I cannot sing the praises of Michelle enough! When Monty returned from two weeks of Board and Train with Michelle, he was a changed dog. He's not just a calmer dog, he's a CALM dog. We've had no out-of-control barking incidents; he can be tethered and remain quiet. He's very good on walks, moving from "heel" to "break" and back to "heel" again. He's very responsive to the "off" command, which we use primarily to keep him off the furniture and out of the kitchen. Last week we had friends over for dinner and after his initial excitement he was a good boy, lying nearby content and chewing on a bone. We even attended the Humane Society Walk for Animals at Kit Carson Park, and with hundreds of dogs and people and non-stop activities, he was again a very well-behaved boy. Sophia handled Kodi for the 2 weeks he was there and did a fantastic job training him! I gave Chris a call, and to my surprise, he not only answered right away but spent almost an hour on the phone with my partner and me. He patiently explained everything about their programs, walked us through the pros and cons of each, and never once tried to upsell us. Instead, he helped us choose the program that would truly fit our needs and goals. That honesty meant a lot. Chris also shared his Instagram, where I could actually see him working with a dog so similar to our own German Shorthaired Pointers. It instantly gave me confidence in his experience with this very high-energy working breed -- aka the original Velcro puppies! By the end of that first call, we felt sure Cosmo K9 was the right fit for us. From there, Chris assigned us to a trainer local to us in Oceanside, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Michelle. She has been absolutely fantastic! Once we handled all the logistics, Michelle became our main point of contact and immediately went above and beyond to communicate with us. Dropping off our puppies was very emotional and difficult, but Michelle eased that transition. She regularly sent photos and gave detailed report cards full of updates about how they were doing, what they were learning, and where each of them was excelling. That level of care and attention meant the world to us. After the two weeks of training, pick-up day was just as thoughtful. Michelle gave us an in-depth 1:1 session (which we were able to record for future reference) to ensure we felt confident continuing the training at home. We also have the reassurance of follow-up support whenever we need it -- another amazing benefit! The difference in our puppies is night and day. They went from being wild, unruly, and out of control to well-behaved, responsive, and much calmer. Of course, they're still puppies -- but now they listen, take direction, and have a solid foundation to grow on. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?! Rex is an 8 yr old Corgi that I have had since 8 weeks old. His basic obedience was okay but he was very aggressive towards other dogs, didn't walk well at all and super anxious all the time. After board and train with Chris and Michelle, he's like a new dog! He's calm, heels and is more relaxed around different environments. I too learned so much about Rex and how to manage him in different scenarios. It turns out, this old dog needed some training too! Highly recommend Cosmo K9 Obedience if you are looking for a life-long trainer committed to teaching your dog how to learn manners and commands. After rescuing our first large working dog, Jack Jack, we needed help teaching him leash manners. Our dog was found roaming and brought in to the shelter, which likely is the cause for his significant reactivity. Though not aggressive, we struggled taking him out on walks, because he consistently pulled and would whine loudly when seeing any other dog. Even before starting the board and train program, Chris helped us by giving us the necessary tools to teach our boy how to behave well. Additionally, I really appreciated that Chris always has our dog's best interest at heart. He showed me this immediately by recommending the appropriate time to send our boy to training after recently adopting him. Chris is genuinely invested in your dog's well-being, and he is always available to answer any of our texts/calls when our dog is having growing pains or choosing to be stubborn. During the whole process and even after, Chris ensures that Jack Jack, my boyfriend, and I are happy with the progress made. Chris helps us understand what Jack Jack is thinking and what he may need; and we have also scheduled home visits to help Jack Jack adapt back to his life with us. We sent our 5-year-old dog Blitz to Cosmo K9's 2-week board & train while we were on vacation, and we came home to a completely different dog (in the best way possible). Blitz had pretty serious leash reactivity--especially with people on bikes, scooters, loud trucks, and sometimes even other dogs. Things got so bad that during one outburst, both my wife and I ended up getting accidentally bitten while trying to control him. Chris worked with Blitz on seven basic commands and really helped lay the foundation for better behavior. Since coming home, we've been able to walk around the park without Blitz freaking out at kids on bikes, and he's had calm interactions with other dogs while on leash--something we never thought possible. He's also way better on leash in general--no more constant pulling--and we even took him into the pet store without him stressing out to escape. Chris was great to work with--super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he does. We just completed two weeks of boarding and training with Cosmo K9 for our 16 weeks old puppy. I was very skeptical at first and did not know what to expect from the program. I was asking Chris a lot of questions and he was always very patient with me and answered all of them. Our puppy is not back home and we see so much change in his behavior. He learned a lot of manners and great commands. We realize that we now have to work hard on continuing the training at home to be consistent. My American bully, Franklin did the 2 week board and train - so happy with the results! Franklin has been a much better listener and follows commands so much easier and faster than before. I had difficulty with an "off" command with him, but the training sessions made our life easier. Chris, the trainer, is very good at communicating - sends videos and updates! He will also always answer any questions you have. I felt very safe leaving Franklin with him! Keep in mind, YOU as the owner will need to continue their training when they return home to you to make sure they keep up with their good habits they learned. We recently had Chris train 2 maltipoo puppies- 10 months old. We separated the training sessions so our puppies went on different weeks. Chris was professional and flexible, which was great. He sends videos and pictures, which is cute. Our biggest reasons for hiring Chris were socialization and aggression issues. Since these 2 puppies were from the same litter, we had additional challenges, all of which Chris was patient with observing and offering suggestions both during and after training. Chris was the best fit for our needs because he offered a 2 week program at the same cost (even less) than most other larger facilities 1wk program, he only deals with a limited number of dogs in each 2 week training session, and his facility was safe for a 9lb and 11lb puppy. We absolutely love Cosmo K9 Obedience and the family. We have been going to them since 2021. Both our boys, Koda (Shepard mix 5 years old) and Duke (German Shepherd 3 years old) have done the board and train with Chris. Koda use to be reactive to other dogs, but Chris worked with him and got him to make friends with other dogs. Duke used to be rebellious and not listen. Both boys are now well behaved and just complete lover boys. We also take the boys to board with Chris and his family anytime we are on vacation. Chris was awesome! I had to find a place for my dog to be boarded for a weekend and after calling a few places who I learned crates the dogs for an extended amount of time and left alone overnight , I finally called Chris. I needed the service ASAP and Chris was very receptive and made sure I got booked for the time I needed. And he was very flexible in case I needed my dog to stay an additional day. We made arrangements for Chris to pick up my dog at my house (which was very convenient). When I met with Chris, he was very professional and thorough and made sure I felt comfortable with his services. He went over everything that he does for the dogs that he boards from playtime to feedings, and when they go bed. Also, they are not left alone all night which I loved. I felt very comfortable with him, my dog liked him, and so I decided to use his services. Chris even sent me a video of my dog so that I would feel comfortable knowing he was in good hands. I've officially had my doggy back home from training for about a month now, and the changes I've seen in him have absolutely blown my mind. Frank (my dog) is one stubborn piece of work and Chris had the patience of the world to train him. Frank did NOT listen to me, and it only got worse when my husband deployed. Frank now listens to me, can go on walks without pulling, doesn't jump on me and other commands I couldn't do on my own. We had an Oopsie the first time Chris took Frank and Chris was great every step of the way with this accident and took him back a month later to restart his training!
