This store should not be open. No employees walking around. Everything is disorganized. This store shouldn't even be selling live animals leave it to the local animal pet stores that sell them. The reptiles look so lethargic and there enclosures are covered in shit. The crickets and other insects they sell are all dead and gnats floating everywhere. It's really sad. I purchased very expensive dog food from this place, after 1 day my dog has alarming diarrhea and has thrown up multiple times. We have called to complain and no answer. I don't want a refund I want them to pay my vet bills! This place is a laughable joke. Second time this has happened. First time ever being at a Petco. Have always gone to Petsmart and wanted to change it up. The store was in chaos. The shelves down almost each aisle we almost bare. It was unorganized and DIRTY. There was dog poop on the floor (someone just put one of those yellow cleaning signs next to the big pile but it had dried so been there a while). A few employees just chatting not picking up poop or stocking shelves ‍. There were pallets everywhere which I assume could have helped restock the shelves If people were doing their job. Went there for 3rd visit. 2nd visit groomer never showed up to open store and sub did not either. Since last visit had more shots done aka rabies. Brought dog and was on time. I got to hear how store mgmtvand corperate could "not get it together" web site had posted " wrong times" of when store opened. Also that web site had scheduled her an appt for a "standard poodle" that she could not possibly be able to do. Then was told my paperwork and licensing papers were not valid due license paperwork did not have description of breed and name of dog on it. "I could have brought on any dog License.". I took my dog and left when this was said by mgr. She is NOT WORTH THE HARRASSMENT! After hearing her complain since I arrived there, do not want her TOUCHING MY DOG. Purchased some online items $100 worth and were still in package and never used. I tried to return them with a receipt and it was over 30 days. Manager stated she couldn't accept return. She wouldn't even offer a gift card. We won't be shopping at ANY Petco. Cancelled all automatic monthly subscriptions for delivery. Shopping elsewhere. There was a adoption clinic happening so we donated to them. They were thrilled. Disappointed that they couldn't at least offer a gift card. They still would have kept their money within the company. But now they have lost my patronage and spending on average $300 a month on pet supplies. read more

What my hope is, and other's who've had horrid experiences with Saving Orphan Souls, is that Ro Perez will lose her contract with Petco. This is our objective, she's not fair minded, and hates cats. She told me she likes Schnauzer's and she's not a cat person. Then why is she running the cat adoptions there? Let's put another rescue in Petco, and bring the one rating, up to a 4 rating. She's ridiculous, telling me to scrape the kittens ear. I asked her with what? Ro Perez, told me to use a knife on the 2ib kitten's ear. I found a home myself. She already had 2 kittens, I trapped & fixed at Altered Tails. I provided her spay certificates, and vaccinated them. She turned around, and said they were feral. I bathed those kittens, had them purring. They had no ringworm or any heath issues. They were perfectly healthy kittens. She's not knowledgeable about Feral's or colonies. She shouldn't be in cat rescue to begin with. I've heard it from other TNR volunteers, and even other rescues. I reported her to PACC911, get her out of there. It's a disservice to the cat rescue community. She doesn't work with other rescues, she doesn't know what she's doing. read more

We've been going to her for a while and when she moved here I am even more satisfied than before! She does an amazing job with my corgi, Lilo, and truly cares about my dog and her work. I've had the pleasure & great experience with a lovely groomer here at Petco grooming salon her name is Angel Davidson. My sons little dog Eevee is a handful(poodle shitzu)&Angel is so good with her. Shes able to groom her &avoid all of eevee's attempts to nip at her&leave the salon lol. Angel is a loving &incredible young lady that clearly loves animals n people. The entire experience was sketchy. We found the Saving Orphan Souls rescue online and learned that they are showing their kittens at Petco. The rescue fee was 200 dollars, and it had to be in cash? We went anyway and most of the kittens were too lethargic to play or be interested in meeting people. There was one....Fred..... but like the others, he was sick. His nose snotty, one eye kinda not perfect, and the tail they wouldn't show us until the money had changed hands????? Saving Orphan Souls I believed to be the culprit all alone, but I now know that Petco knew about these kittens condition but continued to adopt them out. 2 weeks now, I have spent over 6 hundred dollars on vet bills, kitten meds, and a visit to the vet for my older cat who is now also infected. DO NOT ADOPT THERE!!!!! I have spent several hours on the phone and it was like being blamed as if this was all my fault. Petco continues to do business with this Fake rescue, Saving Orphan Souls, spreading ring worm to animals and people, yes people, all over Phoenix.... something has to be done. read more

