Honestly at this point it breaks my heart to ever have to see Petco in a bad light! I've always shopped her for my dog. However. Last week I took my dog to the clinic for a rabies vaccination. I checked in and talked to the girl about my dog. Told her how she has no health issues that I'm aware of and was healthy. After the visit they brought her back to me and told me to have a great day. Nothing more. When I got home and reviewed the paper work, the vet had written that my dog has a "grade 3 heart murmur" Yet no one told me anything. I took my dog to another vet today for a second opinion and she confirmed she has a bad heart murmur and couldn't believe no one told me at the clinic. Had I not seen that note, the issue could have gone untreated for a long time. read more

Hmmm...This place is okay. I go here for Fiona. I ask her if she wants to go to the store snd she cries and jumps up and down, and we go. Once or twice she embarassed me by peeing in the store. Of course I cleaned it. I sometimes buy her Natural Balance here, but that stuff is expensive. Honestly, my childhood dog was raised on Pedigree and she lived ti be 17, in 1999. Our other dog Princess lived to be 18 on Pedigree. She died in 2012. When I used to teach in Orange I would bring my class on a walking trip here. They had fun. I bought my hermit crabs here, years ago and they are still alive. All 4 of them. For doggy fun, its an okay place. The bulk bones are great and Fiona loves them. I also bought my feline friends, a two pack of, Christmas mice with catnip; for Christmas gifts, to put into their stockings. The store was nice and clean, and it was a very busy day for them. These people are the pits. Drove up here with a new puppy for a vet appt at 6.55. Arrived at 6.56 due to traffic. This was after being on hold 25 minutes all the way up here trying to tell them we might be late due to traffic but no one picked up. Vet had left! Vet techs didn't give a crap. Thought the whole thing was funny. Don't recommend you bring your pet here. They clearly don't give a crap. Found out after we got here that the appointment would only have been 5 mins anyway. How can you assess a dog in 5 mins?! I guess because the plan was actually to use that 5 mins to try and upsell all the services. We'll be taking her elsewhere and feel like we dodged a bullet. Went to Petco for grooming for my dogs as usual. One of my younger pups just recently started having seizures. Unfortunately she is young, vibrant and full of life. She has not had a seizure since being on the meds. Because she is on seizure medication Petco grooming refused to groom my dog anymore. This is angering because they were cold about the policy and no policy was ever posted on the groom site. They should not discriminate against dogs that have health conditions. Will have to go somewhere who loves all dogs and not who discriminated against dogs with conditions the dog should not be singled out. It is not my dogs fault she has to take meds. When they got back to me to rebook they said they would apply a discount and then called back a few hours later letting me know that they were refusing me service. This place is not the place to go! I purchased a salt water fish, I live 30 minutes from here, this is the closest place that sells salt water around my area. As we left, we noticed the fish stressed a couple minutes later it died. We called to get some sort of assistance and we were told that a refund could be done, we spoke to 5 different associates and they all told us the exact same thing. Only to find out when we got there, that nothing would be done, after getting multiple refund confirmations. We contacted corporate and they were no better. We had to call for updates and they were "not in office". We've been fighting to contact them since, so much for a caring animal company. read more

