Tess is one of the most beautiful spirits you will ever get to meet. Her love of animals in unrivaled, she even trumps me (difficult to do). She has a calming effect on dogs and they will sit with her when they will not do it for anyone else. I had a Dane that was neurotic and yet Tess was able to calm her down and get her nails done. She has since passed, but I still go to her even though I have dogs that love getting pampered. She is one of those people that once she is a part of your life you will always want her there. I strongly recommend making an appointment, she books up quickly, but if you're in the neighborhood stop in, if she has time she will take a walk-in. As a bonus you can shop in the boutique she is located in and get something special for your dog. read more

Tess is pure magic! Wonderful with clients (and people too)... seriously can't say enough great things about her!

I'm excited to write this review because Of how I found Tess! So I'm sitting outside cafe Calabria with my Pug Jackson and his Sister Pippa. This kind lady began chatting to us. I mentioned to her that my pug needed his nails clipped this afternoon and I didn't know where to go. She said, "Oh! U have to see TESS! She's the best in town!." Now, I've had referrals before and haven't been so pleased, BUT! when she mentioned that Tess knew a lot about, "Muffins Halo" -which is a device for blind doggies, I had to see this woman! My pug Jackson is blind by the way and should really have one of these devices. So after I finished my latte' we went looking for Peticures by Tess and wouldn't u know it!..there was one parking spot left right outside her business's door. It was meant to be! I walk in and was immediately greeted by Tess who just radiates love and passion for animals, especially for puggies. I felt very comfortable immediately and knew my boy would be taken care of. She was able to squeeze us in for the following Thursday. She swaddled my boy while two of them worked on his nails and he looked very relaxed. When he finished he was actually in a good mood, which is rare after having his nails done! And guess what! They had silver glitter on them! I love Tess and her team and I will be back! Really folks- she's the best. My dog is a freak when it comes to her feet and Tess knows her stuff. I wouldn't go anywhere else. For Easter she painted her nails a cute purple. Where can we start? We have been going regularly to Tess for years! We have an elderly dog and two dogs from the pound and a Chihuahua! They are all sensitive to strangers and Tess has been the only person that two of our dogs would even let near them for treatment! She has an amazing connection with animals and we won't stop taking our dogs to her. When she was recommended to us, we were incredibly relived that someone could take care of all four of our dogs (three being particularly nervous patients). No kidding... Years of Mugzie SCREAMING like a rooster at the groomer, which has banned her... the Vet tries their best but Mugz Still has screaming fits!! Mugzie didn't even make a Whimper with this type of peticure!! AHMAZEEEING!! Tess calmed both Mugzie and Beluga with wonderful soft music, a little massage, soothing oils and a magical Vulcan like touch, Beluga went from a stiff Gargoyle-like Statue to a limp lil fat dog. ok a big fat dog. A visit to Tess was easily one of the best times our dogs have ever had. Aromatherapy massage, nail trimming, polish (animal safe by the way) and then hand made doggie ice cream. They were grinning ear to ear and dancing around like new puppies. No clippers! No bleeding! No trauma! There is even a little welcome sign down on the floor with your dog's name on it for them to see. She really goes the extra mile to make this a top notch experience for both for you and your pet. All the while, it seems like Tess is the one getting the most joy from it all. She has a gift and huge heart to care for these animals. She is worth her weight in gold! My little four legged one had a peticure yesterday!!! Tess is the best. She gives the pups a lavender oil massage to relax them & then gets to work trimming the nails. She also finishes them off with a little nail polish. My little one ended up with purple glittery nail polish! I swear the pampering made her feel really good, because the next day she started showing off by jumping & running around. She even had some extra pep in her walk! But seriously, I could do without the nail polish or lavender oil (although she does smell really good!). It really is about the nail grooming! I really don't know how Tess does it! She does use a drummer tool instead of clippers. My little one jumps off my lap & runs away if I come close to her paws. I also actually witnessed her have a panic attack just by seeing the toenail clippers & hid under my bed for hours! I've also had other groomers refuse to clip my puppies nails because she panicked too much. I had no choice but to take her to her vet which cost me quite a bit. But now I thankfully have Tess & for $20 she is worth every penny! read more

