Four stars simply for being an absolute Walt Disney World classic creation based on one of their most famous movies. Nestled deep within the original Section of fantasyland it, you'll find it straight across from it's a small world. Now, you say but why four stars if it's such a Disney classic? Well, it is a Disney classic and my kids loved it for many many years but technology and show wise it's not the most thrilling thing in the world. Nostalgic? Absolutely. You wore the ride into small pirate ship like vessels that hang from the ceiling anywhere from 2 to 4 people depending on their size can fit into one of these little boats. In the span of just a couple minutes it'll arrive last it does A good job at summarizing and encapsulating the essence of the movie itself. You might be thinking, if it's lacking so much technology wise why four stars and why tell me to go there. It's quite simple... It's a Disney classic and you can't miss it. A trip to Walt Disney World resort and not hitting some of the key and iconic rides that based what ultimately would become the epicenter of Walt Disney world resort the Magic Kingdom! I would suggest yes and it simply one of three tactics. One, get there right at 9 o'clock in the morning before the lines get crazy. Two, get a fast pass... Depending on how important it is to you will determine whether or not you should utilize one of your fast passes if it's Uber important that you get on the Peter Pan then definitely grab a fast pass line gets very long. And finally three, go later in the evening after the fireworks a lot of people clear out the part and you're fine wait times to be pretty reasonable especially ones that are going to Bass for Kids. All in all, I love Disney. If you read it read this much in your review for this ride then you probably left is the two. If that's the case it goes without saying that you got to do it you just got to do it... Peter Pan? Tinker Bell? Captain Hook? Tick-tock crock... Brief Description: Another indoor, room-to-room conveyor ride, this one comes with the twist of "flying", as opposed to floating or rolling. You begin in the Darling family's house before taking a relaxing trip in a flying pirate ship over London and off to Never-Never Land. I've seen Peter Pan as a little girl but can only remember bits and pieces. As you sit in your boat, you begin to glide and fly through Neverland to see Captain Hook, Wendy, Peter, Tinkerbell, and the rest of the crew. Peter Pan's Flight was our first ride of the day. Supposedly the wait time was 40 minutes, but we were in and out within 20, and it flies by the time you're in the house. My boys loved playing in the queue. It really is enchanting with Tinkerbelle flitting about, and the shadow wall. The ride itself felt dated to me, but my boys thought it was awesome and loved sailing over the scenes. I would hit this ride early in the morning. Otherwise, I personally don't think it's worth a fast pass or long wait. Fantasyland in general is a great place to start the day, because you can hit a lot of rides and character meet and greets with minimal wait time. read more

My only complaint about Peter Pan's Flight is that the ride is too short! And the line is always LONG! While in queue for Its A Small World, a Cast Member told us that Peter Pan's Flight has the lowest per hour rider capacity in the Magic Kingdom, just over 1,000 in peak times. In comparison, It's a Small World has the highest capacity & can accommodate over 2,500 guests per hour. You must get a Fast Pass to avoid waits of nearly an hour throughout the day. As our day progressed and Mom & I were able to ride just about everything else that we'd wanted to (no roller coasters or big drops for her), we decided we couldn't miss Peter Pan. Using the MDE app, I was able to get our Fast Pass a couple of hours ahead for an 8pm arrival time. Since that's when Wishes began that night, we watched the show first then headed to Fantasyland. #ProTip: the standby line was the shortest it had been all day, under 15 minutes. But with our Fast Pass, we were able to board Peter Pan's Flight almost immediately. But it's definitely worth the wait! read more

I LOVE this ride! It's especially neat if you love the movie. It's inside Disney's Magic Kingdom near "It's a Small World". I'd say the stand by line is generally in the top 5 longest waits in MK-- worth it? If you've never been- yes. But since we have a season pass, I will only ride if I have a fast pass (you can get 3 a day to start with- FREE, and after you use those you can get more, one at a time). The ride itself is slow, so even very young riders can ride. It takes you on a journey through Peter Pan, with beautiful scenes and music. I've taken photos, but without the flash they don't come out well anyways. Definitely a must-ride in the park! read more

