My wife and I ordered a 2-door dog kennel online, and they sent us a 1-door by mistake. We took it into the store to see if we could exchange it for the right one. Unfortunately, the one we got was an online brand only, and they didn't carry it in-store. Instead of turning us away like they very well could have, the managers exchanged the one we got for a better quality one they had there in the store. They were so nice and helpful, and really went out of their way to help us out. read more

I had an appointment today 4/20/20 @ 1:30pm for my dog to get a hair cut. Upon drop off, we were informed that he had to have physical paper for his rabies shots (not a picture of the document). Ok no problem, So we drove home to get it (I live 1.5mi away, about 7min drive one way) When we returned with the document we were told "oh, sorry it's now too late for us to accept drop offs" They refused to honor our appointment and claimed it was too late, however it was 1:48pm! AND they had previously offered me a 2pm appointment on the day I had call to schedule so I am confused why this was an option in the first place. I am confused and upset that this woman would make me drive home like she asked me to, to fetch a paper document (because picture wasn't good enough) just to smirkingly tell me I could no longer have my appointment. I was a first time guest and will never be back. I sincerely hope management looks into this it JUST happened to me - I came home and wrote this Review on that employee. read more

I took my dog for her nail trim as I had fir the last several years. when I cam in to get her, I was told thst because she rolled on the table, policy is not to continue.???? /never been a problem before. took her to Pet Smart after and her nails were trimmer. So, now that is where I will go. read more

Have seen other postts talking about the excellent treatment by the groomers, Tyler is awesome! He remembers our little dogs and how we want them groomed, that's very cool and saves our needing to go over what we like every visit. Our hybred Lasa Apso/Shizu (sp) we schedule when Tyler can groom him but our other little friend, a rescue Terrier mix we're ok with the other groomers taking care of. Have always had a good experience at this PetCo store and highly recommend them. read more

So disappointing to shop this store. Nicole, a manager, does not know how to appropriately interact with customers and displays very poor customer service. I needed to exchange a bag of dog food and Brandon kindly asked her to look up my receipt with my phone number. She claimed she couldn't find it however it was under the number I had given her. She acted like it was too difficult or demanding for her to help a customer. Then Brandon had a question and she wouldn't open the door to help him. This is not someone I would want as part of a team. I can understand why few people shop here. I'll be going to elsewhere. read more

Michael in grooming has improved my dog's life. When I adopted my dog, he was fearful of men. It took him days to feel comfortable around my father and brother, and he couldn't be trusted with male strangers. We are so blessed to have Michael's very genuine reassurance and love--it has made a measurable difference in my dog's behavior. Also, his washes seem to last longer. I have been taking me dogs here for years. I made an appointment for grooming. I received a voicemail the day before asking if I still wanted to keep my appointment or cancel or reschedule. The next day (day of my appointment) they called and said they would not have time to dry my dog enough before closing to let her go home and their policy is that dogs must be completely dry before leaving. They would have had plenty of time to dry her based on past appointments and wanted me to come in the next day, which I couldn't because I had to work. I left a voicemail and a message with an employee to have the manager call me back. I never received any call back. Based on the voicemail they left me the day before my appointment and the way the gal who called me an hour before my appointment I can only assume they wanted to leave early since it was a Friday night. Sad but after being a customer for over 10 years I will never take my dog back there to be groomed. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Do not take your dog here for grooming. I booked an appointment and was told over the phone and at my actual appointment that it would take 1- 1/2 hours for a bath and haircut since the groomer only had my dog for their shift. I dropped off my dog and 3 hours went by and I didn't receive a call. I went into the store as I was concerned and was told that my groomer had to take a break mid shift and that all that was left was a blow dry. So my dog was essentially left in a cage for hours wet? Another 1 1/2 hours went by and still no call. I became very concerned and showed up again asking what was going on. Still not finished. Finally I received a call that my dog was ready. He was still wet all on his chest, face and ears. I am also convinced that the groomer dropped him off of the table because he has been limping ever since his appointment. This was the worst grooming experience I have ever had. Almost 5 1/2 hours to groom an 18 pound dog when it was the only one assigned to the groomer? Come on. read more

