Deceptive billing. It is really just lazy billing in my case. I got an invoice, I paid it, then the invoice was adjusted because of what my insurance actually covered. They did not create a new invoice or update the invoice itself, just what was due. I called and left a message. I got a call back pretty quick. The lady on the phone is clearly not local, outsourced offshore customer support. She tried to explain what happen, I kept asking for paper work or an updated invoice and she finally put me on hold, I let the phone sit for 15 minutes and she never came back. read more

I totally agree with Jared W. Account manager Shandra 801-734-4413 was agreed on a price to pay balance in full. pd and was happy. Then several months later she sends me another bill. Said it was miscalculated on the amount agreed to. Pd that with frustration and was told it was complete. Now a couple of months later another bill comes forth. Shandra acknowledges conversation but will not budge. She is deceptive and their company ethics are terrible. Go get bids from other companies before entering into ANY agreements with this company! read more

Awaiting my re-supply of CPAP items, ordered on 22 Jan, nothing yet. I called twice and received a not yet shipped from the distribution center. I have had this medical supply company for 12 years. This has happened numerous times before, i place the order via automated service, I have to call back for status the following week just to hear nothing has been done. I call back the next week and so on until I can have a definite answer. Very frustrating to say the least. The only focus is customer SUPPORT. Without that, I might as well cut out the middle man and shop on Amazon for my supplies. read more

I can understand why this company has a 2.1 average rating. I got a bill from them more than 9 months after receiving a walker in the hospital. I have excellent insurance and couldn't understand why it might not be covered. There is another person in our community with both my name and birth date, so we get mixed up all the time. Having that confusion, I tried to contact the company's billing department. No answer, so I left messages. No response. When I finally got through to see what was going on, I found that not only had they not billed my insurance, but, even though I was given a walker by hospital order from the facility as I left, the biller claimed that they hadn't received a "prescription" from the physician for the device. They hadn't checked with the hospital or my physician to verify the information or to even see what my insurance coverage might be, let alone acknowledge the hospital order for the device. My only recourse was to "contact your doctor's office and have them send a prescription." As a retired physician, I can say that this is some of the poorest service that I have ever seen from a so-called medical supply company. And, having come from the industry, I have sadly seen too much poor service in my day. I would recommend that prospective clients avoid them as much as they possibly can, whether they are institutional or private clients. I have also registered my complaints with the hospital in hopes of eliminating this lousy excuse for a company from their supply chain. read more

I had the displeasure of having my cpap order sent to Petersen medical about a year ago and I finally gave up on them. They said I'd be able to contact them with any question I had, change equipment, etc. What they DIDN'T tell me was you never get a live person when you call. You have to leave a voice mail and hope they call you back within a reasonable amount of time. Also, good luck getting them to bill everything to your insurance. I asked for a reservoir after 6 months and the "sleep coach" started reading a script about how they made the "hard decision" to not bill those to insurance and that I had to pay $30 and could bill my insurance myself. I also never actually received any receipts or invoices from them other than when I got my machine. I do it recommend this company to anyone. Just do what I did and switch to someone who answers the phone when you call and has people in the office when you want to go in and talk to someone. read more

This business needs to move into the new century. Its very hard to find out what you will be charged for supplies. The take about 6 weeks to ship. Their prices after insurance are double what I can get on Amazon without insurance. The first invoice you receive will be marked "past due, pay in 15 days or we will add a late charge.". My wife has a CPAP machine provided through this company. Billing issues resolved however my complaint is about their customer service or lack of it. We have called multiple times for supplies. We have been told they need a new prescription, that was provided before the holiday. When we called back it was....let me look into it and call back, no call back was ever received. We ended up calling back and again are told the same thing. So here we are on day 3 of being told we'd have a call back Monday. No call, no supplies. Find yourself another medical supply company that's what we are doing. I would give them negative stars if it was possible. read more

We have used Petersen for mom's oxygen setup and supplies for only 6 months. They were FAST setting her up initially, but since that time we've called for replacement supplies three times, and they simply don't show up with them. A couple of months ago I called late in the week for tubing and cannulas, and the girl said they would bring them the following day. On Monday I called and asked what happened. She promised they would come out the following day (again), and again they didn't show. Long story short, I had to call them 4 TIMES to get those supplies. Last week it happened again - just like that. It took 3 phone calls, and I was professional but not friendly on the third call. Their wheelchair tech showed up late that afternoon, thinking he was delivering oxygen bottles, but fortunately he had a small supply tubing to leave with us. Adding to my frustration was the excuse-making. This week the girl told me "he went there, but nobody was home." I said that wasn't true - there were at least two of us home, as Mom rarely goes out at all. She said, he knocked but nobody was home. I told her "We have really LOUD doorbells on both doors; shouldn't he have rang the bell?" Then she tried to say that they leave a doorknob hanger saying they had been there. They didn't - not this time, and not two months ago. They tried giving me the "there's nobody home" excuse last time too. In the middle of that, I began receiving robo collection calls from Petersen Medical in the evenings. It asked me to confirm mom's date of birth, and told me she owed nearly $100. I knew she was paid up, as her insurance leaves her only a small co-pay. After about 3 calls, I contacted their corporate billing office, and was told that she was NOT in arrears, and they had no idea why she would be receiving phone calls. Even after this discussion, I received 2 more calls. This company is very disorganized, and completely unapologetic about any of it. I'm through. I hired a different company today. read more