I just love this ride! Who wouldn't love boarding a magical pirate ship that takes you through Peter Pan's journey? You get to fly above the streets of London with Peter Pan and Wendy in your own magical flying pirate ship. You kinda get to feel like you're really flying. This ride has been here for as long as I can remember but it's still a classic and to me one of the best for both children and adults. You get to see scenes from the movie and the animatronics are still in pretty good shape. My only advice would be to get a fast pass for this ride because the line can get pretty long. read more

I really don't care that this attraction is old and dated, I love it anyway! I love that I can fly! The animatronics are still as great as ever and this is another Disney must-do. Kids will absolutely love this one and I think most adults should love it too because it will make you feel like a kid again. I do love that this ride is directly about one of their movies. I didn't realize how much detail was put into it until I saw the pictures from other users. I was told this is a classic ride that everyone can enjoy. It's dated, it's short, and it is boring. I'm sure it was quite nice back when it was created in the 1960's, but it just doesn't cut it these days. Peter Pan's Flight is the prime example of an attraction which was part of Disney World when it opened 43 years ago and has not been updated since, probably because Disney wants to preserve adults' nostalgia from when they visited the park as children. I don't think nostalgia alone is enough of a reason to preserve a very old attraction. As one example, fluorescent paint plus black light is used throughout the ride to give the appearance of glowing city lights among other things. If Disney wants something that is low power and low maintenance, these could easily be replaced with low power LEDs. This was the first ride I went on at the Magic Kingdom, and it was a flop. Unless you have little kids that might enjoy flying in the air, or someone who particularly loves Peter Pan, I would say to skip it. read more

Peter Pan, what's not to love? This is a must if you're visiting the Magic Kingdom, especially for the first time. The ride is short but sweet, and the set is a bit dated and hokey, but my oldest loved it, so we wound up going on quite a few times. She was delighted. After a few runs through however, I couldn't help but wish the experience was a bit longer for her sake. For all the time you have to wait on line (around 10-15 minutes with a fast pass and 30-60 without!), the actual ride itself takes somewhere around 4-5 minutes start to end. It just seems like a lot of waiting for a very small payoff. I also have to mention, Disney should really refurbish the ride a bit. It looks like it's straight outta 1952. Peter Pan's flight is neat, but getting stuck was no fun. The ride itself appears to be a boat ride, but once you leave the staging area, your boat takes off. You travel high above never-never land and experience a unique view of the model town below. The ride abruptly stopped in the middle of our flight, which was not fun with two kids. Sure the speakers explained that the ride would begin soon, but being stuck 20 feet above the ground is never a fun time. Hands down the worst ride Disney has to offer. I just don't get it, because people line up for this thing like it is in limited supply. My friend and I waited for close to an hour to go on Peter Pan's Flight, and it was by far the biggest waste of time. I wouldn't have waited that long, but the sign in the front said only a 20 minute wait. Well 40 minutes after those 20 minutes had past we finally got on the ride. Before I talk about the ride itself, let me just say that the queue for Peter Pan's Flight is one of the worst ever. It loops around several times, weaving in and out of cover, so if it is raining or very hot, be prepared to get hit by the elements. It is also just a line, nothing unique to look at or immerse you in the world of Peter Pan whatsoever. Peter Pan is one of my favorite Disney tales, but this ride needs a major upgrade in almost every area possible. Finally getting on the ride, the cars could have used an upgrade to make them a bit more modern, and comfortable. As you go flying around and go from the Darling's house, all the way to Neverland, you'd think that would be exciting, but it isn't. In today's age, most other Disney rides have animatronics that look like they are real people, but I think it would be a slap in the face to call this even technology. Peter Pan, Hook, Wendy, Lost Boys, etc. are less robots at all, and more like statues. Their is even one section when Peter Pan is fighting Captain Hook, and the only thing that is moving is Peter Pan's hand. Come on Disney, you can do better. I get that this is one of the original rides at Disney, so they want to keep it around for nostalgia, I get it. Having said that, no reason they can't throw a little money at it to upgrade the queue line and the ride itself. Disney needs to sprinkle some pixie dust aka money on this ride and bring it to life again. For company that is very much in the 21st century, this ride is in the dark ages of attractions. Don't Wait Longer Than 15 Minutes: It is usually very crowded for some reason throughout the day, so maybe try it at night. The sound is muddy and the front sail tends to block a lot of your vision. The lines move pretty quickly, but they line can get a little long, so I recommend using the Fast Pass here because you don't want to wait 45 minutes for this ride. I really like waiting in line so I can be in the kids room. I like how tinkerbell is going through the room and the lights with the shadows. Able to play with the bell shadows and it jingles. It's pretty much going through the whole Peter Pan movies but in a fast summary. It doesn't really show the Lost boys intro & their dance scene from the movie, Native American Indians scene, and how he kids got tied up to the pole. It goes to the part where Wendy is about to jump off. I really like the view you see when you're up in the sky, and you look over the town while flying to The Neverlands. It's a pretty decent ride. I wouldn't wait for it on a crazy day unless you got time. You have to get a fast pass cuz the lines are crazy. If it's under 45 mins, you can wait in regular lines. read more

