Okay I got the legs done on five suit pants. I paid for the waist to be taken in. I used to do import and export with cloths. It did not happen. Ignore my past review about doing more than the leg. The search continues as I give speeches and do business and have more suits that need tailored. These ones I thought done need what I thought was done. The money spent does not bother me. Time is the concern for me. I just lost a lot of time and now more. read more

I came in nine days before my wedding to have my dress altered and T was so helpful and kind. She worked with me to get the right look. I thought the cups that David's Bridal alterations should be removed, but she said my dress was so delicate that she didn't want to remove them and instead suggested that the shoulders be taken up. That did the trick and it looked much better! Best part was the cost and it was ready three days before my wedding! I highly recommend Peter's for alterations. read more

Peter has done good work for me in the past, but I was very disappointed in our most recent dealings. I needed to have a new lining put in a sports jacket. I dropped the jacket off on June 10, 2023 (I wrote it down), and one of his staff told me it would be done by July 19. No problem. When I hadn't heard by Aug. 10, though, I called back; Peter himself said it would be done by the next week. It wasn't. Then it wasn't by the next date he said it would be, either. Call after call, week after week, and still it wasn't done (he even said that many of his customers wait three months for him to do tailoring work, which I found hard to believe). On Sept. 15, he gave me his word that it would be ready by Sept. 18. It wasn't. On Oct. 6, he AGAIN gave me his word that it would be ready, this time in two weeks. Guess what: yet again, it wasn't. I'd finally had enough, and took the torn-apart and still-unfinished jacket home with me. Peter refunded my money but I then had to pay another tailor to do the job; she told me his incomplete re-lining work was so poor that she had to tear it out and start all over again. That's the last time I will ever go to Peter's Tailor Shop. read more

Absolutely fantastic experience. I arrived into town for a wedding and received my outfit, only to realize it was a poor fit. I called Peter the day before and asked if it was even possible to get it done in 1 day. He not only agreed, but barely even charged for the overnight rush. He was also very funny and great to chat with while he was taking measurements. It was done on time and fit so well I was asked several times during the wedding if it was custom made. I've already recommended him to all my Cleveland friends. I only regret that I've gotta fly home and he can't be my regular tailor. read more

I had a last minute tailoring job that needed to be done. A button on my pants had fallen off the morning I was to wear them. I brought them into the shop and I was quickly welcomed by the staff. They recognized my woeful disposition and helped me out. They fixed my button and only charged me a portion of the fee. I will come back to them! read more

Peter's shop is hit or miss. I can only give one star this time due to three factors. First, the store is packed to the rafters with suits; it is almost a maze to find a dressing room. So, from an esthetics stand point I have to dock them one star. Second, I wasn't in a rush for my alterations so, I let them tell me when my garments would be ready. I stopped in mid day on the due date and my stuff was still in work. I stopped back the next day only to find all four suits needed to be re-worked; especially the pants because there was some miscommunication between what was chalked at fitting and what was ultimately altered, I now had flood pants. After marking the jackets and pants for re-work I again let them set the schedule. So, missed deadline and rework equals one and half stars reduction. They lose another one and half stars because I stopped in at the end of the day on the new due date and one suit still needed to be pressed so it really was't done on time. Lastly, due to the rework all four pants have very little material remaining for the hem. It is obvious that one pair was initially cut extremely short and it was barely salvaged during the re-work. This alone was enough for me to rate them one star yesterday, but I waited a day before writing this review. I really wish I had a better experience this time because Peter's prices are reasonable and when they are on their game their work can make you look great. They ask for payment in advance of service. I would recommend giving them half in advance and half on completion to keep the scales of commerce balanced in case you have an experience like mine. read more

Anytime Ive come here for for last 12 years I always see Anne/Annie and she knows what's she's talking about. she also makes suggestions to the alterations if you'd be unhappy with the outcome feel or appearance. I think they're great and execute things in a timely and reasonably priced fashion. There may be a wait but that's a good sign and they are worth every penny! Go see Annie! read more

I took my last minute Amazon wedding dress purchase into Peters needing it taken in and hemmed. They were very nice and even though the dress was a cheapie I purchased for my elopement they treated it like it was an expensive designer gown. They only took 3-4 days to finish and it looks great! If there was a way to write a review of lower than 1 star I would. I dropped off a pair of pants in early June for what should have been a simple repair. I was told it would take 3 weeks to fix because they were backlogged with work and did not have enough staff. Three weeks later, the job was still not done and I was told it might be ANOTHER three weeks. Folks, this wasn't a complex job: a small tear near the in-seam that needed a patch and sew. After another two weeks past the original due date I stopped by the shop to find out what was going on. I found a business in complete disarray with incomplete work scattered all around the shop. My pants were found in a pile with other clothes with the inseams completely removed! They kept saying they could get it done but week after week they said it was still not complete. Finally, I asked for my item and my money back and they said they would have the pants ready the next day. I got pants back that were patched in an unusual and bizarre manner. When I wore the pants today, the inseam had not been closed properly and now there's a new hole! I have rarely had service this bad and this unreliable. I understand that this shop has been around for a long time and good reviews were posted by others. I will never go back and would advise anyone that they not go to this business. read more

I love this place. They're quick and everyone there is very accommodating. They have my business for life!

I have used this shop twice now and both times the service that I received went beyond my expectations in a very good way. The owner, Peter, worked his "magic" each time. I was missing a zipper on a hoodie in July 2021 and after leaving the hoodie in the shop for 5 weeks to allow them enough time to find a zipper that would fit, I returned to find the hoodie was still not completed yet and was buried underneath a bunch of other clothes. At that time, Peter stopped with what he was currently working on, found me a comparable zipper within minutes, and then affixed it to my hoodie within 5 minutes. He told me there would be no charge since I waited way too long than necessary... Most recently, on Friday, 1/21/22, I walked into the shop at 4:45pm. They were closing at 6pm. One of the female employees walked up to assist me and I asked if Peter was there. She stated that he was and then led me to the back where he was sitting and currently working on another garment. I showed him an approximate 2 inch tear on the back of my faux leather jacket at the seam(apparently where the stitches unraveled). He immediately put aside the pants that he was working on, and not only repaired the tear in the back but also found another area on the jacket that required better stitching. He spent about 30 minutes on that day chatting with me while repairing my jacket. He handed over my jacket and at first, did not want any payment, but I wanted to pay him for his time and efforts. He then said just give him $10. I was very happy to give him the $10 because I was expecting a charge of at least in the $20 to $30 range. Furthermore, I did not expect same day service but that's exactly what I received. He and his shop have been in business since 1959 at the same location, and it is quite evident that he truly values his customers and his reputation. I live in Lakewood now and still drive all the way to Peter's to get my alterations done. I have never had an issues. I noticed their are customers that have been going to Peter's for YEARS. They will work with you if you are in a bit of a time crunch. They also will give me reasonable expectations and suggestions to make it look better. read more
