Good luck with their grooming department. I used to take my dog here but stopped due to the poor quality of a haircut and my dog always having 'accidentally' cuts. I needed a quick appointment because my other groomer was swamped and was happy to see they had an appointment available. The app said I just needed to bring rabies vaccination verification with me which I had electronically on my phone (this is 2024). Nope, you have to have paper copies including vaccines only PetSmart requires. Now I know why there were appointments available. The story I got from the manager about why they won't take electronic verifications was about someone with a stolen dog (and that explain how you're not advanced how?). Poor quality plus poor service isn't worth the hassle! 100% don't recommend!! read more

Sam the girl who was assigned to do my dogs walk in treatment was rude, was complaining about customers in front of us, my dog was struggling with the teeth brushing and so I asked her if she was able to get his teeth well she got snotty and said yes I brushed his teeth. Will never be back again. The older woman in there that has worked there for years is great though she deserves a raise. read more

I enjoy the ease of being able to shop online for pick up but also seem to be able to get in and out quickly when I go in to shop. Staff are friendly and helpful, including offering to help carry the bag of dog food to the car for me. Grooming services are good as well. Feel the need to update on my previous review. The vet clinic in Petco change ownership, with the membership I pay for I receive grooming discounts. Thought after a year the poor groomer would be gone. I called to make an appointment only to find out the old groomer put my dog on the naughty dog list because I complained about her. So Petco refuses to groom my dog. On august 10, 2022 I spoke with district manager Amanda Swank about this situation and the situation a year ago. She was responsive to my concerns, said she would do some investigating and get back to me. I sent her the complaint I sent to Petco a year ago, to which I never received a response , and she confirmed my dog was blacklisted from being groomed at Petco. As of 9/25/22 I have never heard from Amber Swank. I've changed vets, as Petco will never see another dime from me. A real shame, because Dr. Lindquist took great care of my dog. I have used Petco for my dog's grooming for years and am never disappointed. The grooming staff is very friendly and treat me and my dog well. The store is well stocked and staff is attentive and friendly. There is sometimes a longer wait for a cashier than I'd like, but I've worked for Petco (at this location, no less!) I understand the rhythm of customers changes often and cashiers have non-cashier duties when there's nobody waiting. I don't ever see anyone being lazy or ignoring customers. I had only ever owned one pet in my life! As a child I had a fish named Kent Hrbek for about a week! He died and I buried him in a check book box in my back yard, a few weeks later I missed him and dug him up and it was pretty disturbing seeing his scales become one with the box! I know pretty dramatic story to start this review.. Anyway recently my wife brought home a fish for us to take care of.. WOW my first pet in 25 years... It's weird, I instantly fell in love with our little fish Rusty and after 2 weeks had already trained him to come over when you called his name! I'm loving being a fish owner and now that we are fish owners my wife has gone into a frenzy reading about how to take the best care of our 3 dollar fish! So that's what brought us to Petco yesterday to purchase some crazy (probably unnecessary things) for our fish. They have everything you need here from special water, to food, to goofy things like a yellow submarine for your fish bowl! I enjoyed walking around the store looking at the rats, cats, and birds for sale. They have tons of fish, (none as cool as ours... proud papa) and they had some amazing looking turtles! I saw some dogs getting a hair cut and some of the most ridiculous play toys known to man for sale. The staff was helpful and nice, and the store was clean, it did have a strange smell to it, but I think that comes with the territory! Anyway.. How nice is it to bring your best friend to the store. These guys let you!! I found a little coat I wanted to try on my dog before I purchased. I brought my little girl with and tried it on before I purchased. Now she'll stay toasty on these cold fall night by the fire!! The staff here are awesome. You can tell they're animal lovers just like me. My little dog can be grumpy around new people, but she really likes coming in here for some weird reason. Maybe it smells ok?? Everyone is very helpful and they even suggested a product that helped eliminate my dog's bad breath. Plus they have a bonus program for every purchase. read more

We have 5 pets: 2 dogs, and 3 cats. They're all rescues. We shop at Petco for dog food, dog and cat treats, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and cat toys. We don't utilize their grooming, boarding, or training services. This is our usual store, mainly due to location. It isn't a brand new and fashionable location, but it's a great one. There are never any unattended pet messes, or anything gross on the floor that could be gobbled up by a leashed patron. Recently, we brought the dogs in to get them each a bone, and to find some sort of allergy supplement for our tiny dog, whom had already been to the vet for actual treatment. Within 5 minutes of walking them around the perimeter, an employee came up to ask if she could greet them, give them a treat, and ask to help us find what we needed. She led us to the supplement area and helped us read labels, compare prices, and let us know that we could return an opened bag of supplements/treats within 30 days, if they didn't work or our dogs didn't like them. The supplements ended up working out really well, and it was a really great experience all around. Lastly, the small pet and fish area seems to always be clean and sightly, and there is almost always someone tending to the fish. I personally do not agree with purchasing any kind of pet from a pet store, but I do have a bit of experience in raising lizards, snakes, and hamsters. Despite the underlying moral concerns I have with the corporation's choice to sell pets, I can say the small amount of extra work they take here to clean each terrarium and cage goes a long way. read more