A classic ride and one of the last conceived and worked on by Walt Disney himself. Stepping off this ride, you almost feel as if Walt himself might be waiting for you at the end. This ride just feels like Disney! Peter Pan is one of the "must do" rides for most families traveling to Walt Disney World, and as such, the lines stay fairly long throughout the day. Yet another ride/attraction/experience where Disney puts you on a slow moving vehicle attached to a track and you sit there staring at glow in the dark old mechanical contraptions that make a lot of noise. Needless to say this is not something that I think is worth wasting a lot of time on. The non-FP line can get very backed up at times which is surprising considering how big the queue is and that the vehicles load continuously. It's not uncommon to have a 30+ minute wait within the first hour. If the wait is more then 20-30 minutes take a FP and come back later as your time in the park is more valuable then wasting it waiting for this. Unless you are an unabashed Disney foamer, this is not five star material. read more

The ride is short and you are riding in a boat that is flying over neverland. You get to see different scenes depicting peter pan. This is the cutest ride I have ever been on. It is also the first ride that I have ever been on that is from above as opposed to below. It was very interesting to go on a ride that had the track on the top instead of on the bottom. It really does have the Peter Pan's theme and it really gets you into the Disney spirit. This version is equally as good as Disneyland's though different. There's always something "magical" about flying, even if with the aid of pixie dust. If you're scared of the dark or of heights, this one might intimidate you at first, but just think of a wonderful thought -- any happy little thought! Think of all the joy you'll find, when you leave the world behind. If you can catch this attraction for a wait 30 minutes or less, IT IS A NO BRAINER. Get in line, because this is almost unheard of. This is some Classic Disney 101 at its finest. I recall riding this as a 5 year old; well I remember flying high above the London town below, so when we went back to Disney last Oct I couldn't wait to ride it! And then I realized the wait to ride it can easily get up to 3+ hours....at around noon they were distributing FastPasses for it at 10p. Apparently no one could wait to ride it but everyone was going to! So I came up with a plan-be there at rope drop (as soon as the park opens) and RACE to Peter Pan's Flight. My plan worked! And I still ended up waiting 20mins to ride. But it was all worth it. This ride utilizes the omnimover system (same ride system as you find on Hunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, etc) and is shaped like a pirate ship. After the ride attendant sprinkles pixie dust to lower your lap bar, off you go! The ride takes you through familiar scenes from the Peter Pan film: the Darlings room, taking flight over London (breathtaking), past the lost boys, by mermaids, and then to see Peter and Hook fighting it out. I am a huge fan of the final scene with Tic-Toc in it! Be warned the ride is pretty brief, especially when compared to the ride times of other omnimover attractions. But that being said, this classic is everything Disney World was built on. A wonderful gem of history, safely preserved in The Most Magical Place on Earth, you're doing yourself a disservice is you miss this classic attraction. read more

