Tiffany at the grooming salon was spectacular! My mother and I brought my dog keely in to get her nails trimmed. However, it was only a few minutes before 8 which turns out was also near close time. She kindly let us know that walk-ins are usually not taken after 7 :30 (understandably). Keely is usually a vicious little rat (i.e. a chihuahua) but surprisingly as soon as Tiffany took her into her arms with confidence and care she behaved perfectly. That's NEVER happened! Worst ever. If you have a dog i definitely would not go there for supplies or food or anything. The two times we've been there they were zero helpful and the one person who tried to help (was on training) and had to ask another employee who was super super rude. If I could give a negative review I would!! I first pointed out the sick and a dead African dwarf frog to an associate to which he responded "we just got in a new shipment". Ok, that's fine I understand but you'd think they'd be hasty to remove such pets from the rest. I come back an hour or so later because I had decided I wanted to save and treat the sick little frog with a fungus hand/arm. They were both still in the tank and the manager was short with me and rudely denied me taking over the care for the pet! I have a Q-tank and have an action plan to cure him but instead he said "we do not give away nor sell sick pets. They go to our quarenteen tank until they're better or die!" As he then reaches into the tank grabs the poor fellow and then plops him into another tank that mind you is still connected to the full wall of tanks!! He had no plans of medicating him with daily water changes and the rest of the frogs that have now been exposed and will be sick in a matter of time are not receiving prophylactic treatment but instead are still for sale to be brought home and get other people's tanks sick!!! Very poor care mister and you just lost a customer! read more

Terrible experience today at this location. So, let me start with the fact that I walk into this store today at 10:30 (ish) AM to buy my English Bulldog some food. Mind you, she's very sensitive to a lot of different types of brands so I have to be careful as to what I give her. I happen to see a new brand of food (Doctors Foster and Smith) and liked what I read and saw on the packaging. It seemed like a new product so I went over to a sales associate to inquire about it. When I asked her what her take on the product was, she blatantly told me she didn't know anything about it because it was new. I said that was fine, but perhaps she could direct me to someone who had more product knowledge. She said, "no one knows anything about that brand cause we just go it". She didn't offer to help me in any other way and basically was ZERO help. She was very cold, rude, and honestly just didn't seem like she cared whether I found what I was looking for or not. I understand that they carry a lot of brands, but why aren't the SALES ASSOCIATES trained on product knowledge??? Come on. Despite the lack of help I got at this store, I still took a bag of food to try it out. Worst case scenario, my dog wouldn't like it and I could bring it back. I did a quick search for reviews on the internet and was pleased so I proceeded to checkout. When I get to the register, the cashier named Gabrielle rings me up and I noticed that she didn't take off the $5 discount that was advertised on a sign in front of the entire display of products. I kindly asked to review the information cause of the sign I saw and she says "OH. Well, just go over there and take a picture of the sign and bring it back to show me. It's not that I don't believe you, but I just need proof". Again, I understand what she's trying to say, but why would I have to prove anything to her??? That's not my job!!! Before I could say anything, the girl who didn't know anything about the brand I bought, runs over to where the sign was, grabs it, and brings it to the register. She said, "they put the sign up too early but its okay we will give you the discount anyway". I said thank you and as I'm checking out, I pull out cash to pay for the dog food and this little girl has the audacity to ask me if I'm a STRIPPER cause I have so many dollar bills!!!! LOL at this point, this is just comical. Someone really needs to retrain these girls or hire some new associates because they were not the sharpest tools in the shed. Who ever was in the grooming department this morning should be drug tested as he is/was highly emotionally unstable. I wouldn't leave my dog there if you paid me. I was told to be there at 8 am for grooming appointment, because that's all they had. The doors were still locked at 8:10am, when this employee comes dramatically flying whining about just coming back from vacation, and couldn't find my appointment and wasn't ready yet. Dramatically flailing his arms around as if the world was ending. After listening to 10-15 minutes of his mental break down, I got annoyed and said "dude , you need to get your sh.t together " . Which obviously caused his emotional state to deteriorate. And told me " we won't be seeing your dog again ". I responded, lol you got that right! I wouldn't leave a dead dog with someone of his mental competence. Was forced to choose 1 Star , negative 10 is more appropriate. Save yourself some time and go somewhere else. This is for the grooming salon only. My dog has a rough coat (outer coat with coarse hair and undercoat with fine downy hair that sheds like crazy) that blows out several times a year now that we live in Houston. It is more than I can handle so I scheduled a de-shedding bath and furminator brush out. Kenneth did an incredible job! My dog looks like she lost weight; that's how much undercoat came out with the furminator brush. She smells good too. He also trimmed up the fur in between her toes. She came out happy and looks so good! This was our first time here and we will be back for sure. read more

