I bought over the years, two of my favorite items: A hidden bar! Yep, the piece stands about 5 feet. When you push the door, it swings out to revel shelves where I stack my alcohols. I mean, you could also hide porn in this thing but heck, thats just gross. It also has doors on each side where I keep all my different bar glasses. My wife just sees the pleasing pattern, I know its where I keep the scotch. At my front door I have, I dunno, a front door table? It's small enough where we keep a plant and the mail. It has a small drawer where some kookie stuff lives like a screw driver, a flashlight and a pair of kids spiderman gloves. And of course, this piece is also hand painted. I like the store, its selection and how all is displayed. However, the customer service is unprofessional and inattentive. No eye contact with customers from 2 employees, no interest in customers, being on their private phone, while customers wait at the sales desk, and when letting them know the customer is ready to purchase, giving attitude as if the employee is annoyed. After all, it is not a 99 cents store, but a pricy place, and it would be nice if the customer service matched the environment. read more

I called Peters Andrews to place a time-sensitive order to arrive by a specific date. I ordered an expensive in-stock piece specifically to arrive in time for my 80 y.o. parents' visit, to allow them to spend time with us outside during COVID. On the delivery day I had not heard from the company and called to follow up. They told me that they had neglected to enter the delivery day. I offered to pay a premium to find a solution. The best they could offer was to deliver days later. Because I had cancelled with another company an ordered with them for this specific reason, it was a great disappointment. read more

I went to Peter Andrews in search of a bathroom vanity. Within 5 minutes, I found one. Perfect style, reasonable price. ($597) The saleswoman offered to assist me in getting the item paid for. At the register, I was told the price was an additional $125 for delivery and assembly. I explained that I didn't need either and that I'd like the floor model or I'd like it brought to the store and I'll pick it up. But that option was also $125 She proceeds to "educate" me by telling me that every furniture store operated the same way. FALSE!! Since I own a truck, I always opt to pick up my purchases at the store location. And the woman at the register was NASTY!!! I've been a customer for many years but will never go back. I found a BETTER vanity for LESS elsewhere. Sadly (for them and the poor salespeople that are trying to earn a buck but don't make these stupid policies) I will be refurnishing my house elsewhere. I had bought a couch from Peter Andrews for about $1600 and approximately two years after purchasing the sofa all the cushions had pulls that started to turn into holes where I could stick my finger in it!! This sofa was lightly used by a young couple. I reached out to the warranty company( guardian, which was an additional cost) to tell me that it wasn't accidental so I cannot be covered. So I reached out to the Peter Andrew stores since this is a defect of the material which they directed me to Mike N in customer service. He reached out to the manufacturer who refused to do anything. So the ball was back with PA where the Owner allowed me less than 15 percent off a future purchase. What an Insult. Very upset that after purchasing a sofa from them, two years later I have to throw it out. I have purchased many items from them but feel that future customers should be aware about how they handle defects. I have heard about other companies who refund you the money for the sofa for such a situation but they only gave me less than 15 percent off. I WILL never purchase anything again and will spread the word. In response to Diane's comment: It happened to all cushions so it must be material defect, as your competitors have stated. The sectional was minimally used and after 2 years that is unacceptable for me to purchase new sofa casings. The discount was $150 which I found to be an insult and didn't bother to respond back. Peter Andrews should have done a lot more in my opinion. Either attempted to cover majority of the cost of new casing or give more of a discount on a new product. Great place to buy your reproduction house stuff. They have some decent pricing on Calphalon and other name brand cookware as well as a huge selection of glass ware and kitchen ware. The reproduction furniture seems a bit pricey to me, but there are so many items to browse that it makes finding stuff for the house - or for a house warming gift simple - plus they gift wrap too. Excellent staff on hand to help you out if needed. read more

If you're loaded, this place is probably an instant 5-star experience. If you're not, you need to dig around for some cool, reasonably priced items for your home. Take the couches / furniture, there's some good looking items, but you can find identical items elsewhere for close to half the price. Some of this stuff is vintage-y, so it might be hard to find them elsewhere, in which case you might justify paying double, but for the most part it's not worth it. As for the little quirky items for your home, this is also hit or miss. There was a fake lil pig for $25, OK. Next to it, a fake little dog for $125. Wtf?! This is what you're dealing with. Kudos to them bc I did find a cool soup bowl with a handle (yea, I chug, what's it to you?) for under $4. Win. Come here to find some fun stuff for the home and to think about the day you might become rich enough to pay 1k for a cloth headboard. read more

