Writing this review as I sit and wait. I was referred here by Tricare, but if I had the option I would never have even bothered. I made the appointment two weeks ago via phone for 1230. I showed up at 1235 (stuff happens) and no one said anything to me at the front desk. I had to get the attention of the lady in front to help me. She said to sign in and fill out some paperwork after I finally got her attention. Paperwork was done, then I sat on the lobby for an entire hour. Now I'm in an exam room and have also been in here for an hour. It's not like I have a job or anything to get back to. This wait time is completely unacceptable and I will be taking my referral elsewhere. Absolutely ZERO regard for their patient's time and I can imagine the type of care that patients are actually getting. 10/10 do not recommend based on this experience alone. read more

ZERO stars. Mind blowing experience in the complete negative way. Went with my son for a head to toe routine skin check. Had to wait over 3 hours. Once my son was put in the exam room the doctor was called out by another employee to discuss the electric bill. 1 hour later still no return. The exam door was open and you could see the doctor going back and forth to rooms. (not my sons) Gets to my sons room and by now i have to leave. Tells my son to get undressed for the head to toe assessment. After he completes the top 1/2 he tells him he will do the bottom 1/2 on the next visit. Told my son he has 3 spots that need to be excised and he will have to do them at 3 different appointments and 3 different charges of $400 each plus pathology fees. He will also have to pay for for another visit for the bottom 1/2 of the exam. My son is self pay and had called in advanced to ask how much for a self pay head to toe derm exam. My son was told $189. When my son went to pay they charged hum $199 and stated that's what he will be charged for the 2nd part of the exam as well. My son brought me the receipt and I lost my mind. I called the office this morning and didn't give any information just asked the lady who answered the phone how much it wold be for a self pay "head to toe skin assessment. "She stated $189. Then I told her who I was and why I was calling and if it is standard practice there to perform 1/2 the exam and charge over the the price of a full exam? She told me to call back in 2 hours and speak to the nurse. I called back to speak to the nurse. Explained the situation. She became angry when I asked if it was standard practice there to do that to their patients to incur more charges. She became very angry and loudly stated your son is an adult and I don't have authorization to discuss his medical file with you. So i said hypothetically speaking I go in to your office and and re -stated the whole scenario. She got louder and yelled your son was seen and there is documentation of 1,2,3, etc 8 things on his exam that were documented. I said but all upper body nothing lower. She said yes. I said so why did he get charged for a full assessment. She stated I wasn't there "That's between him and the doctor." I told her it is now between the doctor, my son, I and the credit card company because it is a fraudulent charge. You charged him for full and only 1/2 was done. She said "your lucky you weren't charged $389 because that is the price. I told her that is a false statement I called earlier and asked and was told $189. Same as my son was told over the phone when he called to set up the appointment. Then she really screamed. Passed the phone to the secretary and I asked her why she told me it was $189. She told me I was lying and never asked her that. I asked her if it was her I had spoken to this morning and she said yes. I told her I asked the price for a "head to toe derm assessment. "She said no you asked me for an initial assessment. I said I would never have said that i am an RN and I use the verbiage "head to toe" and it wouldn't have asked for a initial assessment because he is an established patient there. She told me I was a liar. I told her I was going to dispute the charge as a fraudulent charge because it is fraud. She screamed I don't even know why Im arguing with you, you are nothing and don't matter. Hung up! Wow! There is now and investigation with the charge. I'll pay, but for what was done. Not what was 1/2 done. Im not going to Mc Donald's ordering a full meal and just get the burger and agree to pay the full meal. Why would any service be any different. On top of that to tell my son he has to come back 3 separate times for each spot to be removed at $400 a piece. and a 3-4 hour wait. What??? If you need to make an appointment with Dr Peter Herman, make sure you clear your schedule for at least 3 hours just in case. They get really busy and can take a loong time with each patient. Prepare yourself with a book or downloaded movie to watch to pass the time. Also don't get mad at the staff, it's not their fault and they are trying their hardest to get Dr Herman from patient to patient as quickly as possible for him! The dr did nothing except tell me I would have to pay more money in addition to my insurance before he could handle my issue. By that time I had already made up my mind that I would not be back because I was afraid. When I visited him my appointment was at 1 pm and was seen at 4 pm. The office looked pretty empty, with few to no patients. It's only understanding that no one likes to be sitting in the waiting area for that long just to get taken to the back. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Do not waste your time. This is basically a walk in clinic that gives you an appointment time to show up. I had a 1:15 appointment & when I walked in there was about 12 people in the waiting room. I signed in and the front desk employee didn't say a word to more or have me fill out paperwork. After an hour I asked her how long the wait will be. She then asked if I had signed in.... Yes ma'am I did about an hour ago. She looks at the list and tells me there's 7 people in front of me and the wait could be up to 3 hours. I left and didn't see the doctor. I sought Dr. Herman's help after I contracted a severe rash from work. I had initially gone to the ER in El Paso, but then made an appointment with the Doctor for a few days later. Dr. Herman quickly diagnosed the condition and prescribed medication, including an injection. Within hours I was feeling much better, and the rash resolved for the most part with the medications. I every wish every problem I had would resolve as quickly and readily as this rash under Dr. Herman's treatment. read more

