Love, love, love the salad bar! I go there just for that sometimes. The white clam sauce pasta and eggplant Parm are also really good.

The food is lousy and way over priced for the size of the portions, they give you nothing authentic about it

When we went there was nine people including myself and we sat in the back room. We had really slow service. But the bread was good.

The salad bar is usually fresh with usual salad bar items, the bread served with meals is delicious, and they have excellent beverages.

OIP is great for a casual, Italian-style lunch or dinner. We didn't try any larger entrees during…read moreour visit - we had pizza slices on two separate occasions (it was fresh and delicious both times), and we had their fried calamari and a tomato/mozzarella Caprese salad when we dined in. Is it the best quality calamari we've had? Not by a long shot, BUT it did pretty much match my expectations for this kind of spot in a small town like Shamokin. The calamari only consisted of large rings (no tentacles), had a springy texture, and they were fried in regular Italian breadcrumbs rather than flour - I assume they're just bought frozen in bulk from a big supplier, but they were fine! The Caprese salad was fresh and good, and the pizza had very fresh-tasting sauce, melty cheese, and the right amount of crispy underside - I was very pleasantly surprised to have such good quality pizza here. To-go and dine-in service were both great.

The Food: One Italian Sub and One OIP Cheesesteak w/ mush, onion, sweet peppers, American cheese and sauce. Bread was only cut halfway down, put meat in it to the top of their soggy mushy flat bread roll, there also was NO CHEESE, NO Mushroom, and no sauce on it. They only filled half the bread from middle to top. I could have put more meat than that on a hamburger roll. Zero Stars as I do not think I have ever had a worse Cheesesteak in my life. Second The Italian had ham and turkey in it, I mean WTF how hard is it to make an Italian sub. Also, same trick of only cutting the roll 1/2 depth to put one piece of meat per side, you get more meat in a Premade packaged Turkey Hill Sandwich Sub. Zero Stars Lastly the Pizza, a meat lover large size, somebody can't even cut a pizza when it was cut into mismatch size slices with some only 1.5 inches wide. The only thing you could taste on this was grizzled bacon, they didn't even bake it long enough with very doughy uncooked center of the pizza. Sauce tastes like it came from a can. Zero Stars. We will never give business to this chain ever again, for any reason. I would rather pop open a can of Vienna sausages then eat from here. Can't make the food properly, shafting the customer by only filling less than 1/2 the bread depth and on mushy bread, seriously whoever owns this place needs to clean house cause if they keep serving like this, no one will be giving patronage.

The place was very busy, but still able to be seated quickly. Server was very attentive and timely. Another good sign. We ordered drinks which were promptly delivered in less than 5 minutes and a fairly busy night. I ordered the Scallops with Fettuccine Fra Diavolo. She ordered spaghetti with clams on the half shell. Both were absolutely amazing. I am a huge fan of FraDiavolo sauce and this was, by far, the BEST I have ever landed my taste buds on. She was extremely satisfied with her dish as well. For an authentic fine dining experience where YOU feel important rather than a burden, this is your place. Smiling faces, great server staff, food done perfectly and good portions! Best Fine Dining Italian restaurant in the "Coal Region" and I am fairly hard to impress.

First off, we got there early and sat down at the bar for a drink before our 6p reservation. Only problem was the bar tender never acknowledged us for at least 5 minutes even though she looked right at us making drinks. Luckily one of the waitress said hello and told us the bar tender would be right with us. I assume she noticed the bar tender ignoring us. The hosted was very nice and sat us early when I let her know my wife and I were here but my friend wasn't here yet. After we sat, our waitress never checked in to see if we wanted anything as we waited for my friend. I had to wave her down to let her know we would like to order a few appetizers. The appetizers, were simply just ok....Fried Zucchini and a few meatballs. Why I ordered Chicken Parm after tasting the meatball appetizer and not really digging the sauce. I should have gotten the Chicken Marsala.... My bad on that one. Needless to say I only ate half the Chicken Parm. My wife only ate a quarter of her Eggplant Parm. My friend did enjoy his Lasagna.... So there is a plus. Not that I will be in Bloomsberg Pa anytime soon but I know if I was, Rose Marie's won't be a place I would try again. Sorry... I rarely right bad reviews... but Rose Marie's is just not that good.
