There is no "0" I brought my dog there to be groomed today for the first time only to be told that I had been there before 3 yrs ago. I was there for a rabies shot never grooming. I picked the cut I want in went into great detail with the groomer about the ears and muzzle. When I returned there was an extra charge of $12 on the bill for "nail buffing" I've never heard of nail buffing and it is not listed in their standard groom and I did not ask for it. When I questioned it ... "the groomer wasn't around". So that was that! The face and ears were not even close to what I discussed and my dog was panting with white spit around his mouth. The cashier asked if I wanted to tip the groomer which I declined. I know myself in these situations and decided to leave the store after complaining to-the "kid" who back in grooming and the cashier. I'm leaving this review because it is the first time I have used PETCO grooming services and will never return. Watch for additional charges and disappearing groomers. I will return to Pet Smart where I have been more than happy with for many years. I thought closer was better and I was wrong. read more

I brought my mini golden doodle to PetCo in Kenosha on Green Bay Road to have him groomed. He has been going there since he was a puppy. He is now 2. I asked Kodi to not shave him. They charged me extra because they said he was matted. He was not! They charged me for combing him for 15 minutes. if they combed him for 15 minutes why did they have to shave him. My daughter and I were just there to purchase a few items and at the register the guy asked if we wanted a bag and they cost 10 cents each! Like we don't pay enough for everything right now! Prices have gone up on everything and you are seriously charging me 10 cents for a plastic bag that is so thin and breaks before I even get it in the house. It's not the point that it's 10 cents it's the point of being charged for it, even Aldi has better bags to buy. No posted sign anywhere telling me that I need my own bags. 3 of my dog's nail were cut so short they were bleeding. We were not Told so we put her right in the tub for a bath. Wish you had told us and we sould have put her bath off dor a day. As it was, her legs were covered in blood by the time she got home, as well as our vehicle and our carpets and flooring. Just took my 3 baby husky to get groom done. This place got no "good" Communication. I got prof for paper and phone call that my app was push back 30 min of what I called and agreed upon. Was there on time. They won't take my dogs. The groom girls was all nasty, racist, bad attitude. It's seem like none of these ppl have ever graduated from high school no education background. I used to be a huge fan of this store. Their petwash service is convenient and affordable. However, yesterday I had the worst experience ever with them, 3 different ways: 1) Coming in, the man at the register asks you first "Do you have a petco card?" - no hello, welcome to Petco, hi, nothing. If you've read my reviews, you know this is a pet peeve of mine. 2) I purchase a dogwash, and he hands me two bottles of shampoo and conditioner. They used to give you a basket with shampoo, conditioner, towels. I asked for towels, the young man tells me that they are in the dogwash area. I get there, guess what? - no towels. So I go over to the grooming area to ask, and I have to wait for about 10 minutes while the woman in front of me arranges for the longest nail trim in history. Then, I get the towels, and they feel like straw mats. They are threadbare, and rough! But fine, I've already paid for this. I start the water and start to shampoo my dog, only to find out that the shampoo is so watered down that it is not slick and won't sud. I have a short-haired 20Lb dog, and this was not enough to wash the whole dog. 3) On the way out, I tell the man at the register (a different man) that the whole thing was unsatisfactory, and instead of taking the feedback to pass on, he starts arguing with me, telling me that the shampoo is watery so that it does not cause irritation, and it's non-sudsing. Seriously, do you think I was born yesterday? All in all, awful experience. I won't be coming back. read more

We love using Petco unleashed. What a wonderful service and the price is great. Having a midsize dog it sure is nice to have a tub that sits up higher with the proper drains for the hair and water temperature. We usually bring our own shampoo but shampoo, conditioner, towels, aprons and cubbies are also provided all for only $10! Not to mention the blow dryers and courteous service. Petco sold me live rocks that they should have cleaned before selling them to me, come to find out they are infested with Bristle worms. They don't have anything to help me get them out of my brand new salt water tank. I have followed all the step and task they have given me these past 3 weeks to get ready to add coral. Yesterday they had to send me to Good Waters to help me out with the infestation of worms. Good Waters told me before they should put them in their tanks to sell to customers, they need to be treated. I'm very upset, my coral sand, fish, shrimp and my crabs are stressed out. Petco sees nothing wrong with what they did. I never asked nor purchased any bristle worms . I didn't see any signs saying free bristle worm with purchase of live rock either nor was I warmed that they could be infected in my rocks because they never cleaned or treated the live rock. They sent me home to remove the with tweezers. They said that's what they do. I have seen/removed so far 4 dozen of worms. If you touch them, they leave quills in your skin which is very painful. I thank Good Waters and Internet for the help of this disgusting worms. I will never shop there again. Our 14 year relationship is over and I will be reporting them to the BBB. read more

Yesterday I had an appointment with Heather to get our dog, Dottie groomed. She comes out to the desk, never says "Hi". Very unfriendly throughout the short visit. I asked if she had groomed Dottie last time, as she (Shelby) did a great job. She barks out if you want the same gal you need to specify that. I explained I didn't have that kind of time, so no this would be fine. Two hours or so later I pick up my dog. The haircut is terrible, both of her ears are uneven. So hard to explain, at the tip of her nose strands of 3" hair(why?) the mustache is also uneven....very disappointed. An ugly cut for 2 months until I take her for a haircut again. read more