Where to start. My appointment was 1230 got there 1220 waited two hours to be sat in a room to wait more. Dr finally comes in literally is in my face i had to step back he tells me he sees issue with my skin put a note book of papers on the bed told me to fill it out and told me he had to do something else then left. Then i hear him speaking about a paitent in room 1 who we all know now gets botocs. Then the doctor continues to paige a nurse to room 2 the nurse doesnt go. Then over the intercome in THE WHOLE OFFICE starts talking to the patient in room 2 about her moles and warts and how they are common but not normal like that was the last straw i grabbed my stuff and left and then the lady at the front tells me she doesnt know why that doctor is taking so long that if i get an appt in the morning before 10 i will actually be seen faster then as if i get an afternoon appt where i will have to wait hours. Shame on me for not consulting with Yelp prior to visiting this office. I always do this before eating at restaurants, why wouldn't I do it with a physician?!? Where do I begin? After waiting for two hours in the waiting room, and yes, I had a specific appointment time, I was then told I could not be seen because I did not bring my insurance card with me. After explaining to them that my insurance information was taken over the phone, and that I was never informed to bring my card with me, AND that I had just spent two hours in their waiting room, they were very cold and quick to suggest that I use my own personal credit card, otherwise I would not be seen. Now I know why. Not only did they take my form of payment via credit card, they also submitted my claim to the insurance and got paid that way. One month later, after incessant calling, I still have not received my check in the mail, or even a call back from their offices. BBB here I come. As far as the visit goes, there were people (secretaries and nurses) in and out of my exam room without bothering to knock or say excuse me...needless to say, it was very intrusive and rude. The secretary who checked me in at the beginning of my visit ended up taking my medical history, yeah, I know, and then I waited another 15-20 minutes in the exam room for the doctor that was very brief and had outdated dermatological methods (who uses compounds anymore?). It appeared to me that this agency/company has ulterior motives, and not the patients best interest in mind, as the majority of cleansers and medication they prescribe are only sold in-house and not in pharmacies. Further, they STRONGLY suggested that I only use a specific pharmacy. Can we say kickback? Lastly, not all of my concerns were addressed, yet the "doctor" was quick to bring up other cosmetic issues that he stated could be addressed in further visits. Not HIPPA compliant, the doctor left the speaker on from another room and you could hear everything. Doctor tried selling me products up to 150 dollars for 4 items and also sent in a prescription for ivermectin that you could only get in Abilene. I don't wear makeup and he tried selling me a makeup acne product, he didn't listen. This place isn't woman friendly and doctor is stuck in his ways. I wish I had consulted reviews before my first appointment. I would give zero stars if I could. The only reason I've come back is because they already started my treatment. This is the worst experience I've ever had with respect to wait times. I'm currently in the main lobby and it's now 1 hour and 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. I've had a long wait time the prior two times but never like this. When I asked the receptionist if there was an issue or if this was normal, she very nonchalantly said this was normal. When I arrived, there were about 25 people waiting in the lobby, which seemed extreme for only 2 doctors. The other thing I do not like that has happened every time is that they really try to sell me cosmetic products I don't need and ones that don't work. It feels like I'm at a used car dealership instead of a doctor's office. The doc literally said "I recommend this product. Results are not guaranteed, though." In the state of Texas a physician needs to keep the patient record for a minimum of 7 years. I was last seen by Dr. Herman in 2014. Last week I called and went to the office to get my medical record. I would not recommend this doctor. I understand that going to the dr. is a tasking chore,but needed. I got there 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Almost 2 hours waiting, and people coming in the room asking if the dr. Had been here. I got up and started to leave. They told the dr. I wanted to go. He came in a rush to see me. I came to see Dr. Herman for what I suspected was rosacea. He was very thorough. My first visit consisted of looking at my face to ascertain if in fact it was rosacea (I had seen someone many years prior and was diagnosed with rosacea). I was prescribed an antibiotic along with a cream and antihistamine. I came back a month later and patches were put on my back to see if I was possibly allergic to common allergens---this was to rule out allergies. When I came back to have them removed, Dr. Herman explained that the results were negative for allergens. He prescribed a different antibiotic more suited to my condition, i.e., Oracea. Dr. Herman is very knowledgeable about rosacea. It's a chronic condition and I was in need of relief from the constant itchiness, redness, and pain on my face. I will see him again for a follow-up concerning the new antibiotic, Oracea, to make sure it's doing what it's supposed to do. I highly recommend Dr. Herman. He's pleasant, clear with his instructions, and insists on follow-ups to make sure what is prescribed is working. If you have rosacea, Dr. Herman is the doctor to see. read more

