Five years of five-star service deserves a new review for Peterson Chiropractic! In case you want a little back story as to why and how I started to see Dr. Peterson five years ago, I recommend reading my last review. Long story short, I've been dealing with back issues for 10 years now and when I was 24 I was told I needed to have spine surgery. I decided to take matters into my own hands and be more proactive about my health instead of reactive, and that's where Peterson Chiropractic came into the picture. Since I started my therapy with them 5 years ago I've seen a huge change in my back pain and overall health. Every year they take new x-rays and we see how my spine is progressing or if it's shifting more than usual. After every assessment they prepare a plan for me and decide how many session I will need in a year. When I started I think I was coming every two weeks, but now I only need one session per month. I obviously still have some bad days where I feel pain in my neck or lower back, but I appreciate that I can always give them a call to see them sooner and get checked by the doctor. One key thing I want to mention is that Dr. Peterson uses a different method called "torque release technique". It is a very non-invasive method and there's none of that "back cracking" that people usually think when they hear the word chiropractor. Highly recommend!! After giving birth and couldn't get up from bed my back hurt so bad and when I did get up I had trouble walking and I was struggling to do normal daily tasks. After my very 1st adjustment I felt some relief and was able to get up from bed! My infant son also started coming for his torticollis in his neck, and now his neck is straight! He never cried during adjustments, proving it's not scary or painful. Everyone is so friendly and kind, and makes you feel special during every visit. My husband was also struggling from back pain and headaches from being in the military and has seen a drastic improvement since being adjusted. I am currently pregnant again and they even have a special pillow for me to lay on to get adjusted! There are informational signs all over the office about pain throughout the body and how chiropractic care can cure your pain! I wish I could give zero stars for this review. What caught my eye with this chiropractor was their use of Bible Scripture and their "testimonies" which I'm not sure are real now. I paid almost $500 between just 2 visits and ended up more messed up and in more excruciating pain than I already was. The "chiropractors" use some little device called a torque, I believe, that doesn't feel like it helps anything. Then later when I couldn't stand up or walk, I realized what that device did to me. I have never seen or heard of a chiropractor that doesn't use their hands for adjustments. Everything about this place feels off and I should have known better. It's been months and my pain is still progressing. I ended up with sciatica. If I could go back and never make those appointments or waste my money, I would in a heartbeat. This is by far one of the worst mistakes I ever made and I'm still paying for it. Don't go to this chiropractor! read more

This is the place to go to if you want the chiropractic to listen to you, how you are today and how you are progressing or having new issues. It is also the place to go to if you want your chiropractic not to "crack your bones" with his hands, but use an instrument that calibrates the strength of adjustment, ensuring there is no undesired misalignment. Dr Peterson will not align you based on beliefs, but instead will consult x-ray and heat images that show where adjustments are needed and why. His team is very well trained to treat all patients the same, and with knowledge of our particular situation. I absolutely feel at ease, knowing I am getting the best treatment possible at every visit. I feel better, I am not awakened by my back pain any more, and I have more mobility. Was referred to Dr Timothy Peterson for on going pain and had my first visit today. As soon as you walk in the door the staff is very welcoming and their office is very clean and comfortable. As a medical provider I see many patients with chronic pain, not relieved with medication. Drs. Peterson and Peterson have a proven technique, the gentle activator, which slowly aligns the spine, I know from personal experience how helpful this treatment is. This clinic is run like a tight ship! Very clean and professional. All of the staff is extremely caring and friendly. Dr. Tim Peterson explains every aspect of the treatment and checks for progress and changes at every visit with the patient. The clinic uses cool technology to make checking in easy and efficient. They are very aware of ur schedule and there is very little to none "wait-time" even though there is a steady flow of patients. A sad departure... This update is far different than my prior 5* posts, but I felt it necessary for several reasons: 1. After being a patient with the same insurance for over 6 years, I learned that I've been overcharged all this time. They collected $55/visit from me. My new chiro charges only my $20 copay. Though they had my insurance information, they apparently never filed...or, if they did, they got paid twice. 