You become airborne in a masted boat on this ride. Note: No jelly is served at anytime during the ride LOL. As you swoop in and out of various Peter Pan scenes, you lose sight of the fact you are an adult riding a child's ride and enjoying every minute of it. Hmmm. Is this what Disney intended? Partly because it goes back so far and resonates with Disney-fans, and also as it is a good ride for young kids, soaring (slowly) over the world of Peter Pan. When I was a kid, I didn't know how they did it. Now I see the ride is a bunch of rooms. There's a winding rail on the ceiling and you're in a boat that's hanging from the rail. It's still a pretty good ride (mainly because of how the boat swings from side to side), but I have to take off a star, because the boats aren't really flying. It's just a bunch of rooms! read more

I went on this ride partly because I like Peter Pan, mostly because I wanted to see why everyone waits an hour for it. We had the fast pass for this ride, so we only waited 5 minutes :). This is a must or wait an hour plus! My wife wasn't thrilled by the ride, but me being the kid I am loved it. Like my fellow reviewer Amy S. Stated, I just love that I get to fly. For this ride, your cart is a ship that you and up to two others sit in and fly from London to Neverland. You basically tour the progress of the movie. The detail on the streets of London is pretty good, and if you look closely you can see moving cars. We had extra time to spot these because the ride stopped as we were flying over London. I didn't complain :). It was a fun ride - I will never wait an hour for it, but if we get the fast pass again, I will enjoy the trip to Neverland again. read more

Nearly as good as the version in Disneyland - although both of these rides are quite different. The big bonus on the WDW version is the fact they have FastPasses - which are seriously a MUST with this attraction. Thanks to that feature, I was able to ride this several times on my trip here - as opposed to maybe once while at Disneyland. The ride itself is great - beautiful scenery, great music, lots of fun. It feels slightly longer that the DL version, but I may have imagined that. A must-ride while in the park! read more

For those that are nostalgic at heart (or traveling with little ones), flying with Peter Pan is a must do. Only if you have a Fast Pass. Waiting in line for 25 minutes (which we opted not to do) would make this a 2-star ride. It is classic Disney and while I agree the animatronics of this ride hold up slightly better than other Disney rides, I really wish they could do something to hide the 'noise' of all the moving parts. I'm sure as a kid, I never noticed. But as an adult I can't help but hear the squeaking in the background that ALMOST takes over the music. For me this is not a 'ride every visit' type ride, but if I catch it with no line or a fast pass every once in a blue moon, I wouldn't complain. read more

For someone who refuses to grow up, I was surprised that I was disappointed by this ride. I guess I do not know what I was expecting, but my experience was not it. It feels too rushed so you do not really feel as if you were accompanying Peter Pan, especially since with all the noise going off and events going on that you can see from your peripheral view, your instinct is to listen to everything and look at everything. I think that a slight slowing of the pace would have improved the experience considerably. I would suggest you skip Peter Pan's Flight. read more

When I was at Magic Kingdom, it baffled me how one of the oldest rides in the park consistently had some of the longest wait times, with standby riders patiently waiting up to two hours on the day I attended to experience Peter Pan's Flight. Having some extra time at the end of the day before a Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FastPass, we waited in the standby line to see if this attraction was truly worth the hype. FastPass is required for this ride due to the dynamics of the queue. Though the standby line might not be that long when you count the number of riders, the attendants give FastPass riders very high priority compared to all other attractions we rode, and only let a couple people from standby onto the ride every minute. If you ride standby, you'll probably find yourself in each of the (fairly small) rooms that make up the queue for 20-30 minutes per room. At least the queue was recently updated and actually has some cool interactive elements that should appeal to younger kids. As for adults, if you were one of those kids for whom a ten minute wait could feel like an eternity, waiting in this standby line is probably the best way to relive those feelings. As for the ride itself, it's a fairly traditional (and dare I say pedestrian) Disney-style dark ride, with the exception that the cars are suspended from a track in the ceiling. We rode almost all of the Omnimover rides at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and MGM Studios during our trip, and this one was easily the shortest ride as well. Given many people's nostalgia for their childhood WDW experience and their desire to pass that on to their kids, I can see why this ride may be popular. However, I'd say that if you're not willing to put up a FastPass for this ride, you're probably not in its target audience and it can easily be skipped.. read more
