There was one issue, however. Even though I mentioned to Julie that salicylic acid is terrible for my skin and I'm allergic to soy, she used and recommended products containing both ingredients, which I didn't notice until after 3-4 weeks of using them. It was partially my bad that I didn't double check but I have never had an aesthetician not be totally on top of that and upfront about what they are using - it's why I spend so much money going to high-end spas. It took 2-3 months to clear the cystic acne that was caused (my usual reaction to salicylic acid) and the dark marks are still there 6 months later. Julie was responsive and recommended I come back in so that she could get to know my skin and make adjustments to the treatment plan, but I had already lost trust, so I haven't been back. I found another aesthetician who "got" my skin upon first meeting and uses Yonka Paris products which seem to work better for me than the Glo Therapeutics line. My case is a bit unusual since I have such finicky skin so if you don't I highly recommend Julie for her skill and presence!

I was tired of my skin looking dull from the harsh winter air as well as hormonal acne breakouts. I made my first appointment a little over a month ago after reading hundreds of reviews for multiple spas/salons in the Milwaukee area and settled on a place close to home. The facial service is $79 for 60 minutes. It was the most relaxing 60 minutes of my life. My skin was glowing, smooth, and I felt extremely calm afterwards. I had my second appointment a month later and my skin has been going a little crazy from some stress I've been going through. Michelle did some extractions, which are usually painful, and they weren't painful at all. She recommend a high frequency treatment and explained throughly what the treatment would do for my skin and how it would feel. It didn't hurt but my facial muscles were a little twitchy afterwards. She also recommended some Acne relief pads to reduce breakouts. When you get a facial you get a bit of arm, shoulder, and head massage. The level of pressure applied was perfect. Two days later and my skin is looking so much better! Breakouts have stopped and the extraction site redness is gone. Needless to say I've booked my third appointment and will probably continue to make appointments to keep my skin in check. I had such a good morning at the club, worked my shoulder, stumbled into the Pilates reformer area where a really kind trainer got me excited enough to sign up for sessions and her weekly class, then swam about 500 yards. Everything was going perfectly. Then came the locker room. It was quiet, almost empty. I came out of the shower, headed to my locker, and this fully dressed woman was standing there. She said good morning, I said it back. But then she sat down right next to me while I was naked, turned her back, and pulled out her phone. The whole locker room was open, and she picked that spot. I felt exposed and uncomfortable. Once I got dressed, I told her that phones aren't allowed in the locker room. Instead of apologizing, she turned it on me, saying I was "threatened" by her just scheduling her classes. I told her plainly: I felt unsafe because she sat right next to me with her phone out while I was undressed. She doubled down, kept making snide comments, then followed me out of the locker room mocking me with "have a nice day." That's when I lost it and told her to go fuck herself, that no one should be pulling out a phone next to a naked person in a locker room. At the front desk, they brushed me off, said the GM would call me. Two days later she finally did, and her cold, terse, completely unempathetic tone made everything worse. She told me the woman had every right to have her phone in the locker room - that their rules only included the use of recording devices in the locker room. Then she actually suggested that if I didn't want to risk being filmed, I should use the private changing area by the pool. That floored me. I told her they were risking a potential lawsuit by not enforcing stricter rules. She just said, "Yes, we sure are," in a way that made it clear she didn't care about my opinion at all. Then she asked, "Do you want anything else?" I said, yes, I want your bosses to call me. Ridiculous. Frustrating. And I think that "they" didn't enjoy interacting with me. So I'll keep coming. And I will keep complaining until they commit to a safer space for everyone.

After reading the one review on Yelp which was the only review I decided to purchase the Groupon for the tanning salon. Only to find out how cheap the "salon" really was. The first two times I went to the tanning salon I was put in bed #9 which was decent but nothing like other beds I had been in(apparently the best bed they have). The last time I went I was put in bed #5 which was a joke. The bed looked about 10-15 years old. The face tanner was a 3 inch by 3 inch square with a dimly lit light behind the scratched piece of plastic which didn't even warm my face. The bed closed down to an inch above your face, so if you planned on turning to the side your hips would hit the cover (I am not the smallest person but I am not over weight). Then the radio was a car radio insert for the bed which didn't work properly and every beat to every song was vibrated through the bed. Extremely annoying and not in any way relaxing. When I asked to speak with the manager/owner or have his contact information, the receptionist refused to provide me with it. I mentioned to her that I would be writing this review and she "whatever" in a sassy tone. Now I am stuck with this crappy Groupon and I really do not want to step foot into that "salon" ever again!!!

When I first went there, to redeem my Groupon, I got to pick out a bottle of tanning lotion, and the employee told me that the Groupon users get to use their "Plus" beds. They have a 12-minute Stand Up bed and two 15-minute Lay Down beds available. I used the Stand Up. I've been back several times. I've never had to make an appointment. There have always been beds available. If the Stand Up is being used, then I'll use the Lay Down. The staff is very friendly. My only complaint is that the staff seems to be lacking in numbers. FOUR TIMES, in the last month, I've driven there to tan, and they have been unexpectedly closed. They usually put a note on the door that says when they will be open. Today, the note said, "We will be closed until 3:30pm". This was at 1:00pm. This tells me, they must be quite understaffed, if they can't get anyone to cover the tanning salon for a couple hours and must close. It's very inconvenient to the customer! They also have very limited hours. 11am-9pm, Monday-Thursday, 11am-8pm Fridays, and 10am-4pm Saturdays and Sundays. I like the tanning service they provide.. when they're actually open and I get to use the beds.
