Yesterday I went to Petco to purchase some cold weather boots for my Beagle, Oliver. When we, Oliver & I, entered the store a smiling young lady was standing behind a table. She not only directed me to the boots, she assisted me in selecting a set. Oliver was so excited he got me all twisted up in his leash. The staff was so helpful, seeing that I was struggling to control my fur baby. The kindness and helpfulness of the staff is why I will go back. read more

Really disappointed in the lack of professionalism received 7/8/2025 from the Vetco Clinic in Dardenne Prairie. Took my dog for routine vax and female Dr (who wouldn't share her name), was incredibly aggressive and rude while asking them to help ease my dog's nervousness. She said she'd need to restrain and muzzle my well behaved dog. I challenged her on her behavior and because I did, she refused to help my dog. Do not use these guys for vet services. Very professional and will not help make your dog feel comfortable. read more

While I have done most of my pet shopping here, I decided to have my mini-Aussie groomed here. At least, that was the plan. After being on their waiting list for nearly a month, they called me a few hours before his appointment time and said that the groomer was sick and that she would be going home early--therefore, she would not be able to do the grooming. These things happen, but their policy requires 2 days' notice of cancellation. In all fairness, they did offer a 3 p.m. appointment for the next day. My dog tends to get nervous about these things. For his comfort, I gave him his anxiety medication a few hours before the appointment. I arrived just before my appointment, and the first thing I saw was an employee with bright green hair and pink/yellow earrings--screams of professionalism. A snippy groomer checked me in. I mentioned that I gave him anxiety medication (issued by my vet), and she told me that they wouldn't be able to groom him because of that! She said "That policy is not on our website, but should be." What a colossal waste of time! I took off work early to bring him up there, only to find out this. Not only will I not bring my dog there for grooming, but I will not shop here in the future because of this. What a frustrating experience. read more

If you want a tank that cracks after spending 300 dollars buy one here! Bought a tank 29 days ago. As I am doing maintenance tonight i see a crack. Immediately I call and am asking for a refund. She says I have till tonight to bring in this tank at this point, it is 5pm. I tell her how would I be able to bring a tank full of fish jokingly because there is no way that I can Empty out my 75 gallon tank find somewhere to put the fish so I could return it. Mind you I also do not have a truck on hand so I wouldn't be able to bring it in. It is too big for my car. Also, I am the only one home so I cannot bring it myself anyway. She basically said, sucks to suck and I have till tonight to bring it in. I call corporate and corporate says since I bought it in store, they cannot refund me or return it or even look up my order because it was in store. Petco is a joke. Everyone in that store is high and doesn't know how to take care of fish properly. I have spent thousands of dollars at this store And will never come back. save your money and go to petland where their fish are better taken care of and have better quality products read more

We have used the Vetco clinic several times for several different dogs over the years. We took Brownie in 2 weeks ago and were told as long as he'd had a heartworm test within 12 months we could get a prescription. We got the lepto shot and we were told to come back in 2 weeks for the booster and there would not be an additional charge. We showed up for his booster and they said it would be $50, the shot plus disposal fee. Why do they tell you one thing then another when you show up. Last year we took them to the regular vet. No surprise cost there. Didn't think we'd get jerked around from this. read more

Highly recommend for grooming!! And extremely affordable. We've been taking our 4 fur pups to Pet Co on Hwy N for several years now for grooming and highly recommend both Monte & Kayla as they both do a Phenomenal job! The pups are pampered, loved and well taken care of. This means a lot to us because we have two special needs doggies. One of which had spinal surgery. Another was a Breeder Rescue Who lived her life in a crate and had never been held or loved prior to being with our family. The fact these groomers knew how to work with our pups gently as well as genuinely cared, meant a lot to us. When we picked them up, we could tell they were nurtured and loved. read more

Our pup never wants to leave! She gets so much love and attention from the workers here! One worker greeted us at the door and pup happy-peed when she saw her... I started to grab the cleaning supplies but the worker insisted on cleaning up the puddle. Regular priced items are a little steep, so we usually shop the marked-downs and find some really great deals. After we check out, our pup will sit in the door way and beg to stay lol! read more

When a grown man stands there just watching my 100 pound 18 year old daughter load several 47 pound bags of dog food she's delivering for Door Dash, without offering to assist, that is pretty damn shitty. If you are willing to help the customers that come into your store, then you should be willing to help the DoorDash drivers who are literally helping your customers too lazy to come in and get their own dog food. Oh, and by the way... We are aware that Petco employees themselves placed the order because they did not want to have to deliver the dog food. So the order for delivery went through Petco website, and the employees placed it through DoorDash. And then refused to help load it into the car or into her car. Ridiculous! read more

Love Petco for their supply, but their training services have a lot to be desired. We recently signed up with the dardenne prairie location to have our puppies go through their training program. The trainer Carlie, seems like just another run of the mill recently AKC certified trainer without the depth and expertise across many breeds not to mention her tact with customers was absolutely horrible making us feel like the way we trained our olders dogs (through a nationally recognized trainer with 20 yrs experience) was wrong and when we brought up our approach to a couple of things she not only made us feel stupid but bashed our trainer and his practices. Never again and I would not recommend her and this location. read more

