I cannot recommend Bonnie at Dirty Dog Wash StL highly enough! We came in near the end of the work-day, washed our German Shepherd, then asked for a quick nail trim. One person advised that unfortunately they wouldn't have time that day, but Bonnie came over, took a look at Max, and said she'd do it (his nails were pretty long, we'd been putting it off because he was diagnosed with Epilepsy recently and we're afraid of stressing him out). We got him up on the table and she was so gentle with him. It went smoothly. During the trim she noticed that I didn't blow him out nearly enough and said she'd show me how to do it. We spent about 15 minutes on him with the air dryers, hair flying everywhere (I mean everywhere, in our eyes, noses, mouths)!! She totally didn't have to do this, because I paid for the self-service only. When we were all finished, I was ready to pay for the trim and for her grooming help, but she wouldn't take even a penny from me. She said "It's on me today. Have a great rest of your day!" I gave her a huge hug, and said "Are you sure??" And she said yes, and wouldn't even ring me up. I told her I'd leave a great review, and here I am. Cannot recommend Bonnie highly enough! Brought my dog here to use their self wash. The setup of this place is a bit odd. They give the dogs their haircuts in the front "check-in" area. This area also has a bunch of random stuff all over the place. The bath went fine. It was clean and the shampoo smelled good. The worst part was the vacuums. We started one up and a flurry of other dogs fur was flying around us like a tornado. I left with other dogs hair in my mouth, eyes and all over my clothes. They must have never cleaned that vacuum. It was unlike anything I have ever experienced before. I will not be back. read more

We take our 3 golden doodles here. Our most recent visit the employee (Brie) told us all 3 had to be shaved. One we could side with, one we doubted, and the third we work daily on so we disagreed. We went ahead and had the first 2 cut/shaved for sake of argument but said we'd wait on the 3rd as we had family pics planned with him. Brie then stated we owe a cancellation fee then. This was infuriating as we just let them cut our other two dogs and since we weren't aware they would force us to shave the 3rd we wanted to wait on his hair cut. We asked to speak to the owner and left. We went 8 min down the street to another groomer and asked if they would just look at our 3rd dog and they said he didn't need to be shaved at all. We have decided to take all 3 dogs to this new groomer moving forward. Dirty dog wash just seems like they don't want to take their time with the dogs and just get the money and get them out. Poor customer service that will make them lose customer loyalty. I'm giving this 2 stars only because the owner did call us, was very nice, and apologized for our experience. It's unfortunate one employee can leave such an impression that the company loses 3 dogs' business. read more

Bonnie and Ali were very helpful with our first visit! Very clean place and my dog used the stairs up to the bathtub just fine- towels and apron appreciated! The drying station was great and it helped with our Aussie who would prefer to leave wet and roll in the grass!!! No chance this time- clean AND dry! We have been coming here for a while now with various groomers given the high turnover in the company. The last time I bought my dog here was not a good experience. I gave extremely specific directions on the overall cut, to cut the nails, and clean out the ears. The cut was completely different than what I had asked for, nails were not cut, and ears were not cleaned. I called to ask if they could remedy the situation at which point they said yes. By the time I was able to bring my dog back to the place, they stated that too much time has passed despite me explaining my demanding schedule and me bringing my dog at the earliest possible time I could. Although I understand they have to protect the groomers and their time, it's also not acceptable to not do their job and for me to pay for services that were not done. I am extremely disheartened and disappointed. read more

I just moved to Chesterfield and am always nervous getting my dog's haircut. This place was AWESOME! They did a really great job with my dog's hair, she was in great spirits when she left- not at all scared. It was clear that they really wanted me to be happy- asking what I wanted her hair to be cut like- letting me know that they took notes about what they did so they can refer back to them next time if I liked it. I recently discovered Dirty Dog Wash when I needed to give my dog a bath but didn't want to pay for her to go to the groomers. I've been there twice now, and like to recommend this place to anyone who needs a self serve dog wash. The way it is set up inside is very inviting and makes it super easy for people to clean their dog. When you first walk in and tell them you need to give your dog a bath, they will take you in the back and give you an apron so you don't get wet. Then you can put your dog in the tub that is elevated which makes it easy on the back. They even have a shower stall if you have a bigger dog and don't want to fight with putting them in the tub. There are multiple shampoos you can choose from to use to make your dog smell clean. My favorite is the plum, because it smells really good. The next step is onto the high velocity blow dryer, which does a great job at getting the dog dry. After your pup is dry, you can brush them and choose from a variety of fragrance sprays to make them smell extra fresh! In addition to being a self-serve dog wash, they also do grooming for you including nail trims, teeth brushing, and anything else the dog may need to look nice. They have a punch card and if you visit so many times your 10th visit is free! My puppy loves this place, and anytime I am needing to get her clean I'll take her here. Roxanne Sullivan from DirtyDogWash is nothing shy of a miracle worker. For six years, my family and I have effectively been held hostage by our dog, Gigi, an almost 7-year old mixed breed rescue. Gigi was entirely untrained when we got her, but she demonstrated herself to be a quick study and eager to please. The one command, however, that she did not learn and showed no interest in mastering, was recall. Any circumstance that required a door to our home being opened necessitated either restraining Gigi, confirming that she was crated, or that she was in a fenced area behind our house. A devoted runner, Gigi nonetheless stole her opportunities resulting in a no holds barred all family effort to retrieve her, a game of "catch the dog" she thoroughly enjoyed. Although the introduction of a GPS tracker took a large part of the fun out of this game, escaping remained her favorite opportunistic activity. I finally resolved to end this behavior and began interviewing trainers and training facilities. Roxanne was the first trainer to ask me about my dog, rather then tell me about a one-size fits all training technique. She suggested and explained a clear and logical training program designed to suit my particular dog & her problem behavior, outlined a rough time frame in which to accomplish this goal and suggested she evaluate Gigi in person to be sure the plan she had created based on my description of the dog actually matched the dog herself. In three sessions, Roxanne had Gigi coming to me when I called her, despite being in an open, fenceless, unfamiliar green space, off leash. Although I am still working with Gigi to maintain her attention to me despite increasing distractions, the fact that we can have our beloved dog out in the open, fence-free and leash-free, is not only a joyous revelation for my entire family, it is a tremendous load of stress out of our lives to know that our dog is safer for this new and vital skill. We had a 1-year old Australian Labradoodle who had been to socialization classes, puppy school, basic obedience, and he was not strong on any of his commands except "sit." Ashton was referred to me, and she is AMAZING! With 10 lessons under his belt, Seamus now sits, stays, down stays, goes to "climb" (on a cot) and most importantly comes immediately when called. Seamus is 2 now and I can walk him in our subdivision off-leash, and he comes the second I call him. By the end of our lessons, Seamus was able to pass the Canine Good Citizen Test. Ashton makes training FUN for the dog and his mom or dad. She is organized, ordered and speaks fluent dog. You will do your self and your dog a favor if you work with Ashton.
