So, wanted some BBQ and this places has had me wondering for a while. Saw it has 2 Michelin guide recommendations, so why no. Ambience is good, it is Disney, so you see a lot of people and screaming kids. Beautiful full bar in the back. Service is friendly and nice. My specific table had an issue, water was dripping from the AC vent. Now for the food, we ordered the butcher plate, came with a little of everything to try (Brisket, chicken and pork) side of waffle fries and Mac and cheese. It also came with pickle, pickled onion and coleslaw. Coleslaw had no real flavor, pickled onion should be sliced thinner. Pickle ok. Waffle fries amazing, Mac and cheese needed more flavor for me. Chicken was dry and a bit overcooked, same with the sausage. Pork was good, needed a bit more of flavor but nicely cooked, some sauce and it was very good. The overall winner, the brisket! We were SO excited to try this place thanks to all the influencer raving and thinking (incorrectly) that it was a Michelin Star restaurant. I sincerely hate being a hater and I wanted nothing more than to love this place but...well, here are my thoughts. Chaos - The entire place feels chaotic and stressful. You wait in line to order (totally fine), but are not allowed to find a table until after you've ordered. Literally, no one else eating there pays attention to this so by the time you get your order in, finding a table feels like the Hunger Games with people already camping on spots. Once you find one, it's just a sea of people hovering by tables trying to snag one. The ordering line also lets you out right at the entrance/exit to the kitchen, so you're stuck standing there looking for a table while servers are cutting in and out of you. It might be the worst laid out restaurant I've ever seen, so high five for that? The other weird part about the tables is they all say "Reserved" on them. I watched, no joke, 5 different people get upset that there were no un-reserved tables and when they asked staff, they all had the same cheesy line "oh it's reserved for you!". I don't know if it's a failed gimmick or just a huge whiff, but...yea. Food - It's all supposedly cook to order, but it's very clear they are just mass prepping it and sticking it under food lamps because our food came out luke-warm at best. I have a feeling the fries might have been good if they were hot, but they clearly had been sitting all alone waiting to meet us for a while. Here's the part that broke my heart, though. The brisket. I was SO excited for the brisket...and it disappointed...hard. It was dry, sliced way too thin, cold, and it lacked any meaningful flavor. They have some sort of coffee rub they put on it that tasted...ugh, I have to say it...terrible. It had a liquid smoke type fake taste to it. 0/10 on the brisket. Michelin - They tout the Michelin thing pretty hard but in case you're wondering, the place does NOT have a Michelin star. It is just a "Michelin recommended" spot. I would LOVE to meet whoever the rep was from Michelin who ate here and said, "OMG YASSSS! RECOMMEND!", because I'd love to see them say it with a straight face. Updated review since we just went again last night. There was a long line outside, but it moved at a decent pace. The staff was all friendly and still super knowledgeable. We had planned to meet friends here for dinner after we arrived in Orlando but they had to cancel their trip at the last minute. After initially picking other options instead due to how busy the area was and where we ended up having to park (Grapefruit Garage) decided to stick with this since it was much closer and had already gotten later than we originally planned to eat. On both occasions we have had to wait around 30 minutes to order. I understand why but not allowing people to sit while other members in their party are in line to order is not particularly helpful especially when you have elderly members of your group with mobility issues. As before the food is great and my wife & I were able to split the sandwich and 2 sides to be filling enough. After a long park day or otherwise particularly hungry might add a 3rd side or 2nd sandwich. Other than the seating issue and wait, it was a great experience. They have tables to accommodate large groups of 6 or 8 and outdoor seating is covered. I wish they had a mobile order option or even switch to a hybrid table service type when there is a longer line. First off parking.. you will have to park in the deck and walk quite a bit. The area around the restaurant is pretty busy but the way they handle orders and coordinate really helped me enjoy my dining experience. You first will have to pay and then they bring everything out to your table directly. The food did not take long at all to come out and you can sit anywhere in the restaurant that says reserved. We stopped