I don't know if it was because my family and kids were with me but they two of the older female employees took a half hour or more to assist us, then when talking to us, talked down to us like we don't know how to take care of a frog. Came here to pick up my cat from her appointment and my dog took a whiz. They have lots of cleaning stations since I guess all the whizzing dogs leave a lot of inspiration for each other. An employee ran out put a slip and fall sign up and he insisted on cleaning for me. What a gentleman! My pomeranian's coat grows extremely quick and she needs to be bathed often since she loves to roll in grass. Unfortunately, this makes it very difficult to keep her fur nice and smooth regardless of the brushing/conditioning I do. Tyler in the grooming salon saved my pom's coat and my sanity. She visits him every few weeks to get pampered and looks fantastic each time! At this store, I bought 3 angelfish and got one for free yesterday but one died the same day. I went to the store look for an exchange. The water of my tank got tested and it's fine. They could not exchange because they said they only had one left but it's sick. I ended up leaving the store without a healthy fish they should have given me. When I asked for store credit they refused. When I asked for a healthy one in the future they said they didn know and refused to do that. They advised "buy 3 get 1 free" but I ended up have 3 potentially sick and my other fish in the tank might get polluted as well. RUDE manager. Normally we don't have any issues with anyone from this store. However tonight was as different story. 2 weeks ago we purchased 1/3 Jumbo Goldfish that the store had on sale for 50% off due to the fact that they were relinquishes to the store. The employee working that night clarified it was in fact all 3 that were relinquished. We said we would be back for them. We have been back many times during these past two weeks. We have 4 cats, 2 dogs, many reptiles, fish and a hamster so we frequent Lacey Petco quite often. Each time I checked if the other 2 gold fish were there. They were. I'll add one had a missing eye so it was not hard to tell they were the same fish. Tonight we decided to go back and purchase the other two fish. The cashier "Pearl" rang my husband up full price. He asked her if they were still 1/2 price due to being surrendered to the store like the other fish had been. She was quite rude and refused to even check. She lied and said she personally put those two goldfish in the tank 3 days ago. Completely untrue. We ended up paying full price because we wanted the fish and had they never been relinquished they would have been full price anyways. Fine and Dandy. What's unacceptable is Pearl took it upon herself to make derogatory comments about another employee whom I will not name, to protect his privacy. Such nice workers... we got an Oscar about a month ago. He's doing well, but he was getting really big. We were trying to figure out what to feed him and will give him the best nutrients. I stopped by this store recently, on the way home from Seattle, it's a quick exit off the interstate. The store is smaller than the one in Olympia, but had a nice selection of items. I needed a bag of puppy food to mix in with another brand that fussy puppy didn't like. Petco sent an online coupon that I was able to use on my phone. The guy who rang up the sale was friendly and helpful and made sure I got the discount. I can't speak for the grooming services or pets for sale, but they have quality name brand dog foods, including Acana and Orijen, which are hard to find. I just wish the store was organized a little better. One thing that caught my eye was the selection of freshly made dog treats, located by the entrance. You can help yourself, and buy as little or as much as you want. The next time I stop by, some of those dog treats will come home with me. read more

On October 22 I purchased a Guinea pig from the Lacey WA store. On Friday November 1st she gave birth to two dead babies. ( We had no idea she was pregnant) I called Petco and spoke to the person that sold her to me. She was very nice and worried that the Guinea Pig had been pregnant and nobody knew. The following three days, the Guinea Pig slowly died. My daughter tried giving her water with a syringe but unfortunately she seemed to be paralyzed by some sort of birthing issue. I called Petco the morning it died and asked to speak to the same person. I was told she didn't work there. When I said I talked to her Friday, she said she had not worked there in weeks. (I believe the original person I talked to was Jessica). The woman was extremely rude. She told me to bring in the Guinea pig and I'd get a refund. No embarrassment or apology that we were given an extremely pregnant Guinea pig that birthed two dead babies and suffered until death. ( not the experience we were looking for). My husband put the dead Guinea pig in the same box as the dead babies. He went to Petco and the woman ( Aubra) said she would handle it because she was expecting him. She told him that the whole thing was "weird". He told her that he brought the bodies in. I'm not sure what more she wanted. She did credit my husband the money. Our credit receipt says we were "unsatisfied". Please do not purchase any animals from this store. This experience was awful for my daughter. They literally didn't care. read more

I have never gone to a better Petco than this one. There is an older lady with brown hair that has been helping with this cat tree ive been trying to get, which was challenging at first because I had to return a few times regarding the tree, but every time, she continues to listen to my concerns and offer solutions in such a thoughtful way! Also there's two younger gals who have been very friendly, approachable and patient! They went ABOVE AND BEYOND to stop what they were doing and help me fit one of these trees into my tiny sedan in the parking lot. All three of these ladies provided me with the best care, customer service and professionalism I have ever seen from any retail store ever. They even apologized for the pet smell, which doesnt bother me at all because Petco is a pet store! Even when it was busy, these three particular gals had their best attitudes. Our regular groomer was unable to get him in without a long wait because of Covid so we came here because we could get in. Now we know why. I said I wanted him to have a summer cut, about half an inch and came to pick him up and he was completely shaved. As he gets groomed regularly - as in every 6-8 weeks, there was absolutely no reason for this to happen. And they charged us $140 for the worst grooming we have ever seen! They limit you to 30 crickets a purchase. This basically equates to a one day supply of food and then they sell out for 5-6 days. Avoid walking through the door if you have your dog with you and the male dog trainer (maybe Thomas) is there. He wouldn't stop bragging about his method of training and how cheap it is. I politely listened but was uncomfortable with his approach. If I wanted dog training I would have sought it out. The cashier was polite and did her job, she took interest in my pooch and asked if she could pet him. The store was clean and pleasant. When I checked out I thought I had a $14 antler and it was $21 so having things behind the proper label would be nice. It's nice having a pet store closer to my house. It's fairly small but seems to have everything I need. I came here today to find batteries for my dog's spray collar. I had a hard time finding them so I asked for help. The batteries were locked up. The girl that was helping me asked a co-worker near by if she had the keys, she did not. The girl was annoyed and grunted under her breath and left to get the keys. She did not return for a couple minutes while her co-worker, that she talked to in front of me, walked past me without acknowledging me by saying the other girl was on her way or something. A few minutes past and I saw the girl working the register which is fine, but she could have said she had to ring a few people and she'd be back. When she finally came back to that area, she started working o something else. I had to get her attention again. "Excuse me... Did you get the keys?" There were clumps of hair on entry mat as if a dog had been groomed there and they let the fur fall on mat and left it for customers to walk through and drag into store!! I give 2 stars only due to a VERY small handful of employees at this location that are very friendly and helpful. Whereas the other are either rude or just miserable that they have to be there. Multiple times Ive been in this store and have witnessed the GM (Jake?Jacob?) leave the register while there was a huge line and only one other cashier (who seemed very upset they were left by themselves to handle the line and was very apologetic for the wait) to disappear into what I am assuming is the office. Very unprofessional. In all aroundness, the store always smells and is disheveled. Nothing is where it should be and honestly, half of the products seem out of stock. The store is small and on certain days there are giant pallets blocking most of the aisles and if not those stacks of boxes. Grooming I will never use here. Ive heard from multiple members of my family as well as friends about how their dogs have come out looking chopping or in one case absolutely unable to walk and had to be carried out to the car to be taken to the vet. After a couple groomers left apparently the quality dropped drastically as well as safety apparently. I just suggest either going to the Olympia store or a small mom and pop shop instead. read more