Never going to this place to order furniture again. If i could give zero stars, I would. I had brought my truck with me in order to take home a chair , and they wouldn't let me buy the chair without paying a $125 delivery fee (that I didn't need), and wouldn't let me take it in my truck. Later that day I saw them loading furniture into someone else's truck, and when asked why this is an exception to the $125 delivery fee rule, they said it was because it came from a "special room". They WILL force you to pay the delivery fee and provide no other alternatives. Awful service and not worth the trouble. Don't go here. read more

Disappointing quality of the serving tray purchased. The tray's paint started chipping off after a few months with little use. I was hoping for good craftsmanship for the cost (about $100), so returned to the store with receipt in hopes of a replacement. Perhaps this tray was defective? But it was past their policy date, so received a store credit for about $20 because the tray was now on sale (good faith gesture from the manager). But most disappointing was being told by the sales person that I "banged" the tray with use and that's why the paint chipped off (poor customer service to even imply this) and I was then told it's really not supposed to be used (I'm unclear what else a serving tray would be used for). This encounter was about a year ago and just sitting down to write this review as I came across the tray recently in my house, sadly unused all this time. 6/27/17 update Re: Peter Andrew's comment to my review Just an FYI for potential future shoppers, this is the way you'll be treated--the store will share your personal information with the public. We ordered a stock couch, not custom, in February 2021. We were ok with the fact that it would be delayed (Covid, makes sense), but the couch didn't arrive when they said in May. When we called to ask about status, we were hung up on, not answered or told several times they would call us back and never did. When we finally got through to someone in June, we were yelled at by a woman who said she was "just answering phones" and didn't know anything about our order. We weren't bothered by the delays as it is a pandemic, but we are so turned off by the customer service... The couch is finally in (so they say) but wont be delivered for another 3 weeks. Please shop somewhere else. The place has wonderful pieces, but unfortunately, we will not be ordering from them again. read more

Really should be zero stars since I ordered furniture in 2020 and it is 5/30/21 and still no furniture. I NEVER post a negative review but do not want anyone to experience what we have. I have called on numerous occasions for an update. At one point I said you are advertising the pieces are in stock so I will cancel and reorder-at which point they said I would go to the end of the LINE. Horrible customer service. Their furniture looks nice but does not hold up. The prices seem great but when it doesn't hold up youre better off spending more to get quality pieces. Bought a couch for our "nice" sitting room that is piling after only 6 months. This is the room we never sit in. Bought a server that warped and i have to sand down to close. Got a custom fabric ottoman to match the couch. Sales associate recommended a fabric that ended up being 1 shade off the couch and actually clashes. Obviously it's custom (and hideous) so there's nothing anyone can do. $6000 pretty much down the drain. read more

If I could give no stars I would. We bought 2 floor model pieces and 3 new pieces to create a wicker seating group. The floor model 2 person couch sections were in perfect condition when we bought and paid for them. They held them for 2 & 1/2 months Until the new pieces were ready.The day they delivered them it was raining and they were wrapped in plastic. I scanned them for problems and they didn't appear to have any. The next day we took the plastic off and put on the cushions- the couch was bowing downward. My husband lifted it up and looked underneath. The metal frame was completely bent and one piece had snapped. I called snd complained. No luck. You bought it " as is" they said. NEVER EVER shop in this store. My family and I experienced the most horrible frightening experience by one of the sales people. We were trying to purchase birthday gifts for our 85 year old grandmother when the sales clerk started to yell at us that we had to continue to stand & wait because the register wasn't working! No one was at the register. We had waited 20 minutes.. She continued to yell " ARE YOU GOING TO FIX THE REGISTER? " When we became fed up and said they were rude and we were leaving.. the woman RAN AFTER US TO OUR CAR YELLING " YOU ARE B_ _ _ _ _ _ _!!! It was terrifying! We had a 7 year old with us, who was traumatized. We were traumatized. This was like the twilight zone !!!!!! We called their other store to lodge a complaint but received no response. I had purchased a beautiful TV console table from Peter Andrews in Huntington Station back in late December 2019. It was delivered to my home a few days later. I didn't notice it at first but I saw that the joints were not in the holes in two spots in front of it. It also had other stress cracks on it but I wasn't to concerned with them. The 3rd party repair man came and said he couldn't fix it. I told them what happened and asked if they could replace it and they said definitely not because it can be fixed. She also indicated that I moved it so that's why that happened!!! Which is impossible because the repair man was putting all of his weight on it and could barely hold it together. Then they said they would send him again free of charge. He came back and was working here for two hours on it and finally fixed it. He said the piece was warped and had been thrown around. When it was turned over the back leg was cracked in half so he glued it together. Anyway as a customer you should not have to go through all of that for one piece of furniture. I will not be shopping there ever again. I would rather pay more money and get furniture that's not damaged. This is also not the first time this happened but they did replace it that time. It's a shame because they have really nice things but if you see something you like in the showroom take a picture get the maker and shop elsewhere. read more

