The old guy running this place has no personality and honestly doesn't no how to interact with the public.. Is that you Pete? The place has history and nostalgia and maybe Pete is a historical legend in his own mind. Pete ya need to be welcoming and learn to interact and tell people what is in the museum. A one minute tour sleeper yawn

Williams, Arizona. An old service/gas station along Historic Route 66. The old service bay is the actual museum from the owner/procurator's lifelong collections from yesteryears. The man has fascinating stories, tales, and the sorts from his extensive experience. He grew up in Montana & has unique perspectives of the Native situation, Custer's Last Stand & the relationship between Settlers (aka white folks) & Native Americans (Indian). The museum is puny & mostly stuff around automotive maintenance, signs, and other gimmicks. The other bay is the gift shop to keep this place operating. The exterior has signs, two old gas pumps and older cars. Sometimes there are numerous cars, sometimes just one mini jalopie. Overall, a great place to walk around, grab some food/drink nearby and all that. Access/Roads: Paved. Located in Downtown Williams. Parking: Only Street parking. Can be crowded but it's free. Distance: Los Angeles is 425 miles West. Grand Canyon National Park (South) is 55 miles North. Williams is the gateway to Grand Canyon NP. Phoenix is 170 miles South. Albuquerque, New Mexico is 350 miles East. Costs: Free. Nearby Attractions: Williams has many gimmicky things such as Bearizona, Zip lining, trains, etc. Too many to list. Obviously, the Grand Canyons is nearby too. Here is a list of less popular attractions: Ash Fork Route 66 Museum in Ash Fork is west. Meteor Crater about 75 miles east. Apache Death Cave about 65 miles east in Winslow. Tuzigoot, Montezuma Castle & Well is appx 100 miles South in various towns. Petrified National Forest and "Geronimo" is about 150 miles East. There are a good chunk of things off of the I-40 in central arizona, but the western end towards Kingman really sucks unless you drive at night. Then... If you are really lucky, might run into UFOs or get abducted by Martians.

It is not a recommendable place for visiting, it's a very small station and the owner is a rude man.

It's located near the Williams Visitor Center, which made parking super easy with plenty of free spaces. There is no fee to enter, and it is a smaller place. It took us about 20 to 30 minutes to go through it all and we also spend time speaking to the owner. He was friendly, knowledgeable and you can tell a lot of thought went into everything. Each item on display had interesting facts but also some had a bit of humor which made the boys laugh. In the middle aisles, they had a selection of toys, rocks, plushies and some boardgames for sale. I wish I had taken more pictures but as my husband said, "If we had taken more photos, his phone would be full of ..." well you can imagine lol Overall, I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area, especially if you have kids and want something quick, fun, and a little different. It was a nice break that costs nothing to enter but leaves a lasting impression.

The coolest spot in Williams AZ…read more We drove through Williams after visiting Grand Canyon and we were taking a break there. Following advice from the internet, we checked out old gas stations and local stores but nothing interesting detected. We walked into Poozeum with zero expectations after seeing the sign says free and disappointed by the gas station next to it. HOWEVER, it was mind blowing and definitely one of the highlights of the entire trip. (Even though we just saw Grand Canyon!) There were all kinds of interesting fossils - dinosaurs poop fossils, bowl movement fossils, and amber fossils with insect inside which I only read about in the books! The owner was super fun to talk to. He was clearly a very knowledgeable and humble scholar, who travels the world to study fossils. He was also very humorous and referred to himself as a "poop collector". I admire the dedication and passion that he has for poops. I strongly recommend everyone to go to this Poozeum in Williams Arizona.