Brought our 2 female huskies in today and Tanae did both of them perfectly! It's Spring and they have heavy under coat to brush out... detangle shampoo, cut nails, certain long areas etc... and cleaned ears... I have 2 more to bring in on Wednesday... I'm certain they will look just as beautiful. I highly recommend her for taking care of your loving pets! read more

I have just had an awful experience at this location because of the manager, Catherine. She was rude and dismissive. I have filed a complaint with corporate and we will see how that goes. I was in the store, training an anxious dog. The store dog trainer was also working with an anxious dog. As the owner of the other dog asked to pet the dog I was working with, I politely said no, as that is how either I lose the trust of the dog I am working with, or the dog might bite out of fear. Just then, the trainer was allowing others to approach the anxious dog she was training. I mentioned to the owner, they should not let people advance into a scared dog's space. The manager, passes by at this moment and rudely tells me not to speak to the customers and the dog is in their training. I ignore her comment, walk away and continue to work with my client's dog. I had decided place command was the best exercise for the setting, so I borrowed a nylon dog bed ( one that cleans easily and doesn't rip) and continued training. After putting the bed up, and making my purchase, the manager approaches me, again rudely. And informed I was not to use their products. Which is fair, though plenty of people come in to try out products prior to buying them and don't always buy every product they test. So I responded, I can bring in my own bed but I wasn't sure if I could do that. The manager then reiterated that I was not to interfer, as in talk to customers, about their training. She was rude and dismissive, so I told her as much then asked for her name. She then stated I was not to come back into the store. A store where most employees know me and my dogs, but this was my first interaction with this manager. I have never been so appalled by a manager. read more

I took my son here to purchase a red ear slider. The associate BILL done a fantastic job in assisting us! He made sure that my son understood the importance of taking care of the turtle. He also listened to my son and helped us very promptly. He even checked us out rapidly after filling out the appropriate paper work since the check out lines were filled. I even noticed that he stayed and continued to help check out other customers after we left. He was extremely friendly and helpful! read more

I left my dog for grooming at the Petco grooming salon in June, 2010. As soon as I got in the car from picking him up, I noticed he had trouble breathing. I ended up taking him to the animal emergency clinic a few hours later and he died during the night. I was too upset to immediately go back to the store. When I later wrote them a letter about the incident and asked to speak to the manager (who supposedly was not in) I did not receive any response. They are heartless. Obviously something happened to my dog when he was there. Even if it was natural causes, someone familiar with animals would have immediately known he was in distress. Please do not take your dog there for grooming. The agreement you sign to allow them to groom releases them from all liability. read more

The manager and associates go above and beyond the typical pet store (especially a corporate one). My pup and I visit after daycare and often times she gets a free treat even if we don't purchase anything. I hear the associates greet regulars by name and are available to help you find what you need and offer suggestions. Keep up the good work! read more

Took two dogs in for a bathe and under coat treatment for $132.00. I paid $60 extra for the under coat treatment. When I got them home, my son took them to the back yard and had to brush them to get all the loose hair off. Unfortunately, the under coat treatment was not performed. He gathered over two Walmart bags full of hair. I went back to talk to the manager who then took me to the grooming manager. At first they said they would talk to the groomer. Then finally asked if I wanted credit for the next time I brought the dogs for grooming. When I said no that I would not use their service again, they said ok. They were not willing to do anything until I stated I paid for a service that was not provided. They finally paid me back the $60. Will not take my dogs there again, nor would I recommend their services. read more

I had gone to this exact Petco to drop my 10lb small dog off, while i was checking him in and picking out his hair cut, the lady who had helped me had been very rude and just didn't seem to want to be there or talk to me, and i had looked over at a german shepherd sized dog and they were using a wire brush on him, but anyone who owns a dog knows wire brushes aren't comfortable at all for the animal, and she seemed to be quite rough with the brush as well, most likely from being in discomfort, the dog lashed out and bit the groomers hand, the groomer proceeded to hit the dog in the face and yell at the animal, then angrily and roughly put a muzzle on the dog. i have also picked up my dog, shaking and just scared. I'm never sure if they are as rough with the bigger dogs as my small one. My dog doesn't like being in foreign places, but he just seems petrified when i picked him up, as buying things from the actual store, I've never had any problems, but i would never recommend the groomers to any animal lover, they just aren't caring of the animal. I would recommend a small owned pet groomers, more home grown and natural and usually hold caring people who enjoy grooming animals. read more