Workers are rude as heck! Hunted me down in the store to scream and barrate me about parking in a spot that had no signage that I couldn't park there? They claimed there was a cone in the spot but the cone was 20 feet down the side walk in front of another store. Accused me of getting out of my car to put the cone on the side walk? Why would I have done that when there were other empty spots even closer to the store? The workers then trapped me by parking behind my car with their van while yelling at me for something that was not my fault and not even an issue. They entrapped me, harassed me and made false claims. Very rude. Customer is always right. Will be taking this up with corporate. read more

Oh my god such rude employees. I've bought beats there before with no issue, I went to go buy glow fish and the lady told me she wouldn't let me because of the type of tank I had. She was helpful, yes, but her bitchy tune could've been fixed. Finally got some more betas, go to the counter and someone comes out of nowhere yelling at me and my friend saying that we can't buy them because we're not 18, mind you i turn 18 in 3 days. He told us to put "our shit back" and get out of the store. We weren't doing anything wrong, trust me i work in retail and if someone goes to check out that has been messing around in the store I would've treated them this way but me and my friend were just in the fish section trying to get myself another fish and we were asked to leave. I recently went to go buy a under tank heater for my ball python as hers had unexpectedly gone out and we needed one asap. $40 for the UTH seemed kind of expensive when I was in the store, so I decided to check online just in case. Even on their own website, Petco was selling the exact same product for $18-19. When I brought it up the register they said they could price match, but only up to a 50% discount (so $20). That means they wouldn't even match their own website all the way. I would caution anyone buying products here that if you can spare one or two days for shipping, just get it online or from Amazon.com. Even if you can't wait, make sure to price match! I can't imagine the number of people who have been scammed by buying full price items in store. read more

I paid for same day delivery service that Petco provides with DoorDash. I was notified that my order was delivered Friday (7/9) afternoon at 3:19 PM. We were out and got home around 5:30 PM. Our order was not there, even though it was confirmed delivered by DoorDash. I called the Tatum and Bell store where I ordered from about a half hour before closing time. The girl at customer service told me she didn't "know what to do because this has never actually happened before". She put me on hold and talked to her manager. They told me I had to contact DoorDash. I found this odd because yes, while DoorDash was the delivery company, Petco was the one supplying the product. I called DoorDash and they informed me there was nothing they could do since the payment was issued through Petco. Called Petco back and we were told there was nothing they could do and that it is Door Dash's fault essentially. This could have been as simple as providing us with a new product at no cost or a refund, but no. No one at this Petco location was willing or cared to help us. Horrible customer service! I just want my money back or the product I paid for because as of now I paid for same day delivery, the product itself, and tipped a DoorDash driver for a product I never actually received. read more