2. As much as I appreciated the awesome care that I received, I decided to sign my kids up. Though I understand kids are different vs adults, 3-4 activator clicks is about all they got. I completely disagree with some of the observations - nothing detrimental to anyone, but rather more questioning of efficacy of treatments especially when compared to the price tag. Sadder, the boys related absolutely no note of change. (New chiro: my boys ask me to make appointments because they've been educated about how to listen to their bodies, and they report immediate results). 3. Upon paying nearly $300 for my kids' evaluations (and again, our new chiro charged $20 copay ONLY), _I_ was then informed that _I_ had to be reevaluated ($200+). (It's not that I minded the re-evaluation, but read my prior posts... Uh, why now?) 4. After my reevaluation, I was now put on "a plan." Goodbye to the years of going every 8-10 wks as was before. Suddenly, this wasn't good enough for them, even though it worked perfectly for me & my health. 5. The communication between Dr. Tim and I changed. The essence: you need to "buy into" the plan I've developed for you. If you don't comply, then we don't want you. Previously, it was all about health; now, it appears to revolve around $. 6. Initially planned to go ahead with the kids' plan. When I had to cancel an appointment for spring STARR tests and couldn't return for a couple of weeks, I was informed that the revised plan was to bring my kids every other week for the ENTIRE SUMMER, or else they would be discharged for non-compliance. WTH? (did you read my prior posts? Who are these people?) 7. Christian? Um. Wondering what has happened to them. I would definitely say that their new model doesn't seem very Christian-like at all. I've been a patient of Peterson Chiropractic for about five years. Rough treatment of my spine during my younger years in an infantry unit and now from too much time in cramped airline seats and stooped over my computer at work had finally caught up with me. I couldn't get comfortable to sleep, I was tired all the time, couldn't stand very long without my back hurting, felt weak, etc. Dr. Peterson showed me what was wrong with my back and explained it in layman's terms. He didn't promise a miraculous recovery, as the longer you let things go, the harder it is to heal. However, within just a couple of weeks, I was doing much better. Not like back to my 20's feeling better, but much, much, improved. In fact, just walking out of the office, I felt like I was taller. Sounds dumb, but that's how it felt. I was just in their office today for an adjustment. They recognize every patient that comes through the door. Not by looking at the appointment list, but just by seeing your face come through the door. How many doctors offices have staff that do that? I usually don't even think about my back any more, but still have some minor issues from time to time, nothing as severe as what brought me in several years ago. I come in twice a month to keep things from degrading. Once a year, they take new X-rays and show me the alignment of my spine and compare it to the original X-rays. I've never been to another chiropractor, but I wouldn't think a single adjustment would be helpful for me in the long term. After hurting my back I decided to find a chiropractor - but had a real bad experience with my first pick up in Boerne! A very arrogant person telling me that I wasn't relaxed enough to let him do his "cracking" procedure. - I never went back there. THEN I MET Dr. Tim Peterson...WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Not only did he listen to my problems and concerns, he used his torque release technique, which is completely gentle and adjusts you in a non-painful way no matter how tense and inflamed you are (in my experience). In addition my questions about healthier life style were not only taken seriously but also answered by someone who I could tell...takes those suggestions very seriously for himself and incorporates them into his own very busy schedule. A very realistic doctor, too!!! The entire team is very friendly, helpful and I feel that you cannot loose anything by giving them a try. I highly recommend it. I had a stiff neck, so based on the recommendation of several friends, I decided to go to Peterson. I had the initial evaluation and was told how bad my spine, neck, and general alignment was. I was a little surprised because I had no pain, and not that much stiffness. I was a given a treatment plan, which included three visits a week(which is really difficult because of their limited hours), muscle stimulation, the roller table, and more....I was a bit skeptical, but was"scared" enough from the evaluation, that I thought I should try and make it better. After the first 4 treatments, I asked when I would see an improvement in the stiffness...told by tech that it was between my body and God and no one knew. So the next time I saw the doctor and I asked again...told some people think they are better and they are not, and some think they aren't better but