What an abysmal trip to Petco today. Madison, the peraon "working" the register was MIA and walking around the store being unhelpful like the rest of staff and managers. Meanwhile a line was building at the register, so the manager slammed her door before coming back out on the phone, and continuing to be unhelpful. Finally Madison shows up and starts helping customers. She checked me out and hands me a receipt, but doesn't even bother to bag my items or hand them to me. Just a receipt and "have a good one" like seriously? I understand it's a crappy job but you can do the bare minimum of ringing up customers and bagging their items. This place has really gone downhill and I'd be better off going to Amazon and getting broken reptile bulbs than this. read more

I stopped by Petco for some basic aquarium needs. Their aquatics department was very nice..I have to say I was a bit surprised. A nice guy named Ken helped me get some ghost shrimp, and Endlers guppies. We talked for a few minutes...he was knowledgeable, offered some good advice and asked me to to bring in a photo of the new nano tank when it was all grown out. They had a good selection of plants and inverts for planted freshwater aquaria if thats your thing. I will beback. I was impressed by Petcos selection and customer service. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Stood by the fish for 20 minutes waiting for helping. Not quietly either. My 10 year old was asking about fish and my two year old was screaming. Yet every time someone new would come in, they would help them and still ignore us. Finally got help just to be told there were none of the main fish we needed.... so I stead of spending $150 on fish, like we would have... I decided to just leave instead of getting any. With terrible customer service I'd rather not give them any of my money. Not to mention almost every tank had at least one dead fish floating in it. Sad. read more

they have a large choice of cat products :) i go here frequently to purchase stuff for my cats such as toys and food! the only complaint i have is i dislike that they sell flea shampoo that is known to be harmful to cats and kittens (product is shown in the pictures, many reviews of this product on amazon claim to it harming their cat/kitten, causing illness or killing them. i would definitely never recommend this product, dawn dish soap is much better!). other than that i enjoy shopping here and have always had good experiences with the workers. read more

I have been a FREQUENT customer of this store for almost 2 years. The quality of the shopping experience here has drastically declined. I often spend $60 - 100 per week on supplies for my animals. Today was the tipping point. I came in for a quick stop, fish food. I breed so I go through food quickly. I came and got what I needed but no employees in the aquarium department to get me some live plants. I wander the whole store to find a single employee at the register. I ask for help and she says "they're probably busy helping someone else". So I go back... still nobody there. A few more customers come in and are looking around. Meanwhile I'm standing at the counter ready. The employee who finally shows up walks directly past me at the counter, and to the customers still browsing. Needless to say I left, and will be taking my business online from now on. Petco was my last hope for a local aquatics retailer. Unfortunately the service is poor, and lately many things have been out ot stock. ​ read more

I go to petco for the self dog wash. Well, this time I needed to get my pup a nail trim, too (I usually go to petsmart for nails but figured I'd save a trip). I called ahead to confirm that I didn't need an appointment. I got there, and was reading a sign that said "walk in service available" and it described a nail trim, 15 minute brushing, etc. and was $20. I asked for that, and was told by Ann, "I am clocking out in 10 minutes." Then she asked another worker if she would have time, and the woman said "no". So I agreed to just get the nail trim (but was a bit annoyed that that service is even listed as a walk-in...). Anyway, I went to pay, and came back in the grooming part of the store to get her nails done. As soon as Ann got my pup up on the table, she said (not quietly), "I'm supposed to clock out in two minutes." I then said "I'm sorry, if you don't have time for this, you don't have to do it." Then she was apologetic and said "no, it's no problem." Well, I found her attitude the ENTIRE time to be very rude. This was not the first time I have had her wait on me and be less than friendly. When she finished the nail trim, I went back there to the room for the self-wash, and she followed me in there to apologize (sort of cornering me in there - it's not a large room!) and said that "another colleague left early... it wasn't about you at all" - well, if that was the case, then be friendlier to me from the get-go! What arguably bothered me the most was that, after complaining twice about how she was supposed to be clocking out, I looked behind me as I was drying off my pup (this was probably 15 minutes in...) and I saw Ann standing there staring at us! Which begs the questions of "if you were just going to stay at work and stand there... what was the rush and the point of the vocalized complaint?!" I suspected that maybe she thought I was going to say something. Which I did to a gal named Kelly at the front register (Kelly was apologetic and helpful). I LOVE that petco has a self-wash tub. I bring my own shampoo (another review on here was right - their shampoo is watery...), and I love to give my own pup a bath and not use my tub. However, I can confidently say that I will never get a grooming service at petco. I'll stick to petsmart like I should have done in the first place. read more

Cassi LOVES her groomer, Ann. Before coming to Petco, Cassi used to hate the "beauty shop". Now she loves going to see Ann which tells me she is treated well when we aren't around. I feel confident that she will have a good experience and I know they make her look and smell great! read more

Very disappointed with the customer service at this store. There have been multiple times we have tried to buy crickets, and have stood around waiting for almost 20 minutes. I'm assuming they would not let only 1 person work at the store, but who knows, maybe they just don't care about their customer satisfaction rates. read more

Hands down the best pet store in the area. Fantastic customer service! The employees are incredibly helpful and give great advice. The grooming service is also great. Plus, the open layout means the store can have a lot of customers without ever making you feel crowded. (I avoid PetSmart stores because I always feel boxed in and suffocated even when there are very few people in the store.) Most importantly, it's super clean. No matter how many people and pets in there, I have never seen the place less than spotless. Incredible. read more

This Petco is an absolute dump. Almost every fish in the salt water tanks had Ich and other diseases. Every time we visit the ferret and small animal enclosures it is beyond disgusting to see them live in such dirty and disgusting cages. I've had ferrets for years and can tell you the ferret enclosure most definitely needs a daily deep cleaning. The stench was horrendous. I left completely upset to see the small animals have to endure that abuse. The entire store has a very dirty smell. read more

Awesome saltwater fish and coral collection, I don't know why their selection is so much better than all the other Petcos. I drive an hour to get to this one and avoid several other stores due to prices and selections. read more

We were here from out of town and I wanted to wash my dog. They offer a self-service, but you'd do well to bring your own shampoo and conditioner because the only thing they offer is some very watered-down no-brand shampoo. I understand the reason behind diluting the shampoo, but they went way too far. Another issue was the towels they gave me. They were very old, stained, and covered in other dog's hair! My dog ended up with that hair on her after I tried to towel-dry her. It's extremely, EXTREMELY noisy. I remarked about that and was offered some ear plugs which I definitely used. Where I usually wash my dog they offer clean towels, shampoo AND conditioner, a solution for cleaning the ears, and a tear-free solution to wash the face. They also offer the use of their nail clippers and brushes. Their tubs are ceramic with walk up ramps, whereas at Petco the tubs are all metal and the noise echoes loudly. The person showing me the tub threw the metal ramp door into the tub and badly scared my dog. She offered no apology. They do not carry Acana dog food. If i lived here I would never go back to that place. Glad I don't. read more