You'll also find treats for pets, pet equipment such as fish tanks, pet beds, and cleaning accessories, so this should be a one stop shop. I needed some wet dog food for an upcoming trip that my dog is tagging along with, since he sometimes won't eat his normal dry dog food at someone else's house. Best pet groomers!!! My Chihuahua loves his groomer. She goes out of her way to make sure my puppy is taken care of. And when she doesn't see us for a while she checks in with me on social media to make sure we're all good and that our needs are being met. Today we went for a visit and she noticed that he had a little bit of drainage from one of his ears. My dog is 3 years old and he's been groomed since he was a baby. I've never had a bad grooming experience, EVER - until today. After grooming at this Petco location he couldn't open his right eye. Took him for a vet visit and learned he has a chemical burn on his eye from the shampoo. He will need antibiotic eye drops for two weeks and have to wear a cone collar. Obviously an eye burn is very painful so he will also be on pain meds and need to stay out of sunlight. I am devastated he has to go through this all because of shampoo. Why the hell would any salon use shampoo that causes chemical burns?! Then they had the nerve to blame my dog and say what caused the irritation was him rubbing his eye. Um, no. Your toxic products burned his eye! Of course he rubbed it. And it doesn't stop there. The groomer said he wasn't cooperative. No other groomer has ever told me he was uncooperative in THREE YEARS. Ya think maybe that's because his eye was burning? They paid for the vet visit and I was refunded for the groom. However, I don't care about the money. I hate that he has to endure a painful eye burn for two weeks over some damn shampoo and careless practices. I give him baths at home and never let shampoo run into his eyes. I have to say, I was a little concerned for the appearance of this location but the service never disappoints. Luckily, it looks like they're getting quite the remodel and it looks amazing so far! We adopted two kittens a few months back, before renovations, and they were not only respectful but concerned for the future welfare of their fuzzy adoptees but grateful they were getting a new home which is awesome because you hear about so many people who adopt that aren't quite prepared--Kudos Petco. ZERO STARS!! Never shop or groom at Petco ever again....NEVER. The groomers are not trained properly and incite fear in my dog, which they are equally not trained to handle. We went here for eight years with no problems until staff and policies changed in late 2015. Now they won't even see Tokey because he shows signs he doesn't like it and isn't having fun...Seriously, most dogs don't enjoy having their nails cut or grinded. They tolerate it, just like we learn to tolerate getting shots and other unpleasantries in life. They suggested that I take him to a vet to be sedated. Seriously? Every three weeks? I won't subject him to those risks either. I'll do it myself at home with the dremmel and he can deal with a few minutes of frustration, followed by a treat. I take my dog here to get groomed all the times and i have never had a problem. She leaves the store looking great, shedding WAY less, happy and smells great. She doesn't get whitening shampoo but they always manage to get her as white as possible with the shampoo that they need to use on her. They really care about the animals and go the extra mile to help them have a pleasant experience. My dog started out being afraid of the dryer to now letting them dry her off no problem. The store is great as well. Helpful people and a clean place. I buy our birds from here because they seem to be better treated here than petsmart. read more

I take my labradoodle, Sadie, in to get bathed every month and she gets a cut every other month. Her groomer is Becca. Sadie loves going to see Becca and will go straight to her leash when I say Becca's name. She even jumps up and down several times. Sadie has been going to Becca ever since her first bath and groom - about 2 1/2 years, now. Becca does a great job. She addresses Sadie by name, seems to really care for her, and always is ready to listen to me and answer any questions I might have. I love the way Sadie looks and smells after a trip to see Becca. Best thing I ever did was start letting Becca handle Sadie's grooming. Becca is a STAR! read more

I will never bring my dog here to be groomed again. I had a bad feeling when I left him because the groomer yanked the collar so hard my dog coughed. When I came back to get him after they called to say he was done, they informed me that he had a bit of a red spot on the top of his nose from jumping in the kennel and hitting his nose on the top. He is a very large, 105 lb lab. When he came out his nose was raw and bleeding and all swollen. So obviously he was hitting his nose for quite some time and was in distress. They played it off like it was no big deal. NEVER going here again. read more

