I contacted Petes Shoe repair To have two pairs of Birkenstocks sandals resoled. The foot beds were still in very good condition and there was no cork missing. I was quoted $55 for one pair for the resole, And I was quoted $25 to move the straps from one pair to another foot bed that I brought in. I went to pick them up and the bill was $200. I explained to the gentleman that checked me out that I was quoted $55 and $25. He asked me who told me that? The average repair cost for this type of shoe for the work that I had done currently runs $55-$58. Since I'm leaving on a trip I had no choice but to pay but I'm not happy with the bill. I could've mailed them away to a company that I used to work with. Here is what they are charging ( see photo). Additionally, when I got them home I had to apply sealant to the cork. Unhappy to say the least. Buyer beware. The soles of the shoes I had repaired say "Walkbase " and not BIRKS. As a former sales person of Birkenstock shoes I know that Birkenstock makes all of their own shoes as well as all of their own repair products. Update: I reached out to Pete's shoe repair the following morning. Pete's Shoe Repair is located in Haddon Heights and has several dry cleaning places throughout southern New Jersey with which to drop the shoes off it was then that I learned that each one of these dry cleaning places can charge what they wish for the repairs. The repairs all take place in Haddon Heights. I also spoke to the store that I picked my shoes up from in Mantua And explained that I was unhappy with the non-BIRKS bottom. I was also unhappy with the lack of disclosure in prices. Customers have a right to know when they're having this type of shoe repaired whether or not they are receiving Birkenstock materials versus a replacement and the price involved.

LEO boots, 4 years old, like new.

My black boots were re-soled and shiny as hell. 4 years old and they looked brand new. I hope the workmanship holds up, they look great.

More recently I brought in a pair of sandals that my dog had chewed up and a purse since he got to the strap and within a week I picked up the 2 good as new.

This place was the 1 that popped up with the best reviews. Indeed it is a tiny hole in the wall joint. It is very easy to miss. It's literally a little house next to the TD bank that's right next to Vito's pizza. You walk in & immediately the smell of rubber & shoe polish slaps you in the face. Eventually an old little man comes to to help you. He's very short & direct with his customer services skills but looks like he knows what he's doing from the wear & tear on his hands & face. I hand him my $300 boots from a couple seasons ago that I love & tell him I want to resole them & shine them up. Basically make them look new again bc all the salt & snow from last year really did a number on the soles. He looks them over & tells me, "It's going to cost a lot." I ask how much & he tells me $45. I tell him these are good, expensive boots that are worth it. You have to leave 50% deposit on your job. I decided to pay the full amount & that way I can just pick them up when I come back next week for them. I'll finish up my review next week when I pick them up & report on the work it self. But I'm sure it will be quite promising as these mom&pop places are always the best at doing these jobs. ******** As expected, my boots look good as new. Nicely shined with we soles that will last me another season. Thank you!!

Maybe the quality of his work has always been bad, but he has enough customers who don't know any better. Maybe, he is incapable of recognizing how bad his work is. I recently took a pair of brand new leather boots and a pair of lightly used, clean and conditioned leather dress shoes that have satin laces to get a rubber half-sole applied. Not only was the work done extremely unprofessionally, but my boots and shoes were returned dirty and stained. The half soles on the boots are uneven. The bottom surface of the shoes was excessively and unnecessarily removed behind the half-soles on both pairs, but especially the boots. The brand new heel on one boot was even damaged on the corner! The cherry on top were the black stains left on the satin laces of the dress shoes. I can't buy replacement satin laces in the correct shade of green anywhere to match these shoes in case the stains do not come out. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for a refund, I was met with denial, refusal, and responses of, "I don't give refunds, that's how I do everyone's shoes." He took no accountability. He charged me $130. I would not bring anything that you care about here, unless you want to pay to have your possessions mistreated. If he can't respect your shoes, he can't respect others or even himself. Sad.

I gave them a wallet for reconditioning and I got it back polished. They are the drop off point for Pete's shoes in Runnemead, who I used when Pete was there. You can no longer talk with the shoe repair girl at Pete's because she got tired of dealing with customers. I dropped off a pair of Clark's shoes and was assured it can be fixed. I asked what if it isn't. The reply was "it will be". I got them back and the glue used let go in two days. I brought them Back and they said " well you know Clarks are not good shoes.
