There's something special about walking down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom that never gets old. As someone who grew up visiting Disneyland, I still prefer my hometown park because of its charm and intimate feel, but there's no denying how grand Magic Kingdom is. Everything feels bigger, more expansive, and somehow both familiar and completely different at the same time. I especially enjoyed attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run and Space Mountain, which add a little extra excitement to the day, and I'll never pass up a ride on the Tomorrowland PeopleMover. It's one of my favorite ways to slow down, take in the sights, and enjoy a few minutes off my feet. While Disneyland will probably always have my heart, Magic Kingdom offers its own kind of Disney magic that's absolutely worth experiencing.

Went on 4th of July weekend so it was definitely packed, but was worth it to see the smiles on the kids faces. The fireworks at night were phenomenal too they definitely put on a great show.

It was wonderful to return to Magic Kingdom! This is one of four Disney parks in Orlando, and it's a great one! I highly recommend splurging on a lightning lane premier pass. You can purchase this one week before your check-in date if you're staying at a Disney resort. It allows you to skip the line at every attraction at your leisure without needing a specific time window. Unfortunately, Big Thunder Mountain was still closed for refurbishment during our visit. However, we were able to experience the reimagined Splash Mountain now called Tiana's Bayou Adventure. The fun of the ride remains, but some of its personality has been lost. We always enjoy Space Mountain and the Seven Dwarves Mine train. Haunted Mansion is one of my favorites as well. There are limitless food and beverage options here, and the staff are consistently friendly. Don't miss Magic Kingdom on your Disney trip!

Another great night at the park. Got there around 8pm. We were able to ride Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, People Mover, and Tron. Unfortunately, they didn't have the new Annual Passholder popcorn bucket that was released that day (5/1/2026). Park as always was magical!

Another amazing visit, shutting down the park at 11p! It was cool to enter Main Street during the day and leave alongside the Electrical Parade. It's hard not to include this park during a Disney trip. It offers SO much and many of the crowd favorites: Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Tiana's Bayou, It's a Small World, Cinderella's Castle, and more! The Crystal Palace and Beauty & the Beast are popular eating destinations. We opted for quick service and followed advice from bloggers to eat at Pecos Bills with another snack stop at Pinocchio Village. Both were stellar choices. Even coming early and staying late, it's impossible to experience this park in only one day. Our kids are now much older and we agreed this park is certainly created for younger families. There's certain segments we no longer consider visiting because of that. If you're staying at a Disney resort, you likely will have a shuttle for transportation. For locals and drivers there's a parking lot. We were offsite and took an Uber to the Polynesian, later taking the monorail to the entrance.

This was our third and final park that we did in two days. To be honest, these parks are exhausting from so much walking, so I let the wife and kid go do the rides and sites while I just hung out in the park. I found a square that had an excellent candy store (Confectionaries) so that was fun. I bought some M&Ms with caramel inside which I did not even know existed. There was also a parade in the afternoon with some impressive floats. After the parade, I mustered enough energy to do the Aladdin ride with the kid, which was fun. The view of the Magic Castle is iconic, although I neglected to take a picture because I am sure that every other reviewer has already done so. The park is different from the others in Disney World in that it is more explicitly Disney themed. This is the park for kids. I did not see Mickey or Snow White or any of the Dwarfs, but then again I did not venture close to the castle. We planned to stay for the fireworks at night. They are spectacular. We saw them in 2025 and once you see them, you never forget. You have to grab a place to sit about 5pm for the 9pm show. However, we all were so tired that we just called it a day and took the bus back to our hotel to relax. I would say that this was my least favorite of the three parks, undoubtedly because I was tired, but also because it is the most overtly geared toward kids and not adults. However, the kid loved it and did not want to leave, so that is what it is important. If you have kids, you may want to start with this park first, the Animal Kingdom, then Epcot. Epcot is the most adult experience of the three.

Magic Kingdom is the park that Disney built its entire identity around, and it still delivers on that premise better than anything else in Orlando. I walked down Main Street USA toward Cinderella Castle for the first time, and that moment genuinely caught me off guard regardless of how many times I had seen photos of it. The atmosphere throughout the park was dense with detail, and the theming was consistent from land to land in a way that kept the immersion intact as I moved through the day. TRON Lightcycle Run is a newer ride. The launch and banking through the light cycle sequence made for a great experience for those who want the thrill of a coaster but not too intense. Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean are the two classic attractions that held up best for me as an adult, and they are worth experiencing regardless of how familiar you are with them. Space Mountain remains a reliable crowd pleaser, and Big Thunder Mountain is an easy yes for any group. The fireworks show over Cinderella Castle in the evening was the natural close to the day, and positioning myself well in advance was worth the effort. The view down Main Street with the castle as the backdrop is the definitive Magic Kingdom image, and it looked even better in person at night. Wait times and cost are the two factors that required the most planning. Lightning Lane was worth the added expense to maximize the number of attractions I got through in a day.

