Met Savanah while shopping. My dog went straight to her and was excited to see her. A coworker of hers informed me she was a groomer. I had been searching for one and had no luck getting appointments. Savanah informed me she had opening immediately and I jumped on it. My dog was absolutely thrilled to be with her. He is a 85lb Australian Shepard who needed nail trip and shedding treatment with bath. He came out beautiful, happy and feeling spoiled. Savanah is a natural with animals and I highly recommend her grooming services. Also Petco employee informed me they increased staffing so if you had issues in past give them a try! read more

We recently adopted a kitty and wanted to buy a cat tree for her. We'd never had a cat tree before. We walked into Petco in Pittsield and encountered a very busy sales clerk by the name of "Jena". In a nutshell, she dropped everything she was doing to help us. We bought the cat tree she recommended - 0039665513 EYAY EYAY. We brought it home and while pitting it together, our new kitty, "QtPi", noticed the top bed sitting on the floor, she jumped in and claimed it for her own. We have hardly been able to get her out of it. She climbs to the top of it every night and that's where she sleeps. During the day she plays and climbs on the tree. It's just the best. (great quality and very sturdy too) A shout out to "Jena" for making our little aopted "QtPi" so very happy. read more

Hate this place as much as I hate Walmart. To my mind they're both part of the same evil empire, the one titled We Gotcher Money. The staff is ignorant, yet they sure won't admit it. More than once I've been given erroneous, potentially harmful advice. And worse, the store is unreliable. You can never be sure what you want will be on the shelves. Ask "when?" and you're given the same answer: "the truck will be in tomorrow." Invariably it's somehow delayed, or the desired product was left behind....Oops. The last fiasco I suffered was when I went to buy kitty litter. They were out of my brand, days later they still were. How do you not stock enough kitty litter, especially when you've run every other pet store in the area out of business?? A "helpful" employee suggested I use another brand. Kid obviously never met a cat. Trust me, this is not an isolated incident. Pfui on them. And, for the record, as a cat owner, I find Yappy Hour discriminatory. read more

I visited Pittsfield MA store only to be over charged for items, the cashier could not figure how to do a refund and called manager or someone I thought to be a manager. She was very rude and made me feel like I was the bad guy. Will no longer shop there again read more

We were sold a sick ferret who passed away after two months despite a perfect diet and exceptional care. She had no signs of illness until the day she refused to eat. The next morning she was gone. PetCo did NOTHING to help, refused any compensation for our huge loss. Staff seemed apathetic. We ended up adopting our next ferret elsewhere. Also, hi PetCo employee, I did not ask for your opinion on my new hissing roach. read more

So, it's a chain store and provides as you would expect. They don't employ Veterinarians so don't ask them for pet health advice, just go in and get your supplies after doing your own research. It's clean and organized, the animals look cared for, and they provide grooming service. As a cat owner, it works for me just fine. read more

I recently purchased a ball python and at the time I didn't know much about her. They seemed to be knowledgeable and guided me along to get everything I need.. that part was all good. However when I brought her home I realized she was covered in mites and after doing some research I also realized she is underweight. They then sold me reptile spray for the mites at half price. The manager clearly knew. I thought maybe the mites came from the bedding but then I pointed out all the mites on the reptiles in the store. The manager seemed ashamed. I wish I did my research before hand because I would not have contributed just under $400 for the snake and enclosure to this store that day. I understand mites like fleas happen but these babies should have either A been treated before being sold or B someone should have told me about this problem and saved me a trip back to the store for the reptile spray. I am very upset and no I don't want some manager reaching out to me saying that they are sorry and what can they do to help because they should have known better in the first place and that sorry won't mean a thing to me. I will be bringing my new baby girl Scarlet to the vet this upcoming week for a checkup. Hopefully we don't find anything else wrong with her! read more

The employees here are extremely rude and unhelpful. I was looking for a particular brand of cat food and asked a teenage boy who was stocking the shelves. He just rolled his eyes at me and said in a really sarcastic tone that they don't carry that brand. I think next time I'll shop at Benson's. read more

This is in reply to Betsy H. Get a life. I am not for Pet Co. nor have I ever been employed there but in retail we as the employees don't always start off knowing everything about every item in the store that we sell. We should try to learn as much as possibly but just because we aren't a walking encyclopedia doesn't mean we are idiots. Also, there are many, many times when the trucks are supposed to come and do not due to weather, no drivers and so on. That is not the employee's or the companies fault. Many times the employee's get the short end of the stick when shelves are empty when in fact the manager or one in charge of ordering isn't doing there job. Just some things to think about. read more
