Chicken with a side of baked beans and mac & cheese
Jordain J.

First time trying out this restaurant after being told about it. So I decided to do the half a chicken with a side of macaroni and cheese and baked beans. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken is also covered with their Carolina/mustard sauce. Absolutely delicious to die for and I'm truly coming back soon. It's a shame that barbecue is really only popular for the most part on the weekends and they only open on the weekends. But I truly understand making people wait for a quality product. Next time I might just just pull up and try the ribs. But I encourage anyone reading this to definitely go out there and try the food. It's quite good!

The half slab of ribs was tender and falling off the bone. The sauce was delicious I get them on the side so I can dip it. I the service was speedy and the young man was polite.

After seeing this gem on YouTube, we knew we had to visit Pete's when we visited the area. It's in a house in a mixed retail and residential area. With large black smokers outside, you can't miss it. We thought we would order a light lunch but we quickly discovered there is no such thing as light at Pete's. LOL! We ordered 2 rib sandwiches and 2 chicken sandwiches along with different desserts. The entrees were served piled WAY high over white bread in a white styrofoam. The bread is sort of hidden but needed to accommodate the tangy sauce we chose. It was too much sauce for my liking but my husband loves sauce so he was happy. Each plate could easily serve 2 people. While the ribs were tender and flavorful, my favorite was the chicken. It was soooo soooo good. You can't go wrong no matter how you choose. While there on that rainy day, traffic was flowing in and out which spoke volumes. We spent 8 minutes from the time we entered, ordered and left. Quick! An oh don't be alarmed by the loud meat chopping in the back. That's the sound of BBQ love, which brought back old memories from our hometown of Memphis. Keep up the good work, Pete.

This is your stereotypical hole-in-the-wall joint that excels at one thing - BBQ. My friend and I were at the annual Ligonier conference and stopped by here afterwards for lunch before driving back to Atlanta. Afterwards, I told my friend that it's worth it to drive every year to Ligonier just to eat here. The building and interior is, how shall I say it, quite humble. Don't come here expecting any fancy building. They only allow 3 people inside at a time, so there was a short line outside. They also only take cash. Menu is simple. From the other reviews, it appeared the consensus is just to get the ribs. So, I ordered the rib sandwich. I originally was wondering, "$15 for a sandwich?" Then I saw what they meant by sandwich is two sandwich bread slices hidden under a plateful of ribs. My friend and I agreed this was the best ribs we've ever had. No exaggeration. Meat actually did fall off the ribs, unlike other places that claim that but fail to deliver. Smoke flavor was excellent. Sauce was great and I thought the perfect amount to not drown the smoke flavor. Neither of us could finish it in one sitting. The amount of ribs you get is more than I eat at a rib buffet. To top it all off, we had a great chat with Pete who was overseeing the smoker outside. What a gem Orlando has with this BBQ location.

As soon as you pull into the parking lot you can smell BBQ. You walk inside it's only takeout option. A dinner plate was $21 and comes with two sides and two slices of white Bread. My only regret when I left was not getting more BBQ or trying the chicken.

The pictures were taken after we already dug into it because the smell was too intoxicating to wait to take proper photos. It tastes absolutely delicious! The chicken is tender, the sauce hits the spot and isn't too overwhelming, and the bread in the bottom finishes it off. This is definitely one of the best bbq spots I've been too. Better then the chain bbq spots in town.

I would like to say that the customer service is wonderful ! The prices for the ribs and chicken I think is pretty fair... my ribs were so tender and falling off the bone, I also got the chicken as well which was also delicious but If I had to choose I'd choose the ribs ! I also ordered potato salad and collard greens. I felt the potato salad was a little on the sweet side but the collard greens was on point ! I live in Davenport but I'd definitely drive to Orlando just for This bbq !

It was hot, but the team took great care of us. They made sure everyone had water, and for those of age they even offered one Smokemade Lager from Ten 10 Brewing. The line did move at a slow and steady pace. And I appreciate them for offering the waters, the beer, and for managing the line and keeping it orderly. Once it was my turn to order, I did my best not to order everything, but also did my best to pick some favorites. While there was only four of us, we wanted to have a spread and have leftovers. So I ordered two brisket sandwiches, one pulled pork sandwich, one philly sandwich, 6 ct- tallow fried wings (hot korean bbq), large side of cheddar grits, large side of pinto beans, large side of mac and cheese, and a large side of potato salad. When the sandwiches were being made I was immediately impressed by the amount of brisket and pulled pork being put on the sandwiches. While packing our food, I noticed they threw in a loaf of bread. When they handed it to me, I asked if the bread was our ls and they said it was. We didn't order it, but I am thinking since our order was over $100 it might be something that is included, not very sure. Once to my destination we unpacked all of the food and laid it out. It all looked so good, and the smell was out of this world. Everyone quickly made plates and dove it. It didn't take long for us to start commenting on how delicious everything was and that we loved it. The sandwiches were generously packed with super flavourful meat. The cheddar grits were amazing. Some of the best mac and cheese I have had. And the pinto beans were great and I loved the meat they include in the. While we all thought the potato salad was good, it was the least exciting of everything. I think we all prefer a wetter and more southern style. My wife did enjoy her philly, but did make the comment that it was more brisket tasting and not enough philly like. It was also packed with meat and looked amazing. The wings were a nice little addition, great flavor and cooked perfectly. And that free loaf of bread was fantastic, it was similar to a potato bread. Everything was so good and well with the wait. I look forward to my next meal here. The staff was phenomenal and so helpful. Everyone was in great spirits and did a wonderful job, especially considering how busy it was.

