Dog food emergency for the kid. I stopped in to grab hom a bag, as he was stuck at work & I really could use picking up a bag of litter. There were adaptable cats on site but I kept the wife focused. The prices for food, treats and litter are on par & I prefer shopping here vs online or at some of the other stores. The service is good, so is the selection & i like that they work with the shelters. read more

Petco has become our go-to for about half of our cat supplies. The joys of having a picky cat means prices are irrelevant. If she'll eat it, we're buying it. They stock a good variety of supplies, food, litter &, if you're so inclined, attire. The biggest win for me tho is working with the local rescues for drives and adoptions. read more

I have a very fussy dog so Petco is my go-to to get his dietarily necessary food and any other trinkets he needs to be the good boi that he is. The staff is always helpful and attentive. FYI, the in-house groomers can't groom dogs with a lot of behavioral issues and the wait list to get into the groomer is long, which is not too surprising. Also the local no-kill shelter hosts some of the pets available in the city in case you're in the market for a new rodent control technician or a yard dog. I mostly wrote this review as a shout out to the cashiers and clerks there, who have been a beacon of support and kindness during the past couple of strange, alienating years of the Pandemic. read more

Petco is a decent place. Although employees are not to knowledgeable about there animals. Of course i dont work there so I can't tell you how I personally feel without assumption. And of course everyone is human but I personally feel they could run the store better. of course it's not my store so I can't have things how I want it but thats okay. They do offer a variety of products just like every other pets store located here but to me the animals look sad. Do they get played with? Do they get time to be loved and appreciated? Do the employees know anything about the fish they are getting? Once one fish is sick all of there fish is sick due to the same water line being used for all of there tanks of course that's not the employees fault but it's part of management and whoever built it. Came down for the dollar per gallon sale and was helped out by the most polite, hilarious staff. They helped me to pick out what I needed, even going as far as to help me secure a great deal through their sister website, Foster and Smith. I scheduled a grooming appointment for my dog about a month prior to the scheduled date. They called 2 hours before the appointment to cancel it. They told me that I can either bring my dog in the following morning or I would have to wait another month for an opening. I can understand that they are short staffed and or overbooked so they didn't have time for my dogs appointment. However not once did they apologize for the inconvenience it created. I was waiting a month for the appointment and for them to call 2 hours prior created an inconvenience as I had to change my schedule in order to be able to bring my dog in. On top of that the customer service over the phone and in person was terrible. She was rude and had poor customer service skills. read more

I brought my Bishon in and he had a beautiful long coat of hair. i had been brushing him daily to make sure there were no Matt's in his coat. well it's a 2 hour drive to go get him groomed and I was checking my baby's coat. well, I had been so worried about everything else and I missed some snarls on his ears. I worked on them before we dropped him off and they weren't to bad. So we dropped him off and the girl said ," Well there are a couple of matts (snarls)on his ears , and I said yeah, i was working on them. But the rest if his hair was fine. She had shown me a swatch of different hair lengths and I said go with the one he had before. she suggested a shorter length and I said no. About 2 1/2 hours later, I spoke to the girl that was grooming my dog. She just wanted to let me know that because if a few snarls on his ears that his ears are going yo be cut shorter than the rest of his hair. I said no problem, I understand. she also made a point that they close at 6. Which is a complete lie, because they close at 7. So why she felt the need to lie to me was completely beyond me. when I went to pick my dog up, i could hear him barking because he could see me. All the workers just stared at us, as nothing was going on. we waited for one of them to come and talk to us, but they all acted like we were not even there. While my baby was crying in the next room. My baby is my dog!!! I had to walk away and outside before I said something inappropriately. I found my composure and walked back in. My dog, still screaming, I said "may I please have my dog?" She asked me if I wanted him now or when she was done doing whatever. Mind you, he is barking up a storm. I said now. She went to get him and brought him out, and tears just came to my eyes. My baby was terrified, taunted, and basically butchered. They completely shaved all (down to his skin) of his hair. they left a little on his head and face, but it is unbelievable. He knows too. Right away, I found 3 cuts, and later I found more. I won't reveel that #, because I would like to know how many times that she remembers. I am so angry with this. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I want to add pics but I cant. I'm not letting this go. read more

I was disappointed that, after looking online at their website, I got to the store and found that not only did they have less than a quarter of the products the site claimed could be bought in the store here, the prices were nowhere near the price listed online. They were double the price on a lot of things. They also need to be better staffed. The store was packed and there was one person at the register, and I finally found one person on the sales floor. Both were very friendly and I felt like this wasn't the norm for them, I think they may have just been short that day. If I could rate them zero stars I would. Took my 7 month old bichon/toy poodle in for a hair cut & asked them not to shave him. Took 3 hours for his hair cut & $70 later. When I picked him up his hair was almost completely shaved off & he had a big bald spot on his back. It's been about 2 months since then & the bald spot has turned black & hair won't grow back on it. He was terrified to go back into the store & he's never had a problem with a groomer before. I don't know what they did to my puppy, but I will never take him back here again.