My family and friends visited this place for all of four hours later in the evening, as we were busy with other school functions during the day and the afternoon. As a result, we visited the entire park before it closed, and we had to leave. From what we saw and experienced, this place is just as crowded and popular as Disneyland in California. Despite the 32-degree weather the night our group visited the park, there were thousands of other bundled-up guests as well. The parking lot at the park entrance is quite a way away. You can either walk the entire distance or take a ferry across the water, which is what my group chose to do. Once inside, it was time for pictures, video, and fun. Did I mention that it was COLD!! Wow! It was actually freezing. We had enough time to see the rides, but we did not board a single one as the lines were too long. We were able to grab dinner, but had to wait a very long time to place our order. No complaints whatsoever from me about visiting huge amusement parks; long lines are to be expected. We were able to watch the fireworks show, which accompanied Disney-themed movies and played throughout the entire park. The fireworks were AMAZING!! Shortly thereafter, the park was about to close, and guests were seen walking to the front of the park to the gift shops, which were now super crowded. This being my first visit to Florida, I had to buy a few items for myself and family members back home in LA, including anything Magic Kingdom-related. Overall, our experience was positive and fun. Despite having had to visit the park for mere hours, we had a great time.

We had a magical day. We arrived around 10:30 and took in many rides and shows. Pirates of the Caribbean was a family favorite. We ate at Pinocchio Village Haus and we had chicken fingers, fries, and a flatbread. There are great shops throughout and lots to see. We ended the night with the electric parade & it was amazing. Thank you, Disney! xoxo Mathias Family

Entrance to Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista (Orlando), Florida.

Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World is one of the most popular theme parks in the world. Originally opened on October 1, 1971, it was the only park at Disney World until the second park, EPCOT, opened exactly 11 years later on October 1, 1982. It's showing its age in certain places, but it is still as magical and charming today as it was when I first visited as a kid circa 1989-1990. Today, there are four theme parks at Disney World: 1. Magic Kingdom (1971) 2. EPCOT (1982) 3. Disney's Hollywood Studios (1989) 4. Disney's Animal Kingdom (1998) EPCOT is my personal favorite, but there's no denying Magic Kingdom's appeal. It's home to the iconic Cinderella Castle and six themed lands: 1. Main Street, U.S.A. 2. Adventureland 3. Frontierland 4. Liberty Square 5. Fantasyland 6. Tomorrowland Of these lands, Tomorrowland is probably my favorite. I love its retro-futuristic aesthetic and have great memories of it both as a child (on the Tomorrowland Speedway) and as an adult (on the PeopleMover and in the Carousel of Progress). Here are my Top 10 experiences at Magic Kingdom: 1. Haunted Mansion 2. Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover 3. Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress 4. Peter Pan's Flight 5. Pirates of the Caribbean 6. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (great event) 7. "it's a small world" 8. Cinderella Castle (mosaics inside are a must-see) 9. Country Bear Musical Jamboree 10. The Beak and Barrel (new pirate lounge as of 2025) I went on Space Mountain as a kid and don't remember liking it, probably because I don't like roller coasters. Same goes for the old Splash Mountain, which is now Tiana's Bayou Adventure. I do want to try TRON Lightcycle / Run next time, though. Tip: Get the Lightning Lane passes and one of the PhotoPass Service's Memory Maker packages. They are worth it to save time and capture the memories.

Let's be serious.. how can this not be the MOST MAGICAL PLACE ON EARTH?! I 100% Bethany everyone should experience Disney ATLEAST once in their life. Me on the other hand.. every few weeks/months lol we can't get enough. There's always something new going on as well as keeping it traditional/original .. from a regular day here to a special event/holiday. You absolutely cannot be disappointed.

Night parade of lights - Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away
    Hank C.

Adding differences compared to a prior review - this time, Christmas, and they had a new parade, the Starlight Dream the Night Away parade, a lights focused evening parade with floats, some of your favorite characters (Elsa of course very popular on her float) and Mickey/Minnie bringing up the last float. Is it worth staying late for? They did this parade twice (once before, once after the fireworks show) while we were there, and while I would say it's not as exciting as their enchantment parade was with the fire-breathing dragon, it's a nice touch (assuming the kids aren't crazy grumpy by then). Prices are up a touch for entry, but the in-park pricing for food hasn't gone up too much. Still love the turkey legs (Prince Eric's Village as well as the Liberty Square stall) and the Aloha Isle. A lot of rides my little one has outgrown (along with visits with the characters) so it was more about the rides. Tron, btw - long ride wait outside, and not a lot of shade at points means bring an umbrella if you can... was a killer waiting in the sun, sapped all the energy. The last bit where you see them launch was cool. But the ride itself was a lot shorter and ended abruptly story-wise, felt like it could've used another loop or so. Not necessarily worth the wait, in my opinion, but the night view of the ride looked great. Think of it as Space Mountain leaning on Tron cycles and a little more light inside the dark areas. Much preferred waiting on the little car ride in Tomorrowland and grabbing some snacks, the train didn't stop at Frontierland (under construction) so a long walk around the park depending on where you wanted to go. One big pro - the v1 generation of magic bands (no battery) still work fine at the park - love that they keep it b/c the new bands aren't nearly as nice (or cheap!)