I scheduled my appointment for 12:45PM. I arrived at 12:30, because I like to be prompt and allow ample time to be comfortably situated at my appointments. When I first arrived, the receptionist started me off with paperwork that took less than 5 minutes to fill out. So far so good. The waiting room is fairly comfortable, with lots of reading material and a large tv to entertain you.. for a couple hours. I was finally called in at 3:40, where I was taken to another room and asked to fill out a questionnaire of sorts about my skin condition and habits. The lady who gave me the paperwork here was very sweet and had a good attitude, which was refreshing compared to the could-care-less demeanor of the other employees. Dr. Herman came in and was very nice, then got right down to business. He examined my skin and started explaining his treatment for my conditions. It was a lot of information to take in, but he made it very clear and invited me to ask the nurse questions if I had any concerns. He was with me for about 15-20 minutes, then left to be replaced by another nurse. She answered my questions and concerns promptly, provided instructions left by the doctor, and with that I was finished in less than an hour. He prescribed me around 7 products, 5 of which were to be purchased there. Price ranged from $30-$55. One of the products prescribed was a face wash that was made by this institution. Seeing that made me question the doctor's motives, not to say that it isn't a good product. TL;DR wait times are way too long, staff attitude is short of chipper (minus the doctor and a nurse); products prescribed can only be bought in-house read more

Dr Peter Herman is the best! All these doctors from the hospital telling me that the rash on my left leg was something called cellulitis but my cardiologist advised me to see a dermatologist. I went with Dr Herman he examined my leg, prescribed me medication and I'm cured. Dr Herman is very patient and courteous including the staff. read more

Very good doctor and nice staff except for the billing lady. He will take his time with you as long as you give him the respect of waiting for him to chart your conditions carefully. I would recommend him to anyone. Many people complain about the wait times but that's because he has a busy practice and gives each patient his best. My daughter saw Dr. Peter Herman to have a mole removed on 4/11//18. She was charged $578.95. She should not have been charged at all as our deductible had been met. The contracted amount with UHC is $319.77. They have not refunded my money. I've called, sent email and written letters and they are all ignored. They have given too many excuses to list here as to why they can't talk to me. I've either just missed the Office Manager, or the OM will be in tomorrow.... Last week I called the office and was told the Doctor and OM wouldn't be in until Monday 7/9. I called on Thursday 7/5 and was told the Dr. would be in all day on Friday 7/6 and the OM would be in at 2:00. I called UHC so they could talk to the OM. They called and were told no one would be available until Monday 7/9. I called back a few minutes later and the OM was in. I spoke to Angie and she talked to the OM and I was told the OM was reviewing my account and would call me on Monday. Did not receive a phone call. I was promised a letter in mid May that I'm still waiting for. My daughter saw the Dr. twice and she waited 2.5 hours to be seen each time. She made, what she was told, the first appointment of the day at 8:30 AM and she still waited 2.5 hours. They don't really make appointments as much as they make appointments to come in and sign in and then take patients on a first come, first served basis. The Dr. saw her and recommended a biopsy be done, but he couldn't do it at that appointment because, "he only does that procedure on Thursdays." She went back to have the mole biopsy done and now they won't give her the biopsy results unless she makes still another appointment. Buyer beware. read more