Had me at Hello. We used to go here all the time with no real frills and nothing to write about until a PetSmart opened nearby us 3 years ago. We went back today to get fish supplies because they have a larger selection. While shopping for dog food, a manager walk by and said hello. He proceeded to help me pick out some dog food. Another manager help me carry it to the register and then gave me a coupon. All was nice and unexpected, but they have already earn back my business simply by acknowledging their customers. I have never been more impressed by a Petco ever. I live no where near this one, but it's one I'll definitely be returning to it. As a hobby aquarist I usually stop by to 'save' fish from their horrid conditions- but I was in complete awe today. The care and small details put into each tank, as well as a Salt water section (something I never thought I'd see at a Petco) had me floored. You have someone very passionate about fish on your team and I was happy I was able to personally praise Benito for his work. So I had horrible experience with Marciella who works in the grooming department. First, I'd like to mention she unethically added to my bill after I specifically told her I didn't want the product she added. I even asked her why I'm being charged and she gave me a fabricated answer. What's even more disappointing about this is that she did a horrible job grooming my pup. I've ONLY groomed my dog with Petco and have been charged $42 for the premium since he's bigger every time. This time, Marciella charged me an extra $15 to brush my hair yet he came back with tons of shedding hair. I usually brush him at home and KNOW this isn't generally what happens after brushing. HOWEVER, I would like to say my past experiences have been nice and I do appreciate the associate who helped me when explaining my difficulties and situation. The employees know NOTHING about the products they sell. This place carries mostly the crappiest of products on the market. Purina? I'ams? Really? Places still carry this crap? Why don't you carry something that is good for our pets like Stella or Answers Raw? How about The Honest Kitchen or Open Farm? Zignature? These are all 5 star pet foods that give our pets a chance at living a long and healthy life. Also, why are you still selling animals? Get with the times. There is an overpopulation of pets and millions are being euthanized every year in the shelter. You do a small amount of cat rehoming but you survive on small donations from customers. After walking in dog poo and pee on one occasion and spending a ton of cash, I vowed not to return. The night I got my new puppy, I stopped by here with her. The store was clean this time and well stocked. It was packed and only two people were working. I was looking for several things including that water spigot thingy that you put on the water outlet in your yard so your doggie can get fresh water anytime he/she wants. The one girl on the floor was trying so hard, but too many people had questions. I found my stuff, with my doggie, but it took forever. This place is expensive. Target is a good alternative but is limited and you cannot bring your pet in Target. The girl at the register was nice. She told me one person called in sick. Crap, one person? This is the closest pet store to home so I find myself here often getting supplies for my pups or guinea pig. However, I'm never too happy with the place. Especially with the grooming department. The store itself isn't as clean or organized as others. Seems like they are short staffed at the registers and the selection of items for small pets isn't too wide. I used to bring my Fluffy here for grooming a lil over a year ago. There was a lady that groomed her which I liked. She tried to leave her the way I asked and most of time was on point. She had an emergency come up and had to leave for sometime so I had to trust another groomer. Scheduling appointments wasn't easy because they were short staffed. I wasn't happy with the way she was being groomed anymore. My Fluffy had some beautiful long lashes which I loved and I come to see that the new groomer cut them off. I left this place and found another spot. I just returned to Petco to get my Fluff groomed because my other location changed ownership and they longer have groomers. My pup was pretty matted and desperately needed a cut so I came back to give it a try. It was a new groomer I did not know and I wasn't happy. My pup was matted but this wouldn't be a first. I knew that they were going to have to shave her pretty low but in the past her face is usually left with more hair around the snout and eyes. This groomer, can't remember the name, just shaved her everywhere not leaving any hair around her face. Maybe I didn't specify to a T what I expected but normally I don't have too. Plus her lashes were cut again too. It's too inconsistent so I do not see myself coming back even after some time has passed. read more