here after poking around Disney Springs and thought the menu looked good. They have your traditional meat plates and sides. We got sandwiches and they also have a deal you can get 3 sides for $17. Also have beer and bourbon flights. Meal was very good do being one of the most experience of our trip (including in the parks). The hostess sat us right away at the bar which I thought was great. The only knock was the bartenders definitely favored the locals/regulars and let them cut the line to walk right up and seat themselves. The Polite Pig is a very popular barbecue joint at Disney Springs, and always has a line. It's not that bad, as we entered the line when it was right outside the entrance at 8pm, and were sat within 15 minutes. They're very efficient about the ordering process; look over the menu while you're in line so that you're somewhat ready to order with the cashiers. You pay up front and are given a table number, and seat yourself. While drinks and food are delivered to you, you sauce yourself at the various sauce taps. The sauces were unique, strong, and flavorful, but the meats didn't need any. Coming from CA, I won't say I'm a BBQ connoisseur, but the barbecue here certainly tasted fantastic. The alcohol list (particularly bourbon) is varied and the drinks we had were good - especially the cocktail slushie. The butcher board (for 2) is an appealing option to try everything, as it includes pork, chicken, brisket, and sausage. You can even add on extra meat for an upcharge - we added burnt ends which was so worth it! However, it definitely made it a struggle to finish the platter between two people. The platter also comes with slaw, pickles, cornbread, and your choice of 2 sides. All of the meats were tender, moist, and had a good smokiness. We liked the brisket the best, though will continue to get the board again since every meat has its place and purpose! We were especially pleased with how good the chicken was, since that's usually our least favorite meat. The sides were also well cooked and flavored, with good texture and portions. We got the crispy brussels sprouts, which were roasted perfectly, and the fresh and creamy street corn. We were very impressed by how busy, yet quick and efficient dining here was. Overall efficiency and flow of the ordering/seating etc was very well laid out. The service was very good and I found all of the waiters and front cashiers helpful and friendly. There was one young man who stood out in particular, but I don't recall his name. He had blonde dish tips on his hair and was tall. The restaurant was busy, but maintained well and clean. As is typical and easy, you get inside and order your meal. You then sit down and they will bring the order. Of course, when you sit down they will bring the beer you order at the cashier. That makes it easy for you. Within 10 minutes the food arrives. It is all here to start and enjoy what you receive. The portion is a good size, and the meal is warm and fresh. That is good to know. We had a good variety, from puddled pork sandwich to chicken fingers to even a brisket sandwich. It was a way to try a few different items. We even ordered the Southern style grilled cauliflower topped with a spicy sour cream sauce mix. It was a good flavor. Overall the meal was good, and everyone enjoyed. Especially those with the beers. As for the brisket sandwich, this was tough. It was not cooked the way brisket is made to be soft and tasty. Instead, this was as hard as leather. All BBQ is on the depth chart and from we could tell it is all delish. The wait to order was only about 10 minutes, and that is with the line being out the door!! This was our second time here for food, but if you don't have time to sit down and want to just grab a drink you actually don't even have to come inside, they have a full service walk-up bar that's partially outdoor / patio style. They have cocktails on tap here which are premade, but they are delicious - including an old fashion and a delicious apple cider whiskey sour with a cinnamon rim (highly recommend). We got a platter this time which is definitely enough for at least two people - we got brisket, smoked turkey, chicken, mac n cheese, potato salad, cornbread, and added a side of chili as well. You get your food and have a guaranteed table, they stop the line if nothing is available and if you don't have a receipt you cannot get a table. It's a an order at the counter, find your table sort of place. There's a bar the separated inside from outside. There's a sauce bar with condiments and BBQ sauce options. The menu is good, with something for everyone. The hubs and I weren't hungry enough for our own meals, so we agreed to split the smoked turkey breast with a side of their famous mac and cheese. It also comes with coleslaw and a cornbread muffin. The