1st and foremost this Dermatologist was very unprofessional at today's appointment for my wife. Yesterday they called my wife asking her that the doctor wanted and needed to see her to discuss the laboratory results of her Biopsy taken Oct 11th 2017. They made both my wife and me very stressed as we presumed the worse! Why because my wife has already called requesting all future appointments cancelled due to the improper request that they made us do by telling us we needed to take my wife's biopsy to the laboratory. At the time I was suspicious of this but I went along. We went on a fools errand wasting time and gas as they sent us to a facility that did not exist which they blamed on my wife's primary physician. We called her PCP that same day verified that they did not provide that address to Doctor Herman. Upon searching and finding out it did not exist we went back to Doctor Herman office on Mesa I walked in placed the sample on the counter and stated to the receptionist here is my wife's sample you sent us to a place that does not exist and I don't appreciate doing your job! I then left and left an accurate review reflecting the extended wait time, witnessing patient calls being placed on hold and not responding and then the latter. Now comes the horrible unethical details of what occurred today. Once called in about 45 minutes late Doctor Herman walked in said his pleasantries identified me as her Husband taking time to write it in his notes. I and my wife were anxious as per the receptionist call yesterday we felt something bad was about to occur with some very bad news about the results! Doctor Herman proceeds to read her chart and then the laboratory results which he narrates the outcome is good its a negative result which is great but then I wonder why the urgency? I and my wife would soon find out. After he narrates the wound care and requests for another mole removal and finishes with my wife which normally conclude the visit, he turns to me and stated what you did was bad very bad! Catching me by surprise! He then states the review you made is bad and will cost me patients! He was upset. He now starts walking towards me and reiterates it was bad. I stated it was the truth. He then states that the reason the biopsy sample was required to be taken by us to the laboratory was because of Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance as they required it because they BCBS had a contract with the lab. I asked him why did they not state that on Oct 11th, he said we did, I looked over at my wife who was trying to answer but Doctor Herman interrupted her stating he advised her and so did the office worker which was a lie! A flat out lie and he was calling my wife a lier! I was fuming that not only was he physically confronting me by being so close to me he was now defaming my wife so I got up from the stool and said Fu#k You and departed. He then told my wife she should be ashamed of me. Well Doctor you should be ashamed of being a jerk and unprofessional unethical doctor. You should never had contacted my wife and made her to believe something wrong was possible with her results as a ruse to confront me on a bad truthful review. You should be ashamed of yourself for not asking your patient how these issues could be resolved! You should be ashamed of yourself for lying about the BCBS insurance requirements as I called them to verify that requirement which is of course not true! They stated they never require patients to transport biobsys to the testing laboratories! You should be ashamed of not actually conducting yourself and your receptionist staff professionally by asking them to deceive patient's! I've contacted the TCEQ to verify is patients are allowed to be carrying samples to laboratories! I'm submitting a formal inquiry to BCBS on your false statement of the so called requirement. The fact that you made a patient worry about her medical future stressing her so she was unable to sleep is unethical and very very unprofessional! I will also be contacting the American Medical Association to advise them of your disrespectful unprofessional and unethical practices directed at my wife and I. I sincerely wished there was a minus star rating as you so deserve it! We have contacted a new Dermatologist as we will never tolerate such treatment. I advise other patients who have been made to take their samples to laboratories to please contact me or the TCEQ and report it. Needless to say my PTSD symptoms are bad today as I tremble writing this review hoping no one else is ever treated as we were. I had an appointment and after waiting for 1hr 45min, the female receptionist told me that I would be seen in the next few minutes until 12 mins passed, I was put in an office and told to "take a seat (instead of have a seat)." Receptionist stated the reason being for the long wait was because of only one doctor being available. I asked to reschedule when both doctors would be available to prevent any delays, but receptionist suggested to arrive 2 days later and wait outside(like a dog) at 8:30 am, when I would be one of the first patients to be seen, but not guaranteed to be seen in a timely manner. I did have to wait but after seeing the Dr. I understood why. He took all the time with me, was very professional, answered all my questions and resolved my skin problems. If you have Medicare and a supplemental policy, this doctor will require you to pay the portion not covered by Medicare at the end of your visit even if you have supplemental coverage. In one case my family member was asked to pay significantly more than what Medicare did not pay which is in violation of their contract with Medicare. They file claims with Medicare and the Supplemental showing the patient paid zero so they can insure themselves of receiving the insurance payments even though the patient already paid them directly. You will have to call their office to get reimbursement and they did not reimburse in full. Their bookkeeper blames it on the government and won't return phone calls. Their office manager won't accept phone calls nor return them. We are still waiting on full reimbursements from visits in February and April. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

After arriving at 11:25 AM and signing in for my 11:30 AM appointment, I waited forty minutes when I overheard another patient indicate to the receptionist that the patient had been waiting for 1 hour and 55 minutes to be seen. Concerned, I asked the receptionist how long it might be before I would be seen. The receptionist indicated that it would be an additional 1 hour and 15 minutes. I then asked the receptionist why she did not inform me about the wait when I first signed in. The receptionist very rudely said to me "you mean, why didn't you ask how long it would be?" and then proceeded to tell me that it was my responsibility to ask how long the wait would be.