really are. What kind of answer is that? So by the next visit, I asked the doctor why my neck was worse and beginning to have pain...he said he did not know, but would do complete work up at the next appointment, which I did at the cost of $255, that is not covered at all by insurance....and I could come back in a week and see what he thinks. Well, now I am in real pain and am having trouble turning head at all....decided that was all there was.. a total of 7 adjustments, 4 muscle stimulation treatments and 1 roller table treatment, I was so bad I could barely move. After 1 week of not having any treatment, it was better than seeing him. This was the worst health care experience ever! I feel like I was "scared" into the expensive treatment plan, and that it then caused more harm than help. Beware!! read more

(edited for clarity - I was a bit angry yesterday and posted too fast) This business hit me with the line below in their effort to saddle me with an unwanted and unneeded treatment regimen. In my opinion this is a classic example of a medical practice selling unneccessary treatments. ======== "Not interested in short term relief" I actually wasn't too surprised when the doc said that to me as I was somewhat ready for the hard sell because of the insultingly obvious lead-in questions on the inpatient form ***For example: "On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is your health to you. __" "Sublaxation can take years to show. Have you ever: ___Fallen down ___Slipped on ice ___Been in an automotive accident (etc) But I only wish they got around to trying to set me up for the milking sooner. I walked out on them but by the time it was over it was too late to try and get in to see someone else. Mind you - I don't go to see a doctor unless there is something wrong. While I was sitting there in some discomfort they were setting me up for the milking operation and was looking at me like I was the prize heifer at the fair. FYI : Prior to seeing the doc I had to deal with a host of minor irritants : automatic approval to email you spam on the intake form, christian music, security cameras, having a mug shot taken but the most irritating was the counter help's /tour/ that ended with a "here is a wall of customer testimonials in case you are interested" I feel bad for the folks who go in with truly serious pain and don't feel like they have the option to leave. (second edit: in response to owner's comments below) Nothing you state addresses the core issue of unnecessary medical treatments. You managed to meet the Hippocratic "Do no harm" but it's your apparant business model of "Do No Good until the mark is on the hook for the long term" that I object to. And it's only fair that other people learn how you operate before walking in your door. read more

I have been a patient of Drs. Ward & Tim Peterson for several years. When I first went to Dr. Peterson for treatment on a back issue I was having, I was not looking for a "quick fix" - I knew that long term care and treatment would be necessary to maintain the health of my neck and back. It was also very important to me, that the doctor I chose was not interested in me being just another client to add to the patient list, but that he or she would truly be interested in me personally, and in my long term health goals. Since going to Peterson Chiropractic, I can honestly say that I have not been treated, nor felt this good in many years. I spend a lot of my weekends photographing weddings - this is very demanding and fast paced, as I have to carry around a lot of heavy camera equipment - constantly setting up, taking down, moving from point A to B to C a lot. I also travel a lot for my day job. If it were not for the great care, understanding and attention I have received from not only the doctors, but the entire staff, I would not be able to keep the demanding schedule that I do. My wife and I have been patients of Doctors Ward and Tim for 4 years. When I started seeing them, I could not walk erect after standing for only 20 minutes or so and was having wild swings in blood pressure (from 80/50 to 230/120). Within a month of the beginning of treatment, I was able to stand completely erect for several hours without rest and the wild swings in blood pressure--which my cardiologist did not know how to treat without giving me so many drugs that I was continuously tired--simply "went away." My wife had similar results with severe chronic back pain and tachycardia--these problems, which she had been having for years--also "went away." In September of 2012, I ran into a low doorjamb and gave myself a severe whiplash, but I didn't realize how severe. It was very painful, but seemed to get better, though agonizingly slowly. The wild blood pressure swings, however, started again. The allopathic doctors said it was a congenital issue and that nothing could be done. When I informed Dr. Peterson, he took X-rays and determined that I had a severely--I mean severely--misaligned vertebrae (C2). After a few months of gentle and consistent treatment, the vertebrae straightened a great deal and the wild blood pressure swings stopped. The pain is greatly diminished.
