This Petco for me is about as unreliable as my dog Indiana Jones. He's a moody one, my pup, and though I love him, I never know what mood he's going to be in. Kind of like Petco. We come here often for our dogs' supplies. We usually can find everything we need, albeit a tad overpriced, and the staff is sometimes helpful. The girls who are working in the grooming parlor are nice but gosh they did not look pleased to us. Although it was to express Jonesy's enlarged anal glands hence why they were none too happy. Petco is an essential establishment for Sandy Springs and, as such, it should continue to strive to be an excellent business representative of North Atlanta. I just don't get that sense of pride. Then again, there are puppies pissing everywhere. read more

I've been to this location twice since adopting my new dog a few days ago, and both times, I've been SO happy with the amazing people that work here. Jason and Laura were so helpful and answered all of my many questions. I felt extremely confident in the choices I made for my dog's food, treats, and puppy-proof items. My new rescue has some special needs that didn't even phase Jason. He helped me find the perfect things. It was also great to know that some of the hard to find items are also available for delivery through the Petco website, so I don't have to worry about running out of my dog's favorite things. This location is so close to both my work and home, so I'll be here often! read more

Visit Red Bandana up the street for better prices on pet food with a more friendly and knowledgable staff. Had to run in here when our dog food bag was low and Red Bandana was closed. The price for the same bag of dog food at Red Bandana was $8 more! That seems like a lot of money for the same bag of dog food in my book. They did match the price but got a lecture that I need to bring the receipt to prove the price match next time. I don't carry all my receipts, who does? Wouldn't it just be easier for me to shop at the store up the street that already has the lower price...I think so! A great reminder as to why I shop at Red Bandana. Won't make the mistake of coming in here again. read more

What happened? This used to be a good store, employee was rude at best, snarky at worst. Believe it or not, there are some people, myself included, that do not want to do everything online. I was extremely annoyed with Shyan( I think I misspelled her name) when we went to drop off our baby love for this hair cut. When you call ahead, book an appointment, and confirm information you don't expect to be treated like a walk in. Professionalism is VERY important to me so if there is a miscommunication( which happens) please fix your face and be pleasant. Luckily I was able to leave my dog there and still be "fit in" since my appointment disappeared somehow. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the young woman who took care of my baby was EXCELLENT! She actually cared about him and was so sweet to not only me but the others picking up their dogs. She also shared helpful knowledge on preventing flees. I will come back here but I sincerely hope the professionalism will improve. read more

I absolutely hate this Petco. I'm not sure if it's this location or just Petco as a whole as I am always in Petsmart. The place is not well lit, doesn't seem clean and always smells. Customer service could be raised a few notches as well. The kicker is I went to buy a litter box called the smart scoop. The retail price of the box is $119. Amazon had it for $109 and Petco online had if for $109. I went to the store and they only had the floor model and it was priced at $209. I don't know if the others were priced like that or they just priced the floor model like that because it was the last one. I told the manager no thank you. Sorry but I find that to be just a tad unethical! read more

I just wanted to say how pleased I am everytime I bring my shih tzu to the groomers. I've had both Taylor and Kenya groom my dog and they are so sweet and friendly. I am a last minute person and they always seem to get her in. Both ladies are great and are so sweet to my dog! Always a great visit!! read more

The people at this store are very friendly and take time to answer my questions. They carry Wellness Core dog food and Petsmart doesnt carry it. Overall, they have a better selection of HEALTHIER dog food. I havent used their grooming salon yet but I will some time in the future. Only thing is farther than Petsmart and sometimes traffic to and fro is a pain. read more

Stopped in to get some pet food. The store was very clean and there were a couple of helpful employees. We did take a peek at some of the kittens with the volunteer standing right next to us and we might as well have been invisible. I was surprised at how slow it was for a Friday afternoon. read more

This grooming salon has been my saving grace! Everyone I've met has been just lovely, however, Taylor is a godsend!! She sees both of my fur babies (Ebby - 13 yr old Shih Tzu with a slew of health ailments; Noah - 8 yr old Shih Tzu Pomeranian mix and total spazz). She is always incredibly accommodating, friendly, compassionate toward my babies and me, and always professional yet approachable. I'm never worried when my babies are with Taylor, and they've grown to love and appreciate her just as much as I do. She's really invested in getting to know my Ebby and Noah, and it's always genuine. I was skeptical of grooming salons after some terrible experiences with my Ebby, but Taylor helped ease my anxieties and worries. They have good selection of guppy fish, sometimes you will be able to find good elephants ear guppies ( male ) and other types of guppies in there. Jeff who works in the fish section is very helpful, he will be a good guide if you are a beginner. read more

