Thank you, Masha!!!! I was traveling by car today back to PA from Cape Cod, MA and was thrilled to find a Petco in Mansfield, MA with very clean restrooms. One of my dogs wears diapers (Bella Beagle) and has a stroller so the fact that the restroom was handicapped accessible made it so much easier for changing her and also for a quick, safe stop for myself. My other dog was able to be with us without incident and I have to say, it makes such a difference when traveling. Bailey is a jrt mix. She really needed a nail trim. I have never had any of my pets' nails done at Petco previously. Our veterinarian is located in PA. I remembered that our vet uses the "Petly" app to keep current immunization records, etc. Masha was so kind. She entered both dogs in the system. It turned out that because Bella is on Gabapentin and is unable to walk without assistance, they were unable to trim her nails; however, Bailey had the best experience!! Most places I have been to won't take walk ins. This was just such an incredibly positive experience. Masha said she's been working for Petco for six months. Not only is she phenomenally skilled with dogs, she has superb customer service skills. Another outstanding employee was Kevin. He was very friendly and spent time petting both dogs as Masha patiently waited for me to get the necessary immunization information of of the "Petly" app our veterinarian uses. He remembered both dogs names and really made me feel welcome and like doing business there was a pleasure. When I first entered the building I did pass several employees who were focused on their work. It was definitely appreciated to have special attention. It really makes a difference. I purchased more than I would have because of the positivity I felt. read more

The groomer cut my dog's paw trying to trim her nails. When I called the manager to let her know, she said the groomer tried to cut her nails, but the dog was biting her so she stopped. So her explanation was no way it was the groomer who had caused the injury because she hadn't been able to cut the nails. I would have understood if she was apologetic, but I don't like not admitting a mistake. I wish they had told me she was biting at pick up, but it was never mentioned. Hopefully the groomer doesn't hurt anymore animals. I had been a good customer until this. I see the review before mine resulted in another hurt animal. Do not bring your pet here. read more

I'm very upset about my dogs grooming. She is 15 and I expressed my concern for her being in the spa too long so they arranged for Service that would be faster than the normal time. My dog has anxiety so with that when I went to pick her up, I was informed that they shaved off her nipple so it was supposed to be a mild appointment for my dog turned to high anxiety when I brought her home. I just feel badly that I put my dog through that. read more

I've been bringing my dogs to this particular location for years. I absolutely love the staff, but my favorite by far over the years has been Amanda!!! She has been so wonderful with my furry friends, I was so sad to hear that she was leaving though... I decided to message her to see where her journey would continue, and I was so sad to hear she was going to another job... but I know they will have such an experienced and talented person on their team!! ***Vetco**** Terrible! Took my puppy there for shots because my local vet could not get him in. He had his 3 5-1 distempered and went in for his last one which my husband had brought him to and they decided to give the 6-1 which I had repeatedly said no to 3 times before! Now he needs ANOTHER shot to finish that series! I called and they said my husband "okay'd" it. I told him he was going for his last distemper which it should have been. They are dishonest and money hungry! Why would we want to start it on the last one?? Nope! Never again! read more

I made an appointment for 1:30pm on 8/14and THEY called me on 8/11 to come at 1:45pm instead. Suddenly they have no recollection of that call and my appointment was already void for being late even though they told me to come at 1:45. Went in to purchase one fish over the weekend and the sales-boy argued with my husband, spoke down to him, and refused to sell him a fish BC our 70 gallon tank already had 4 - one inch fish in it. He said there wasn't enough room, even though the store manager said we had plenty of room. I do believe that is called Separation anxiety. read more

If I could give 0 and leave a review I would - I've called the groomers 3 times this week left voicemail each time and no one has called me back and I paid for the vital care program! $20 a month they charge me supposedly for quicker appointments and easy service! This company has the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. I bought a $1300 conure, a $200 cage and hundreds of dollars worth of food and toys at the Mansfield MA location. 5 months later it died for no reason at all. I went into the store to see what they could to rectify the issue, and they told me it was corporates decision. I called corporate, they told me it was the stores decision. I went back to the store and was told it's corporates decision. I got bounced back and forth for a week. Long story short, I was lied to by multiple employees over the phone, was called a liar by employees on the phone and in store, and was told "Unfortunately it's not our problem anymore" several times by employees over the phone and the manager in the store. I have spent ALOT of money at this store, but UNFORTUNATELY will not be spending another dollar there. If you are planning on buying an animal at Petco, I would look elsewhere. read more

Nancy is great!!! She always helps us in aquatics. She is friendly and knowledgeable. Great improvements have been made in aquatics section. Friendly staff. Great sales and healthy looking fish in Mansfield store. Plymouth has a wonderful person in aquatics named frank. He has been a great source of information. Wareham has Patty, Glen and Casey who are all wonderful. They are great will all animals. I like that they always let you know before you buy about adoption animals. I adopted the best hamster and tinfoil barb. read more

