I could not be more pleased with the staff and trainers at Peticulary perfect. They sit down with you and customize a plan to help your pets learn the proper behavior as either a puppy or young adult. We have a Labrador which have always been known to be "trouble". I choose to have both group and individual training sessions both of which helped immensely with our puppies behavior. If you are looking for a competent and friend staff to work with your pet this is the best choice.

Legitimately the best trainers/walkers/boarding I have ever worked with. I called Peticularly perfect in 2017 for a dog walker for my dog who, to be honest, was a complete nightmare. The walkers were great but it became obvious that my dog was a problem (so I was really the problem) because I had not enforced any boundaries with my dog. Fast forward to 2020 and my dog is far from perfect, but a decent companion overall. The training help we got is ongoing. They have been able to meet all of our last minute boarding and walking requests. Also, they know all of my dog's special needs and remember him even when they haven't seen him for awhile. Honestly, I wish I could give them more stars because I am not sure I would have been able to keep my dog without Peticularly Perfect. The prices are also reasonable, I think that is worth mentioning. Anyway, highly, highly recommend!

Peticularly Perfect is such an awesome service. I love having a reliable company to look after my senior dog when I'm at work. Brenna is our usual dog walker and she is amazing. Her email updates are the highlight of my day when she is scheduled to walk Ollie. Brenna is a super sweet person and puts a lot of care and love into her work and it shows. We've already recommended PP to people we know and will continue to do so - you guys are great! Thank you, Brenna!

Dakota and Maggie

After many years of companionship we lost our two dogs to old age last year. This year we decided it was time and got our one year old Maggie, a red heeler/collie mix. Maggie is a spirited pup full of love and mischief. Now after many years of having senior dogs Maggie was a ball of energy and we realized pretty quick we needed help. I searched Yelp and we settled on Peticularly Perfect after reading the reviews. We lucked out and got Dakota Castro. At our first session Dakota got down on the floor and spent time getting to know our Maggie. They hit it off immediately! We just recently finished our 5th session with Dakota and she is amazing. She is so knowledgeable and patient and Maggie really responds to her. Not only was Dakota training Maggie but she was teaching us. The results have been amazing. Occasionally, Dakota will bring one of her dogs to help in the socialization aspect of training and this has been really good for Maggie. Our last session was at Home Depot where we worked on building Maggie's confidence by exposing her to all of the new sites and sounds. I will tell you that Dakota is a 5 star trainer and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. The Peticularly Perfect website makes scheduling the sessions a breeze. Easy to schedule and easy to change. Payment is all through the website too. As you can tell, my wife and I and really happy with the whole experience.

Service feedback and photos after every visit!

We've been using Peticularly Perfect for just over a year now. We can't say enough good things about this company. We schedule daily visits on weekends where we need to be out of town and they always have availability for a pet sitter to walk and play with our dog, even during holidays. When we initially signed up, someone came to our house to meet our dog and learn about our needs. At the time, he was about one month post-emergency spinal surgery and had specific care needs. We were nervous to leave him to the point where we were thinking about canceling our trip. But after meeting with someone and discussing everything, it put our mind at ease. They were more than willing to accommodate all of our instructions. To this day, there are some things we need to watch out for in regard to his spine and each sitter has listened to our requests without hesitation. Earlier this year, we booked the incorrect date for sitters and our pup was left for several hours without anyone there (luckily we caught it early!). With one phone call, the owner was able to get someone to our apartment ASAP and schedule out the rest of the weekend for us without hesitation. Melany is our regular sitter and does a great job at providing us with plenty of photos and feedback about each visit. All of our other sitters have been great as well (Lauren, Brenna, and whoever else I missed!), with a special shoutout to Courtney for all the love she showed our dog over the holidays in December! It means a lot when your sitters care about your pet as much as you do (which is definitely hard to live up to). You can tell how much love and attention all of the sitters have for the dogs they watch, which puts your mind at ease when you are leaving your dog in the hands of new people! Finally, Peticularly Perfect has a convenient online portal to book new services, pay invoices (where you can also add a digital tip instead of leaving cash!), add new notes about your pet's care, and look at service feedback/photos. We're so grateful for everything they do for us and couldn't recommend them enough!

I cannot sing the praises of Michelle enough! When Monty returned from two weeks of Board and…read moreTrain with Michelle, he was a changed dog. He's not just a calmer dog, he's a CALM dog. We've had no out-of-control barking incidents; he can be tethered and remain quiet. He's very good on walks, moving from "heel" to "break" and back to "heel" again. He's very responsive to the "off" command, which we use primarily to keep him off the furniture and out of the kitchen. Last week we had friends over for dinner and after his initial excitement he was a good boy, lying nearby content and chewing on a bone. We even attended the Humane Society Walk for Animals at Kit Carson Park, and with hundreds of dogs and people and non-stop activities, he was again a very well-behaved boy. We are so appreciative of the work that Michelle did with Monty. He is now the dog we always hoped he would be - happy, well-behaved, and living his best life!

