I remember stopping by My Pet Market in the past for the occasional dog treat for a friend though I didn't have a reason to stop by regularly as I have never had a dog or really any pet other than goldfish before. That is until this past week when my wife and I adopted a dog. We stopped by My Pet Market yesterday to get a wash for our new member of the family while also looking around at other items and asking the employees for some advice. It was an all-around positive experience! My wife and I just adopted our dog on Thursday, and two days later, we were ready for our first outing with her to get her a bath at the iClean Dog Wash. We put on her harness for the occasion, which seemed a bit loose. We asked the team working for advice and received some helpful information that made a big difference. We then went to the bag left corner of the store and took advantage of a pet wash, which was $15 for about 15 minutes that included a regular wash, shampoo, conditioner, flea wash, low pressure dryer, high pressure dryer, and sanitization (of the wash area). We could stop and start at our convenience to ensure we have time to get a dog fully washed or dried. Towels, brushes, and aprons were provided to the washers. While our dog wasn't a fan of the process, we thought it was easy to use and ensure she got clean. After the wash, we looked around at the many products. We will certainly be back! My Pet Market is a family-owned, independent pet store that specializes in natural foods for all sorts of animals. They have a huge supply of treats, toys, and products. Their staff are prepared to provide information that we may need to keep our pets healthy and happy based on our pets' individual needs. They provide recommendations as needed. On the weekends, they even host local rescues to help animals find their forever homes. When we were there yesterday, they had an event to help some bunnies find homes. My Pet Market is open weekdays and Saturdays from 8 AM to 9 PM and Sundays from 9 AM to 7 PM. They also have a loyalty program with other discounts and promotions. My pet market does not hire retirees. I have a lot of experience with owning dogs and a cat. I've worked in retail and in the medical field for years. I think it's age discrimination. I will never shop there again. They said they need somebody with more experience in dog food but Joe said they train you. I don't know who is telling the truth. A big shout out to Ducky at the Paradise Valley location. She was fantastic! We went in to use the dog wash to clean up our dog after returning from hiking in Kanab, Utah. Ducky explained the steps perfectly so using it was a breeze. Afterwards we wanted to get some healthy treats for our 18 year old girl who has a sensitive tummy. Ducky helped us navigate through all the options. Happy to say our dog absolutely loved Ducky's recommendation of the Grandma Mae's Country Naturals air dried food treats. I've been a 10 plus year customer and we currently have 2 dogs- dachshund and German Shepherd. We've been buying food , treats , toys here for years. The manager said they price match but when I googled Grandma's Maes #14 bag and price match was 50.00 ELISE the manager of 5 years said $64.00 . She basically said take it or leave it. We probably spent close to 3000-5000 at this business and with her crappy attitude we're done. I hope the corporate office doesn't allow her to train the help here , she will bankrupt the company. She should be fired ! Who talks to customers like that but arrogant and crude people. Don't advertise to your customers and then bait and switch people! read more

On a recent outing to Whole Foods, in the same parking lot, we noticed this market and was thrilled as were were in the market for a new cat tree. We walked in and were overwhelmed by the cleanliness and sheer mass of options. We were specifically also looking for new treats for our kitties as one has food allergies. We found a tree but it was a bit out of our price range. Needless to say the manager took the price down considerably\ By the end of the visit, we found a kitty tree and new treats as well as a few other things. And since, the tree would not fit in our car it was delivered less than an hour later. I was incredibly impressed with everything and will be back in shortly when our special order food is in. read more

While on the hunt for the Penezy's spice market, we discovered the Choice Pet Market. Being an owner of three cute kitties, we decided to check them out and see if they had anything special. The first few isles and the entire left wall was devoted to cats. We picked up a few bags of treats and the best cat toy ever. An automatic laser light, you can set for 15 minutes and it automatically turns off. We have used a manual laser light, but after a few minutes, my arm gets tired, so this is great, we can exercise or play with the cats while watching without getting cramps in the arm. It's been a great addition to our endless supply of cat toys! As for the treats, they didn't really seem too interested, and the prices, well, they were a little bit high end. I guess if you spoil the pet, price wouldn't make much difference. read more

Great selection of high end foods and specialty treats the Scottsdale Shea store downsized but the Tatum Shea store has good variety

The Choice Pet Market stores are all very similar....... Extensive and diverse food options for all your pets, friendly, knowledgeable staff and great service. I normally go to the Pima location, but I was near Shea and Tatum needing to pick up dog food before getting my kid at school. I walked in and the staff greeted me and asked if I needed any help. Told him what I was looking for and found it easily. *MAKE SURE* you price match your food ahead of time and they will store your pets food and price matched amount on your account! This makes it a lot cheaper, in most cases, than the advertised price! read more

Imagine a PetSmart without any of its cheaper merchandise. That's Choice Pet Market. That said, while the prices are absolutely higher than PetSmart and the like, CPM does have some things to offer. There are some unique items. The store is quite small, so expect to be greeted and helped right away. Buying that 28 pound bag of dog food? They'll carry it out to your car. In the past, I think I've only used CPM for pet photos with Santa. It wasn't my idea, I swear. Well, maybe it was. Or visited only when other pet supply options had been exhausted. On this day I was in search of vegetarian dog kibble. Don't ask. A visit to PetSmart was unproductive. I'm sure they had some, but I couldn't find it and they were understaffed. I wandered across the street to Choice Pet Market and was helped immediately. Used a 10% off coupon to reduce the cost from obscene to just high, and was on my way in less than ten minutes. Nice. Understand that CPM's are small stores featuring higher end products. The prices have to be higher and the service has to be better for the business model to work. On this visit, the model worked well. read more

I was surprised with knowing that they don't honor what they say to their customers. We explained that we have a picky dog and we tried many types of food with no success. We were informed by staff that we can purchase any brand, try it with our dog and if he didn't like it we can return or exchange. My wife started trying different flavors and brands and no success he wouldn't eat them. Untill one day we were surprised that the cashier told my wife you can not return or exchange because you reached the limit. I told him when we bought it I asked if we can return and he confirmed that yes we can. I understood from other locations that the manager put a note on our file like we are cheating on them. I talked with the manager and told him that no one told us there is a limit and I asked him if they think we are doing that on purpose and explained that all staff know about our dog and how picky he is. To make it short I really didn't like it how they misled their customers. It is the customer right to know there is limit on returns before they buy especially if they ask the employees. We spet a lot at this place but because of the manager and the rude way he treated and talked to my wife, I am not doing business with them any more. read more

I'm giving this store 3 stars cause they have a great product line. But they are WAY overpriced, which stops it from getting 5 stars. I buy my dog turkey feet and stopped here to get a few of these gross looking treats. But they were $11.50 each!!! I usually pay $5.99 at the specialty pet store down the street. While I was there, I looked at my dogs food pricing and it was $10 more than I pay usually. Considering there are several animal specialty stores nearby, I'm surprised people pay this crazy mark up. Choice Pet Market's prices are much higher than either Petco or Petsmart, but there is a unique selection of toys that is different from the other chains.
