Very strange experience here. Was very kind in the beginning of appt. and seems like she does quality work. When I commented the price seemed a bit high she took the pins out so quickly and told me to go elsewhere. When I agreed to the price we continued the appt and she re-pinned my dress. We decided we were just adjusting 1 strap and some of the other work we initially discussed we would do without. I had a feeling we would discuss price again and I wondered, should I even go there? I went there. I asked if the price was the same even though she was doing less to the dress? Yes, $50 to adjust 1 strap. I said that's too high. She unpinned my dress so fast and kicked me out. I guess she doesn't like to be questioned on price and certainly doesn't care for new customers. What a waste of my time and hers. This shop has the proper name, my clothing alterations were "the perfect fit"! I needed several dresses and suits, taken in. I found this shop on Yelp, and once again my fellow Yelpers didn't let me down! The owner could not have been nicer. Came here to get something altered. The lady there was SUPER rude. She initially quoted me a fair price then when I went to pay she upcharged me and I asked why and she said "do you know how much time I just spent on you??" in a very very rude tone. A consultation and pinning your item is STANDARD for alterations (duh) so just because she spent an extra 5 min pinning me down doesn't mean you can charge me 20% more than you quoted. Also a gentleman walked in and she essentially pulled my bra straps down without my permission and asked me to take my bra off. It was very uncomfortable to say the least, in front of an audience/stranger to have her yank my bra off me. I felt violated. Would not recommend this place even if my pants were falling off. Wanted a faux fur cuff added to a sweater. I brought the faux fur fabric and the sweater. As I spent about 30 seconds pulling up a picture on my phone to show her what I wanted she said "I don't want this job. Sorry." Maybe I did something to offend her, but I can't imagine what. Perhaps she's not interested in any thing other than very straight forward tailoring work. Oh well. I was referred by a friend, but I guess I'll be taking this job and all other to someone else. My recommendation would be to not go here, unless the tailoring you need done is extremely simple. My usual tailor (who's a little bit further of a drive for me) is much more up for a challenge. Her name is Lena and she's at Shaker Square Dry Cleaning and Tailoring. I recommend going there instead. read more

I recently got a new job and the uniform size was way to big for me. So, I remembered this place I'd passed all the time to get to PNC bank on the corner there. So I decided to give them a try. Its a quaint shop, and the attendant is a really cool guy. I came in right when he was closing up shop, thinking they were still open. Jacket and brief case in hand, he was ready to walk out the door. I told him I could most certainly come back tomorrow, because I know at the end of the day, a person wants to go home! But he was so nice and said no, no, no, I'll take your measurements to make your adjustments tomorrow. So he did. I needed my uniform ready for pick up Saturday, and I got it then! Service is seamless (no pun intended), awesome shop owner, awesome work uniform. Highly recommended! read more

This shop is awful. Do not use their services. You will be very sorry. The owner is very rude and does sloppy work. I took a gown that I was wearing for my son's wedding to be hemmed The owner, who does the work was incredibly rude and she did a very sub par job. She kept telling me that the gown was a Sun Dress and asking me why I would wear it to my son's wedding. She also made remarks about the shoes because they didn't have high heels I let her pin it and left it on the hanger I brought it in on for her to hem. When I returned to pick it up, it was folded and put on the hanger - not neatly at all. I tried it on to see how it looked and it was completely wrinkled. I came out of the dressing room and asked her what I should do about the wrinkles and her answer was: It's a Sun Dress. I admit, I lost it. I told her it wasn't a Sun Dress - it came from Nordstrom in the formal wear. And what would that have to do with the condition of the dress? She said I only paid her for a hem. My response was that I'll never pay her for another thing and neither will anyone I know. I will absolutely never go back there, and neither should anyone! read more

Did a perfect hem and lacework for my fiancee's wedding dress -- a Jenny Packham with some incredibly fine chiffon. It was flawless work at a reasonable price. Nellie did an amazing job on my dress from Anthropologie! When I bought the dress I was not sure if it was even possible to have it taken in because of all the really detailed beadwork and lace fabric involved but I absolutely fell in love with it so I thought I should have a tailor look at it.