**Life-Changing. Truly.**…read more I don't write reviews lightly and I especially don't write emotional ones--but Bark Busters of San Diego quite literally gave me my life back. For years, I lived in silence and stress. I couldn't leave my home without my dogs barking, howling, scratching at their crates, and spiraling into panic. The mouth watering alone was enough to break me. So instead, I stayed home. I adjusted my life around their anxiety. I suffered quietly because I loved them and didn't know what else to do. Until one day I broke down completely. I realized this wasn't living not for me, and not for them. We deserved calm. We deserved peace. We deserved to live our "best" lives and this wasn't it. Some people complain in reviews that dog training "doesn't work." Let me be very clear: anxiety whether in humans or dogs is not something you fix by checking a box. A true behavioral therapist understands one thing above all else, "awareness". Anxiety comes from surroundings and perceived safety. The work is learning how to respond and create calm and that takes consistency. I spent three straight weeks training four hours a day, every single day. I cried. I doubted myself. I wanted to quit. But I followed the Bark Busters program exactly as taught--daily simulations, real-world scenarios, repetition, and patience. And then something incredible happened. My dogs slept. They relaxed. They trusted. Today, I can leave my home and my dogs are calm, quiet, and peacefully sleeping, knowing I'm coming back. Visitors come and go with ease. My 9- and 6-year-old Maltipoos are relaxed, confident, and happy. And so am I. Here's the truth people don't want to hear, there is no magic pill. There is no shortcut. The training never "ends" because leadership and love are lifelong commitments. And honestly? That's the gift. Once it becomes part of your daily life, it feels natural. I walk more. The cuddles are calmer. I'm no longer being climbed on out of anxiety I'm being loved in peace. And about the cost? Think about it. You've already spent more on multiple trainers, treats, wasted time, emotional exhaustion, and a very unhappy household. Bark Busters' training is guaranteed for life. If you move. If life changes. If new challenges come you're supported. That matters more than people realize. Justin and his team are beyond words. Compassionate. Honest. Direct. They don't just train dogs, they train families. Value your pet's life. Value the short, precious time we get with them. Happiness--for everyone in the home is worth the work.

As first-time dog owners, the early support really did help us. Having someone we could call during those overwhelming first months was a relief. Over time, though, I realized I was hoping the training would shift toward more positive reinforcement. The constant, harsher corrections worked at first but eventually didn't seem effective anymore and started affecting my relationship with Mimi. I noticed this during a family trip where Mimi, who is usually fearful of strangers, bonded more easily with my husband and his family. She gravitated toward them when scared, and I realized it might be because they weren't following the correction-heavy approach, while I was. I also asked for help with Mimi's fear and reactivity toward other dogs, but was told they didn't have dogs available for training and that I would need to bring a calm, socialized dog myself. As a non-trainer, that was very hard, but we tried by traveling many hours to introduce her to my husband's family dog. The experience ended up being chaotic since the family didn't fully understand what the process required, and new people and dogs kept appearing even though Mimi wasn't ready. Her reactivity came back in that environment, which made me feel like the training had only put a bandaid on deeper fear issues. Maybe I should have clarified expectations better from the start, but with a high-need dog and being new to all of this, I didn't know what to expect. Since then, we've switched to a positive reinforcement trainer who organizes structured group activities. Mimi is still scared of bigger dogs and can still be reactive, but she's improving slowly and has been able to meet a few smaller dogs. She's also still fearful of people, but she nips a lot less now, so progress is happening. Overall, Bark Busters helped us in the beginning, but long-term we found that a different, more positive approach has been a better fit for Mimi.

He weighs about 90lbs and struggles with reactivity (excitement and pulling when he sees other dogs/people) and he did not consistently obey commands (especially "heel"). Elaine was patient, consistent, and very communicative. She took the time to ask us what issues we wanted to focus on, and then was able to come up with a highly effective training on the spot. She was able to get him to follow commands that even surprised us (including getting him to "place" onto a picnic table). And by the end of the session, we walked him around and had zero issues with pulling or reactivity, even when there were dogs and kids nearby. It was impressive to see so much progress in such a short time. Throughout the process, she explained everything she was doing, including the specific steps AND the purpose. She answered ALL of my questions with thoughtful and kind responses. And throughout the whole experience, she was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend her.

Before training, Forrest was a very playful and excitable pup who struggled with focus and discipline. He was easily distracted, didn't consistently follow commands, and had trouble behaving appropriately around children and other dogs. After spending two weeks with Elaine, our amazing trainer, Forrest came home a completely transformed dog! He's now obedient, focused, and confident -- even in high-distraction environments like parks and public places. He mastered six core commands and continues to respond beautifully to them at home. Elaine truly is a "dog whisperer." She's local (Murrieta), which made drop-off and pickup super convenient, and she went above and beyond to keep us updated. We received daily videos and photos showing Forrest's progress -- we looked forward to them every day and loved watching his transformation in real time. We are so impressed with Elaine's skill, patience, and dedication. Forrest is still the same silly, lovable dog we adore, but now he's also well-mannered, obedient, and an absolute joy to be around. Thank you, Elaine and Off Leash K9, for giving us the best version of our pup!

We haven't boarded them yet (not needed for a while), but we are working on getting them comfortable with her so that it won't be a big shock and trauma to them when I leave them for the first time. They've met with her twice and already love her. Just one of the dogs has extreme anxiety and separation anxiety so when I'm not around, they easily freak out which is why I scheduled for more frequent day care days before the boarding date in order to make the boarding less stressful.
