I recently needed alterations on a designer dress. I was nervous about taking it anywhere in case it got ruined. I found Hedi's on Yelp, and was able to take my dress in the next day. Robina is excellent. She is all business. You can tell immediately how skilled and advanced her expertise is. She runs a tight operation and does not miss a beat, even with coordinated racks of men's and and women's wear going out constantly. She was patient with me during my first tailoring experience, and even had a bit of a humor, which I really appreciated. I won't hesitate to trust Robina with my wardrobe again. If you want/need QUALITY alterations, this is the place. I have had numerous pants, vests and many suit jackets fitted and Robina is the person that knows what is needed for precise fit and comfort. Mens suit jackets are often times not easily tailored and when I seached the few places that offered this service, the prices were steep. Very unfriendly ladies at the shop. Over priced and did not feel welcome at all. I had a few questions and they seemed very annoyed to answer them. I wanted a ring type apparatus on my zipper head for my coat that they replaced. They acted like I was a big bother and had no clue what I meant. Some coat zippers have a little metal piece hanging to help you zip the zipper. Just not a friendly bunch in there. read more

Couldn't be happier with the work. I needed to shorten a pair of jeans and khakis. She took time to fit me and mark them in both. She hemmed the jeans without cutting them, which is very sharp - she could let them back out if they didn't fit right. Good news is her fitting was perfect. The jeans and khakis fit just right. Hedi's was a lifesaver! I was having a bridesmaid dress emergency, as another alterations company did not ensure my dress fit properly in all places, and I was running out of time to make the dang thing fit. It was a Monday when I had this dilemma...wedding was on Friday, but I needed the dress by early Thursday afternoon. Hedi's not only got the dress done in time, but there was plenty of time to spare. They also had me come in for a fitting after they started alterations to make sure I was happy with everything (unlike the other alterations company I used). She did a beautiful job and it was super easy for me. Just visiting the area for a month. I desperately needed alterations to a bridesmaid dress with a VERY quick turn around time. I stumbled upon Hedi's Alterations via several google searches. I decided to give this place a shot since it seemed like they were experts in bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. I came into the shop after a very tiring day at work. I was greeted by some ladies who told me to go right into the dressing room to try the dress on. I did, and I had only brought my work heels with me since my bridesmaid dress heels were in New York. Mind you, I didn't even bring the bridesmaid dress with me to Ohio, I had to have it shipped from New York just for the alterations. The wedding is also happening in New York. I heard multiple times that I should have my actual heels shipped out to ohio so I could try it on with my dress. While I understand it is important to hem the dress correctly, at the same time, I'm also not from this area, was commuting 20 minutes to get this dress altered, and didn't have more money to spend on shipping for the shoes. I just wish they were a little more understanding of that. One of the ladies was very nice in helping me to alter the top part of my dress to fit where I was more comfortable wearing it strapless. I returned the following week for a fitting, with the correct shoes after all the hate I was getting from the prior week. They finally altered it to the correct height. I was able to pick up my dress two weeks after dropping it off. Unfortunately I wouldn't say the customer service was the best, but they did a great job altering it and for that reason i'm giving it three stars. read more

We go here for all of our alterations, and I've never been disappointed! They are friendly, do the work relatively fast, and they have good prices. Everything has fit to exactly what I needed. One time, they even fixed a pant leg that had come unstitched at the bottom for free since it only took them a minute... that was unexpected and really reinforced my loyalty to their business. Please read carefully: this is a MIXED review based on (years of) past (excellent) service and one extremely recent (w/in the last 6 weeks) and upsetting experience. I've been using Hedi's in Rocky River for 7+ years, taking my best items to them with the knowledge that they will do an excellent job on simple-to-very complex alterations. This is the type of place you take clothes you truly care about, i.e. expensive, special occasion, etc. and *normally* walk away more than satisfied. Even better, the seamstresses often do their very best to accommodate your schedule (within reason). As my daughter got older, we used Hedi's for prom dresses, etc. and referred other friends to them, all with great results. Up until now, I always viewed the extra cost to use Hedi's as well worth the $ given the quality of the work. You can't put a price on "trust" - or so, I thought. The problem is - and it's one I'm EXTREMELY disappointed & upset by - that I recently took in a new microsuede jacket that needed the sleeves shortened. Again, it was a piece I would not have taken to one of the "franchise" type alterations stores, so I thought I would receive the usual great service. After about a week of wearing the garment, though, I looked down and noticed that the excess sleeve length had just been cut off and returned to me. There were no neatly finished hems, as I'd expected, although did receive the excess fabric when I picked up the item. Now mind you, I paid $20 for these alterations - in other words, $20 for someone to do what I could have done myself - for free! There was none of the craftsmanship I was accustomed to and worse yet, MY TRUST AS A LONG-TIME CUSTOMER WAS was basically violated. While that may seem "extreme", I just can't find a more accurate word. Had they told me that this is all they expected to do or could do with the jacket (doubtful given previous jobs they've handled), that would be one thing. I could have decided whether that was acceptable and left it with them or found another business to do the alterations if it wasn't. But I wasn't given that option and I still can't figure out why. Needless to say, I am planning to go back to Hedi's and ask them what happened and give them the chance to make things right. Under the circumstances, though, it's hard to give them the benefit of the doubt as things stand at this point. Again, not only was my trust broken, but as far as I'm concerned, my time and my money were wasted or worse. In short, I feel cheated and insulted. Hopefully there will be a "happy" ending to this story and I can (and will) update and upgrade this review. Until that happens, the rating I've uploaded is not only fair but justified. I have gone to Hedi's several times to have garments altered. Mostly for my daughter, who is super petite and needs everything altered. They do great work, are professional and deliver on time. They do get busy at certain times of the year, (May-July, wedding season and Prom season). You do need to plan ahead and give yourself several weeks before an event for any bigger jobs. They offer old world craftsmanship and I feel their pricing is quite reasonable. Located right off Center Ridge in Rocky River. Terrible experience from beginning to end. Unprofessional and very rude. She had my bridesmaids dress for a month and told me it would be ready for me to pick up today. This was the only day I could get it. I even called 2 days prior to make sure it would be ready. She assured me it would be and to come after 4pm. I get there and she hadn't even started on it yet. No apology just told me that "things happen." I ended up taking it to another place now 2 weeks before the wedding.