What is the regular hours when there's no events?

The hours are different week to week month to month depending on the season depending on ticket sales You have to check the Disney website that's where you would find the answer They're not the same year round

Why are guests getting access to the lightning lanes? Genie plus has not started yet

Although Genie Plus has not officially launched, they can have a rider swap setup, which allows them to use that lane. Also if someone in a group, has a some type medical or disability they can also have access to this lane

Can I purchase tickets at the gate?

Possibly but you will also need a reservation. You need both a ticket and reservation for the day.

Do they notice if you have your mask off on a ride?

Yes, they're always watching and take their mask policy seriously. If you can't keep it on they will escort you out and possibly trespass you, meaning you won't be allowed back. Just wear the mask 😷

Any tips before my trip? I have a 3 and a 5 year old. Would I have to book for them to just take picture with the characters and princesses?

The pricing is ridiculous, as are all things Disney, but if you do the $169 Memory Maker you'll get to take as many photos as you want anywhere you see any Disney photographer, including at all the princess / character stations, and then download…

What's the weather like in November for Disney travel?

It’s usually nice during the day ( been there when it was in the low to mid 80’s) and need for a light jacket/sweatshirt at night.

    How much are fast passes?

They don't charge for them. You just have to sign up on the Disney app or at a kiosk.

Thanks for all the feedback. We are thinking of staying at coco keys on international drive. I'm not sure if they have shuttle service to Disney. Can anyone recommend any places to stay for a family of 3. It will be me my husband and our 4 yr old !?

Beyond staying on property? There are some great hotels that are kind-of-sort-of on property at Disney Springs that we've enjoyed in the past. I believe they have shuttle service to the parks for hotel guests. (They did last time we stayed there).

I don't drive I was wondering if Uber is an option to get to the parking area for Disney magic kingdom?

Yes Uber is a possibility, there are areas for drop off and pick up at each of the parks near the entrance. Since I don't know where you are staying some nearby resorts have shuttles to the parks. As well as Disney transportation to and from Orlando…

    How is it like?

Joe, it's a wonderful , clean and fun place that will have you saying "wow " over and over. The magic kingdom is truly magic all day and night every day of the year! I hope…

What happen to Gaston pork shank?

    Discontinued.

How much is parking for the day?

$20 for parking if you drive your own car. Take an Uber! $14 for 5 of us!

Ariel looks weird, mainly in the face…read more While I still enjoyed this ride and thought it was fun, the overall quality of the animatronics was a step below most other rides at Disney World. I thought maybe that was because this ride opened around the same time as the movie in 1989. However, I was a bit surprised to learn after the fact that this ride actually opened 23 years after the movie, in late 2012. On the ride, you board clamshells that take you on an adventure under the sea. Pretty much all the characters from the movie make an appearance and the ride is filled with Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's popular songs like "Part of Your World," "Under the Sea," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," and "Kiss the Girl." The "Under the Sea" song and dance segment is bright and colorful. It reminds me of going to E.T.'s planet in the E.T. Adventure ride at Universal Studios. It's a festive party; both rides have that neon-colored, crowded "creature party" aesthetic. During our visit, the animatronic Ariel in this section was broken and inanimate. Kind of funny and creepy. During the "Kiss the Girl" segment, the plastic water coming out of the fishes' mouths didn't look great. It added to the overall sort of "knock-off" and kitschy look of the ride. Also, right before the end of the final scene with King Triton and the wedding of Ariel and Eric, the ride stopped on us. So, I was able to get a good, long look at the different animatronics and scenery. Finally, I thought the transitions between the high-quality video and the actual practical physical ride props were a bit jarring. Other rides do it better like, for example, the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros at EPCOT. We had Lightning Lane passes at around 1:47 PM on a non-holiday Monday and experienced no line and no wait.