The cat and I have dramatically switched things up since we both moved - new litter box, new food, and an aggressive daily workout to help us both lose weight however, she still eats a lot and the weight loss is progressing but not as fast as we'd like it. The vet recommended I put her on slim cat. On my way home, I decided to pull into this Petco to see if they had the slim cat. Sadly, their dog section is way bigger than their cat section. I'm not one to really review anything but I just had to share. I've been shopping in Petco for so long now. I was always told by my best friend to try Just Food For Dogs. I finally gave in and decided to learn more. Let me tell you, I learned so much thanks to the associate there named MJ. She gave me so much information and set me up with everything I needed. She was very thorough and full of knowledge. After getting to know more about Coffee we decided it be best to started with the beef and russet potato diet, and let me tell you Coffee has never been more excited to eat his food. She even gave me a sample baggie of chicken treats. MJ was so amazing and I look forward to all future visits with her. I've taken our pup here once before to get a bath/nail buffing and we had a very positive experience. The person at the front desk was friendly and really informative. So our first thought was of course we will be back, which was unfortunately our mistake. We dropped off our pup on 7/03 at 1PM. Upon getting home we realized her nails were cut very short, but didn't think much of it. The very next day we noticed in the afternoon that each of her paws had a red tint to them. We immediately hosed them off and inspected. We realized that each and every single one of her nails were bleeding, even her dewclaws. So we rinsed them, dried them off and applied an antibiotic ointment to prevent any further bleeding and infection. We prevented her from further moving around too much, which is hard for a 9 month old pup. Her nails continued to bleed off and on until about midnight. Which we then repeated the wash/rinse, dry and apply ointment cycle. The next couple of days we plan to keep her on minimal exercise as we do not want to risk further bleeding or infection. We are extremely dissatisfied with the service we received. We paid an additional $10 for nail buffing, not cutting, and our poor pup looks like she had all her nails cut down to the numb. We would have been 100 percent understanding if it was one or two nails the accidentally buffed short, but that was far from the case. We reached out the the Petco customer service line to report the incident, unfortunately we have not heard back. read more

It's a Petco... I've been to quite a few Petco's and this location is far from the worst. It's large, well stocked, and fairly clean. The premium dog food section was recently refurbished to new trend of the faux wood flooring. My only gripe of the staffing. Overall, the staff is friendly, but they ALWAYS seem to be understaffed. The lines are usually very long and it's a rare thing to see more than one employee at the check out. Management needs to add hours/shifts- it's starting to become a real pain in the ass waiting in line 5 people deep for 15 minutes carrying dog food. read more

This was my first time taking my 5 month old puppy to a groomer and as a first time fur mom I'm kind of obnoxiously overprotective about my dogchild but the girls at the front were really reassuring. That was a huge relief for me. I saw some reviews about them trying to sell things you don't need, but I ended up getting their recommendations and couldn't be happier! I'm actually earning more than I spend so I truly suggest giving them a chance when they explain these things to y'all bc they're only trying to get you a deal. This is my favorite Petco, it's always stocked up with everything, the workers actually greet you and ask if you need help. Definitely glad that this Petco has such great workers bc the store would be trash without the customer service this staff provides. read more

Since I adopted my puppy a month ago I've turned into a regular at this location. Every time I come here I'm impressed by their fully-stocked shelves and friendly cashiers. The store is always very clean as well. I'm especially impressed by the level of knowledge and care the store's trainer Debbie puts into her work. Even before my puppy's training course started I've received a couple calls from her going over the "need-to-knows" and safety tips. I highly recommend this store for all of your pets needs from the training and grooming to all of the supplies you'll ever need. On a side note for all Petco locations regardless of which specific store you go to, THEIR PALS REWARDS PROGRAM IS AWESOME!! It is so easy to earn $5 rewards and there are always heavy discounts on treats and toys!! read more

Its an average Petco located in the same plaza with a Michaels. Its literally next to a freeway onramp so traffic getting into the plaza, or driving out can be a pain. They had the cat litter I needed, but overall not the biggest Petco I've been to. 3 stars for an A OK experience. read more

We were about to buy 15 and he gave us the tip to not to overdo it all at once. That it would cause the filter to get overloaded and not work properly. Just came in to get cat food. The one I needed was out of stock on the shelf. There are two pallets of an incoming order also on the floor. When I asked about when it would be stocked I was told 2 days! There were maybe a total of 4 customers and about 4 employees. I asked why two days to get the order out, I was told they are busy. Two of the girls were standing in front of me talking. . Great customer service. I could have unloaded their pallet and stocked it in about an hour. I've been in retail. She told be they had to fill online orders. So those are more important than the customer in the actual store....? read more
