Darling little cafe in Petit Jean. Sarah and the rest of the staff are friendly and efficient. They even welcomed my service dog with a smile. Cold brew is strong and tasty. Pimento cheese is perfect - a Southern classic on sourdough. Lots of things to add to your order - trail butters, local honey, and even toys for kids. Granola with yogurt and fruit snd fruit and cheese trays can fuel your quick hike. The building is reminiscent of a tree house; shelves are stocked with neat stickers and an array of PJ apparel. A little pricey... Came here after a rainy hike. I got an iced almond milk latte. It was $8.25! With that said, it was delicious! I don't know if it was the long hike that made it taste so good but normally I would not spend that much on a drink that doesn't have alcohol in it. And I don't think I'd come back because of that. Just a small latte is $6.50, yikes! One more thing, the patio is dog friendly so that's nice to come hang out after a long hike. read more

So glad we stopped here for lunch - limited menu, but everything made fresh upon ordering. Loved our Club sandwiches and iced lattes - they even have several milk options and sugar-free syrups. We stopped at this place because we needed a "goodie" - a cookie, scone, something. Turns out, they have the best scones we've ever had in our lives! I mean, my brother was crying as he was eating his! OK, maybe he was just making weepy and moany noises, but he did mention that he "could cry it was so good". We got the apple cinnamon, blueberry, and the raspberry white chocolate, which were the flavors they had today. They were moist, but perfectly caramelized around the edges, sweet, but not deathly so, chewy, in a good way, and you could tell that they used "real" ingredients. They were just really fabulous! So much so, that we went back two hours later to get some more since we were leaving the area later that day. I think the Apple cinnamon was the favorite, but it was hard to choose I know they also have lunch and coffee. We did not get lunch, but my brother did get a coffee. He sent me in to get "something sweet and creamy with a double espresso shot". The girls knew what to make, and he said it was perfect. I did notice they had various flavorings for the coffee from chocolate to lavender to cinnamon, if you are into that. Absolutely a place I would go to again and again if I were in the area. As it was, we were just visiting the Petit Jean State Park, and they are just outside it's a boundaries. The building doesn't look like much, and there's no sign on the building, just at the entrance of the drive to indicate what it is. They close at 2 during the week (I think it's 4 on the weekend), so be aware of that if you are in need of something sweet, or lunch, or coffee. read more

We had a great little sugar-free hazelnut latte, dripped coffee, bacon/egg/cheese burrito, a piece of banana nut bread, the sausage and cheese croissant, and an apple/cinnamon scone. While the breakfast hots were okay, the coffee and sweet treats were phenomenal. I only had a sampling of the banana nut bread, but it was so moist and filled my mouth with joy. We stayed the weekend at Petit Jean State Park campgrounds and while we were out and about exploring, we noticed this coffeehouse right by the road. It had a nice patio with plenty of outdoor seating, souvenirs inside and some AMAZING coffee. I went two days in a row and tried different flavors plus their scones were so soft and tasty. A hidden gem just outside of Petit Jean State Park. This A Frame building is far better than one might expect when driving by. I had the best Blueberry Scone I've ever eaten! Cutest little coffee shop in the middle of nowhere! Fortunately for us, it was right near the Airbnb we were staying at for a long weekend. And fortunately for them, the coffee maker at our Airbnb was broken. We stopped twice during our stay and enjoyed everything. The cold brew was good, the drip coffee was hot & fresh, and the sack lunches/sandwiches were great too. Our pup especially enjoyed his pupcup. This is the gem of the mountain. Seriously. You can't come to Petit Jean and not stop here. It's a quaint A frame structure on the outside but a very cute, trendy, fresh interior and atmosphere. The owner is the nicest and most appreciative person. It's a family-run business with the teenage kids helping out too. They have an assortment of hot and cold coffees, lemonades, Italian sodas, etc. There are breakfast pastries including some delicious looking scones. They have 3 sandwich options for a "to go" lunch including chicken salad and BLT. There's a small neat gift shop area on the right side of the store. Currently there is no indoor seating but there is a large deck in front with seating. There are steps leading from the gravel parking lot to the deck and a ramp that also leads to the deck. I can just imagine how awesome it would be to sit on the deck and drink coffee and eat scones on a chilly autumn morning before a hike or grabbing a coffee and heading back to your cabin to warm up by the fire. The owner had repeat visitors from last year who came in and raved about how good it was and that they couldn't wait to come back. We will definitely find an excuse to return too. read more

We stopped in for coffee on our way home from the park. We both had the Firefly (sweetened with honey with cinnamon added). It was easily one of the best coffees I have ever had. The staff was both friendly and efficient. I was able to find a souvenir t shirt for my teenage daughter there too. They have a lot of neat items for sale in the shop. We spotted this place driving into our camp site this past weekend and knew we wanted to try it out especially with Mather Lodge being closed in the mornings. We ended up dropping by both Saturday and Sunday it was so delicious! On Saturday we tried the Waterfall Mist and Turtle Rock Latte in addition to the breakfast sandwiches. The Turtle Rock Latte was a little sweet for me, but that was entirely my fault. On Sunday we tried the Drip and Carmel Frappa along with a breakfast sandwich and jalapeño scone. She doesn't typically offer breakfast on Sundays, but because we waited 5mins the owner offered to accommodate us. My one critique was the owner not apologize as much! There were six people ahead of us and of course we had to wait a few minutes but she got to us quickly and I couldn't count two hands the amount of times she apologized! Turns out she is the owner of the coffeehouse that we stopped at after our hike--Petit Jean Coffeehouse! She greeted us at the door, and gave fantastic customer service, and the coffee is amazing!