The employees are nice but any petco and pet smart is horrible you should try your hardest not to support them because of the way they take care of their animals is disgusting I've only ever had bad experiences going in and looking at the animals and their conditions the only reason I have ever gone in is because I needed hay in the moment for my Guinea pigs every time I go in I feel sick to my stomach looking at the animals you can also research why you shouldn't buy animals or products from their company there is many reasons why. Today I went In and I immediately noticed one of the mice was sick/dying I told the employees and they did seem concerned with it's health and said it's most likely respiratory which says a lot already about their animal care.. I also saw 2 grown Guinea pigs in the smallest enclosure it was beyond depressing I could go on for so long about all their animals conditions so please shop safely and try supporting small businesses it's also usually cheaper. Unlike other locations they always have them available which makes it easier for me not have to go to a couple store just for crickets anymore. I'm surprised this store is even open to be honest. I have been to Petco, petsmart, many other pet stores in my life and never seen a place (repeatedly) so disgusting! It all starts when you walk in- smells AWFUL, every single item (especially the boxes of crates, playpens) are covered in dust, hair, and rust) and have been used. I bought a crate, took it home to open the box to find a massive amount of hair in the box and all over the crate, I then go to exchange it and the same thing with the other box. This store does not have new items! GROSS! Along with that, there are crickets, massive dust balls, flies all over the store. I wouldn't bring my pet in there & definitely will not be back. Very disappointed on how downhill this store has become. The products they carry are nothing special. They have a terrible selection of grooming and spa products, they don't have a good selection of treats, and every clothing item I've purchased from them (besides a headband with a crown) has fallen apart. My worst experience was the last time I went in. I purchased a $20 foot long bully stick and right as I was about to give it to my dog I noticed very faint movement in a fat area on the bully stick. I noticed there was a tiny hole in the fat area so I got a toothpick and pulled the fat area apart and it had a centimeter long worm inside!! AND IT HAD A SMALL EGG PATCH/ LARVA ON IT!!! The warm was moving and alive which is just disgusting. I don't trust this location anymore and I'm so glad I noticed that movement otherwise my dog would've ate that worm. read more

I had an absolutely horrid experience with Corporate Customer Service after vaccinating my dog with the 5-in-one, rabies, Bortadella, and a de-wormer, which was a great deal at $79, and the staff at the store/clinic were great. Because Vetco no longer has clinics near me in East Scottsdale on weekends, I had to drive to this Bell Road location. Sadly, my puppy gets quite carsick on rides lasting longer than about 10 minutes. And, you guessed it, she threw up in the car after the 30-min car ride home. I immediately called the store, but alas, the veterinarians had just left, so I called corporate. At first they were wonderful, telling me no problem, it won't cost again to vaccinate (no, I was never asking to receive a free revaccinations of the oral meds - but, hey, it was offered). But, the gentleman told me to call back in a half hour so we could call the next location. I could type for an hour, but I'll give a summary. Next call, that rep on break, the guy who is there calls but doesn't ask the vet the right question, then tells me we can revaccinate if I reach out to petcoach.co and get an answer that it is safe to do so, which I did and have the email. Call back to tell them, the girl says she'll escalate, several days later no call, it is in the notes but never escalated correctly, retell dilemma to new people several times, and always ask them to call my cell. After 10 days I pick up a message on the phone I asked them not to call that is 4 days old from a supervisor who calls from a blocked number, asks me to call back and never leaves a number. I call back and spend over an hour. Seems they sent a refund of about $22 to me (I haven't received yet, but probably will). But, my complaint is that the ala carte price for these to meds will be about $55. So, I asked to make sure that I don't spend more than $17 more out of pocket, which is equal to the discount portion for the meds she threw up. So, now, we are only talking about $16 additional discount off their published a la carte price, and it is the principal - if you make it so inconvenient by moving weekend locations for loyal customers, that on the rare occasion this happens, make it a win-win. Well, you guessed it by now, they called back and said there is no way to determine if it was a reaction to the med or car sickness, and they will do no more. It is sad they are losing a lifelong customer, who traveled nearly an hour, went to a website they instructed me to, got an email they asked me to, spent hours on the phone with broken promises and commitments, and then wouldn't make it right by $16. True character is only discovered when it is tested. Petco/Vetco may look great from afar, but when it came to their caring about a pet and their customer's experience that included several errors on their end, and offering a reasonable solution, they failed miserably. read more

I cannot say enough about Angel as a groomer because she is fantastic and sweet and the dogs love her so I know they are well taken care of when in her care. I followed Angel, the groomer, from PetSmart. PetSmart is closer to my house, but Angel has made the extra miles worth it. She's groomed my dogs since 2016. She's always so excited to see them.