We brought our baby girl here for a spa day. They have a new grooming area manager, sorry I forgot his name. The new manager took his time to find out what we wanted. He introduced us to our groomer, ROBIN who did one of , if not the best cut on Puppy Girl that she has ever had. This store was clean and well stocked. Staff interactions were pleasant. As far as Pet stores go in the area, I am pretty certain I like this one the best and will be returning as often as I need to! First off the staff member Aliah (I think) was over the top friendly and helpful. Though the store didn't feature exactly what I was looking for she did direct me in the right direction and answered all my questions to her best ability. Their prices were way better than Petsmart (outside of dog gates) but everything else seemed to be a bit lower to significantly lower pending the item. The store layout felt more open but was full of products. This is a very good store at least on my first impression of it. read more

My first time with the groomers here was amazing, second time just ok, now after this third time I will NEVER go back. Avoid them at all costs! I set up an appointment more than a week in advance, when I got there I was told they no longer have it. The lady agreed to work me in but said b/c it was a holiday weekend and someone called in sick it will take longer then the 4 hour quote I normally get. she asked me to give them SEVEN hours. I go here b/c I get my haircut across the street. Typically I can drop off my dog, get my hair cut and come back to leave. This isn't near where I live so going home isn't an option, I had to grab lunch and shop to kill enough time to go back for my dog. when I got there I was informed they thought they told me to come after 8 hours, I confirmed with her that is not true and she said it was ok, bc she had bathed my dog but just hadn't cut her yet. I don't understand why you would bathe her and then put her away, why get a dog in and out more than once? but ok I can wait for the cut. I have a long hair breed and I had shown the groomer pictures of how I like her cut. She has some unruly hair that needs to go and some areas it needs to stay fluffy, I like her feet and back of legs really tight. I get that it has now been a full day since she saw the pictures but if nothing else I expect a groomer to know a breed cut. this woman took a razor to my dog and all but made her bald. she left the tail fluffy and that is it. If this was consistent I might have less issue but there are patches on her knees and stomach where she has regular long hairs. At this point I want my dog and I want to go home, but now she couldn't find my leash. Another thing I don't understand, why was my lease EVER separated from the collar? why are they not kept either with the kennel my dog is in, or organized better? She came out to ask me 3 times what it looks like to find out that the other groomer gave my leash to someone else. I will say, they did give me a free leash and I did get to pick it out but their quality wasn't as good as what I had when I arrived. And then I was still charged full price for the cut that took a whole day and isn't what I like. Sadly, I only half blame the groomer here. I completely fault petco and the management of this store to not see a need. First groomers shouldn't be answering the phones while grooming. EVER. however, when someone calls in sick and creates a staffing issue a good manager sees the need and either assists themselves or puts another staffer on the phones and to do intake. Shame on Management for failing the groomers, me and my dog! read more

Karen the groomer is the BOMB, she is a true dog whisperer as my English Springer is like the movie 50 first dates. Though when Karen greats us for the monthly trim, cut and tuck she is like happy, happy to see her. Karen has a great talent working with dogs, great cuts every time.. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This Petco is awful, unprofessional and rude employees. The store is disorganized and never anyone to help you. You actually have to go looking all over the store for an employee and they seem put out when you find them. Some of the groomers do not have enough training and that is concerning. read more

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience at this Petco location. I took my dog for a full service bath which includes a bath with natural shampoo, blow dry, 15 minute brush out, ear cleaning, nail trim, gland expression and scented spritz. When I picked him up, I asked if his nails were trimmed. The person said yes so I paid for the service while the groomer went and got my dog from the kennel. When I walked my dog to the car, I noticed that his nails had not been trimmed at all. I took my dog back inside and asked a second time if his nails had been trimmed. The groomer admitted that she had not completed the service and begrudgingly trimmed his nails at that time. I was amazed that I was blatantly lied to and allowed to pay for a service that had not been rendered. I will no longer patronage this business. An establishment with such bad ethics cannot be trusted. read more