The mac and cheese also left me wanting more it just wasn't as rich as I hoped. That said, their collard greens were outstanding truly the star of the show. And the butter gooey cake? That was a sweet win. I also tried their Frisco fries, and they were decent, but I wouldn't rush back just for those. The ambience is really laid-back. It's like any regular barbecue place. I saw at least 3 to 4 tables of people sitting down and enjoying their barbecue and they seem to have a steady stream of traffic. The cashier who is also getting our food order together seemed really nice. She had a great personality. I honestly don't feel the need to go back and visit again. I feel like I would enjoy barbecue more from four rivers.

It came with 2 sauces not needed but good for a little twist to the flavor, one I think was eel sauce (no eel included and the other one tasted mostly like green onions. I feel like the vast majority of BBQ places here in Orlando are all kind of the same. There use to be one place in particular I really enjoyed when it first started and as it expanded with multiple locations popping up everywhere, it lost its soul irreversibly in the process. S&D was not our first choice initially. We had just had drinks at Sideward brewing and were looking for some grub. We looked up on Yelp, and this was only like 3 minutes away. When we walked in, I felt like we were in a replica of Stardust coffee shop. It's got so much vintage stuff everywhere. It had a laid-back hippie vibe that immediately made me feel right at home. They had a DJ playing old school music; I loved it immediately. I appreciated the simplicity of the menu, and so it was easy to make up my mind. I went with the smoked turkey breast plate. When done right, smoked turkey breast is delicious so that was the test for me. I chose fries and baked beans as my side. My friend chose the pulled pork, mac n cheese, and baked beans with the addition of the corn bread. My other friend had the 3 meats plate. he chose brisket, chicken, and pork belly. I loved everything on my plate. The difference from other BBQ places being that this was homemade, you can taste the difference from other places that are just heating pre-packaged stuff up. Having said that, you're also going to wait, especially on Friday night when they were pretty busy. We sat at a table where we could see people cooking. I loved watching the girl add the cheese to mac n cheese and flip the noodles around, watching them ooze with cheese. That was such an awesome sight to behold. The turkey was moist, smokey and absolutely delicious, I would've loved another slice of it. Having said that, if you go in hungry, you will probably have to order something else in addition to your meal, depending on what you get, the portions can be small compared to other places. (see pic) I tried some of my friends cornbread, it was so good! Also with that homemade taste and more akin to a cupcake without frosting rather than cornbread, but still really delicious. During our visit we got to try some complimentary chicharrones, probably because of the wait time we had for things. Afterwards we were also treated to some mini donuts and those were spectacular!! simple cinnamon and sugar but oh so good! I honestly can't wait to go back for another visit.

We tried several of their sandwiches and a tray of donuts. The pork sandwich was decent, I'm not a fan of the bbq sauce, a bit too thin for my liking, not real option for hot either, lot of sweet or vinegar options, which sweet bbq + sweet donut = a bit overkill. Some heat would have been nice. The bbq overall was a 6/10 as there wasn't anything that stood out as a star or that you'd get anywhere else. The donuts were way too sweet for us, they are well done, but if you like super sweet then they'll be right up your alley. There wasn't much for service as we ordered from the counter and sat ourselves at the table. Overall I'd say check them out!

The brisket was the standout for me, followed closely by the pulled pork. The chicken and sausage held their own too. Honestly nothing on the board disappointed. The beer selection also surprised me in the best way -- not your typical theme park watered-down options. One heads up for first-timers: order before you find a table. We made the mistake of doing it the other way around and were pretty firmly told we couldn't sit until we had ordered. I went back and asked for more bbq sauce because I got two small cups of bbq sauce which had about 3 tablespoons of liquid each. Pulled pork always sucks up a lot of sauce. There was plenty of meat and the bun was fresh but overall it would have been perfect with some acid from the pickles. My brisket and rib meal was excellent.