I ordered a dining room set (table and chairs) end of May with delivery planned 4-6 weeks. 7/15 - No update from them so I called and they had no idea where my order was so they had to track it down - they told me it still hadn't been shipped to the US. They said they would call me when it arrived in their warehouse which they said would be by July 25th 8/1 - They never called so I called them again and they put me on hold to find out where my order was. Surprisingly, it just arrived in the warehouse. They told me the delivery company would call to schedule delivery. 8/5 - Never got a call from the delivery company. Called Peter Andrews to find out what was going on. They gave me the delivery company contact # and told me to call (gotta love the customer service) 8/14 - Scheduled delivery...he never called 30 minutes before to let me know so I ran out to the post office; he only stayed for 5 minutes and told my Aunt who was watching my daughter that he wouldn't be able to deliver anyway because there was a balance on my account which I was never made aware of. It gets better...I had to call and reschedule and pay a $25 re-stocking fee because of the failed delivery attempt. How do you like that for service? I called Peter Andrews to ask why no one had called about the balance and they couldn't seem to give two hoots about helping me out or explaining what happened. I never thought of looking at reviews for this place, because I just assumed their merchandise was of excellent quality. I was wrong. I won't make this long and drawn out. I will just say that I purchased outdoor furniture and used it for two seasons and the very expensive umbrella broke. I noticed that it was improperly assembled when it was delivered, actually a screw was stripped and it was a major screw holding it together. So naturally you would hope that they might work with me. After all, the umbrella isn't supposed to last for 6 to 8 months (that is my season) is it? Now here is what you need to pay attention to as you scroll through this review. Forget about being out so much money, what blew my mind was when I contacted customer service, I was asked to send an email to the person who would reach out to me, which I did. I received an automated response back about "bla bla bla" and then guess what? I never heard another thing back. Even after sending a follow up email. BTW, when I searched up the umbrella on their site, I found the exact same complaint about another customer's umbrella (similar to mine) which I included in my original email. Now you may be reading this and reading other good reviews and I know that can be confusing. Here is my answer to that. The umbrella itself, I love and would give the price, delivery and the umbrella a great rating (but not the assembly). Here is the issue, if you buy something from them and it breaks, stains, etc, they will ignore you when you try to call for assistance. Now some of you may be thinking it was past the 1 year warranty and it is what it is. That means you think I should get no more than under a year's use when I buy something like this? I don't agree. They should at least work with me, maybe another umbrella at a discount, anything....but I got stinking nothing. What I will try now is a letter from my attorney (and yes it will cost me a few $100.00 dollars) to see if they respond. If not I will do a summons and complaint on my own, it's easy enough to do. Facebook has this funny thing as soon as you start shopping and researching things they automatically start popping up with a variety of ads. When we found a new home of course we started searching for furniture we needed a new bedroom set and we browsed the internet and stores and nothing was what we wanted suddenly Peter andrews furniture pops up on Facebook advertising a beautiful unique bedroom set it was love at first sight and I had to have it!!! But The store is a hike from where I live so I kept browsing local stores and the internet but my mind was set on the set from this store. Finally took the hour long drive to the store to see the set for myself and there it was!!!! Even though it wasn't staged and just sitting there against the wall the set was just as beautiful in person and had the other things I needed to see in furniture that I didn't find with other places I browsed good quality and fair prices!!! So I made the saleswoman day since I bought it immediately lol I didn't need to decide I wanted this set!!! Anyway as for the store it's adorable a little bit of everything and anything I would drive there again for some cute stuff I saw to decorate my home. And what I really loved was the laid back non pushy feel nothing irks me more than going to a store and have salespeople follow you around and annoy you. They said hello when we entered told us if we had any questions please let them know and let us free to roam the store!!! Once we found what we came for we found them told them we want it and that was that. Deliver was even more pleasant the furniture came as promised within 2 weeks of purchase and they delivery company gave us a 3 hour window of delivery and showed up early! Set up the furniture where we wanted and we're done. All in all wonderful experience I am still waiting for my furniture that I ordered for other rooms from other stores and Peter Andrews was my last stop yet my first delivery. So should have read the reviews before purchasing at Peter Andrews, never again, having the same experience that people mention all through the bad reviews, stay away, big stores like Pier One, etc. much better pricing the same even with Peter Andrews quote "sale" prices. TERRIBLE and customer service worse, they could care less that they cannot produce the product they said was back ordered until Mid May and now the story is sometime in July, but no guarantees, worst customer service experience ever, will share with all my family, friends and coworkers all over Long Island, stay away unless you want to buy just silly shit. read more

