Another shyster dentist. Unfortunately terrible experience. Doctor cooper refuses to answer questions , especially after the procedure stating he doesn't answer questions.. I came to Dr. Cooper needing bone grafting due to an injury to my front tooth. I was in a very vulnerable position and still am. Dr. Cooper was confident, gave me the prices and the timeline to begin the process. However , I didn't quite get all of my answers that I needed , but I was hoping he was just in a hurry that day and that I needed to trust the process a little. Second day after my bone grafting , I accidentally injured the grafting site there was perfuse bleeding and opened the stitches , so I gave dr cooper a direct call. He said it doesn't sound like a big deal and that I will be fine. I said, my surgery site is wide open and I need to have it take a look at and possibly re stitched. Dr. Cooper said that's not necessary without even looking at it and that will be fine. Well, that night, I didn't feel comfortable with that.So I went to his office first thing in the morning. He reprimanded me and told me that he will not see me without an appointment. I explained to him it's emergency. He assessed the site and said it was normal. I question how the site would heal? And if the gum is going to cover the graph as it's wide open, he informed me that he doesn't deal with what might be and to come back and 1 week and he'll take out the hanging stitch. I came back that next week and the area was still wide open.The stitch was barely hanging there.Just unraveled. I again tried to communicate with him.He completely dismissed me and inform me that he will need to think if he will keep me on a patient. Shocked and frustrated scared said this is not acceptable. And he said , well , don't worry about it , I'll work with you. I decided to get a second opinion and a third have been told that I need to have the surgery redone because the graph is exposed this is a failed graph and then I need to do it as soon as possible before it heals any further. I contacted their office via email and certified letter of immediate discharge , notification and refund of monies for the implant of which have not been done yet. Doctor cooper's office called five days later again were concerned with doctor cooper's personal matters of which have nothing to do with the administrative end of this, dismissing my request for either certified check or money order or all of my records. I informed office staff that I paid cash in good faith and in good faith, I expect a reimbursement that will not further delay my care as a check takes twenty one days to clear. Again I was dismissed. I will be escalating this to the dental board with all x rays and my documentation. The next step in the escalation process is to notify them of my legal intentions. read more

I had such a great experience here. Dr. Cooper took really good care of me. I had scheduled an extraction for the latter part of the month, but when an excruciating toothache kept me up for the majority of the night, he made some time for me and agreed to see me that morning. Hello Yelpers! I hardley ever write a review for anything. I had a painful tooth ache and Dr.Cooper along with his staff are AMAZING! I recently went to another dentist to address the issue and was treated very badly, charged $1400 for a deep clean that was very very painful and walked out with the same tooth ache. So I decided to look further and thankfully found Dr.Cooper. He treated me like a person, very kind and have a good sense of humor, did not try to upsell anything, focused on my toothache and the proceedure was virtually painless! If you're looking for a real professional and AMAZING staff. Look no further, I highly recommend considering calling Dr.Cooper. And it only costed $100 bucks and I'm more than happy to pay that. I started coming to Dr. Cooper in 2008 for some recession issues and he's my go-to any time my dentist suggests getting a periodontist's opinion. Everyone in the office is so nice, parking is easy, the office is very clean / nice and they play great music. Dr. Cooper listens attentively, explains things clearly and has always been conservative in his treatment methods for me. He also has a great sense of humor which I appreciate. I had an icat scan done by his office but it wasn't the correct one my other doctor accepted but the doctor was so kind to refund me my money because his technician said if it wasn't accepted they would refund me, 2 months later my doctor who was out of town finally called saying it wasn't accepted and I called and he still honored the refund only because I was told that by the technician. I am a cash patient with health insurance that doesn't cover advanced dental work. Dr. Cooper is a highly ethical dentist who has never once tried to overcharge me. Like a high-end auto mechanic, he's in a specialty business where it would be very easy to jack up the bills and present the inflated charges to a clueless patient. The fact that he doesn't do this is a testament to his credibility and ethics. As far as the dental work, everything has been absolutely fabulous. For real dental emergencies, the staff will do everything possible to accommodate a busy person's schedule. This kind of gold-star treatment matters, especially when you're paying cash for your own dental work. He also could have kept this business for his own office, but referred me back to my own dentist for a cleaning, telling me I only need to see his hygienist once a year. He said for me to book one teeth cleaning a year with my regular dentist and one with his office, six months later. So he is ethical and money isn't the only thing he cares about. He actually cares about what is best for his patients. My only complaint is that Dr. Cooper admitted he hates cats. I guess I can forgive him for this one character flaw. read more

Dr. Cooper is a leading periodontist in the Pasadena area, but his chair side manner was not a match for me. I am certain his skills are outstanding, but if you are dentist-phobic like I am and you are looking for empathy regarding your fear of procedures you may want to check out others in the area. Let's face it, if you are being referred to a periodontist, nothing that takes place in his office is going to be fun. I struggle with my dental hygienist and mine is a 10! But, this is just my experience and maybe I caught him on a bad day - other periodontists in the area offer iv sedation for some of the more intense procedures whereas Dr. Cooper does not. read more

I've been Dr. Cooper's patient for about thirty years. These days I go there two or three times a year for cleaning. My hygienist Suzi has been cleaning my teeth for at least twenty years. She's very thorough, but she's also very personable and kind. I've had no complaints with any of the staff, ever, at Dr. Cooper's office. I appreciate everyone there. read more

I have been under the care of this doctor for over 20 years. Beginning with periodontal surgery and later implants. He is one of the two top periodontists in Pasadena. No longer living in the Pasadena/LaCanada/Glendale areas that I formerly lived in, I have driven from Rancho Cucamonga and now Acton to go to his office. He is fabulous in his ability and his caring manner. When I've had very extensive work done, he has personally called me at home to check on me. I would absolutely NEVER go to anyone else. Absolutely wonderful doctor and office staff. Dr. Cooper made me an implant 3 years ago, I had no problems, and no pain. Now my dentures stay secure. He is currently making an implant for the other side of my jaw. His carefulness and thoroughness are very reassuring. I am not nervous when in his chair. With other dentists I am always want to get out of the chair and go out the door. His nurse and staff are all caring people who make everyone comfortable and the office is spotless.