When we got there the manager had a completely different story and said once they leave the store there's nothing they can do. Very upset with your customer service and the store. My dog had an ear infection and needed the zymox for inflammation like I ORDERED online and I picked it up last night. Went to put in my dogs ears and it's the wrong bottle. When I call they basically told me it's my problem and I can return it once the pandemic is over. That's b/s . Is their mess up not mine. I ordered the proper stuff. They handpicked my item and brought it to my car. The least they could do is let me exchange it for the drops I actually ordered. Now I'm gonna have to spend more money and wait again for the right ear drop and that is not right on your part. You needed to fix your mistakes. Will not be back to this place. Please don't take your dog to get groomed here if she needs special care. My dog is very nervous and skittish from being abused as a puppy and petco made it a hundred times worse. They shaved her skin raw in some areas to where it bled and spent 8 hours traumatizing her because they simply are not equipped to handle nervous dogs. It's been 3 weeks and she still runs out of the room when I get the brush. Jordan who cut her was confronted by another customer for how poorly she was being handled. I will never go back. The WORST experience I've ever had. I had to wait months to write this b/c I was soo mad how my dog was treated...So I checked her in & they said I could not wait, nor did they want me to watch from a window behind them, where the dogs could not see me? My tiny Yorkie was 7 mos. old & has the sweetest disposition, everyone is her friend as she is full of kisses & love twds anyone she meets. The girl who was grooming her said she would text me when she was finished which would be an hour. 4 1/2 hrs later I popped in unannounced, I waved to the groomer as I came in & cued to her that I would stay low behind the counter so that my dog could not see me (didn't want to get her excited). Immediately I noticed that my dog was choking & gasping for breath, it was much more alarming than I can even describe! I ran behind the counter & tried to put a finger under the double wide choke collar, there was no room & my dog was getting limp from lack of air. I tried to loosen the choke collar & couldn't, I raised my voice to ask for help to loosen the collar. I asked for management & the groomer said my dog "wasn't behaving & that it was not tight". BS. All I can say is this was DOG ABUSE & left w/ my dog still choking for hours as her trachea was damaged. They knew how bad it was, said I could go w/out being charged (ha, my last concern) her grooming wasn't close to finished. I'm just grateful her trachea didn't collapse completely. My vet said I needed to write a review. The groomers anger came out on the dogs as I saw her "man-handle" another young dog. I hate writing this as I don't want to hurt anyone's business, yet I cannot let this happen to anyone else's pet! I can't say enough good things about Tammy and the job she did on my dogs. They are spoiled, nervous, and one gets traumatized when groomed. Tammy took the time to talk to me on the phone and we worked out a way to avoid ever having them put in kennels. She got to know them and showered them with affection. I placed on order online March 30 for a senior dog food that I cannot buy in my local store. I checked the tracking 1 week later to find that UPS did not have the package to ship. I called customer service and was on hold for 1 hour before hanging up. I called the next day and was also on hold for another hour. The third day, April 9th I was on hold for an 1.5 hours before talking with Christine in customer service. I told her the situation and I was told the package was lost in transit, then I explained UPS did not have the package. She offered to refund my money or process the transaction. I asked for overnight shipping at no charge due to the 10 day delay and calling 3 days in a row and being on hold for over 3 hours. Christine agreed and then told me the product was out of stock. I asked for a supervisor that could make this right. Christine came back with a voucher offer of $10 off. I said no and asked for a supervisor. Christine came back with a $15 off voucher. I said no and asked for a supervisor. Supervisor Corin came on and told me that is all they can offer. I explained my frustrations of the shipping, having to be on hold for days and finally talking to customer service for now over 4 hours of my time to now find out my dog's food is not available, which Petco failed to notify me of. Corin said she would refund my purchase and offered to send me a $15 voucher. I said that is the current online discount that I would get if I bought the food today, which I believe is an unacceptable offer in this situation to make things right. I declined. Petco, I have been a loyal customer for years and looked forward to shopping in your stores and online. I am deeply disappointed that you did not let me know my product was out of stock, charged my card, sent me an email saying my product was on the way, and made me wait 10 days, 4.5 hours of my time on the phone just to be told sorry, it is out of stock but here is $15. I dont have anything against store, but I was looking for frontline plus for dogs 22-45 lbs. It was behind glass (of course) and the price was marked $69.00 for 3 applications. They sell it for $35 at petco on line (plus shipping) as do petmeds etc........I went across the street and bought the exact same product for $39.00 in the store at the walmart superstore. I dont know if this is mismarked or they are just ripping people off for the convenience of buying in store. read more

So after being contacted by the company regarding my issue, I was told they would look into what happened. After 3 weeks all they did was have the same store manager call me to apologize. He did not offer any kind of resolution other than bringing my dog back to have another groomer bathe my dog. Really! They could of offered a free groom or even a gift card. Something!
