Upon arrival, there were no customers or staff to be seen. Once walking to some areas of store to check for items we want to purchase, 3 employed are stationed in different area of store and putting away product. There was only ate contact and moving on. Zero greet. Zero smile. Waited to ask fir help and staff put their heads down and proceed to work on their task. This is a store we frequent every other month. This is unexpected behavior and disappointing. We were prepared to purchase some training devices, stood at the locked container to wait for assistance. Just went to the Pasco Petco. A ton of people not wearing masks. The whole grooming area/salon of the employees, non of them was wearing masks but one. I asked why they weren't, they wouldn't even look me in the eye. There was 6 employees. Also wasn't posted on their door to wear masks. Left without buying and won't be back. read more

Brought my schnauzer in to get a grooming and have specific instructions on the type of cut I wanted which was just a basic schnauzer cut and his coat being brought down due to summer. After paying so that I could just pick him up I approached the counter and the groomer was laughing and said she had shaved off my dogs eyebrows which I didn't think was funny. After continuing to laugh about it she asked if that was ok as if she had the power to miraculously reattach them. Schnauzers are known for two things their beard and eye brows and after giving specific instructions to not cut them.... this happens. No refund or anything for this mistake on their part. Will definitely not be returning to this location or Petco for dog grooming. read more

I'm not one to jump to bad reviews, but beings I depend on reviews, I must leave one. We have been getting our 2 Shih- tzus groomed here for months and have yet to get a good cut. But, I felt we could bring them around to what we liked in a groom, why do I have to teach them a Shih-tzu cut? Last time she cut their ears so short they both looked like they had short bat wings for ears & cut their tails so short. Besides looking goofy, I had to cut all the long tufts of hair they left on their bodies, legs, chest, Everywhere. Well today was the last straw! We received a call from the groomer that did all of this awful work that she was working at another groomers and did we want to come there for the grooming, hell no! We went to our appointment set up 6wks before and were told the groomer had left. Well ok, but we have an appointment. They canceled the appointment because she was no longer there, we didn't specify who we wanted when we made the appointment! No, sorry you don't have an appt today. They didn't even call to cancel it. Never again, I now understand all of the bad reviews! Now we have to find another groomer while they need it now, especially in this heat. We moved here a couple months ago and decided to get our English Bulldog a regular grooming service at Petco in Pasco. 1. The worst customer service. Not smiling at all which was understandable for me if she was tired from a long day working BUT She got my name, both first and last name, on the paper incorrect so I asked if I could correct them. She said "No, that's fine" PULLED the pen from my hand, crossed out my name on the paper with multiple draws. Grabbed the paper, shouted out that she will be done in an hour then gone behind the door. 2. LIAR! I brought our dog there for them to drain his anal gland but they didnot do that and told us that our dog tried to bite them when they touched his butt. Such a liar! Our dog never ever bit anybody or other dogs that bit him. Everytime we took him to the vet, they took his temp, he never gave a flinch. The vet checked and cleaned his wrinkle skin under his super short tail, He didnot mind. So that was a lie coming from Petco grooming staff, avoiding to do the anal gland which we paid them to do it. I had a fish that I bought there died on the way to my house due to their poor quality water in the store. I took the dead fish back for a refund and the manager of the store said that i would have to bring a water sample from my aquarium to be tested in order to get my refund. After explaining many times to this woman that the dead fish never touched my aquarium water. After many tries she finally gave my refund but said I could not buy any fish till I bring in a water sample which is ridiculous I will never buy fish there again. I wish I could've given them a zero stars because that's the way I feel. read more

Would give this store a 0 if I could. Every time I come here no one is available to help in the fish department. They don't have a bell, you have to go up front to ask for help. Then when they are paged you see several employees appear in the store but still no one to the fish department. 20 plus minutes of waiting, no thank you we will not be returning to your company. Stopped in for dog treats and a new tag for our dog and the staff went above and beyond to assist. Cayden is a finicky treat eater and they made a tiny sample bag so we can figure out what bulk treats he likes. This is the kind of service that will get me back again and again!!! The manager at the Pasco Petco told us we could not by a fish without a filter. They had the authority to not sell us the fish . Roxanne was the manager. We left upset and my nephew was crying. He had just got an award from school and that was our gift to him. We were only going to buy 2 fish that cost less than a dollar. We had never had this experience before in buying fish. read more

I took my year old wolfhound puppy to this store. He was nervous and peed in the store. They pointed to the clean up station and watched at I struggled to clean up the puppies accident with my large puppy and purse in hand. The paper towel were non absorbent. It took at least 30 feet of the paper towels to get the pee soaked up. Then I struggled to get the pee soaked paper towel in this tiny round tube of a trash can. My miniature poodle was clipped by a new groomer. She clipper burned both sides of his face and by a hairs width missed both of his eyes. Within 12 hours his face was bleeding and a mess. No animal deserves this kind of butchery! read more

This store, and the customer service line( there's a misnomer) are rude, abusive to the animals and the groomers, have been found to be less than helpful. Until or unless Petco changes it's over all policy as to how to NOT allow animals to die, while under their direct care and changes the way they do grooming over all, you would be better served to locate a groomer, within a vets office there by assuring yourself that you and your fur baby will both, go home together. The customer service line, while they record your phone call to them they object long and loud to you, doing the same thing to cover your rear end. Be wise here people and stop patronizing this chain store which has no ethics at all when it comes to regarding your animal or you . If you'll stop buying things from this chain store and utilize other services in your own local area we can as a collective cause this business to change the way they do business. By the way corporate office in San Diego, your customer service number and the people who man the phones? Needs a serious re-vamping of inter-personal communication skills. Petco was the last stop I made when bringing home my 9 week old German Shepherd/Mastiff. I had no idea what supplies I would need to care for my dog. They had a list of supplies and walked with me through the store to council me as far as what might be best for his breed/size and/or my preference. He and I were so tired after our trip back from Idaho that I put him in a shopping cart. His feet were just small enough that the square holes in the bottom of the cart we're hard on him. The store clerk suggested he was going to need a bed anyway; so we put a bed in the cart which he loved and still has now hat he is almost 7 months old. We meet with Andrew every Saturday for puppy training classes, Petco carries all of the supplies that I need for grooming, feeding, and clean-up, and best of all, Petco offers free Puppy Playtime on the weekends to puppies 6 months and younger. Yhe free playtime helped socialize my Samson to other dogs. I have had to clean up his messes in the store. If I asked for assistance they were always kind and willing to help. My pup love's to go to this store, and he loves the staff whom all know his name. read more