The tower is not accessible for entry, however, the outside of the tower has been detailed extremely well. The tower appears as though it could have easily come right out of the film. At daylight hours, the tower is quite nice. However, when evening arrives with lights like the lanterns from the movie, the entire atmosphere changes and becomes much more immersive! Although this area contains themed restrooms, there is no indication that they are bathrooms! This is not your average restroom stop in Magic Kingdom though! There are details throughout the area including Pascal hiding within some of the design elements, wanted posters of Flynn Rider and many other small details to give off the idea that this is essentially a mini Tangled town. I was happy about this being a slightly less crowded area of Fantasyland as well. It is nice to be able to step back and stop for a moment to capture some photos and take a quick rest from the crowds. Unlike many of the rides surrounding this area, there isn't always a huge crowd of people here! It is definitely worth stopping by especially at night. There are so much details to Rapunzel's tower!

Many many years ago there was a sky way gondola ride that went from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland...basically from Carousel of Progress to It's a Small World. The area that is now the village & tower (AKA Bathrooms) are now located where the abandoned Fantasyland station closed and was disguised by trees for at least 15 years. Now, to save the day and turn this area that became a stroller parking lot, no seriously...it was a parking lot of strollers w/ an attendant, I kid you not. This area became very narrow and there are nowhere near enough bathrooms at WDW in general, but that's a whole other topic. Point being is that they knocked down that old building and cleared way for increased traffic flow, added toilet facilities AND add additional theming to Fantasyland expansion. Originally it's said that the tower was going not be to be forced perspective, but rather a "real life" full size tower. The execution of the overall area is really done just how you would expect it to be: perfectly themed and artistically on point. I love the wanted posters and if you look for an employee doorway at to the right of the ladies room you'll find a very serious Maximus greeting you! I love it. Why not 5 stars? Well, because it's bathrooms and planters and a cool tower. If there was a bit more use for the area, other than 1 and 2, then it would be five star with an attraction, show or character meet & greet area. I really do like this addition. Rapunzel was a big movie with my girls when they were younger and Ive a soft heart for it. Its a cool area that I look forward to seeing develop over the next few years. Go here for Line Drop when you can, only waited surprisingly 35 min and it went by pretty quick! I heard the hype about Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and was definitely worried as going to try this ride without the Lightning Pass would be a bad idea. But turns out even though coming into the park around 930, the wait was only 35 minutes? Perhaps I was lucky or everyone was bolting to Tron but the wait went by really quick and was glad to not need to buy the lightning pass. The setting is nice and for the kids, they won't get too bored waiting as there's Snow White Decor everywhere to keep them occupied. Ride quality was very close in my opinion to Thunder Mountain with the wooden roller coaster ride (except without the rumbling of Thunder Mountain we all know of) and the length was about right for a medium roller coaster. Would I wait this line again for this ride? Not a problem with me and I'll definitely keep this ride as one of my many go-tos when visiting Magic Kingdom.

It's not a ride, it's a memory machine. The ride itself is short--just a couple minutes of glowing sets and twinkling lights--but it's pure magic. Flying over the tiny London streets, drifting into Neverland, seeing Captain Hook run for his life--it's as close as you'll ever get to feeling like Disney bottled childhood. It's the ride that proves nostalgia doesn't need G-forces. The problem? The line. Always long. Always. Doesn't matter if it's rope drop, midnight, or during a hurricane--you're looking at 60 minutes minimum. This is the only ride where the wait time is longer than Peter's attention span. You'll stand there for an hour for a ride that lasts three minutes, and you'll still walk out smiling like a fool. A little history flex: Peter Pan's Flight was one of Disneyland's original 1955 rides, imported to Disney World in 1971. Back then, Imagineers wanted you to "be" Peter Pan, which is why Peter wasn't even in the ride originally. Guests were confused, so they added him later. Translation: people waited an hour just to wonder where the main character was. The line is longer than Wendy's bedtime story. Peter Pan's Flight is short, simple, and still one of the most magical rides in Disney history. The line is brutal, the payoff is quick, but the memory sticks with you forever. Because in the end, everyone grows up--except this ride, and that's exactly why we love it.

The ride goes inside and out--you'll go through Space Mountain and also see Cinderella Castle, the Tomorrowland Speedway, and the retro-futuristic Astro Orbiter (to name a few attractions). I love the 1920s and 30s pulp science fiction and 1960s Space Age look (Googie architecture) of Tomorrowland. The PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom opened in 1975 (four years after the park opened) and includes a model of Progress City, Walt Disney's vision for EPCOT in the 1960s. The PeopleMover actually stopped on us when we were next to the diorama of Progress City, so I got to look at it for a while. I found the seats in the vehicles to be quite comfortable with good lower back support. There was no Lightning Lane for the PeopleMover. On a non-holiday Monday around 4:00 PM, the line was long. We waited about 10-15 minutes, which felt like a long time since we had been using Lightning Lanes for most of our recent trip to Disney World. This is the only Disney PeopleMover still in operation. I hope it never closes. The PeopleMover in Tomorrowland at Disneyland (California) opened in 1967 and closed in 1995.