hubs wanted to try the burnt ends chili so we also got a side of that and the brussels sprouts. I got a whiskey sour, the cocktails are on tap, but they also have a bar. The turkey was okay. The hubs smoked a better turkey on Thanksgiving, but the smoke flavor was good. Did you know this was a Michelin star restaurant? Because I for sure didn't! It was so good I can. I went here with some friends and it came recommended from them. So I have never been here. We did not get a reservation so we stood outside in line just for the quick service and there happened to be a table on the inside so that worked out for us. I didn't realize it, but it is also a Michelin star restaurant so that was pretty cool! My friend has a gluten allergy so it was really cool that they could accommodate her. I got the brisket with fries, and mac & cheese. It does come with coleslaw, but I substituted that out. The brisket was cooked so well! Very seasoned and filled with flavor! The fries were nice and crispy and were waffle fries so that was great! The mac & cheese was very creamy and really yummy too. It also came with a small, jalapeño cornbread, I definitely don't like jalapeños, but I did not taste anything like it so I think it was just a regular cornbread. If you need a quick place to eat and didn't make a reservation, I would definitely recommend this location! They were very fast with the service and very polite and the tables turned over quickly because people are just going in for a quick bite. Such a fucking disappointment. Did I come on a bad day? Looking at the other reviews, it's either that I did ... or that the majority of the people I saw in line were wearing sandals, ill-fitting cargo shorts and likely wouldn't know good BBQ from the Olive Garden. Disney Springs definitely caters to a touristy crowd. Let's start off by the complete shitshow seating is. Inside has barely any seating for families. The main seating area is outside ... however, you are not allowed to put your ass in a seat unless you have your food in your hands. All the open tables have 'reserved' signs on them and if you sit there while someone in your family orders your meals, the hostesses will ask you to get up. I could literally see my brother paying for our food at the counter, so I sat at a table and was asked to get up, despite pointing him out. Of course, the second I stood up, someone else grabbed the table ... the only vacant one. Not more than 3 minutes later, my brother came out and we had nowhere to sit. 3 minutes!!! So we ended up sitting on a high top table right next to other people inside the hot restaurant. For this reason alone, this place can fuck off. Then there is the food. $20 for a brisket platter and it was dry and tasteless. The brisket was almost chewy. I was given a butter knife to cut it. One would think it would be tender ... but slicing it was like cutting boiled corned beef that had been cooked too long. There was a huge fat cap on the bottom, which meant 25% of each piece was inedible. It also had a sweet taste and not smokey. The pulled pork sandwich had the opposite issue. It was soft and mushy and tasted like Curly's pulled pork at the supermarket for $5. It was covered in sauce and topped with some kind of pineapple salsa ... this made the only taste sweet and sugary. We could taste no smokey flavour or meatiness. Only sweet. No bark on the pork. The portions were also small. Despite how bad the meat was ... we left feeling hungry still. Not what one would expect at a BBQ place. The IPA I ordered was average and tasted more like a Miller Light mixed with IPA. It also came to the table warm as it probably had been sitting for a while before our overworked server brought it to the table. It was 80 degrees out and we asked twice for water to be brought to the table. It never came. The only decent part of the meal was the macaroni and cheese. It was full of cheese and tasted great. The street corn was covered in mayonnaise ... not a drizzle but rather like it was dunked in mayonnaise or sour cream. Overall, this meal was the biggest bust in Disney Springs for us, as it was recommended highly by a friend. (Who happens to be a functioning alcoholic ... so that makes sense now.) My overall take is skip this place. The utter chaos of getting a seat sucks almost as much as the food does. Was in Disney Springs and reviewers recommended her and I am so glad I did. I had lunch here and it was busy! If you are a single or a duo, see if you can get a spot at the bar otherwise there is a line you wait in to order. I selected the slider trio and each sandwich was really good: my favorites were the brisket and pulled pork then the fried chicken. Being solo and eating at the bar made for a pretty quick experience, and this $19 was filling. I would dine here again. read more