I have a APAP machine through Peterson. I asked for supply's my insurance would pay for. Then I received a surprise bill in the mail for the stuff given to me that the insurance didn't cover. This company is only out for its self. No customer care in my opinion. The whole APAP machine is a racket. I'm gonna see who my Dr can suggest I go to for APAP supply's and service in the future that is actually going to listen to me the customer. read more

Prescription in hand, I sought a local business from which to purchase an expensive piece of durable medical equipment. I prefer to use a local business when I can. When I called Petersen's Kaysville phone number, it was routed through a directory and could only be accessed by choosing the Roy Office selection - they were using the closed office's phone number with no explanation to callers. Finding the physical office was difficult. It's sign could not be read from the street. While pleasant, the front desk assistant did not know her stock and had to ask a manager if they had an Everflow Q. This office manager remained hidden from view in another room throughout our subsequent conversation and would not come out when I asked if I could see her in order to speak with her. Abruptly the phantom voice shouted that only the regional manager could help me. Clearly this company did not want a cash sale preferring only to deal with rental equipment reimbursed through insurance. They are not customer friendly. read more

As with others, I have had nothing but issues with their lack of customer service. When you are supposed to receive replacement supplies every 3 or 6 months, depending on what is needed and insurance coverage, they never contact you to make sure you get those. If you don't follow up. Forget about it! And even then, it takes multiple calls on your part to get action. As other have said, they never apologize. But rather make excuses. I know that this industry is supposed to work more cohesively than this. Why? Because the old company I used would auto refill my supplies. And contact me like clockwork. They just happened to leave the industry. And go into another direction. So Petersen became the new company for me. Now, nearly 1 YEAR after I should have had auto refills, Petersen has robo calls and emails telling me I may be eligible for replacement supplies. YOU THINK!!! They should have been refilled by you guys like 3 or 4 times already. Never mind the constant billing issues. Where I receive bills for the full amount. When they have had my insurance info since day one. This company is as incompetent as I have ever seen. I honestly don't know how they stay in business. This was a great and responsive company when they were in Roy. Since I have had to deal with the Kaysville office it has been a nightmare. The lady that is over the CPAP suppplies is rude, unresponsive, and never does anything she says she will do. It takes about 6 weeks to get service or supplies that could easily be taken care of in a few days. Every time I have to call there I pray that they have finally replaced her. But then I get sent straight to her voicemail. She actually returns my call in a few days about 20% of the time. Mostly I have to keep calling to get a response. On hold for the manager for 15 minutes, then gave up. I will be transferring to another company, and would never ever recommend anybody to use Petersen medical for anything. read more

I was In need of CPAP supplies and went into Peterson medical. I was shown the supplies and purchased my mask and signed up for supplies. After the designated period of time, I did not receive re-supplies and called the office. I was advised they had made a mistake and not signed me up for auto re-supply. I began receiving my bill for the supplies I bought from the store and my wife made a payment. My wife made a second payment and she paid off the total amount according to the store. I never received supplies and called the store. I was told I should have received them. I cancelled the service at that time. I started receiving a bill for more money, then phone calls claiming I owed more money and was threatened with collections. I called and spoke with a woman(Ilene) and I was told they had sent me another mask, I informed her that I had cancelled the service, had not received any more supplies and did not owe any more money because my wife had paid them off. I was basically told I was lying and they could do nothing because their records showed they sent me another mask and UPS reported to them the mask was delivered. I asked who signed for the mask and was told that no signature had been obtained. I asked, then how do they know somebody in my home received the mask? Ilene only wanted to argue and then refered me to her manager, Shaundra. Shanudra basically regurgitated what was said by Ilene and then stated she would contact her boss, Vana, and have her call me the next week. I never received a call from Vana but Shanudra left me a voice mail 6 days later and stated due to their records showing the mask was shipped and UPS showing it was delivered, I owed them the money and they would work with me on the payments.... so basically this company says I owe them money for supplies I didn't receive....... on a good note....they will work with me on the payments on the money I don't owe them.....NICE. read more

My 86 year-old mom needed compression stockings, but we didn't know anything about them. We came here because it was close. I'm so glad we did. The girl (I did not get her name) was so wonderful with my mom! She told her about the variations of the product, what to expect, and even helped my mom put them on! I also noticed the others working there and they all seemed very helpful. We will go there again when necessary. read more

My grandpa's scooter wasn't working so i brought it to Petersen Medical to see if they could fix it. The staff was very friendly and helped me unload the scooter. I had to leave the scooter overnight because the technician was not in at the time but the staff assured me he would be contacting me the next day. As promised I got a phone call the next day letting me know the batteries were completely dead and they gave me a quote on how much it would cost to replace them. Helpful staff and timely. read more