Totally go to pet smart as I am from now on. Two weeks ago I call for a grooming appointment set it up for 12/11/19 at 11am. I get a call from the store on 12/10/19 from Barbara telling me my appointment is at 10:30 am now on 12/11/19 and that I needed to bring two of my three dogs updated records. So I went into the store on 12/11/19 at 10:30 and Nikki the front desk said whom are you and I said we are here for our 11 am appointment but I got a call last night saying it was at 10:30. Than she rudely said well your appointment was at 10am and we are not accepting your appointment today. I than said well my appointment was set two weeks ago and it was at 11 than the call last night Barbara said it's at 10:30 and I am here at 10:30. Than she said well we don't have any of your pets shot records. I said I been coming to petco now for the past year and all my dogs records are there but two that needed to be updated and here are the new dates. She rudely said again we can't take your dogs as your appointment was at 10am. I again no it was supposed to be at 11 and Barbara said last night it's at 10:30 and all I needed to bring was my two dogs updated records. I asked for the manager and they said she is not in today and we will not take your dogs you will need to make another appointment. I than walked out before I went off on the rudeness of these workers. I would avoid this petco and go to pet smart right down the block by target on 50. If I could give this place less than one star I would. In June I bought my first bearded dragon. Ever since I bought her she has been to the vet 4 times. She had to be prescribed medicine and we followed all the procedures to get her healthy again. But it's now 4 months later exactly and she passed away from her sickness coming back. I blame HERE because whenever I would go back to get her food I'd always go look at the dragons and they looked so terrible....the temperatures weren't where they needed to be or humidity levels. Their tails were rotting because they aren't getting the nutrients they need on a daily basis. The greens were cut way to big for them to eat with out it being dangerous. This reveiw is for people to know how terrible they take care of the reptiles. I feel terrible knowing they're probably suffering from not being taken care of. They also don't have any area to bask which is so important for them! We bought her worried about her staying there and she was the coolest thing and looked so happy to be gone from that cage. I wish we could have saved them all from that place. ALSO a terrible place to depend on food for my beardie, she loved roaches but when we went here they were either all dead or months old. They will lie, promise to contact you to resolve, but they won't until you go above all of them, to include the district manager. DO NOT BUY RATS AT PETCO IN KENOSHA OR ANY OTHER WISCONSIN PETCO STORE. I have always gone to Petco before any other pet store because I love their policy of not selling cats and dogs. In addition to not using puppy mills, they also bring in adoptable cats and dogs from local humane societies. I also like their clearance deals. HOWEVER, I cannot recommend that anyone buy a small animal from this store. We bought two rats from the Petco in Kenosha, WI and they got sick within a month with first sneezing, then blood bubbles from the nose and rapid breathing. They died within a few days. Other important information about other Petcos as this seems to be a systemic problem with Petco, not just a problem isolated with the Kenosha store: we then went and bought three rats from this Petco in Oak Creek. All three started sneezing. Within a week and a half, one of them was sickening in the same way that the Kenosha Petco rats had...blood bubbles from the nose, lethargy, etc. The Petco in Oak Creek said that they would not give us the name of a vet that we could take the rat to...and I thought that their policy was that within fifteen days they would pay for vet care as long as it was a vet they recommend, and this was why I was comfortable buy rats at Petco again even after the Kenosha Petco rats had died. The contract implies that you are assured veterinary care for sick pets that you buy as long as it is within fifteen days: "If veterinary care is required within the 15-day period, treatment will be provided through a Petco contracted vet." Instead, on day 14 from when I bought her, they said that they would not let me take Butterscotch (the sick rat from the Petco Oak Creek store) to a contracted vet but that the only way they would take care of her is if I returned her for a refund and they put her in the back of the store. The manager promised that they would take care of her in the store and call us when she gets better when we could repurchase her and take her home. I was very upset at this as I was worried they wouldn't get a vet to look at her or get her any medicine, but they insisted that this was the only option they would give me other than a straight return or exchange for another rat, neither of which I wanted. After doing the paperwork, I gave them my phone number to tape to Butterscotch's cage in the back. They promised they would call to tell me how Butterscotch was doing. It has been a week and a half and I called today. The manager said that the rat hadn't made it....and now I have to tell my kids that Butterscotch is dead. The Petco manager was apologetic about not calling me, but this is ridiculous...and, given the way they rejected my request for an approved vet's name, I don't believe that they actually had a vet look at her and give her medicine. DO NOT BUY RATS AT PETCO. This is quite apart from the disease that the little boy in California got from a Petco rat bite last month. Out of five rats that we bought from Petcos in Wisconsin within two months, 60% DIED of some kind of respiratory disease, and their supposed policy of offering vet care for the first 15 days seems to be baloney. Our remaining two rats are still surviving, but I'm worried that their sneezing is still an indication that they may also sicken and die. If so, I'd rather we take care of them at home than have them die without care in the back of the store, which is what seems to have happened with their sister Butterscotch. read more