Horrible grooming service!!!! I usually go to Petsmart but figured these guys are closer so I will give them a try - THEY SHAVED MY GERMAN SHEPHERD! My long haired German Shepherd has no hair! He looks just awful and winter is around the corner, what on earth were they thinking?!!! He has no hair, none!!! My poor baby, these people have no idea what they are doing. The store itself was your normal Petco. Regular employees were nice and welcoming. However, If I could put zero stars for the "dog trainer" I would. We were walking out of the store and the "trainer" was attempting to get a +100lb un-nuttered male two year old pittbull to sit and stay while he gave a sales pitch to the dog owner. As we walked past the dog he was "training" the dog lunged at my puppy so my puppy barked and hid behind me. The "trainer" then proceeded to tell me that my puppy showed aggressive behavior and that's why the dog he was "training" disobeyed, not because the dog he was training was on a loose lease and almost escaped the owner. I then informed him that my puppy it currently enrolled in an non-Petco obedience school and he informed me that I "might want me to reconsider my training." He then handed me his card and told me he could read my dogs brain. Sorry, but you couldn't even get my dogs gender right so I am not going to believe any of the BS coming out of your mouth. I obviously distributed the dog he was "training" and messed up his sales pitch. We have been going to Petco's very frequently ever since we got our puppy but we are strongly reconsidering it. There was no need to tell me how to train my dog when the dog you were "training" can't even sit still. Sorry dude, but I won't be attending your classes. read more

First time visit to Hawk's Prairie Petco grooming. Very negative experience with the grooming staff, who were rude and unprofessional. Took our 8-month-old standard poodle puppy in and, after waiting 3 weeks for this appointment, were turned away after looking for about 20 seconds, because they said her ears were "matted" (they were not). Shania gave us a list of vets to go to and walked away without saying anything. We were understandably confused and said, "So you can't do ANYTHING today?" and she said no with her back turned. We usually go to the Black Hills Blvd. Petco but had to cancel due to jury duty. Went back there just to ask if her ears were matted and were told they were fine and scheduled us another appointment. Have to wait ANOTHER 3 weeks. Would recommend Corrine at Black Hills Blvd Petco. She is fantastic with our puppy and very professional. Would not recommend Hawk's Prairie Petco grooming. We will never go back there again. read more

Don't buy anything in this store! Pets mart is only 10 minutes away. The idiot in the fish department won't sell fish if he thinks they will ever die. Also he won't listen when you want a certain amount. Bypass the hassle and keep driving. read more

The new policy of Petco shows how less they care about pets and worry more about liabilities. I was turned away because my dog had a permanent ear infection that he was born with. Their new policy stated that they can not provide services for any animals that have any medical illness temporary or permanent. This shows how much they care about pets. Never going to recommend Petco franchise to anyone or even set foot in any Petco location. Another review stated that they don't provide service for old dogs. I don't know if they are aware that pets are members of our family, and refusing to provide service due to medical condition and their age is very cruel . Pet Smart is way better and they don't segregate pets and refuse service due to illness and their age. I hope people's review about this new policy brings new perspective to make a change because this new policy does not sound right and unfair. read more

We love this Petco store!! We visit this store several times a month for supplies, food and grooming services. The Petco Staff are knowledgable, kind and happy every time we come! The grooming staff is a wonderful, talented team and love on our pets when they come for services. We always get a report/note after services letting us know how well our pups were. Petco also offers great rewards and discounts so we are constantly saving on our purchases. Thank you so much to Petco Lacey for being the only people that we trust with our fur kids. read more

I went to get crickets for my bearded dragon and noticed they housed their baby bearded dragons on sand. You should NEVER house baby bearded dragons on sand. They will eat it and become impacted which can lead to death if not treated immediately. I would never buy bearded dragons from Petco. read more

only did one star because it does not let you do none. this place is a joke. first time was awful but manger said sorry lets try again. So we did. brought dog into groomer and the service was horrible! They called and told me to get my dog ASAP. That the salon was too loud for him, and he was too old. He was trying to jump off table and his tongue was turning purple. He said he was not a groomer but that was his personal view. Oh and he said don't bring him BACK ! This guy was young and rude as well as the rude girl that checked us in. I really don't think the manger cares because this is the second time that the workers were rude and unprofessional. Peto does not seem to care about their reputation. And they obviously have their favorite return customers that are more important than the rest of us. I am happy not to ever step foot in that place again! Get it together PETCO and groomer manager. You are failing us hard working paying customers. there are other places to take our animals and its not here. shame on all of you. read more

I've taken my dog to a few other places and he is always scared because other dogs are barking and jumping around. The first time taking him in here he was so calm and polite. He walked around without a care in the world, because the store was very clean and the staff was very polite. They have potty bags out front with a garbage can, which really came in handy for my little dog after holding it in the while time we shopped inside haha read more