This store is ALWAYS covered in dried dog urine, it's gross. The staff is not knowledgeable, beyond pet basics. The dogs here are almost always out of control (when I see the trainers working I am always concerned by the misinformation I hear them giving people)- what exactly are the qualifications for their "dog trainers"? Some high quality products alongside some really poor ones. There's one guy that works there who is always shouting at customers and their dogs- it's really bad dog etiquette. As a writer of reviews on other platforms, I try to give the benefit of the doubt to many places when I go to them. Lately, however, I am thinking twice about visiting this Petco, and here's why. I am a guppy owner, I started my supply with two from this Petco. When I went in to visit about a month later, the "Fish Guy" Bob, or whatever his name is, told me that all my guppies would die because the rest of them did from that batch. He was wrong. They went on to produce many fry, who also produced their own babies. They have been thriving well, and I have been able to sell them to happy people in the area. Recently, though, I decided to buy a fish to help clean my algae in my tanks. I started with two Otto Cats, who died in a week. I brought them back, and the fish guy told me that they're fragile and tough in certain types of water. Okay. I traded them in for a pleco and two skunk loaches. The pleco is still working his wonders on my ten gallon tank, but that's where the happiness ends. The loaches were okay, they were living in my tank with some of my male guppies. They would hide when they saw me coming, which I thought was cute. I recently moved, and re setup my tank the same way I always had, with no environmental changes. This time, because I wasnt close to my tank 24/7, the loaches had time to eat my guppies tails. The guppies looked like their tails had gone through a shredder; I had assumed it was me moving, but I added a couple more males, and the loaches have now killed two of my guppies. I ended up flushing them out of anger, but I am tired of going to this Petco and having this fish guy tell me things to do, and they end up harming my tank. I understand he means well, but I am now 100% turned off with visiting Petco in general. read more

PETCO SCAM!!!! BEWARE!!!!! This is my letter I just sent to Channel 4 Call for Action: Please please please learn from my mistake and do NOT purchase E-gift cards, especially from Petco! Please SHARE THIS STORY and warn your friends, especially during this holiday season. Good morning! On November 16th I purchased an e-gift card on Petco.com for $100. I provided my email address, my recipients email address and of course my credit card information. I immediately received an email thanking me for my order. Quickly after I received an email that the purchase had gone through and that Michelle (my recipient) had received her electronic gift card. I texted Michelle to look at her email and she quickly texted back thanking me profusely. I then received an email stating that Michelle had successfully opened her e gift card. Michelle went home and printed out her electronic gift card as per instructions. She went to our local Petco a week later only to be told that there was a zero balance on that gift card and that it was used in California. I immediately called Petco and basically was told "sorry, it was like cash and we are not responsible if it is lost or stolen." After further phone calls, it was determined that Petco uses a 3rd party company called "Cashstar" out of Houston Texas for their electronic gift cards. I also spoke with someone at this compony who also stated there was nothing they could do. I truly believe someone from this company stole the gift card since the employee who processed the gift card had access to ALL the pertinent information. They also refused a refund. I have been on the phone with Petco at least 6 times trying to get someone to explain to me how it is my fault or Michelle's fault since we did NOTHING wrong and I also said their customer service was a joke. The last woman I spoke to, "Patricia" actually said and I quote, "we cannot guarantee the delivery of egift cards and our policy is that they are treated like cash, so if you lose them or they are stolen it is not our responsibility." My problem is that Petco makes $100 every 3 seconds and that they would not refund my money OR provide a new gift card is inexcusable since WE NEITHER LOST THE CARD OR HAD IT STOLEN! It was stolen from the company Petco employs. They also said they could not provide the exact location of where the card was used, the name of the person who used it or the address the purchased items were sent to. In this day and age I find that a joke. I think you should do a story on electronic gift cards and basically not to ever purchase one!! I will NEVER purchase anything at Petco again!!! After getting the runaround from a brockton doggie "walmart", I went to this Petco and they accepted my current and valid vaccine records and the service was outstanding. They did absolutely a five star job in all aspects. I will come back here every time before I ever go to the wannabes. read more

Used to be sad walking in to uneducated people who just got a job there cause they were hiring. No signs or anything to help teach potential buyers before purchasing a pet. Went in today for a new tank and betta fish, met the nicest guy who was so well trained and experienced that he helped me in every way possible to get exactly what I needed. A lot of the tanks now have chalk on it talking about what size they get up to and if this fish can live with this other fish. Also after years of asking they finally put dividers on the betta fish shelf so they weren't getting stress sick. Only problem today was that I noticed a lot of the Betta were getting sick with fins decaying and tails splitting, even a couple dead ones. But the bumble bee betta I got today looks great and is doing well in its new home. Very impressed with how they've changed and became a good reliable pet store. Also the store is 100x cleaner than any other Petco or pet smart I've ever been to, that's why I keep coming here presentation is everything in businesses. read more
