Very disappointing experience. I truly hope the manager or corporate office addresses Petcoat 26501 Bouquet Canyon Rd, Saugus, CA 91350 at the Valencia location. Every time I visit this store, I end up waiting 10-15 minutes before anyone in the grooming salon even acknowledges me. 1. When the groomers are in the back bathing a dog, there is no window or visibility, so they have no idea customers are waiting. 2. One groomer actually saw me waiting and kept knocking on the wall to get someone's attention, but the others had earplugs in, so no one responded. 3. An older gentleman with a cane was waiting in front of me, clearly uncomfortable, and still no one acknowledged either of us. If PETCO cares about customer service, here are some simple solutions: * Hire a receptionist to schedule appointments and check customers in. * Install a Ring door alert so groomers can see when someone walks in. * Add an inexpensive wireless camera/monitor so staff can see the lobby at all times. * If staff take too long to acknowledge customers, offer a complimentary service as a courtesy. It's unacceptable to treat customers this way. My time is valuable, and I can't keep coming in without knowing when someone will finally check me in. When I knock on the glass door after waiting 15 minutes, the staff get upset--as if I'm the problem. This is very poor customer service, and I hope my feedback reaches someone who will actually fix it. Right now, it feels like the store is choosing to ignore the issue. I wanted to highlight Jericho. He helped me recently and he had outstanding customer service skills and knowledge about aquariums and aquarium plants. He helped guide me to buy aquarium plants and the plants he helped me with are really thriving and look beautiful. The plants are growing fast. I'm very happy. The aquarium looks great now and the fish and shrimp look very happy. The day Jericho helped me- he came over and asked if I needed help and he took the time to explain and highlight which plants would do well in my aquarium, he was patient with me and bagged the plants I was going to purchase, he also was aware and cared about his fellow employees. After taking care of me, he immediately went to help at the check out line. There was a long line and he went to help. He's very polite, has great customer service skills, and he's very knowledgeable about aquariums. Petco, it's where the pets go.... This location is quite nice. Very clean and well organized. Plenty of parking as it's part of strip mall and literally next door to Trader Joe's. One stop shop. They of course have the groomers on site and it's actually along the window front. Pretty neat walking by and watching someone baby getting all pampered and ready for the day. The isle is nice and wide and pretty neat. Didn't see anything out of place. A good selections of pets toys which is great for the fur babies. Overall neat store. read more

This is our go-to fish store, or pet store in general. My kids and I visit almost weekly to hang out with Lupe in the fish room. The staff at this Petco location are all excellent, but Lupe really stands out. My family is relatively new to aquariums, and Lupe is a pro. He's got so much knowledge and gives great advice. I feel like he watches out for us, making sure we bring home quality, healthy fish and avoiding sick, or weak fish. So we come here kinda often. PetSmart is usually my go-to because it's closer, but are in Petco a few times a month. It's always a wait for the fish area, but it's usually fine. Where are all of the employees? There was one checking people out at the register, so We waited in the fish area for like 10 minutes for someone to come around.Eventually we walked around to see if we could find someone to help us. No one was on the floor in any department. We went back to the fish area, and a few minutes later 3 employees walked through who were talking about stocking the fish... you know, the ones that we were there to buy... and looking at actively, right in front of them. Not even one of them made eye contact with me, asked if we had been helped, or even said "hi" and then walked away. I've worked in retail for half of my adult life and we were always trained to greet customers. I have been a happy Petco customer for YEARS. My dog was recently diagnosed with end stage kidney failure and put on a prescription diet for his end of life care. I went to this Petco with a prescription and because it didn't have a barcode the clerk said they had to grab a manager to override. Along comes an untrained and extremely rude "manager" named Karley who declines to accept the prescription my vet provided for my dog without any explanation. FOR PRESCIPTION DOG FOOD. If I didn't have a prescription I understand, but I do and my dog is dying so shame on these heartless & unqualified people who run a pathetic store. For VETCO clinic: I am doing a review on the excellent vet appointment with Dr. Chang at the Vetco, the vet clinic within Petco. The staff is amazing here!!! I brought my stressed out Pomeranian here for his updated shots. My dog, had some anxiety when visiting a new clinic. Dr Chang was confident in herself and the staff's ability to calm him, and took him for a little walk to try some techniques to get him not to nip/bite during this appointment. Me? "I" was stressed! I was sooo glad when the Dr told me they were able to get him to relax, so they were able to do his check up and his vaccinations with no problem. Whew! With all that said, there are extra services that Vetco offers, aside from the yearly vaxx. I am all about taking good care of my dogs, but the extra vaccinations/tests can get pricey. So I opted to hold off on, or even pass on a couple of them. This place is WONDERFUL. I am glad that I found a place I can trust with our fur babies. Look no further for your pet needs!!! read more

Super happy I came here to the Santa Clarita location in Saugus! I needed some additional help; I ended up running into the manager who was fantastic! Hannah! What a professional ,wonderful kind and incredibly knowledgeable human being! This young lady knew her stuff! I absolutely adore her! She was on it, knew exactly what I was in need of! She offered to look in the back as well as offered comparable items etc... She had also checked in the system to find out if item was possibly back stocked! What I like about Hannah was that she let me know beforehand that the other item I needed might not be back stocked even though the system shows one is available! I appreciate her willingness to help as well as being completely transparent about the possibility of not having it. Hannah also helped to educate me on the brand formula type! I learned a few new things to pass onto my daughter about their golden doodle! I was so stoked that she did find it! Super happy with my experience! Recommend this spot! Wow! This store is so understaffed it's ridiculous. 1-2 employees trying to run the entire store including cashier, assisting with pets, stocking, taking pick up orders out, etc. - I have seen dead fish here as you clearly don't have enough staff to care for the pets. Also, stop offering curbside if you don't have enough employees to bring orders out in a timely manner. If I wasn't sick currently I would have gone inside myself. Sorry to say that Petco is way below average. They usually have only one employee out on the floor to help customers including the fish selections. That takes much time since they have to net them, bag them and write the prices on the bags. A customer could have to wait a very long time for assistance. There is usually only one cashier so depending on time of day a customer might have to wait behind 8 or more other customers. I used to shop for fish there but between the poor quality of the fish and the long wait times I do not spend my money at Petco anymore. read more

Today our 50 gallon freshwater tank was ready for a whole new school. Kendall, a member of Petco's staff, was eager to help. I have so many great things to say about her. She is excited and happy to help, she is incredibly knowledgeable about all things aquatic. She knows and likes the fish and encouraged us to build a school of gouramis, cichlids, African frogs, and angels.