The staff is always so friendly. I brought our dog in to have her nails trimmed and Molly did such a fantastic job. They had gotten so long and instead of just a quick trim, she really took the time to get them as short as possible. We'll be back for sure! read more

Once we registered there was no wait. I had 2 dogs and they were finished in under a half hour. They did a great job with nail clipping and filing. Petco had a special on teeth brushing. Even my sensitive dog liked the toothpaste. read more

Carlie has been AMAZING to work with for training with my dog! I had considered other training programs, but ultimately selected individualized training sessions with Carlie at Petco based on her initial interactions with my incredibly anxious rescue dog. Her presence was so calming that it helped to put my pup at ease at little bit. Now that we have been training with Carlie for several weeks, my pup has become more confident and both my dog and I have learned so much in such a short amount of time. Carlie really takes the time to address your concerns about your dog's behavior and problem solves issues with you. She gives specific strategies to practice, adapts and modifies training to meet the needs of her clients, gives clear demonstrations during training, and gives you ample opportunity to practice. It is also clear how much she truly loves my pup! I would highly recommend dog training with Carlie! I also want to give a shout out to AJ at this location for his help today! On grooming day, I ask my pups if they are ready to go and see Kayla - they jump in the car and try to climb over the counter to get to her! I trust her, she's honest - never tries to add on additional unneeded services - she is always professional and does a great job. Rhonda and her crew at Petco grooming are outstanding! Easy to make appointments and very friendly staff . My normally very nervous dog loves getting groomed there. They are very detailed oriented and make sure that they know all about your pet before grooming them and they always make sure that they tell you about any issues they may find with your pet after the grooming. Rhonda has been very dependable and become my dogs friend over the last several years! I highly recommend this location. read more

Pathetic customer service. I have lost count of the amount of times I have stood waiting for a cashier to show up. Either hire more people or teach the employees to multi task. Nearly every time I have waited, an employee walked right past me without a word. Don't worry, they won't be missing from duty if you forgot your mask. They are all over that. read more

I took my dog in for grooming. A mistake that almost resulted in his death. While I was checking out I saw through their window the groomer not once but twice let me dog fall of the table. Both times catching by his neck. The second time they weren't even paying attention and left the dog hanging by their hook until I started to yell to get my dog out of there. I did receive a phone call after leaving from the store manager Steve. Steve informed me that he thought his groomers delay and going around the table to stop my dog from hanging was "completely unacceptable" however he didn't fire the groomer and was going to continue their employment. I don't know how many times an employee is allowed to endanger an animals life and keep their job but at a pet store I would think once is two much. If "completely unacceptable" work performance is allowed to the point where it endangers an animals life in plain view of the customer I would hate to see what is going on behind closed doors. I will never go to a Petco for anything let alone grooming services. If you value your pets life I would recommend avoiding this store at all cost. read more

We took our two dogs to the groomers and had a horrible experience. First, please keep in mind we had a great locally owned groomer we used to go to for all our pets, but we moved so we had to go elsewhere. We love the Pet Pals rewards card, so we thought we would give this a try. Our dogs look great, but the process and service is terrible. We took our dogs in for an actual APPOINTMENT at 10:00 A.M. and were told they would be done in about 4 hours. Ok, no big deal that is the norm. Well, we went up there at 2:30 because they hadn't called us yet and we wanted to make sure everything was ok. AT this point we were informed that they had no ETA for our dogs because they were short a groomer and walk-ins had come in that day. I am sorry...did you say walk-ins? Why the hell would you take a walk-in over people that did the right thing by calling? I don't care if they just needed nail trimming. They could've called ahead like everyone else. You made everyone else that had an appointment put their entire day on hold and didn't bother to call anyone to say hey we are sorry for the delay. Even that might have made me a little better, but when we have to go up there because you couldn't pick up the phone to tell us that and then you don't have our dogs done until 5:30 P.M. and have the balls to charge full price, but give a coupon for the next visit...THERE WON'T BE A NEXT VISIT. On top of it our dogs didn't get to use the bathroom that whole time, but they got water, so guess who needed to pee after the nice stay there?! And lastly, I am actually taking one of the dogs to the vet today because they have a cold and if I had to guess...it probably came from being at that place considering I have had 4 dogs in my life and never had any of them get a cold before. read more

I love the Petco store at Dardenne Prairie MO. I am always greeted kindly, questions answered knowledgeably, and the important thing to me is that they carry the Tomlyn high calorie gel vitamin that my dog needs. At petsmart they only carry the gnc brand which I grabbed at petsmart in a hurry. it was about $15 & my dog hates it. she refuses to take it. Petco carries the tomlyn high calorie gel vitamin which my dachshund likes and takes fairly easily. Thank You to the store for carrying what I need, and at a great price. I had been getting it at petland less that a mile from your store and found I was paying about double the price there. Now--So glad you have it there, and at about half the price! read more

When you call and make an appointment with a specific groomer and then arrive and they tell you that it is her day off...why did they schedule the appointment in the beginning. I tell you what I think...they probably expected me to just leave my dog and let anyone groom her. If that was the case, I wouldn't have asked for a specific groomer!!!
