and she spent the day in day care before settling in for her overnight. We did the TLC package so someone would be staying with her. Come Saturday morning, all I could think about was how she was doing and if she was ok. Knowing they were not open yet, I sent a Facebook message to check in just so I felt like I did something, figuring someone would get back to me at some point and if not I would call once they were open for the day to check in. Much to my surprise, I received a message back within a few minutes!! The best part was, it was not just a generic oh she is doing fine, it was a hold on and let me get in touch with the staff member that is staying with her to see how she is doing... and that is exactly what they did. I got a message back a little while later updating me on how her night went and that everything was going good. They even sent me a picture of her snuggled up with her new friend! I was very apprehensive about boarding Candy, but I have to say that Who's your doggie did a great job with her. Thank you so much for everything!! read more

I use this place numerous times a year. The staff is great and everyone seems to know my dog by name. My dog usually is timid to go there but then doesn't seem to want to leave afterwards. PLEASE READ BEFORE LEAVING YOUR ANIMALS HERE: DO NOT leave your animals in the care of this facility. We dropped my 4 year old pitbull Sophie and my 7 year old golden retriever Duffy to stay here for about a week. There were SO MANY ISSUES. Firstly, we tried to contact the facility go over the care of my dogs prior to their stay. We called four times and spoke to Sophia, who did not have the answers to any of our questions. We requested Jonah, the manager to call us back. She never did. We had to inform Sophia to write down our message as she was not providing or stating that she was retaining any of the instructions we were leaving her. Secondly, we paid extra money for them to pick my dogs up from our house and they left my house UNLOCKED. We came home to our door opened. Thirdly, they did NOT FEED my dogs the food that we provided them. Fourthly, my pitbull came home acting like she was locked up the entire time, full of energy and with her nails longer than before we dropped her off (there are concrete floors, she was there for almost a week, if they had let her out it they would be grinded down). Fifthly, My golden retriever came home with kennel cough, which I understand is a risk you take leaving your dogs in a facility with multiple animals. However we were NOT CONTACTED about his condition. Finally, when we spoke to the owner Melissa all she stated was "I can only offer an apology", indicating that HER location is inadequate in providing a safe environment for animals. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY, the level of rudeness, incompetent management and ownership and mishandling of my pets was disgusting. We paid over $500 for our animals to not be taken care of, returned to us sick and our house left open for the duration of our vacation. read more

I was in a jam and called them in hopes of boarding my pups last minute. Melissa the owner remembered me and welcomed me and my dogs after speaking a bit. Here's a few great things to know: 1. Knowledgable, helpful, caring staff. 2. Dogs are evaluated and put together appropriately for their size, age, energy level. 3. Someone is there ALL the time. They have someone staying overnight. BEWARE! Avoid unless you're desperate! I boarded my 5 dogs there for 5 nights and they all came home sick with kennel cough. When I tried to talk to Melissa (owner) about it she was rude, arrogant and condescending. She told me it was "stupid" for trying to have a conversation about it and that she's not concerned about losing business from any bad review. I also paid for 4 of the dogs to be bathed (5th dog was groomed - groomer was excellent). When making the reservation, I asked when they would be ready to be picked up and was told after 4 PM. I asked if that meant there would be extra charges due to late pick up I was told no. I also said that if late charges would be incurred that I would skip the baths. Sure enough, when I picked them up at 4 PM they tried to charge me for late pick up. Plus the 4 that were bathed were soaking wet when picked up! If the above isn't bad enough, when I tried to pay using a debit card (also applies to credit card) I was informed that there is a 3.9% upcharge on a bill that was alot more than $1000. Had this been communicated to me prior to pick up I would have gone to the bank and gotten cash. I should have known better than to bring them back this time because when they boarded in May (no 3.9% upcharge then) I was hit with hidden fees. There are too many good to excellent boarding businesses in Stratford, Milford and Shelton to use this place. They may seem more expensive to begin with but they're really not because they don't have any hidden charges and my fur children come home happy and healthy when boarded at other places. read more

We paid them to feed our cat, give her water, and scoop the litter while we were out of town. My husband met with the women and gave her our key, explained everything, and paid them. We called mid-week to make sure they had gotten in ok and our cat was fine. They stated things were fine. When we got home, we discovered they had not been there. When my husband called, they informed him that they wrote the dates down wrong and our cat went a week with only the food and water we had given her the day we left. When we called they apparently just said "yes" that things were fine without actually checking that anyone had seen our cat. Thankfully our cat didn't die. We will not be using them again. I had a terrible experience boarding my 2 year old lab here. I was in need of a last minute boarding and chose here based on the reviews...I dropped my dog off roughly 4 pm on Thursday and he was picked up by 11:30 am on Sunday. He did seem out of sorts but I just assumed he was tired from the stay. I was also surprised when they gave me his food container back...i packed enough food for 6 days (just incase) and there were only about 30 kibbles left in the container...I know he did not eat all of that himself! The rest of the day Sunday he was very lethargic and did not eat or drink anything. By Monday he was still extremely lethargic and still would not eat or drink anything. He had also vomited green bile throughout the night. I took him to the vet and he had lost 8 lbs and was given some anti nausea medication and was told if there was no improvement by Tuesday to bring him back in. I reached out via telephone to Who's your doggie but was told manager and owner weren't in so I sent an email addressing my concerns. . A few hours later I got a call from Melissa the owner, she turned it around on me asking if I walked my dog...in which I stated yes...and she said they walked him 3 times a day (he was there less then 72 hours) and that my dog was overweight and the weight loss was a good thing for him. I was mortified she would make that comment to a paying customer! She proceeded to tell me her own dog was sick. Nothing about the food issue or if anything had happened. On Tuesday he could barely move and still no food or water...back to the vet for blood work and A liter and a half of fluids. Oh and he lost another 1.3 lbs. Melissa did reach out via text that day to see how he was and when I told her everything that had happened at vet, her response was "wow that's crazy!" At that point there was nothing more for me to say so I didn't even respond and have no heard back from her! Wednesday still no food or water...back to the vet for more tests...it took until Thursday for him to finally drink some water! And by Friday he was up to about half a cup of dog food...finally progress! Until this morning when he started coughing and choking and sounding like he was gonna cough up a lung. My first thought was...here we go again another vet visit...it would make the 4th visit in less then a week! After telling my friend, she noticed a FB post on Who's Your Doggies website that they have had recent cases of kennel cough...wow it sure would have been nice to get a call or email Informing all the pets that had been there in the last week...especially when they are aware of the condition of my dog in the previous days...not everyone follows them on FB! It's a hard and expensive lesson I learned for entrusting the care of my dog there...we will not be returning and I'm sorry that my fur baby had to go thru all of that! read more

This place is your average daycare for dogs. They do a great job and my dog is always tired when I go to pick him up at night. The only things I'd look out for are: they leave some dogs out front and numerous times the girls working will just let my dog out of the back without restraining or supervising the dogs in front. My dog has been close to getting bitten a few times because of this. Most of the workers are amazing and very conscious of the importance of keeping some dogs separate from others, but they do have a couple employees (younger ones) who don't adhere to this. One kept her headphones in her ears the entire time I was explaining I didn't want my dog let in with the bigger dogs (aggressive dogs at that) still up front on the loose. Needless to say, she completely ignored me and let in my dog without restraining the bigger dogs. Also, sometimes it takes about ten to fifteen minutes for someone to open up the doors in the morning. They open at 7, which is early compared to most dog day cares, but then you need to wait outside until the employee actually comes to the door.