I bought a cookie jar, coffee mugs, a plate, candy dish and a few ornaments a few weeks ago. When I got home the plate and candy dish were broken. I went to return it today and Pwter Andrews wouldn't give me a new plate or dish saying that all Christmas items are final sale. read more

I have always loved Peter Andrews but today was a bad experience. First of all the parking lot is an absolute wreck with potholes and mud everywhere. The store sells 1,200$ couches but doesn't have hot running water in their bathroom, but I have to say the employees were very nice. Peter Andrews has nice things but are disgustingly overpriced. I've furnished almost my entire house with Hooker Furniture. The price at Peter Andrews was double what I paid. Don't believe me, I have the receipts. Also saw a mirror, they wanted $615 and said it was on sale from $1,200. I found the same mirror on a website called lamps plus for $159. Don't believe me, I'll send you photos of both mirrors. Yes, they have nice pieces but you are over paying. Save your money and go elsewhere. The mark-up on furniture is double! read more

If you haven't stopped by lately, don't bother. Peter Andrews was my "go to" store for shower, housewarming, grab bag or baby gifts. No longer, now they stock almost all furniture. Expensive furniture. I saw they were having their big "tent" sale this weekend and I hoped to pick up some holiday gifts. There were plenty of "Spode" Christmas pieces but if you are looking for more of a year round gift or other brands I recommend "Home Goods" This is not the old Peter Andrews that got the good reviews. read more

Between their Huntington store and Farmindale store I shop there about twice a month, even if I'm just checking out the new merchandise. Horrible customer service. We bought a chair for over $1200 off the floor. They acted as if they were doing us a huge favor because they had no stock and would have to wait 2months for another chair. This was on Dec 22nd. We were told we could order the matching ottoman. We went in again on Dec 26th to see the same chair. They made up some story. We tried to order the ottoman and they told us we had to order and pay in advance with no guarantee of color with a no return no refund policy. Take your business elsewhere. We sure have! This Huntington store has a great layout and large amount of home goods you won't see everywhere that's sure to spice up anyone's home. Yeah something things may be a lil pricey but you'll be very happy when the item's are placed in your home. You'll be glad you bought it. This place has all sorts of interesting items for the home. Unfortunately, their pricing is off the mark and the customer service is atrocious. We bought a piece of furniture that was guaranteed to be delivered before Christmas. We called a couple of days before Christmas to find out we would be required to pick up the item from their warehouse. When my wife arrived to pick up the item it was broken. It was clear the quality wasn't to the standards we expected considering the price we were paying for the piece so when they offered to have a replacement ordered my wife told them it was not necessary. We then called several times to get our money refunded but got nowhere. One manager said she had to talk to another manager who in turn needed to talk to someone else, you get the picture. A couple of days later we received a letter saying our replacement item had been ordered without our consent. We decided it best to visit the store and speak to the rep who sold us the item out of one of their catalogs. Guess what? She needed to speak to her manager! Even though she was a manager! I asked her to get the charge refunded and she said she would "investigate". We called several times to follow up but never heard back. I had the payment stopped on my credit card and plan to go elsewhere for our future home furnishing needs. If you really have the urge to overpay for a candle, go for it, but do yourself a favor and stay away from the "order out of the catalog" process as it is sure to be a disaster! read more