Tess is PERFECTION! She is genuinely sincere, and tries to customize every dogs needs and caters to them. She books up pretty fast which is the downside BUT i realized its because she is that good at what she does. I have 2 dogs and one of which becomes very antsy when alone with a stranger. I usually take him to get his nails clipped by groomers but they always put a muzzle on him. I am amazed that Tess can lay him down, calm him down and FILE his nails. Im pretty sure filling takes longer than clipping so i am shocked he didnt nip nor did his anal glands act up! Since she was soo good with him, i can trust her and him to be bathed by her, especially when the shampoo she uses smell heavenly! I agree with everyone else. Tess is the best. She's very easy-going and warm and loving to my dog, Maggie, and Maggie, in turn, loves it. I think she gets a little nervous in the shop while we're waiting -- all the smells, the other animals, anticipation? -- but once she's wrapped in those blankets, smelling like lavender, and being handled by Tess, she's all butter. And the painted nails tickle me like nothing else. Maggie somehow seems to feel so girly when her nails are pink or orange or even blue -- her step becomes a prance. read more

What can I say that hasn't already been said - she is the nail whisperer when it comes to skittish dogs who can't stand having their feet touched. She worked her magic with my English Mastiff who at 150 lbs could easily have out muscled her, but she was a baby in Tess' very capable hands and it took only a few minutes to trim down her super thick, black nails with no pain involved. Our other dog is equally as skittish about anyone touching her nails, but is delighted to see Tess at her appointments. Tess is AWESOME!!! Or should I say pawesome? My Beagle, Friday, has long quicks and whenever I would take her to get her nails clipped she would come home with bloody paws so I started using the pedipaws bi-weekly, but her nails were always so long. Enter....Tess!!! Friday's nails have never been so short and no bleeding! Tess was so sweet with Friday, I was probably more nervous than Friday was. What do you do with a sweet little MinPin that turns into a ball of teeth baring fury when her feet are touched? You take her to Tess! Duh. Tess made me a believer in reincarnation. How can a human be so in touch with animals unless she was once an animal? Believe it people, I've never seen anything like it. During our first appointment I couldn't do anything but watch the magic happening between my dog and the stranger that flipped her over on her back. THAT was a first. Tess is the messiah of dogs. I used to take my sassy girl to Petsmart where 2 girls would have to clip her nails; one to hold her and one to clip them. When I walked in the door, they'd say "Here comes 5lbs of fury!". It was a mess. Eventually she got better and stopped attacking the clippers but it still was an ordeal for her. Now she gets so excited when I pull up in front of Tess's that she cries and strains to get inside. Once inside she willingly jumps in Tess's lap and licks her face. It's so nice to go home and not have to file the rough edges from her nails. Tess Dremel's them, files them and then buffs them. My dog's nails look nicer than mine! I cant say enough good things about Tess...we love her but more importantly our doggie Lou LOVES her! She has a huge heart & talent! She is the hot pink haired doggie loving angle. Louie our pug has been a regular client of Tess for 3 years now...she never cages him (he is a rescue and cages scare him so much) and lays on the floor with our doggie in this little baby papoose thing comforting him while he gets his nails trimmed...and painted...yes painted hehehe :) Louis looks smashing in the blues, greens, and I even had her do bubble gum pink with white polka dots for Valentines Day (so cute). We also have to get his little bottom done and he is in and out in seconds and she always freshens up his fur with soothing lavender oil. Tess has been grooming our two mini doxies' nails for years. Our oldest dog, Ramona, is now 5 years old. When she was a very young pup, she was luke warm to letting me trim her nails. Within her first year, though, that somehow changed. After her fighting me, then the vet accidentally clipping into the quick of her nail, we found Tess. Mona LOVES her, partly because she knows when she sees Tess, it means one of two things: she'll either get to enjoy a little bacon, or a little cream cheese, while she gets her toes done. We were lucky enough to find Tess more than three plus years ago through Original Paw Pleasers Dog Bakery. You literally can't find a better person to trim dog toenails. Our dog would cry in pain and claw us to death when we cut his nails, but with Tess he would just lay there and look like nothing was happening at all. I don't know what her secret is, but she's got a magic touch with dogs. To top it all off, she is a great person with a great heart. You know from the moment that you meet her that she has nothing but your interest and your dog's interest at heart. She even recommended a diet for our dog when he was having stomach issues. Took my pup to get her first peticure with Tess today and her toes are so cute with "pawlish" now :) She had gotten her nails cut before at Petsmart and they were all sharp and uneven, so I was excited when I found out about Tess. My dog was being kinda loud and yappy while she was getting her nails done, and I was worried my dog would be the first one to get banned from Tess'! However Tess assured us this is normal and some dogs just vocalize a lot. Soon enough she was quiet and we had a wonderful finished product of short nails! If I could give Tess 47 stars, I would, without hesitation. See that adorable mug in my profile pic? He hates having his feet touched and really detests anyone that messes with his paws... except Tess! She's kind, gentle, loving, INCREDIBLY PATIENT and as if that wasn't enough, she's fantastic at what she does! Leroy's (my dog) toes are always groomed super smooth and nice. She's never groomed them to short and he always smells fantastic when she's done! Seriously, she is worth every single penny (and then some... please don't raise your prices) and unless your dog rolls over and goes to sleep when you get out the clippers, take your dog to Tess. So much better than any Petco/Vet/Etc is ever going to do and she cares 150% more than any other place ever will! read more

Last year, Tess helped our senior German Shepherd with his nails, and I was incredibly impressed with her skill and kindness (and I'll never forget how adorable our big, scary-to-strangers boy looked wearing a lavender-misted fleece scarf around his head). He normally didn't like having his front feet touched, but he allowed her to hold them with no complaint. Eventually, we rescued another GS, this time a female who'd had a pretty rough time of it and as a result is nervous about strangers, noises, birds...well, a lot of things (she's under my desk right now). I am a dog trainer and have three dogs, a pit, a poodle and a Chihuahua. All of them have black as night nails and even I quake at having to cut them. The pit's nails are down right prehistoric! I used to do them myself but I HATED IT. I can now trust Tess to do all their nails in about a quarter of the time it used to take me. Needless to say my good behavior got me "initiated" into what appears as "the clique". But, really it is a genuine support system. Tess is awesome! I have a pug and for all you pug owners out there, you KNOW how terrible it is for them to get thier nails trimmed (Tess has a pug too so she can relate). Tess is super gentle and calming, wraps them up like a little baby and buffs thier nails SUPER short. I had no idea my dogs' nails could even go that short! It really is worth the $20 price tag considering your baby won't be traumatized and it lasts three times longer than regular nail trimming because they are so short. Tess is AMAZING! My pup, Roxy, absolutely adores Tess (probably because of all the bacon, cream cheese, and belly rubs Tess gives her). Tess starts out with a little lavender aromatherapy, then wraps a fuzzy blanket around Roxy to comfort her and block out some of the noise from the Dremel. Tess is extremely careful about not hitting the quick. Roxy is not fond of loud, scary noises, so I am always amazed at how she let's Tess do her nails... and Tess does NOT force her; Tess is always gentle and caring. Tess has been wonderful with our 15yr old Black Lab, Flash. When he was no longer able to go to her, she would come to us for a house call! Tess is the only groomer who has been able to successfully cut my dog's nails. In the past, it took at least two people to hold him and a prescription for Xanax, but Tess does it on her own and Charlie is happy enough that I don't have to drag him through the door for each visit! I give Tess 10 out of 5 stars. Seriously though. There are not a whole lot of words...except for that Tess is AMAZING. Some might think it silly to get their dogs nails done..but in the case of smaller pooches...or the freaky few big guys who can't file their nails down on their own...Tess is your go-to-gal. My small guy went to Petsmart once where they cut his nails down to the point of bleeding. Needless to say...he is a pain in the a** when it comes to even touching his nails. Tess works miracles with him. My bigger gal is a HOT MESS when it comes to her nails. She is 60 pounds of full strength and fight...especially when it comes to her paws. Somehow...Tess is able to calmly and gently handle her and get her nails down. Tess is a real dog lover, she is kind to any dog that comes in, and she is just a great person!!!! read more
